The positron lifetime and DSC measerments for EBBA and DOBAMBC have been made with heating and cooling clycles. The experimental results show that a shorter lifetime (1) is essentially independent of temperature while the longer lifetime (2) and the intensity (I 2) change abruptly double or triple with temperature. Consequently, the EBBA has only nematic phases while the DOBAMBC has two liquid-crystalline phases (smectic C* and smectic A) with transition temperatures as follows: for EBBA, solid nematic (304.5 K), nematic isotropic (356.5 K), isotropic nematic (356.5 K), nematic solid (301 K); and for DOBAMBC, solid smectic C* (346 K), smectic C* smectic A (357.5 K), smectic A isotropic (389 K). These critical temperatures are in accordance with the transition temperatures measured by DSC. In addition, the difference in the solid-nematic transition temperature in the heating and cooling cycles was also observed. A discussion about the correlation of the observed changes in lifetime (2) with the changes in molecular orientational order (S) and dielectric anisotropy () is presented.  相似文献

The field-dependent magnetizationm(H, T) of one- and two-dimensional classical magnets described by theD-component vector model is calculated analytically in the whole range of temperature and magnetic fields with the help of the 1/D expansion. In the first order in 1/D the theory reproduces with a good accuracy the temperature dependence of the zero-field susceptibility of antiferromagnets with maximum atT|J 0|/D (J 0 is the Fourier component of the exchange interaction) and describes for the first time the singular behavior of (H, T) at small temperatures and magnetic fields: lim T0 lim H0 (H, T)=1/(2|J 0|)(1–1/D) and lim H0 lim T0 (H, T)=1/(2|J 0|).  相似文献

We study the anisotropic square lattice Ising antiferromagnet in terms of three parameters: an external magnetic field B, an effective temperature and an anisotropy parameterK. The model, i.e., partition function and free energy, is solved exactly in the anisotropic limit,K0, for arbitrary temperature and field by using the transfer matrix method. We also calculate the first corrections beyond this limit. The limit is non trivial and the phase transition is completely preserved. It is of the expected Ising type. The transition temperature c (B, K) is determined exactly for bothK0 andK and the results are used to check the validity of a recently conjectured formula by Müller-Hartmann and the author.  相似文献

The influence of reabsorption on emission spectra of NdxLa1–x P5O14 for the4F3 4I9/2 and4F3/2 4I11/2 transitions was studied. The comparison of theoretical curves calculated with the reabsorption taken into account with experimental curves enabled us to explain so far observed spectra and prove the validity of the present model of fluorescence in these materials.Dedicated to Professor Miroslav Trlifaj on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.The authors are indebted to M. The reaction p K0+ was measured in the photon energy range from threshold up to 2.6 GeV with the SAPHIR detector at the electron stretcher facility, ELSA, in Bonn. Results are presented on the reaction cross-section and the polarization of the + as a function of the kaon production angle in the centre-of-mass system, cosc.m.K, and the photon energy. The cross-section is lower and varies less with photon energy and kaon production angle than that of p K+0. The + is polarized predominantly at cosc.m.K 0. The data presented here are more precise than previous ones obtained with SAPHIR and extend the photon energy range to higher values. They are compared to isobar model calculations.  相似文献

In the special type of the quark model we obtain the ratio=h A/hV of the axial (hA) and vector (hV) form factors for the decays e ¯ve and K e¯ve different from unity. The low-energy theorem, relating the electric polarizability of the charged pion with the ratio, is analyzed. It is shown that < 1 corresponds to , calculated by accounting the contribution of the scalar meson(700) into the amplitude of the Compton effect on the pion. Capacitively coupled radio-frequency (13.56 MHz) glow discharge in argon at low pressure (200 mTorr) has been studied by optical emission spectroscopy (OES) and electrical probe. Increasing power density resulted in lowering of the electron temperature T e and increase of the electron density n e. The to transition in this case takes place smoothly. The intensity (I 750.4) of the emission line at 750.4 nm due to 2p11s2 transition closely follows the variation of n e with power density. Calculation of the electron-energy probability function shows that electron occupation mainly changes in the high-energy tail, which explains close resemblance of I 750.4 to n e. At moderate pressures, only OES method was applied to observe - transition which is abrupt in this pressure range.  相似文献

In a continuation of an earlier study, the electromagnetic fields of a point magnetic moment — a magneton — in uniform rectilinear motion, with a given spin precession, are analyzed. It is shown that the same equations can be found through Lorentz transformations from the corresponding expressions in the rest frame. The relationship between the electric and magnetic fieldsE andH radiated by a point magnetic dipole moment and a point electric dipole moment is derived through the use of dual transformations of the electromagnetic field tensor. It is assumed that each moment is in relativistic and otherwise arbitrary motion. In the relativistic case, as in the nonrelativistic case, the switch is accompanied by the replacementsHE, E-H. A covariant formalism is developed for describing the electromagnetic fields in the wave zone. The electromagnetic field tensor associated with the radiation is analyzed.V. V. The probabilities of KL,S l+l decays are calculated by considering only the dominant two-lepton channel KL,S * * l+l. The transitions K0 X, where X=0,, or (700) dominating in the KL,S * *decay amplitudes, are described by the effective weak Lagrangian. The matrix elements of four-quark operators are calculated within the framework of the quark model of superconductivity type. It is shown that the leading contribution to matrix elements of K0 X transitions comes from the penguin operator matrix elements.  相似文献

An anomalous splitting of theJ=0J=1 multiplet transition has been observed by magnetic neutron scattering from intermediate valent Sm0.75Y0.25S. The splitting is discussed in terms of a resonant coupling of optical phonons to the magnetic exciton built from the localizedJ=0J=1 multiplet transition by magnetic intersite coupling.  相似文献

We compute probabilities for the processes ee+Z+H, and e++eZ+H in a superstrong magnetic field. It is shown that the magnetobremsstrahlung of the Higgs boson with the Z boson in the magnetic field Bs>B0=m2/e=4.41·1013 G may be a relatively probable process, and that the superstrong magnetic field significantly influences the process e++eZ+H, which is possible even in the absence of the field.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 1, pp. 104–108, January, 1991.The author thanks V. The method of complex angular moments is used to analyze the experimental data on the inelastic reactions p ()K, taking into account branch cuts in the j-plane in the eikonal approximation. An optical model for the backward scattering is considered. Agreement with experiment is obtained in the region of small angles for the reactions (0)K0. The absolute quantum yield and duration of 5 D 7 F j luminescence of the Eu3+ ion in europium trisnaphthoyltrifluoroacetonate has been measured on excitation of luminescence in the UV S 0 S 1 absorption band of the ligand in the temperature range 77–365 K. Based on the analysis of the experimental dependences obtained and solution of the balance equations for stationary and nonstationary cases, we have developed a new approach to the determination of the scheme and rate constants of actual transitions. The rate constants of all processes of electron excitation energy conversion have been determined. The role of the state with charge transfer in these processes has been revealed.  相似文献

We study in this Letter the asymptotic behavior, as t+, of the solutions of the one-dimensional Caldirola-Kanai equation for a large class of potentials satisfying the condition V(x)+ as |x|. We show, first of all, that if I is a closed interval containing no critical points of V, then the probability P t (t) of finding the particle inside I tends to zero as t+. On the other hand, when I contains critical points of V in its interior, we prove that P t (t) does not oscillate indefinitely, but tends to a limit as t+. In particular, when the potential has only isolated critical points x 1, ..., x N our results imply that the probability density of the particle tends to in the sense of distributions.Supported by Fulbright-MEC grant 85-07391.  相似文献

TheK S 0 0 l + l andK L 0 0 l + l decays are considered within the framework of the Standard model in the one-photon exchange approximation, i.e.K S,L 0 0+ *0 +l + l . To evaluate the low-energy matrix elements of theK 0(¯K 0)0+ * transitions, the constituentquark-loop approximation, based on the extended Nambu-Jona-Lasino (NJL) model, is used. We study kaonic deuterium, the bound K-d state AK d. Within a quantum field-theoretic and relativistic covariant approach we derive the energy level displacement of the ground state of kaonic deuterium in terms of the amplitude of K-d scattering for arbitrary relative momenta. Near threshold our formula reduces to the well-known DGBT formula. The S-wave amplitude of K-d scattering near threshold is defined by the resonances (1405), (1750) and a smooth elastic background, and the inelastic channels K-d NY and K-d NY, where Y = ±,{0} and {0}, where the final-state interactions play an important role. The Ericson-Weise formula for the S-wave scattering length of K-d scattering is derived. The total width of the energy level of the ground state of kaonic deuterium is estimated using the theoretical predictions of the partial widths of the two-body decays AKd NY and experimental data on the rates of the NY pair production in the reactions K-d NY. We obtain {1s} = (630±100)eV. For the shift of the energy level of the ground state of kaonic deuterium we predict {1s} = (325±60)eV.  相似文献

The influence of Fermi surface anisotropy on the superconducting transition temperature of strong coupling superconductors containing magnetic and nonmagnetic impurities is investigated. It is found that the concentration dependent transition temperature shows typical departures from the corresponding curve of a single-band isotropic superconductor. These departures occur either for very small ( ij) or for very large ( ij0) interband scattering of conduction electrons on nonmagnetic impurities (i, j label the states in different bands or in different zones of the Fermi surface). In the case of unequal cut-off frequencies for different zones on the Fermi surface it is shown that all effects of unequal cut-offs can be eliminated by introducing effective electron-phonon pairing interactions. In the presence of impurities these effective pairing interactions become weakly impurity dependent giving rise to a new pair-weakening mechanism. Quantitative results on the basis of a simple two-band or two-zone model are presented.  相似文献

Conclusion In summary our results show that photoconductivity and optical absorption under cyclotron resonance conditions in high purity n-GaAs are more complex than it has been assumed previously. As cyclotron resonance can only be measured with non zero free electron concentration, and because the 2p shallow donor level remains below the N=0 Landau level for all magnetic field strengths, a certain population of 2p states must be present and thus the interference between both absorption processes is unavoidable as long as 2p 2p + electric dipole transitions are activated by ionized impuritics. This interference gets most drastically manifest at high intensities causing an apparent splitting of the photoconductivity line. Even at lower intensities however when the dip in the photoconductivity line is not observable, all optical characteristics previously attributed to cyclotron resonance are affected by the shallow donor absorption. The energy separationE 2p+E 2p of shallow donors in a magnetic field is exactly equal to w CR only for isolated impurities in the effective mass approximation. The same electric stray field of ionized impurities which cause the activation of 2p 2p + absorption may shift the donor energy levels due to stark effect. For magnetic field strengthsB<1 T a field dependent deviation ofE 2 +E 1p from the cyclotron resonance quantum energy was observed [15] amounting up to 8 pc. In this case we expect that the peak positions of photoconductivity and absorption do not spectrally coincide and do not occur at the resonance magnetic field strength of 01 Landau level transitions. Thus effective masses determined by standard cyclotron resonance methods at low magnetic fields may be incorrect by a few percent.  相似文献
