EXISTENCE OF PERIODIC SOLUTIONS OF SYSTEM OF DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS

This paper studies the nonautonomous nonlinear system of difference equationsΔx(n)=A(n)x(n)+f(n,x(n)),n∈Z,(*) where x(n)∈R~N,A(n)=(a_(ij)(n))N×N is an N×N matrix,with a-(ij)∈C(R,R) for i,j= 1,2,3,...,N,and f=(f_1,f_2,...,f_N)~T∈C(R×R~N,R~N),satisfying A(t+ω)=A(t),f(t+ω,z)=f(t,z) for any t∈R,(t,z)∈R×R~N andωis a positive integer.Sufficient conditions for the existence ofω-periodic solutions to equations (*) are obtained.     

On a Class of Infinite-Dimensional Hamiltonian Systems with Asymptotically Periodic Nonlinearities

The authors study the existence of homoclinic type solutions for the following system of diffusion equations on R × RN:{■tu-xu + b ·▽xu + au + V(t,x)v = Hv(t,x,u,v),-■tv-xv-b·▽xv + av + V(t,x)u = Hu(t,x,u,v),where z =(u,v):R × RN → Rm × Rm,a > 0,b =(b1,···,bN) is a constant vector and V ∈ C(R × RN,R),H ∈ C1(R × RN × R2m,R).Under suitable conditions on V(t,x) and the nonlinearity for H(t,x,z),at least one non-stationary homoclinic solution with least energy is obtained.     

THE EXISTENCE OF NONTRIVIAL SOLUTIONS TO A SEMILINEAR ELLIPTIC SYSTEM ON RN WITHOUT THE AMBROSETTI-RABINOWITZ CONDITION

In this paper, we prove the existence of at least one positive solution pair (u, v) ∈ H 1 (R N ) × H 1 (R N ) to the following semilinear elliptic system{-u + u = f(x, v), x ∈RN ,-v + v = g(x,u), x ∈ R N ,(0.1) by using a linking theorem and the concentration-compactness principle. The main con-ditions we imposed on the nonnegative functions f, g ∈ C 0 (R N × R 1 ) are that, f (x, t) and g(x, t) are superlinear at t = 0 as well as at t = +∞, that f and g are subcritical in t and satisfy a kind of monotonic conditions. We mention that we do not assume that f or g satisfies the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition as usual. Our main result can be viewed as an extension to a recent result of Miyagaki and Souto [J. Diff. Equ. 245(2008), 3628-3638] concerning the existence of a positive solution to the semilinear elliptic boundary value problem{-u + u = f(x, u), x ∈Ω,u ∈H10(Ω)where ΩRN is bounded and a result of Li and Yang [G. Li and J. Yang: Communications in P.D.E. Vol. 29(2004) Nos.5 6.pp.925–954, 2004] concerning (0.1) when f and g are asymptotically linear.     

Hölder,Sobolev,weak-type and BMO estimates in mixed-norm with weights for parabolic equations

We prove weighted mixed-norm Lqt(W2,px)and Lqt(C2,αx)estimates for 10,x∈Rn.x∈Rn,The coefficients a(t)=(aij(t))are just bounded,measurable,symmetric and uniformly elliptic.Furthermore,we show strong,weak type and BMO-Sobolev estimates with parabolic Muckenhoupt weights.It is quite remarkable that most of our results are new even for the classical heat equation?tu?Δu+u=f.     

Source-type solutions of heat equations with convection in several variables space

In this paper we study the source-type solution for the heat equation with convection: ut = △u + ■· ▽un for (x,t) ∈ ST→ RN × (0,T] and u(x,0) = δ(x) for x ∈ RN, where δ(x) denotes Dirac measure in = RN,N 2,n 0 and b = (b1,...,bN) ∈ RN is a vector. It is shown that there exists a critical number pc = N+2 such that the source-type solution to the above problem exists and is unique if 0 N n < pc and there exists a unique similarity source-type solution in the case n = N+1 , while such a solution does not exist...     

NEW PROOFS OF THE DECAY ESTIMATE WITH SHARP RATE OF THE GLOBAL WEAK SOLUTION OF THE n-DIMENSIONAL INCOMPRESSIBLE NAVIER-STOKES EQUATIONS

Consider the Cauchy problem for the n-dimensional incompressible NavierStokes equations:??tu-α△u+(u·?)u+?p = f(x, t), with the initial condition u(x, 0) = u0(x) and with the incompressible conditions ? · u = 0, ? · f = 0 and ? · u0= 0. The spatial dimension n ≥ 2.Suppose that the initial function u0∈ L1(Rn) ∩ L2(Rn) and the external force f ∈ L1(Rn× R+) ∩ L1(R+, L2(Rn)). It is well known that there holds the decay estimate with sharp rate:(1 + t)1+n/2∫Rn|u(x, t)|2 dx ≤ C, for all time t 0, where the dimension n ≥ 2, C 0 is a positive constant, independent of u and(x, t).The main purpose of this paper is to provide two independent proofs of the decay estimate with sharp rate, both are complete, systematic, simplified proofs, under a weaker condition on the external force. The ideas and methods introduced in this paper may have strong influence on the decay estimates with sharp rates of the global weak solutions or the global smooth solutions of similar equations, such as the n-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics equations, where the dimension n ≥ 2.

Existence of positive solutions for a general nonlinear eigenvalue problem

Let Ω R n be a bounded domain, H = L 2 (Ω), L : D(L) H → H be an unbounded linear operator, f ∈ C(■× R, R) and λ∈ R. The paper is concerned with the existence of positive solutions for the following nonlinear eigenvalue problem Lu = λf (x, u), u ∈ D(L), which is the general form of nonlinear eigenvalue problems for differential equations. We obtain the global structure of positive solutions, then we apply the results to some nonlinear eigenvalue problems for a second-order ordinary differential equation and a fourth-order beam equation, respectively. The discussion is based on the fixed point index theory in cones.

Estimation of the number of components of finite mixtures of multivariate distributions

An estimator of the number of components of a finite mixture ofk-dimensional distributions is given on the basis of a one-dimensional independent random sample obtained by a transformation of ak-dimensional independent random sample. A consistency of the estimator is shown. Some simulation results are given in a case of finite mixtures of two-dimensional normal distributions.     

Galois Structure of K-Groups of Rings of Integers

N/Kbe a Galois extension of number fields with finite Galois group G.We describe a new approach for constructing invariants of the G-module structure of the K groups of the ring of integers of N in the Grothendieck group of finitely generated projective Z[G]modules. In various cases we can relate these classes, and their function field counterparts, to the root number class of Fröhlich and Cassou-Noguès.     

Eigenvector p-Bases of Rings of Constants of Derivations

Let A be a UFD of characteristic p > 0, let 𝒵 be a set of some eigenvectors of a derivation of A. We prove, under some additional assumptions, a necessary and sufficient condition for 𝒵 to be a p-basis of the minimal ring of constants containing 𝒵. The main preparatory result is the unique decomposition theorem with respect to a factor from a given subalgebra containing A^p.

In this paper we determine the minimum and maximum values of the sum of squares of degrees of bipartite graphs with a given number of vertices and edges.

在实际的指派工作中，常会遇到某个人有没有资格去承担某项工作的问题，因此，本建立了有资格限制的指派问题的数学模型。在此数学模型中，将效益矩阵转化为判定矩阵，由此给出了判定此种指派问题是否有解的方法；在有解的情况下，进一步将效益矩阵转化为求解矩阵，从而将有资格限制的指派问题化为传统的指派问题来求解。最后给出了一个数值例子来说明这样的处理方法是有效的。

On Sums of Coefficients of Products of Polynomials

We study the nilpotency of the sums of all coefficients of some sorts of products of polynomials over reversible, IFP, and NI rings, and introduce an SCN ring as a generalization. We characterize SCN rings in relation with related ring properties, and also provide several useful properties and ring extensions of SCN rings.     

Convergence of sequences of sets of associated primes

It is a well-known result of M. Brodmann that if is an ideal of a commutative Noetherian ring , then the set of associated primes of the -th power of is constant for all large . This paper is concerned with the following question: given a prime ideal of which is known to be in for all large integers , can one identify a term of the sequence beyond which will subsequently be an ever-present? This paper presents some results about convergence of sequences of sets of associated primes of graded components of finitely generated graded modules over a standard positively graded commutative Noetherian ring; those results are then applied to the above question.

     

Radius of convexity of certain classes of analytic functions

We consider the classes of analytic functions introduced recently by K.I. Noor which are defined by conditions joining ideas of close-to-convex and of bounded boundary rotation functions. We investigate coefficients estimates and radii of convexity.
