The aim of this paper is to show a way to find an explicit parametrization of rational isotropic congruences of lines in Euclidean three-space It will be shown that also the focal surfaces of these congruences admit a rational parametrization. Furthermore, the close relation of isotropic congruences of lines to minimal surfaces will be used to find the related polynomial minimal surfaces.  相似文献

A system of equations determining normal congruences with focal surfaces (bicylinders) is found in a biaxial space of hyperbolic type by using a moving frame of the space and the method of Cartan exterior forms. Summary Special Congruences were studied by Prasad[2]. In this paper, we shall establish results relating to the special congruences in a hypersurface of a Finsler space. The problem of characterizing the lattices of equational theories is still unsolved. In this paper we describe a class of monoids enriched by two unary operations and show that a lattice L is a lattice of equational theories if and only if L is isomorphic to a lattice of congruences of some enriched monoid belonging to . We obtain new complete minimal surfaces in the hyperbolic space H3, by using Ribaucour transformations. Starting with the family of spherical catenoids in H~3 found by Mori(1981), we obtain 2-and 3-parameter families of new minimal surfaces in the hyperbolic space, by solving a non trivial integro-differential system. Special choices of the parameters provide minimal surfaces whose parametrizations are defined on connected regions of R~2 minus a disjoint union of Jordan curves. Any connected region bounded by such a Jordan curve, generates a complete minimal surface, whose boundary at infinity of H~3 is a closed curve. The geometric properties of the surfaces regarding the ends, completeness and symmetries are discussed.  相似文献

Semi-parallel immersions are defined as extrinsic analogue for semi-symmetric spaces and as a direct generalization of parallel immersions. Using results of Backes on Euclidean Jordan triple systems, the totally geodesic immersions are shown to be the only minimal semi-parallel immersions into a Euclidean space. Let be the three-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. In this paper we will construct new examples of complete maximal space like surfaces in . Moreover, we will prove that any complete maximal space like surface in with principal curvatures ±κ bounded away from zero must be isometric to the hyperbolic cylinder. Since the new examples that we have constructed have exactly two principal curvatures everywhere, we conclude that the condition on the principal curvatures on the previous result, i.e. the condition |κ(m)|>c>0, cannot be replaced by the condition |κ(m)|>0.  相似文献

Let V be a vector space of dimension v over a field of order q. The q-Kneser graph has the k-dimensional subspaces of V as its vertices, where two subspaces α and β are adjacent if and only if is the zero subspace. This paper is motivated by the problem of determining the chromatic numbers of these graphs. This problem is trivial when k=1 (and the graphs are complete) or when v<2k (and the graphs are empty). We establish some basic theory in the general case. Then specializing to the case k=2, we show that the chromatic number is q2+q when v=4 and (qv-1-1)/(q-1) when v>4. In both cases we characterise the minimal colourings.  相似文献

Take positive integers m, n and d. Let Y be an m-fold cyclic cover of Pn ramified over a general hypersurface XPn of degree md. In this paper we study the space F(Y) of lines in Y and show that it is smooth of dimension 2(n1)d(m1) if md>2n3 and 2(n1)d(m1)0. When 2(n1)=d(m1), our result gives a formula on the number of m-contact order lines of X (see Definition 1.2).  相似文献
