Summary Transient absorption of a long lifetime ( 20 s) of YAG: Nd is typical of pure material. It is the main reason of thermal deformation of the laser rods accompanied with power decreases at higher CW input. It may be prevented by an admixture of Fe, Ti or Cr. Using a small admixture ( 10–3 wt.%) of Ti or Cr the energy transfer among Nd ions and the gain coefficient may be increased. Cr in a higher concentration absorbs the pumping light and serves as earlier described coactivator (sensitizer) only. Fe impurity fully prevents any increase of the gain of YAG: Nd containing Ti or Cr and causes slow but irreversible degradation of the active parameters. Ce favourably modifies properties of YAG: Nd, Cr. YAG: Nd, Cr, Ce free of iron impurity is advisable active material for powerfull CW lasers.  相似文献

YAG : Nd grown under 98% Ar 2% H2 protective atmosphere free of nitrogen or hydrocarbons showed after UV irradiation broad absorption peaked at 1·9×104 cm–1 which disappeared relatively slowly at room temperature. It was more intensive in oxygen treated samples than in those annealed in hydrogsn. Transient absorption suppresses laser output by the increase of absorption at 0·94×104 cm–1 (1064 nm) and, particularly in CW mode, by the anomalous rod deformation. YAG : Nd containing Fe ions (2·10–4 wt%) showed no transient absorption.  相似文献

CW diode pumping and FM mode locking of a Nd: KGW laser   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We have demonstrated cw diode end pumping of Nd: KGW, a novel solid-state gain medium, with up to 30% conversion efficiency into near-TEM00 (M2 < 1.05) output at = 1.067 µm for a pump level of 2.7 W. The slope efficiency was limited by intracavity reflections to 36%; however, direct comparison to a similar Nd:YAG laser indicates the same intrinsic slope efficiency of 60%. FM mode locking of this laser at 200 MHz has produced 12 ps pulses (compared to 16 ps for Nd: YAG), although an intracavity etalon was required. Considerable reduction in pulse width is possible (the line width limit is 0.5 ps) but different techniques may be necessary. Spatial hole burning was evident in both the 120 GHz free-running spectrum and the etalon-limited mode-locked spectrum.  相似文献

The quantities(D) and(T) are studied in n- and p-GaAs, irradiated at T = 300°K by H+ ions (5 MeV). It is shown that the resistance of lightly doped GaAs specimens increases from original values of 0 to 109 ·cm upon irradiation by H+ ions (5 MeV) to integral fluxes up to D* – 1015 H+/cm2. For D > D* the layer resistance decreases from 109 ·cm to 1 ·cm at 300°K. It was found that all the GaAs specimens intensely irradiated by H+ ions had p-type conductivity near 300°K. The properties of p-type ZnGeP2 [p0=(5–10)·1010 cm–3, 0=(2–5)·10–7 (·cm)–1], irradiated with H+ ions [E=5 MeV, Tirr=300 K, D=(1·1012–1.7·1016) cm–2] are studied. An increase in the resistivity (to grmax - 5·1011 ·cm) and subsequent reduction in for large currents of H+ ions ( - 9·108 ·cm for D - 1.7·1016 cm–2), is observed in irradiated crystals. The resistivity of irradiated p-type ZnGeP2 is found to be very sensitive to hydrostatic pressure [(4–5)·10–5 bar–1]. This paper reports on an experimental method for measuring in Nd:YAG the Nd doping concentration (C) with high sensitivity (0.01 at.%Nd) and high spatial resolution (50 m). The method is based on the measurement of the fluorescence lifetime f of the upper Nd laser level. Additional parameters required to determine C are the intrinsic fluorescence lifetime 0 and the quenching parameter Q. The measured values of f, 0 (256.47±0.14 s) and Q (4.45±0.40×1020 cm-3) allow us to calculate the Nd concentration C with an absolute accuracy of 0.1 at.%Nd. By using this method C is measured at the outer surfaces of standard laser rods and at the faces of boule slices (with diameters of up to 50 mm). The obtained results demonstrate a detection sensitivity of 0.01 at.%Nd. PACS 42.70.Hj; 81.70.Fy  相似文献

Electrical and optical properties and Fermi level stabilization are studied in GaP crystals irradiated by electrons (E2.2 MeV, D1·1019 cm–2) and H+ ions (E5 MeV, D1.7·1016 cm–2). It is shown that the limiting position of the Fermi level (FlimEG/2±0.2 eV) is independent of the initial GaP parameters and the type of bombarding particle, but is determined by the condition of local neutrality of the defective GaP. Resistivity values for the irradiated specimens of max(D)1·1013 ·cm were obtained at 300 K. At maximum integral particle fluxes a decrease in crystal resistivity to (3–6)·109 ·cm was observed. The beam asymmetryB has been measured for the reactiond pn in the energy rangeE = 0·4 ÷ 0·8 GeV and angles p cm = 45 ÷ 95° and ford 0d at energiesE =0·5, 0·6, 0·7 GeV and angle cm = 130°. It is proposed that positron motion in quasiatomic positron + anion systems formed in anionic media can be described by a potential of the form Veff(r) = Zeff/r2-/r, where Zeff is the effective charge of the nucleus, and n is the effective charge of the anion. It is shown that the positron wave function of the ground state of the quasiatomic positron + anion system in the field of such a potential is X(r) = l/4·Anx·rX·e–ar. Thus the validity of selecting a test variation positron wave function (r) = l/4·A·r·e–ar is demonstrated for the potential Veff = at r = 0 and Veff = –/r for r > 0 (Gol'danskii-Prokop'ev optical positron model, Fiz. Tverd. Tela,8, 515 (1966)), belonging to the class of functions X(r). A search for e and oscillations has been carried out with the CHARM II detector exposed to the CERN wide band neutrino beam. The data were collected over five years, alternating beams mainly composed of muon-neutrinos and muon-antineutrinos. The number of interactions of e and observed is comparable with the number of events expected from flux calculations. For large squared mass differences the upper limits obtained on the mixing angle aresin 22 < 9.4=" ·=">–3 for oscillating to e andsin 22 < 4.8=" ·=">–3 for to , at the 90% confidence level. Energy transfer from Ce to Cr in YAG is radiative and relatively inefficient. If excited below 500 nm, the opposite transfer is dominant. YAP: Ce, Cr showed relatively efficient CeCr transfer only. The sensitization of Nd3+ luminescence by Ce3+ ions depends on the overlap of the Ce3+ emission band with Nd3+ absorption lines. Cr3+Nd3+ transfer is characterized by an expressive non-radiative portion. It is inefficient in YAG but very efficient in YAP. No UV-induced colour centres were found in YAG: Nd, Cr grown under Ar-H2 atmosphere and doped with 10–3 wt. % Cr, but at a higher Cr concentration anomalous absorption between UV absorption edge and 650 nm was stabilized. Ce3+ admixture in YAG:Nd, Cr and/or reducing treatment of the crystals facilitate the decomposition of the centres. The decomposition is accompanied with a strong Nd3+ luminescence. Therefore, YAG: Nd, Ce, Cr is an advisable active laser material. On the other hand the same centre in YAP: Nd, Cr seemed to be more stable even in the presence of cerium ions.  相似文献

High-resistance (dark 108 · cm) photosensitive CdS samples (light 102–103 · cm at saturation) were obtained from low-resistance ( 0.1 · cm) nonphotosensitive CdS single crystals by thermal diffusion of Cu, Ag, and In in vacuum at 2 · 10–5 torr. The spectral response of impurity and pure high-resistance photosensitive single-crystal CdS samples was studied in the wavelength range from 0.35 to 3. The short-wave and long-wave limits of the spectral curves, the wavelength range of maximum photoconductivity and the forbidden band width, the depth of impurity levels, the upper edge of the impurity band, and the depth of maximum-density activation centers have been determined from the spectral curves. The spectroscopic properties of Cr2+ ions in Cr:Cd1–x Mn x Te (CMT) crystals are studied, and the possibility of using these impurity crystals as active media and saturable absorbers of solidstate lasers of medium IR range is demonstrated. The bands of absorption with a maximum at 1.9 m and of luminescence with a maximum at 2.6 m correspond to the transitions between the levels 5 T 2 and 5 E of the tetracoordinated Cr2+ ions with more than 1·10–18cm2 cross sections. The pulsed and continuous lasing modes of a Cr:CMT laser are realized in the 2.6m region. The Cr:CMT crystals are characterized by effective saturation of impurity absorption. The cross sections of absorption from the ground and excited states of the Cr2+ ions at = 2.09 m are determined: gsa = 1.1·10–18 cm2; esa/gsa < 0.1. With the use of the Cr:CMT crystals as a passive gate the regime of Qswitching of the Cr,Tm,Ho:YAG laser emitting at = 2.09 m is obtained.  相似文献

The results of NMR/ON measurements on56,57,60Co isotopes in iron are presented in the paper. To avoid the uncertainties caused by local demagnetizing field inhomogeneities the measurements on two cobalt isotopes in one sample have been carried out. The values of nuclear-factors ratios 57/ 60=1·805(20), 60/ 56 = 0·761(20), 56/ 57 = 0·726(20) and hyperfme anomalies56 60 = –0·036(10),60 57 = 0·017(10) and57 56 = 0·018(10) have been calculated from the experimental results.Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.  相似文献

The method of data processing of two-dimensional coincidence spectra is described and its application for the --coincidence spectra analysis in155Tb is shown. The existence of levels with energies 86·5; 105·3; 118·0; 235·2; 266·6; 268·6; 286·8; 326·0; 367·7; 427· 4; 451·3; 488·8 keV in155Gd nucleus is proved on the basis of --coincidences measured in155Tb decay with Ge(Li)-detectors. Two new transitions with energies of 192 and 163 keV were found.  相似文献

The entire sodium ion content of sodium alumina (Na1.67Mg0.67Al10.33O17) can be replaced with a variety of lanthanide ions by simple diffusion reactions at moderate temperatures (500–700°C). Lanthanide alumina crystals are hard, clear, chemically stable, and have well-defined crystal structures. The fluorescence spectrum of Nd3+ in alumina is similar to that in YAG. The lifetime of the4 F 3/2 state of Nd3+ in completely-exchanged alumina (350s at 1021 Nd3+ cm–3) is about 45% longer than in YAG (240s at 1020Nd3+ cm–3). The lanthanide aluminas may be of considerable interest as new phosphor and laser host materials.  相似文献

The measurements of diffuse reflectance spectra in the range of 400; 2500 nm and of photoacoustic spectra in the range of 350; 800 nm were used for the study of the influence of iron (III) oxide and lathanum oxide additions on the band structure of polycrystalline lead zirconate — lead titanate solid solutions. The molar ratio of zirconium and titanium in the studied solid solutions was 60 40, and the concentrations of the dopants werex FeO1.5, andy LaO1.5, werex 0; 0·05 mol, andy 0; 0·10 mol, respectively. The diffuse reflectance spectra were expressed in terms of the Kubelka-Munk function values versus incident electromagnetic radiation energy. These dependences were decomposed into partial absorption bands using a computer. Transitions of charged carriers between energy levels or bands which differ mutually by the energy of 0·9, 1·2–1·3, 1·6, 1·65–1·7, 2·4–2·5, 2·75–2·8, 2·9–3·2, 3·4–3·8 eV, were identified. Their intensities depend on the concentration of Fe and/or on La in the Pb(Zr0.60 Ti0.40) solid solutions.The authors are very grateful to Mrs. Iva Havlasová, Vra Andrsová, Ing. This work reports a novel process combination, which is capable of forming large hole matrices (100 pores/mm2) in thin stainless steel foils (10 mfoil<300 m) maintaining high processing rates and pore widths smaller than 5 m. This technique perforates stainless steel foils with high-speed on-the-fly laser perforation (60000 drillings/min) followed by a cold-roll forming of the laser-treated foil. The cold-roll forming leads to a pore-size reduction (in one dimension) perpendicular to the rolling direction. For the laser processing a diode-pumped, q-switched and frequency-tripled Nd:YAG laser (=355 nm, =30 ns), and a flashlamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser (=1064 nm, =57 s) were applied. Using this process combination, minimum pore sizes of 3.5 m have been achieved. At present, the processing efficiency of cold-rolled percussion drillings inserted with nanosecond pulse durations is lower in comparison with single-pulse on-the-fly perforation, but in terms of quality (straight pore channel, low standard deviation of pore widths and pore widths smaller than 5 m) well suited for various fields in filtration (e.g. particle removal) . Using the DFT Becke–Lee–Yang–Parr exchangecorrelation threeparametric functional (B3LYP), we have calculated the geometry, the electron density distribution, and the vibration frequencies for pyrrole, porphin, and their 13 analogs with a regularly varying structure. It is shown that the determining role in the change in the frequencies of stretching and outofplane deformation vibrations of porphin compared to pyrrole is played by intramolecular hydrogen bonds at the porphyrin macroring center. We have separately considered and compared with the data for porphin complexes of pyrrole with different intermolecular hydrogen bonds: with an aromatic ring (NH··· cluster formed by the pyrrole selfaggregation in the liquid state) and an unshared electron pair (NH···OH2 and NH···NC4H4 clusters). The degree of participation of the NH group in the hydrogen bonds increases in the series NH··· cluster, porphin, NH···OH2 and NH···NC4H4 clusters.  相似文献
