The space of continuous maps from a topological spaceX to topological spaceY is denoted byC(X,Y) with the compact-open topology. In this paper we prove thatC(X,Y) is an absolute retract ifX is a locally compact separable metric space andY a convex set in a Banach space. From the above fact we know thatC(X,Y) is homomorphic to Hilbert spacel 2 ifX is a locally compact separable metric space andY a separable Banach space; in particular,C(R n,Rm) is homomorphic to Hilbert spacel 2. In this paper, we study the compact Kähler manifolds whose tangent bundles are numerically effective and whose anti-Kodaira dimensions are equal to one. LetX be a compact Kähler manifold with nef tangent bundle and semiample anti-canonical bundle. We prove that κ(?K X )=1 if and only if there exists a finite étale coverY→X such thatY??1×A, whereA is a complex torus. As a consequence, we are able to improve upon a result of T. We show the nonvanishing of H 0(X,−K X ) for any a Fano 3-fold X for which −K X is a multiple of another Weil divisor in Cl(X). The main case we study is Fano 3-folds with Fano index 2: that is, 3-folds X with rank Pic(X)=1, -factorial terminal singularities and −K X  = 2A for an ample Weil divisor A. We give a first classification of all possible Hilbert series of such polarised varieties (X,A) and deduce both the nonvanishing of H 0(X,−K X ) and the sharp bound (−K X )3≥ 8/165. We show that, whenA generates aC-semigroup, then there existsY such that [M(C)] →YX, andA| Y , the restriction ofA toY, generates a strongly continuous semigroup, where ↪ means “is continuously embedded in” and ‖x[Im(C)]≡‖C −1 x‖. There also existsW such that [C(W)] →XW, and an operatorB such thatA=B| X andB generates a strongly continuous semigroup onW. If theC-semigroup is exponentially bounded, thenY andW may be chosen to be Banach spaces; in general,Y andW are Frechet spaces. If ρ(A) is nonempty, the converse is also true. LetB(H) denote the algebra of operators on the Hilbert spaceH into itself. GivenA,BB(H), defineC (A, B) andR (A, B):B(H)B(H) byC (A, B) X=AX–XB andR(A, B) X=AXB–X. Our purpose in this note is a twofold one. we show firstly that ifA andB *B (H) are dominant operators such that the pure part ofB has non-trivial kernel, thenC n (A, B) X=0, n some natural number, implies thatC (A, B)X=C(A *,B *)X=0. Secondly, it is shown that ifA andB * are contractions withC 0 completely non-unitary parts, thenR n (A, B) X=0 for some natural numbern implies thatR (A, B) X=R (A *,B *)X=C (A, B *)X=C (A *,B) X=0. In the particular case in whichX is of the Hilbert—Schmidt class, it is shown that his result extends to all contractionsA andB.  相似文献

For a site & (with enough points), we construct a topological space X(&) and a full embedding * of the category of sheaves on & into those on X (&) (i.e., a morphism of toposes :Sh (X(&)) Sh(&)). The embedding will be shown to induce a full embedding of derived categories, hence isomorphisms H*(&,A) = H*(X(&), *A) for any Abelian sheaf A on &. As a particular case, this will give for any scheme Y a topological space X (Y) and a functorial isomorphism between the étale cohomology H*(Y ét,A) and the ordinary sheaf cohomology H*(X((Y),),*A), for any sheaf A for the étale topology on Y.  相似文献

It is shown that ifA andB are non-empty subsets of {0, 1} n (for somenεN) then |A+B|≧(|A||B|)α where α=(1/2) log2 3 here and in what follows. In particular if |A|=2 n-1 then |A+A|≧3 n-1 which anwers a question of Brown and Moran. It is also shown that if |A| = 2 n-1 then |A+A|=3 n-1 if and only if the points ofA lie on a hyperplane inn-dimensions. Necessary and sufficient conditions are also given for |A +B|=(|A||B|)α. The above results imply the following improvement of a result of Talagrand [7]: ifX andY are compact subsets ofK (the Cantor set) withm(X),m(Y)>0 then λ(X+Y)≧2(m(X)m(Y))α wherem is the usual measure onK and λ is Lebesgue measure. This also answers a question of Moran (in more precise terms) showing thatm is not concentrated on any proper Raikov system.  相似文献

We prove a theorem on algebraic osculation and apply our result to the computer algebra problem of polynomial factorization. We consider X a smooth completion of ℂ2 and D an effective divisor with support the boundary ∂X=X∖ℂ2. Our main result gives explicit conditions that are necessary and sufficient for a given Cartier divisor on the subscheme (|D|,OD)(|D|,\mathcal{O}_{D}) to extend to X. These osculation criteria are expressed with residues. When applied to the toric setting, our result gives rise to a new algorithm for factoring sparse bivariate polynomials which takes into account the geometry of the Newton polytope.  相似文献
