For a given order R in an imaginary quadratic field K, we study the specialization of the set CM(R) of Heegner points on the Shimura curve X = X 0(D, N) at primes p | DN. As we show, if p does not divide the conductor of R, a point P ∈ CM(R) specializes to a singular point (resp. a irreducible component) of the special fiber [(X)\tilde]\tilde X of X at p if p ramifies (resp. does not ramify) in K. Exploiting the moduli interpretation of X 0(D, N) and K. Ribet’s theory of bimodules, we give a construction of a correspondence Φ between CM(R) and a set of conjugacy classes of optimal embeddings of R into a suitable order in a definite quaternion algebra that allows the explicit computation of these specialization maps. This correspondence intertwines the natural actions of Pic(R) and of an Atkin-Lehner group on both sides. As a consequence of this and the work of P. Michel, we derive a result of equidistribution of Heegner points in [(X)\tilde]\tilde X. We also illustrate our results with an explicit example.  相似文献

In this paper we study generic equidistribution in families of sequences of points on tori. We assume that the sequences are parameterized by some subset of a Euclidean space, and we formulate geometric conditions on the dependence so that equidistribution holds almost everywhere with respect to the Lebesgue measure on the parameter space. As a consequence, we can give a new proof of an old result by Koksma.  相似文献

We prove a general subconvex bound in the level aspect for Rankin–Selberg L-functions associated with two primitive holomorphic or Maass cusp forms over Q. We use this bound to establish the equidistribution of incomplete Galois orbits of Heegner points on Shimura curves associated with indefinite quaternion algebras over Q. We prove an anticyclotomic Iwasawa main conjecture proposed by Perrin-Riou for Heegner points for semi-stable elliptic curves E over a quadratic imaginary field K satisfying a certain generalized Heegner hypothesis, at an ordinary prime p. It states that the square of the index of the anticyclotomic family of Heegner points in E equals the characteristic ideal of the torsion part of its Bloch–Kato Selmer group(see Theorem 1.3 for precise statement). As a byproduct we also prove the equality in the Greenberg–Iwasawa main conjecture for certain Rankin–Selberg product(Theorem 1.7) under some local conditions, and an improvement of Skinner's result on a converse of Gross–Zagier and Kolyvagin theorem(Corollary 1.11).  相似文献

Kolyvagin used Heegner points to associate a system of cohomology classes to an elliptic curve over Q and conjectured that the system contains a non-trivial class. His conjecture has profound implications on the structure of Selmer groups. We provide new computational and theoretical evidence for Kolyvagin's conjecture. More precisely, we explicitly approximate Heegner points over ring class fields and use these points to give evidence for the conjecture for specific elliptic curves of rank two. We explain how Kolyvagin's conjecture implies that if the analytic rank of an elliptic curve is at least two then the Zp-corank of the corresponding Selmer group is at least two as well. We also use explicitly computed Heegner points to produce non-trivial classes in the Shafarevich-Tate group.  相似文献

Heegner divisors play an important role in number theory. However, little is known on whether a modular form has Heegner zeros. In this paper, we start to study this question for a family of classical theta functions, and prove a quantitative result, which roughly says that many of these theta functions have a Heegner zero of discriminant . This leads to some interesting questions on the arithmetic of certain elliptic curves, which we also address here.

Zagier showed that the Galois traces of the values of j-invariant at CM points are Fourier coefficients of a weakly holomorphic modular form of weight 3/2 and Bruinier–Funke expanded his result to the sums of the values of arbitrary modular functions at Heegner points. In this paper, we identify the Galois traces of real-valued class invariants with modular traces of the values of certain modular functions at Heegner points so that they are Fourier coefficients of weight 3/2 weakly holomorphic modular forms.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the equidistribution of saddle periodic points for Hénon-type automorphisms of \(\mathbb {C}^k\) with respect to its equilibrium measure. A general strategy to obtain equidistribution properties in any dimension is presented. It is based on our recent theory of densities for positive closed currents. Several fine properties of dynamical currents are also proved.  相似文献

We derive for Hecke-Maass cusp forms on the full modular group a relation between the sum of the form at Heegner points (and integrals over Heegner cycles) and the product of two Fourier coefficients of a corresponding form of half-integral weight. Specializing to certain cycles we obtain the nonnegativity of theL-function of such a form at the center of the critical strip. These results generalize similar formulae known for holomorphic forms. Given a newform f, we extend Howard??s results on the variation of Heegner points in the Hida family of f to a general quaternionic setting. More precisely, we build big Heegner points and big Heegner classes in terms of compatible families of Heegner points on towers of Shimura curves. The novelty of our approach, which systematically exploits the theory of optimal embeddings, consists in treating both the case of definite quaternion algebras and the case of indefinite quaternion algebras in a uniform way. We prove results on the size of Neková???s extended Selmer groups attached to suitable big Galois representations and we formulate two-variable Iwasawa main conjectures both in the definite case and in the indefinite case. Moreover, in the definite case we propose refined conjectures à la Greenberg on the vanishing at the critical points of (twists of) the L-functions of the modular forms in the Hida family of f living on the same branch as f.  相似文献

We prove equidistribution of a generic net of small points in a projective variety X over a function field K. For an algebraic dynamical system over K, we generalize this equidistribution theorem to a small generic net of subvarieties. For number fields, these results were proved by Yuan and we transfer here his methods to function fields. If X is a closed subvariety of an abelian variety, then we can describe the equidistribution measure explicitly in terms of convex geometry.  相似文献

To better approximate nearly singular functions with meshless methods, we propose a data points redistribution method extended from the well-known one-dimensional equidistribution principle. With properly distributed data points, nearly singular functions can be well approximated by linear combinations of global radial basis functions. The proposed method is coupled with an adaptive trial subspace selection algorithm in order to reduce computational cost. In our numerical examples, clear exponential convergence (with respect to the numbers of data points) can be observed.  相似文献

The evaluation of a polynomial at several points is called the problem of multi-point evaluation. Sometimes, the set of evaluation points is fixed and several polynomials need to be evaluated at this set of points. Several efficient algorithms for this kind of “amortized” multi-point evaluation have been developed recently for the special cases of bivariate polynomials or when the set of evaluation points is generic. In this paper, we extend these results to the evaluation of polynomials in an arbitrary number of variables at an arbitrary set of points. We prove a softly linear complexity bound when the number of variables is fixed. Our method relies on a novel quasi-reduction algorithm for multivariate polynomials, that operates simultaneously with respect to several orderings on the monomials.  相似文献

In this article the degree of the discriminant of an elliptic pencil on a projective curve is upper-bounded by using the degree of its conductor and the genus of the base curve. This is done in the most general case, extending a method and a result of Szpiro (1981 and 1990a) and a result of Hindry and Silvermann. The difficult part, dealing with characteristic 2 and 3 and additive reductions, need the introduction of a new object - which we called 'conducteur efficace' - defined by using differentials and interestingly comparable to the usual conductor. This article ends with a few results in the arithmetical case - case corresponding to an inequality conjectured by the second author in 1978: (1) the proof of this inequality in the potentially good reduction cases; (2) the passage from the semi-stable reduction to the general case for a strong inequality.  相似文献

Building on ideas of Vatsal [Uniform distribution of Heegner points, Invent. Math. 148(1) (2002) 1-46], Cornut [Mazur's conjecture on higher Heegner points, Invent. Math. 148(3) (2002) 495-523] proved a conjecture of Mazur asserting the generic nonvanishing of Heegner points on an elliptic curve E/Q as one ascends the anticyclotomic Zp-extension of a quadratic imaginary extension K/Q. In the present article, Cornut's result is extended by replacing the elliptic curve E with the Galois cohomology of Deligne's two-dimensional ?-adic representation attached to a modular form of weight 2k>2, and replacing the family of Heegner points with an analogous family of special cohomology classes.  相似文献

Though fixed point free homeomorphisms of the plane would appear to exhibit the simplest dynamical behavior, we show that the minimal sets can be quite complex. Every homeomorphism which is conjugate to a translation must have a closed invariant line. However we construct an orientation preserving fixed point free homeomorphism of the plane which admits no closed invariant line. We verify that no such line exists by considering the ‘fundamental regions” of our example. Fundamental regions, studied first by Stephen Andrea, are equivalence classes of points in the plane associated with a given homeomorphism. Two points are said to be in the same equivalence class if they can be connected by an arc which diverges to infinity under both the forward and backward iterates of the homeomorphism. Our example contains no invariant fundamental regions.  相似文献

We prove bounds for twisted ergodic averages for horocycle flows of hyperbolic surfaces, both in the compact and in the non-compact finite area case. From these bounds we derive effective equidistribution results for horocycle maps. As an application of our main theorems in the compact case we further improve on a result of Venkatesh, recently already improved by Tanis and Vishe, on a sparse equidistribution problem for classical horocycle flows proposed by Shah and Margulis, and in the general non-compact, finite area case we prove bounds on Fourier coefficients of cusp forms which are comparable to the best known bounds of Good in the holomorphic case, and of Bernstein and Reznikov in the Maass (non-holomorphic) case. Our approach is based on Sobolev estimates for solutions of the cohomological equation and on scaling of invariant distributions for twisted horocycle flows.  相似文献

We study the stable behaviour of discrete dynamical systems where the map is convex and monotone with respect to the standard positive cone. The notion of tangential stability for fixed points and periodic points is introduced, which is weaker than Lyapunov stability. Among others we show that the set of tangentially stable fixed points is isomorphic to a convex inf-semilattice, and a criterion is given for the existence of a unique tangentially stable fixed point. We also show that periods of tangentially stable periodic points are orders of permutations on n letters, where n is the dimension of the underlying space, and a sufficient condition for global convergence to periodic orbits is presented.  相似文献

Let p(n) denote the number of partitions of a positive integer n. In this paper we study the asymptotic growth of p(n) using the equidistribution of Galois orbits of Heegner points on the modular curve X 0(6). We obtain a new asymptotic formula for p(n) with an effective error term which is O(n-(\frac12+d)){O(n^{-(\frac{1}{2}+\delta)})} for some δ > 0. We then use this asymptotic formula to sharpen the classical bounds of Hardy and Ramanujan, Rademacher, and Lehmer on the error term in Rademacher’s exact formula for p(n).  相似文献
