We have measured the spin correlation parameter A00nn and the polarization A00n0 for p-p elastic scattering in the c.m. angular range between 30° and 90° at seven energies between 400 and 600 MeV. The experiment was performed at SIN using a polarized beam and target and a fast on-line event reconstruction method. The results are compared with phase-shift predictions.  相似文献

The spin correlation parameters Aoosk and Aookk were measured at 0.834 and 0.995 GeV using the SATURNE II polarized proton beam and the Saclay frozen spin polarized target. The measurements were carried out in the angular region φCM from 50° to ≃ 90°. The shape of the angular distribution Aoosk (pp) = f(θCM) changes rapidly from 0.8 to 1.0 GeV. The spin correlation parameter Aookk in pp elastic scattering was measured using the SATURNE II polarized proton beam and the Saclay frozen spin polarized target. The measurements at 0.88 and 1.1 GeV were carried out in the angular region θCM from 28° to ⋍ 50° and complete our previous measurements from 45° to 90°. Above 1.1 GeV the measurements presented here cover both regions, extending from θCM = 28° (at the lower energies) or θCM = 18° (at the higher energies) to θCM > 90°. The shape of the angular distribution Aookk (pp) = f(θCM) changes considerably between in our energy region.  相似文献

We present the measurements of the spin correlation parameterA ookk (np). A longitudinally polarized beam of free neutrons obtained from the break-up of polarized deuterons was scattered on the longitudinally polarized Saclay frozen-spin proton target. Measurements were carried out at SATURNE II, at neutron beam kinetic energies of 0.63, 0.88, 0.98 and 1.08 GeV. The data points cover the angular region from about 40° to 110° CM. The observed angular dependence ofA ookk (np) at 0.63 GeV agree with the phase shift analysis predictions except at small angles.  相似文献

We have measured the asymmetry parameter A and the spin correlation parameter Ann in pp elastic scattering, using the Argonne ZGS polarized proton beam and a polarized proton target. Angular distributions of A and Ann for |t| ? 0.2 (GeV/c)2wereobtainedateightmomentabetween 1.10 and 2if2.75 GeV/c. We find significant structure in both the energy and t-dependence of Ann at these energies. At plab ≈ 1.34 GeV/cAnn reaches a very large value of about 0.8–0.9 near θcm = 90°.  相似文献

The neutron-proton spin correlation coefficient Ayy was measured at 90° c.m. by elastic scattering of 13.7 MeV polarized neutrons from a polarized proton target. The target polarization of about 60% was produced in a LMN single crystal by dynamic nuclear orientation using 70 GHz microwaves. The target was thin enough to allow the detection of the recoil protons in coincidence with the associated scattered neutrons. Our result for Ayy is the first experimental determination of a neutron-proton spin correlation parameter at such a low energy. To determine the influence of Ayy on the 3S1-3D1 mixing parameter ε1, a single-energy n-p phase shift analysis was performed using the experimentally determined value of Ayy= 0.078 ± 0.014 along with analyzing power and cross section data. As expected, the result for ε1 changes drastically upon the inclusion of Ayy. An unexpectedly small value of ε1 = −0.16°±0.54° has been obtained in the present analysis.  相似文献

A polarized proton beam extracted from SATURNE II was scattered on an unpolarized CH2 target. The angular distribution of the beam analyzing power Aoono was measured at large angles from 1.98 to 2.8 GeV and at 0.80 GeV nominal beam kinetic energy. The same observable was determined at the fixed mean laboratory angle of 13.9° in the same energy range. Both measurements are by-products of an experiment measuring the spin correlation parameter Aoon.  相似文献

The susceptibilities of polycrystalline samples of various antiferromagnetic linear-chain compounds ANiX3 (A =Tl, NH4, Rb, Cs and X = Cl, Br) have been measured in the temperature region 2–200 °K. The results, amongst which the already known data for RbNiCl3 and CsNiCl3, are interpreted in terms of a theory, developed by Weng, for antiferromagnetic Heisenberg linear-chain systems with spin S = 1. By means of Oguchi's Green function theory and the experimentally determined transition temperatures TN the order of magnitude of the ratio between inter- and intra-chain interaction is obtained.  相似文献

The analyzing power Aγ(θ) was obtained at 10° intervals between 30° (lab) to 120° (lab) for 2H(n, n)2H at 12.0 MeV. The polarized neutron beam employed in the measurement was obtained by using neutrons emitted at 0° from the polarization transfer reaction 2H(d, n)3He. The accuracy in the Aγ(θ) values that was achieved ranged from ± 0.006 to ± 0.013. Comparison of the data to Aγ(θ) results obtained at 12 MeV for the charge symmetric reaction 2H(p, p)2H shows that the two Aγ(θ) distributions are equal to within the above accuracy.  相似文献

Double spin effects in polarized pp-elastic scattering in the Coulomb nuclear interference (CNI) region are sensitive to small contributions to the nuclear amplitude in addition to Pomeron exchange dominating at high energies. Measurements of double spin asymmetries require external luminosity normalization using collision counts for all spin combinations. Several possible sources of such data from various STAR subsystems were thoroughly analyzed to make the best choice. BBC arrays were found to be free of double spin effects to the level of ~ 2 × 10?4 thus leading to the systematic uncertainty ~10?3 in the value of (A NN + A SS )/2.  相似文献

Magnetic susceptibility of (CH3NH3)2FeCl3Br is measured in the temperature range 80–200°K. A sharp peak characteristic of a spin canted system is found at TN(H=0)=98° K. Magnetic field dependence of the susceptibility and the effect of the halide ion size on the canted spin is discussed.  相似文献

An internal polarized gas target in conjunction with a beam of polarized protons stored in the IUCF Cooler storage ring has been used to measure analyzing power and spin correlation parameters between 200 MeV and 450 MeV over a wide range of angles. A consistent absolute beam and target polarization calibration was established by ramping the stored protons up and down in energy. The analyzing power A y and the spin correlations A xx , A yy and A xz were measured with transverse beam polarization, while determination of A zz required the development of a longitudinally polarized beam. First experiments on the spin dependence on π0-production have recently been carried out.  相似文献

Single crystal EPR studies of NH+3 doped in the K+ sites of lithium potassium sulfate (LKS) have been carried out from room temperature down to −150°C. The spin Hamiltonian parameters have been evaluated for the three phases which occur in this temperature range, P I (room temperature) (AN)XX = (AN)YY = 23.2 G and (AN)ZZ = 10.4 G; P II (below −69°C) (AN)XX = (AN)XX = 22.3 G and (AN)ZZ = 11.7 G; P III (below −83°C) (AN)XX = 8.9 G, (AN)YY = 20.8 G and (AN)ZZ = 25.9 G. The P I–P II transition at −69° C is rather sluggish and shows a mixed phase for 2.5–3 h. In P III the principal component (AN)ZZ moves out by an angle of 1.4° from the b-axis. The space group of this phase is most probably not Cmc21.  相似文献

LiFeCl4 and AgFeCl4 are obtained by direct reaction between LiCl or AgCl and FeCl3 at 300°C and 400°C respectively. Both compounds are monoclinic with a = 7.02 (1) A?, b = 6.33 (1) A?, c = 12.72 (4) A?, β = 92° (30') for LiFeCl4 and a = 10.60 (5) A?, b = 6.30 (5) A?, c = 12.34 (10) A?, β = 106° (1) for AgFeCl4.LiFeCl4 is clearly isotypic of LiAlCl4. Magnetic measurements characterize in both cases Fe3+ ions in a high spin tetrahedral situation. LiFeCl4 becomes antiferromagnetic at low temperature (TN?10 K). AgFeCl4 reveals a more complex situation. On contrary to the silver derivative, LiFeCl4 is a good ionic conductor with activation energy of 0.78 eV in the solid state below 105°C, and a sharp increase in the lithium mobility at this temperature.  相似文献

Divalent manganese ions are found in potassium chromate single crystals after heating at 600°C in the presence of iodine. These ions occupy three differently oriented sites with the same spin Hamiltonian parameters: gz = 2·000, gx = 2·008, gy = 2·015; Az = ?88·4 G, Ax = Ay = ?91 G; D = 190 and E = ?30 G.The authors suggest that Mn2+ occupies a substitutional (K+) position rather than an interstitial one. A survey of available experimental data on the measurement of spin observables in neutron-proton (np) elastic scattering in the neutron energy range 200–600 MeV is presented. Sixteen spin observables (the polarization of recoil particles P 0n00, the analyzing power A 00n0, the spin correlation parameters A 00nn , A 00ss , A 00sk , and A 00kk , the spin transfer parameters K 0nn0, K 0ss0, and K 0sk0, the depolarization parameters D 0n0n , D 0s0s , and D 0s0k , and the three-spin parameters N 0nkk , N 0skn , N 0ssn , and N 0sns for energies of 200–590 MeV and scattering angles in the center of mass system of 60°–164°) were studied in experiments using polarized neutron beams and polarized proton targets at the Paul Scherrer Institute. The results of these investigations present a complete set of precision data on np elastic scattering which, along with the complete set of data for proton-proton (pp) elastic scattering obtained earlier, provides a basis for unambiguous determination of the amplitudes of the scattering matrix for nucleon-nucleon (NN) elastic scattering for the channel with the isotopic spin I = 0 and makes it possible to describe NN interaction in a model-independent way.  相似文献
