The time-dependent radiation transfer in a semi-infinite stochastic medium of binary Markovian mixture with Rayleigh scattering is presented. A formalism, developed to treat radiation transfer in statistical mixtures, is used to obtain the ensemble-averaged solution. The average reflectivity, radiant energy and net flux are computed for specular-reflecting boundary. For the sake of comparison, we use two different weight functions in our calculations.  相似文献

Dynamics of myoglobin were studied by means of the RSMR-method. A large multiwire proportional counter was employed to measure simultaneously the scattered intensity at different angles in an angular range from 9.0° to 19°. The evaluations show that in wet myoglobin molecular segments move collectively with <x2>=0.27 A2. Freeze dried myoglobin shows normal solid state vibrations with <x2>=0.06 A2.  相似文献

The RSMR technique was used to determine the fraction of radiation which is scattered elastically and inelastically, respectively, into Bragg reflections of a metmyoglobin single crystal. From this measurement 〈x2 1c〉=0.027±0.008 A2 has been determined which is due to long range correlated motions in analogy to acoustic and optic modes in solids.  相似文献

Three-dimensional vector radiative transfer in a semi-infinite medium exposed to spatially varying, polarized radiation is studied. The problem is to determine the generalized reflection matrix for a multiple scattering medium characterized by a 4×4 scattering matrix. A double integral transform is used to convert the three-dimensional vector radiative transfer equation to a one-dimensional form, and a modified Ambarzumian's method is then applied to derive a nonlinear integral equation for the generalized reflection matrix. The spatially varying backscattered radiation for an arbitrarily polarized incident beam can be found from the generalized reflection matrix. For Rayleigh scattering and normal incidence and emergence, the generalized reflection matrix is shown to have five non-zero elements. Benchmark results for these five elements are presented and compared to asymptotic results. When the incident radiation is polarized, the vector approach used in this study correctly predicts three-dimensional behavior, while the scalar approach does not. When the incident radiation is unpolarized, both the vector and scalar approaches predict a two-dimensional distribution of the intensity, but the error in the scalar prediction can be as high as 20%.  相似文献

The time-dependent radiation transfer equation in a finite plane geometry with Rayleigh scattering is studied. The traveling wave transformation is used to obtain the corresponding stationary-like equation. Pomraning-Eddington approximation is then used to find the solution. Numerical results for reflectivity at the left boundary and transmissivity from the right boundary are presented at different times. The medium is assumed to have specular-reflecting boundaries with angular-dependent externally incident flux. Two different weight functions are introduced to force the boundary conditions to fulfill.  相似文献

We propose a new method for solving radiation transport problems, which permits including in analytic form for the case of normal incidence the effect of spatial finiteness of the scattering medium. The formation of the light field accompanying changes in the optical parameters and optical dimensions of the medium is analyzed.this paper, we examine the simplest case of a geometry of a scattering medium in the form of a parallelipiped with optical length x, height y, and width z. The analysis is performed for the case =1, y = z with the latter varying in the range 0.1 to . The results obtained show that the light field depends strongly on the optical dimensions of the medium. We discuss a rigorous vectorial theory as a model to represent the enhanced backscattering of polarized light from a random medium. The theory is based on the well known relation between the contributions of the ladder and cyclical diagrams to the intensity which allows to express these contributions in terms of radiative transfer theory. The tensor transfer equation for the electromagnetic field in a half-space occupied by point-like scatterers is explicitly solved with the aid of the Wiener-Hopf method. For the case of normal incidence the angular distribution of the backscattered intensity and the enhancement factor are found for arbitrary angles between the incident and detected linear polarizations and the scanning plane. To describe spatial anisotropy of the backscattering cone the half width at half maximum of the intensity is calculated as a function of these angles. Coherent backscattering of circularly polarized light is also considered.  相似文献

A two-step approximate analytical solution for the normal emittance of a plane layer of an absorbing, scattering and refracting medium is derived analytically. The analysis is based on the transport approximation and the two-step solution method for radiative transfer. The high accuracy of the approximate solution, examined by comparing its results to those obtained independently by the discrete ordinates and Monte Carlo methods, makes it suitable for application in combined experimental-analytical studies to identify selected spectral radiative properties of dispersed media in the range of semi-transparency.  相似文献
