Saito and Ueda [Phys. Rev. A 59, 3959 (1999)] studied atomic and
radiation squeezing in interaction of a single mode coherent state
of radiation with two excited two-level atoms, using
the Jaynes Cummings Hamiltonian. They considered α real and studied
squeezing of the Dicke operator Sx using the Kitagawa-Ueda criterion for
squeezing and coupling times less than or nearly equal to
. We obtain results to all orders in coupling time for
atoms, which are initially in (i) fully excited, (ii) superradiant or in
(iii) ground states and obtain more general results. We use our recently
reported criterion for atomic squeezing, of which the Kitagawa-Ueda
criterion is a special case, and obtain a much stronger (nearly 95%)
atomic squeezing than that (nearly 1.1%) reported by Saito and Ueda. 相似文献

We investigate the entanglement in a system of two coupling atoms
interacting with a single-mode field
by means of quantum information entropy theory.
The quantum entanglement between the two atoms and the coherent field is discussed by using
the quantum reduced entropy,
and the entanglement between the two coupling atoms is also investigated
by using the quantum relative entropy.
In addition, the influences of the atomic dipole--dipole interaction
intensity and
the average photon number of the coherent field on the degree of the entanglement is examined.
The results show that the evolution of the degree of entanglement between the two atoms
and the field is just opposite to that of the degree of entanglement between the two atoms.
And the properties of the quantum entanglement in the system rely on the
atomic dipole--dipole

The entanglement properties of the system of two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode vacuum field are explored. The quantum entanglement between two two-level atoms and a single-mode vacuum field is investigated by using the quantum reduced entropy; the quantum entanglement between two two-level atoms, and that between a single two-level atom and a single-mode vacuum field are studied in terms of the quantum relative entropy. The influences of the atomic dipole--dipole interaction on the quantum entanglement of the system are also discussed. Our results show that three entangled states of two atoms--field, atom--atom, and atom--field can be prepared via two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode vacuum field. 相似文献

We investigate the entanglement properties of the two-mode coherent fields interacting with a two-level atom via the two-photon transition. We discuss the quantum entanglement between the two-mode coherent fields and the two-level atom by using the quantum reduced entropy and that between the two-mode coherent fields by using the quantum relative entropy. We also examine the influences of the initial states of the atom and the two-mode coherent fields on the quantum entanglement of the system. Our results show that three types of entangled states can be prepared via the two-mode coherent fields interacting with a two-level atom and choosing appropriately the initial-state parameters of the system. 相似文献

The influence that dipole-dipole interactions exert on the dynamics of the magnetization of nanometer-sized Co clusters has been studied by means of ac and dc susceptibility experiments. These clusters grow in a quasiordered layered structure, where all relevant parameters can be tailored and measured independently. Our data show without ambiguity that the magnetic relaxation becomes slower as the degree of interaction increases. The effective activation energy increases linearly with the number of nearest neighbor clusters, evolving from the value for a 2D layer to the fully 3D behavior, which is nearly reached for five layers. The experimental results agree quantitatively with the predictions of a simple model. 相似文献

The dynamics of appearance of a steady entangled state in an ensemble of two collectively decaying two-level atoms is studied on the basis of the Peres-Horodecki criterion with regard to the dipole-dipole interaction between the atoms and their frequency detuning. It is ascertained that, in the absence of dipole-dipole interaction, the steady-state entanglement is in many respects due to the coincidence of the frequencies of transitions in the atoms, whereas a difference in the frequencies, related to different positions of the atoms in a crystal or their thermal motion, destroys the steady-state entanglement. Upon a dipole-dipole interaction, a steady-state entanglement also exists and, in this case, depends strongly on the relationship between the magnitude of the dipole-dipole interaction, the constant of coupling with a thermostat, and the phase of the resonance wave; the entanglement appears only when the thermostat coupling constant is dominant. 相似文献

The strong light field of a laser induces multiphoton processes in atoms. Simultaneously, this light field causes distortion of the atomic spectra — it shifts, splits, and broadens the levels. These phenomena have to be taken into account in interpreting experimental results of multiphoton processes. We consider the model of a Bose condensate in the regime of velocity-selective coherent population trapping. As a result of interaction between particles, some fraction of atoms is outside the condensate, remaining in the coherent trapping state. These atoms are involved in brief events of intense interaction with external resonant electromagnetic fields. Intense induced and spontaneous transitions are accompanied by the exchange of momenta between atoms and radiation, which is manifested as migration of atoms in the velocity space. The rate of such migration is calculated. A nonlinear kinetic equation for the many-particle statistical operator for uncondensed atoms is derived under the assumption that correlations of atoms with different momenta are insignificant. The structure of its steady-state solution leads to certain conclusions about the above-mentioned migration pattern taking the Bose statistics into consideration. With allowance for statistical effects, we derive nonlinear integral equations for frequencies controlling the migration. The results of numerical solution of these equations are represented in the weak interatomic interaction approximation. 相似文献

We report the experimental demonstration of a nonlinear process in a two-level system, in which the amplitude of the excited state decays, transferring irreversibly a large fraction of its energy to the ground state, while shedding a part of it into radiation states. The dynamics of a particle interacting with a random classical field in a two-well potential is studied by the functional integration method. The probability of particle localization in either of the wells is studied in detail. Certain field-averaged correlation functions for quantum-mechanical probabilities and the distribution function for the probabilities of final states (which can be considered as random variables in the presence of a random field) are calculated. The calculated correlators are used to discuss the dependence of the final state on the initial state. One of the main results of this work is that, although the off-diagonal elements of the density matrix disappear with time, a particle in the system is localized incompletely (wave-packet reduction does not occur), and the distribution function for the probability of finding particle in one of the wells is a constant at infinite time. 相似文献

Two-colour coherent control of multiphoton ionization: a comparison between long-range and short-range potential model atoms

Using the numerical solution of the time-dependent Schr\"odinger
equation of a one-dimensional model atom in a two-colour laser field,
we have investigated the effects of the potential models on coherent
control of atomic multiphoton ionization. It is found that the
photoelectron spectra are obviously different for the long-range
(Coulomb-like) and short-range (with no excited bound states)
potential model atoms, which are produced by two-colour coherent
control of atomic multiphoton ionization in a few laser cycles. Our
results indicate that two-colour coherent control of atomic
multiphoton ionization can be observed in simulations, depending on
the choice of the model potentials. 相似文献
