We prove that the inequality holds, when a m ×n real matrix X = (xij) whose entries are not all equal to 0 satisfies Therefore we not only generalize the results of Horst Alzer [2] from non-negative matrix to real matrix, but also complete a result of E R van Dam [1], which indicated that the best possible upper bound is equal to 1 for real matrix.

关于级数不等式证明方法的一点注记

本文利用离散型随机变量的概率分布和求其函数的原点矩的方法，证明了三个级数不等式，从而说明了级数不等式证明方法中一个新的思路——构造概率分布的方法。定理1设ak，bk＞0为任意实数（k=1，2，…），r≥0，若下列三个级数都收敛，则有证明设随机变量占可能取值为ark，r=1，2，…，且相应取值的概率为显见上式为警的概率分布。利用原点矩定义，分别求出E（＄）和E（z2），再由E’（＄）＜E（ez），就可得出整理化简即得出要证明的不等式（l）。证毕说明在不等式（）中，无限求和改为有限求和，可得出实际上，令人二b。／乙入，k—1，2…

A note on moment inequality for quadratic forms

Moment inequality for quadratic forms of random vectors is of particular interest in covariance matrix testing and estimation problems. In this paper, we prove a Rosenthal-type inequality, which exhibits new features and certain improvement beyond the unstructured Rosenthal inequality of quadratic forms when dimension of the vectors increases without bound. Applications to test the block diagonal structures and detect the sparsity in the high-dimensional covariance matrix are presented.     

Inequalities of Hadamard Type for r-Convex Functions in Carnot Groups

For a Carnot group G,we establish the relationship between extended mean values and r-convexfunctions which is introduced in this paper,which is a class of inequalities of Hadamard type for r-convexfunction on G.

An optimal version of an inequality involving the third symmetric means

Let (GA) _n ^[k](a), A _n (a), G _n (a) be the third symmetric mean of k degree, the arithmetic and geometric means of a ₁, …, a _n (a _i > 0, i = 1, …, n), respectively. By means of descending dimension method, we prove that the maximum of p is k−1/n−1 and the minimum of q is n/n−1(k−1/k) ^k/n so that the inequalities {fx505-1} hold.     

A note on a Carlson-type inequality for the Sugeno integral

In this short note, we present a general version of Carlson’s inequality for the Sugeno integral, which generalizes some recent results obtained by others.
