Clear evidence is presented for the production of an Ω1− resonance of mass 2253±13 MeV/c2 and width 81±38 MeV/c2 in K−p interactions at 11 GeV/c. The state is observed in the Ξ (1530)K̄ decay mode, and the corresponding inclusive cross section is estimated to be 630±180 nb. Comparisons are made with theoretical predictions and with similar states observed inhyperon beam induced data. 相似文献

Evidence is provided for a new resonance in theK s 0 K s 0 π+π? system with a mass of 1.97±0.01 GeV and width 40±20 MeV. We observe production of a Ξ*(2370) in the reactions K?p→K, Kπ and [ΩK] (K or Kπ) at 8.25 GeV/c in a high statistics bubble chamber experiment. The mass and width are determined to be 2373 ± 8 MeV and 80 ± 25 MeV, respectively. The I = 1/2 assignment is strongly favoured. 相似文献

Studying the 0-meson production in ¯pp interactions at 22.4 GeV/c and in 4-prong anníhilation channels of ¯pp interactions at 5.7 GeV/c, we have observed an essential 0-meson spin alignment. The values of the 00 element of the 0-meson spin density matrix (thez-axis is directed along the normal to the production plane) are equal to 0.08 ± 0.07 and 0.55 ± 0.03, respectively, i.e. the 0-meson spin lies preferably in the production plane. The absence of such an effect in pp interactions at 12 and 24 GeV/c and also the essentially larger 0 production cross section in ¯pp interactions at these energies make it possible to connect the observed 0-meson spin alignment with the annihilation processes. The character of the observed spin alignment is unexpected from the point of view of usual models, e.g. multiperipheral models. This effect could be described by the spontaneous polarization of quarks and antiquarks during the state preceding their recombination into mesons.Dedicated to Professor Ivan Úlehla on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.The authors would like to express their gratitude to the CERN-Prague collaboration for permission to use their data on ¯pp interactions at 5.7 GeV/c. New data on the inclusive production of the non-strange resonances ?0(770), ω(783), ?(1020) andf(1270) inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c are presented. The inclusive production cross sections are equal to (4.32±0.72) mb, (3.7±1.4) mb, (0.65±0.10) mb and (0.91±0.35) mb respectively. Estimates of the topological cross sections are also obtained. The invariant and non-invariantx-distributions for the vector mesons ?0 and ? indicate the prevalence of forward resonance production in the c.m. system. For the tensorf-meson the rapidity andx-distributions are presented. Thet′-distributions for ?0, ?, andf have exponential slopes of 0.6±0.1 GeV?2, 1.2±0.2 GeV?2, and 0.8±0.5 GeV?2 respectively. The exponential slope ofp T 2 -distribution of thef-meson is equal to (2.3±0.5) GeV?2. 相似文献

Total and differential cross sections ofK *?(890),K *?(890), \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) (890),K *0(890), \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) (1430) and? 0(770) produced inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. The cross sections of the neutral resonances show a smooth increase with energy from 10 to 110 GeV/c incident momentum. For theK *+(890) and theK *0(890), i.e. the resonances with strangenessS=+1, this rise is quite significant: their cross sections practically double between 32 GeV/c and 110 GeV/c incidentK ? momentum. About 50% of the neutral kaons and 30% of charged pions produced inK ? p interactions at our energy are found to be decay products of the resonances considered. 相似文献

The inclusive production of neutral kaons inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c is studied in final states with one, two and three strange particles (K n or Λ). Inclusive and topological cross sections are obtained and their energy dependence discussed by comparison with lower energy data. The invariant differential cross sections of neutral kaons are studied as a function of Feynmanx, the c.m. rapidity and the transverse momentum, and a comparison is made with data at 14.3 GeV/c. Invariantx-distributions are obtained separately for “indirect” neutral kaons from \(\bar K*(890)\) decays and for “prompt” kaons. We also discuss the possibility of connecting quark structure functions with hadron fragmentation spectra at this c.m. energy \(\sqrt s \simeq 8 GeV\) . 相似文献

Data from the reaction K−p→K−K+Λ at 11 GeV/c have been obtained in the LASS spectrometer at SLAC. A spherical harmonic moments analysis of the K−K+ system provides evidence for a rather narrow JPC=4++ state at ∼2.2 GeV/c2. Results from a high statistics study of the reaction K−p→K−π+n are presented. These results are based on data obtained with an 11 GeV/c beam using the LASS spectrometer at SLAC. The mass dependence of the spherical harmonic moments provides clear evidence for the production of the complete leading orbitally excited K1 series up through JP = 5−. These moments are used to perform an energy independent partial wave analysis of the K−π+ system from threshold to 2.6 GeV/c2 using a t-dependent parametrization of the production amplitudes. The amplitudes corroborate the leading K1(892), K21(1430), K31(1780), K41(2060), and K51(2380) resonances observed directly in the moments, and also provide new evidence for underlying states. The 0+ amplitude contains the K01(1350) and a second 0+K1(1950) at higher mass. The 1−K1(1790) seen earlier two and three-body analyses is confirmed, and evidence is provided for suppressed K−π+ decay mode of a second 1− state, the K1(1410), which has been seen in earlier three-body analyses. 相似文献

Measurements ofK s 0 , Λ and \(\bar \Lambda \) production in π? nucleus (C, Cu, Pb) interactions are presented. The experiment was carried out with the streamer chamber spectrometer RISK using a π? beam of ~40 GeV/c and a trigger requiring a secondary charged particle with transverse momentum above 1.1 GeV/c. Production cross sections, relative production rates and distributions of Feynmanx and transverse momentum squared as well as correlations between theV 0 and the trigger particle are presented. The results are compared and found to be in agreement withK s 0 , Λ and \(\bar \Lambda \) data from untriggered π? p and π? C interactions, except for the relative production rate of antilambdas which is about to times larger in high-p t collisions. Antilambda production is studied inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c. Both total and differential cross sections are presented. The inclusive \(\bar \Lambda \) production cross section amounts to 109±7 μb. A remarkable energy dependence is observed, σ( \(\bar \Lambda \) ) increasing by a factor of four between 14.3 and 32 GeV/c. Thep ⊥ 2 distribution exhibits an exponential fall-off with a slope of 3.3±0.2 (GeV/c)?2. Most of the \(\bar \Lambda \) 's are emitted in the forward hemisphere. The invariantx distribution increases between 14.3 and 32 GeV/c. Data are presented for \(\bar \Lambda \) production inK - p→Λ \(\bar \Lambda \) +X K - p→ \(\bar \Lambda \) K n +X, andK - p→ \(\bar \Lambda \) p+X. 相似文献

The production of a strange dibaryonic system called H+1 (M = 2.13 GeV/c2, S = ?1), has been studied with a missing mass spectrometer, at the CERN Proton Synchrotron, in the reaction K?d → π?H+1 and in the line-reversed reaction π+d → K+H+1 between 0.9 and 1.4 GeV/c.The reactions , ,have been studied in a missing mass spectrometer at CERN. The experiment (PS159) is well adapted to search for a signal in the missing mass X+ (B = 2, S = ?1) produced in the backward c.m.s. direction, between 2.0 and 2.3 GeV/c2. Results on inclusive ? production inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. The production cross section is found to be larger than in πp andpp interactions at similar energies, suggesting OZI allowed \(s\bar s\) fusion to be the dominant mechanism in ? production. Thex distributions of ? and \(\bar K^{*0} \) are found to be similar to each other over the entirex range suggesting an overall strangeness suppression factor of 0.20±0.04 in the sea to be the dominant source of the difference in the cross section for ? and \(\bar K^{*0} \) . There is no evidence of a narrowφπ ? state around 2.1 GeV/c2 as suggested byK + experiments, but there is some excess of events in the region 1.94?1.98 GeV/c2 consistent with theF-meson mass as observed ine + e ? experiments. 相似文献
