Electron conduction in the phenylhydrazines

Kinetic studies have been made on the conduction, which is compared with the values deduced from dissociation constants and shifts in the NH₂ stretching frequencies. The high conductivity coefficient in reaction with p-toluene sulfobromide is ascribed to a hydrogen bond in the transition complex.Read at the meeting of the extended plenum of the council of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR on Theories of Chemical Structure, Kinetics, and Reactivity, 7 December 1966, Kiev.

Ionic Liquid Oxidant for Efficient and Selective Oxidation of Benzylic Alcohols

Hexamethylenebis (N-methylimidazolium) dichlorochromate was easily prepared by addition of N-methylimidazole to 1,6-dibromohexane to form the corresponding dibromide salt and subsequent treatment with CrO₃ in 6 N HCl solution. It is a low-melting orange salt that selectively oxidized benzylic alcohols.

Triterpene glycosides ofHedera taurica XVI. Structures of glycosides St-A, St-B1, St-B2, St-C, St-D1, St-D2, St-E, St-F1, and St-F2 from the stems of Crimean ivy

From the stems of Crimean ivyHedera taurica Carr. (fam. Araliaceae) we have isolated previously known glycosides of oleanolic acid — the 3-O-[O--L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)--L-arabinopyranoside], the 3-O--D-glucopyranuronoside, and the 3-O-[O--D-galactopyranosyl-(12)--D-glucopyranuronoside]; known glycosides of hederagenin — the 3-O--L-arabinopyranoside, the 3--D-glucopyranoside, the 3-O-[O--D-glucopyranosyl-(12)-O--L-arabinopyranoside], and the 3-O--D-glucopyranuronoside; and also the new triterpene glycoside St-D₂, hederagenin 3-O-[O--L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)--D-glucopyranoside].Simferopol' State University. Triterpene glycosides ofScheffleropsis angkae. II. Structure of glycosides L-E1, L-E2, L-K1, and L-K2

The structures of four triterpene glycosides from leaves ofScheffleropsis angkae (Araliaceae) are established using chemical and NMR methods. The structures 3-O--D-glucopyranosyl-(1-3)-O--L-arabinopyranosides of oleanic and ursolic acids and their 28-O--L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-4)-O--gentiobiosyl ethers are proposed for L-E₁, L-E₂, L-K₁, and L-K₂, respectively.
