We obtain and analyze an analytical solution of the boundary-value problem of the field of an electric dipole located in a small spheroid filled with a cold isotropic plasma. The conditions of resonant amplification of the field in vacuum are studied for various shapes and curvatures of the plasma spheroid. It is shown that for a certain spheroid shape, the resonant amplification increases several times compared with the case of spherical plasma environment. The obtained results are compared with the resonant radiation of a dipole from a narrow elliptical plasma cylinder.  相似文献

We obtain and analyze an analytical solution to the problem of electromagnetic-wave radiation of the point electric dipole from an anisotropic plasma cylinder to free space. Two cases of the dipole orientation are considered, where the electric dipole is directed along and across a horizontal magnetic field whose direction does not coincide with the axes of a cylindrical coordinate system. We analyze how the conditions and characteristics of the resonance influence of the anisotropic plasma cylinder depend on the strength of the magnetic field and its direction with respect to the dipole moment of the source. Comparative analysis of the resonance influence of the plasma cylinder with horizontal and axial external magnetic fields is performed.  相似文献

为优化交流等离子体显示器(AC PDP)的单元结构和驱动电压,采用光谱测量系统和交流等离子体显示器宏单元对电极结构参量、带有浮动电极的新型单元结构及维持电压脉冲参量对Ne-Xe混合气体放电辐射的红外光谱的影响进行了实验研究。结果表明,随着维持电极宽度增加,单元放电辐射的828 nm红外光谱的强度提高,而其辐射效率基本保持不变;随着维持电极间隙增大或在维持电极间加有适当宽度的浮动电极,红外辐射光谱的强度及其辐射效率均提高;提高维持电压脉冲频率或幅度,可增加红外辐射强度,但辐射效率降低。  相似文献

We discuss transfer of plasma waves, excited by a powerful radio wave due to its scattering on artificial ionospheric irregularities, into an additional region of very short plasma oscillations polarized almost perpendicular to the magnetic field. Such a region can exist in the magnetized ionospheric plasma due to the strong spatial dispersion. We take into account the plasma-wave diffusion over the spectrum caused by multiple scattering on irregularities, as well as the nonlinear process of plasma-wave interaction due to induced scattering by ions. The latter process leads to the transfer of primary plasma waves into the additional region. The induced scattering is considered in the differential approximation valid for sufficiently smooth plasma-wave spectra. The numerical calculations are performed for a Maxwellian plasma in which suprathermal electrons are absent. It is shown that in this case, the additional region of plasma waves is excited if the pump frequency is close to but slightly less than the fourth electron gyroharmonic, so that the absorption of primarily excited plasma waves becomes sufficiently strong. Application of our calculations to the results of ionospheric experiments is discussed.  相似文献

A one dimensional analysis has been carried out to study the interaction of two co-axial electromagnetic waves propagating vertically at close frequencies in the F-region ionosphere. Coupled equations for the beam width parameters of the two interacting waves have been set up to determine the intensities in the axial direction. Two cases have been examined, i one of the em beams is assumed to be weak so that its influence on the medium as well as on the other beam is neglected, ii) the two beams are of comparable intensities so that they mutually influence each other. In the first case the axial intensity of the weak beam grows at the expense of the other one which is strong. Whereas in the other situation mutual influence results in the focusing of both the beams.  相似文献

We solve the problem of the influence of a small-radius (ka1) isotropic plasma cylinder with a coaxial free-space cavity on the radiation from a source of electromagnetic waves to an outer region of free space. Conditions of the resonance radiation are obtained and characteristics of this radiation as functions of the relative size of the cavity are studied. We show that the resonance frequency splits into two frequencies such that the transmission coefficients at these frequencies can exceed the resonance transmission coefficient for the plasma cylinder without a cavity. The results obtained are compared with the case of emission from a two-layer spherical plasma resonator.  相似文献

Radiation phenomena of plasma waves has been reviewed in three parts, fundamental radiation theory, radiation from point sources, and radiation from finite sources. It is the author's impression that the theoretical prediction of the resonance cone by Kuehl (Phys. Fluids 5, 1095 [1962]) initiated much of the theoretical work. The experimental observation of the resonance cone by Fisher and Gould (Phys. Fluids 14, 857 [1971]) is an epoch-making work in the field of radiation problems from point sources. Although finite sources had been used for excitation of many plasma waves, the experimental confirmation of the radiation patterns from finite sources by Shen et al. (Rad. Sci. 5, 611 [1970]) has initiated much later work. Since thier investigations, radiation phenomena of plasma waves have been investigated and been made clear by many authors, as shown in this review paper Parts 1 - 3. The essential radiation phenomena from point sources have been clarified experimentally except for an observation of electromagnetic ion waves radiated from point sources. Radiation phenomena from finite sources will be investigated further because there are various sources required for various goals, e.g., for heating of plasma infusion devices, etc. These investigations will progress into nonlinear phenomena, instabilities, and inhomogenuous effects in plasmas. It is a great pleasure for the author of this review paper if he could give some insight or any help for further developments in plasma sciences.  相似文献

New measurements and analyses of whistler-mode electron cyclotron resonant heating (ECRH) startup and heating in an axisymmetric magnetic mirror are presented. Experimental studies of startup are presented which include the effects of initial neutral gas pressure on density and energy buildup rates, the effects of electron-beam-generated seed plasma on startup times, and a possible density threshold for the absolute whistler instability. Results of two types of analyses are presented. The first is a Fokker-Planck finite-element simulation the principal result of which is the prediction of the creation of a sloshing electron velocity distribution in the first 10 ?s after microwave power is applied. The second simulation uses rate equations to predict buildup, with rate coefficients based on a model sloshing-electron distribution function. Both results are consistent with experimental observations. Measurements of X-ray emission provided information about plasma transport, the sloshing electron spatial distribution, and the hot-electron average energy. The foil ratio technique gave average energies of 1-3 keV during whistler-mode ECRH, in agreement with afterglow measurements of hot electron decay. Possible applications of whistler-mode ECRH plasma production and heating are for plasma soft X-ray sources and plasma potential modification in tandem mirror machines.  相似文献

Taking energy conservation and angular momentum conservation into account, the tunneling radiation characteristics of stationary axisymmetric Sen black hole is studied in this paper with the quantum tunneling method and the results show that the tunneling rate of particle at the event horizon of the black hole is relevant to Bekenstein–Hawking entropy and that the radiation spectrum is not strictly pure thermal. Experiments have been performed using a low-energy pulser (100 J electrical) to simulate the PITHON wire initiation process by exploding two stainless steel wires and thus providing a UV radiation source. The plasma boundary and density profie near the surface of a sample (electrode material) placed near the radiating wires was observed by taking both a shodowgraph and a hologram. The total energy radiated per wire ranged from 2.0 to 9.5 J/wire for peak currents of 13.5 and 25 kA/wire, respectively. The plasma density profile shows ne = 1.0 × 1018/cm3 near the surface of the sample and ne = 2 × 1016/cm3 near the plasma vacuum interface (plasma front). The final plasma front position has a linear dependence on the total incident energy density with the constant being 1.43 mm/(J/cm2), thus the average expansion velocity dependence on energy density is 1.02 cm/?s/ -J/cm2. Upon varying the sample material, the sample temperature, magnetic field, and the surface roughness, only the magnetic field and the rough electrode surface reduced the plasma front position by approximately a factor of two.  相似文献

We analytically derive the solutions for electromagnetic fields of electric current dipole moment, which is placed in the exterior of the spherical homogeneous conductor, and is pointed along the radial direction. The dipole moment is driven in the low frequency f = 1 kHz and high frequency f = 1 GHz regimes. The electrical properties of the conductor are appropriately chosen in each frequency. Electromagnetic fields are rigorously formulated at an arbitrary point in a spherical geometry, in which the magnetic vector potential is straightforwardly given by the Biot- Savart formula, and the scalar potential is expanded with the Legendre polynomials, taking into account the appropriate boundary conditions at the spherical surface of the conductor. The induced electric fields are numerically calculated along the several paths in the low and high frequeny excitation. The self-consistent solutions obtained in this work will be of much importance in a wide region of electromagnetic induction problems.  相似文献

Taking the self-gravitation interaction and energy conservation,charge conservation and angular momentum conservation into accpunt, we discuss the tunnelling characteristics of the charged particle from Sen black hole by the Hamilton-Jacobi method. The result shows that the tunnelling probability is related to the change of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy, and the actual radiation spectrum deviates from the pure thermal one, which is consistent with the result of Parikh and Wilczek and gives a new method to correct the Hawking pure thermal spectrum of Sen black hole.  相似文献
