Using a theorem of Roquette-Ohm [P. Roquette, Isomorphisms of generic splitting fields of simple algebras, J. Reine Angew. Math. 214-215 (1964) 207-226 and J. Ohm, On subfields of rational function fields, Arch. Math. 42 (1984) 136-138], we indicate a short proof that a rational extension of a Lüroth extension of a field k is a Lüroth extension of k. This assertion was proved by Bavula [V. Bavula, Lüroth field extensions, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 199 (2005) 1-10] with the added hypothesis that .  相似文献

In this note we consider the Lüroth expansion of a real number, and we study the Hausdorff dimension of a class of sets defined in terms of the frequencies of digits in the expansion. We also study the speed at which the approximants obtained from the Lüroth expansion converge. In addition, we describe the multifractal properties of the level sets of the Lyapunov exponent, which measures the exponential speed of approximation obtained from the approximants. Finally, we describe the relation of the Lüroth expansion with the continued fraction expansion and the β-expansion. We remark that our work is still another application of the theory of dynamical systems to number theory.  相似文献

We construct a Lax-Phillips scattering system on the arithmetic quotient space of the Poincaré upper half-plane by the full modular group, based on the Eisenstein transform. We identify incoming and outgoing subspaces in the ambient space of all functions with finite energy-form for the non-Euclidean wave equation. The use of the Eisenstein transform along with some properties of the Eisenstein series of two variables enables one to work only on the space corresponding to the continuous spectrum of the Laplace-Beltrami operator. It is shown that the scattering matrix is the complex function appearing in the the functional equation of the Eisenstein series of two variables. We obtain a compression operator constructed from the Laplace-Beltrami operator, whose spectrum consists of eigenvalues that coincide, counted with multiplicities, with the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta-function. For this purpose we construct and use a scattering model on the one-dimensional Euclidean space.   相似文献

In 1975, S.M. Voronin proved the universality of the Riemann zeta-function ζ(s). This means that every non-vanishing analytic function can be approximated uniformly on compact subsets of the critical strip by shifts ζ(s+iτ). A formula first derived by Müntz which relates the Riemann zeta function ζ times the Mellin transform of a test function f and the Mellin transform of the theta transform of f is exploited, together with other analytic techniques, to construct zero free regions for ζ(s) with s in the critical strip. In this paper, the convergence of the Euler product of the Hecke zeta-function ζ(s,χ) is proved on the line R(s)=1 with s≠1. A certain functional identity between ζ(s,χ) and ζ(2−s,χ) is found. An analogue of Tate's adelic Poisson summation is obtained for the global Hankel transformation, which is constructed in Li (2010) [7].  相似文献

Let p>3 be a prime. We consider j-zeros of Eisenstein series Ek of weights k=p−1+Mpa(p2−1) with M,a?0 as elements of . If M=0, the j-zeros of Ep−1 belong to Qp(ζp2−1) by Hensel's lemma. Call these j-zeros p-adic liftings of supersingular j-invariants. We show that for every such lifting u there is a j-zero r of Ek such that ordp(ru)>a. Applications of this result are considered. It is now well known that Hecke operators defined classically act trivially on genuine cuspforms for noncongruence subgroups of SL2(Z). Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer speculated the existence of p-adic Hecke operators so that the Fourier coefficients of their eigenfunctions satisfy three-term congruence recursions. In the previous two papers with the same title ([W.C. Li, L. Long, Z. Yang, On Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer congruence relations, J. Number Theory 113 (1) (2005) 117-148] by W.C. Li, L. Long, Z. Yang and [A.O.L. Atkin, W.C. Li, L. Long, On Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer congruence relations (2), Math. Ann. 340 (2) (2008) 335-358] by A.O.L. Atkin, W.C. Li, L. Long), the authors have studied two exceptional spaces of noncongruence cuspforms where almost all p-adic Hecke operators can be diagonalized simultaneously or semi-simultaneously. Moreover, it is shown that the l-adic Scholl representations attached to these spaces are modular in the sense that they are isomorphic, up to semisimplification, to the l-adic representations arising from classical automorphic forms.In this paper, we study an infinite family of spaces of noncongruence cuspforms (which includes the cases in [W.C. Li, L. Long, Z. Yang, On Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer congruence relations, J. Number Theory 113 (1) (2005) 117-148; A.O.L. Atkin, W.C. Li, L. Long, On Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer congruence relations (2), Math. Ann. 340 (2) (2008) 335-358]) under a general setting. It is shown that for each space in this family there exists a fixed basis so that the Fourier coefficients of each basis element satisfy certain weaker three-term congruence recursions. For a new case in this family, we will exhibit that the attached l-adic Scholl representations are modular and the p-adic Hecke operators can be diagonalized semi-simultaneously.  相似文献

Let H be a definite quaternion algebra over Q with discriminant DH and R a maximal order of H. We denote by Gn a quaternionic unitary group and put Γn=Gn(Q)∩GL2n(R). Let Sκ(Γn) be the space of cusp forms of weight κ with respect to Γn on the quaternion half-space of degree n. We construct a lifting from primitive forms in Sk(SL2(Z)) to Sk+2n−2(Γn) and a lifting from primitive forms in Sk(Γ0(d)) to Sk+2(Γ2), where d is a factor of DH. We prove an explicit formula for the central values of certain Rankin L-functions. These L-functions are the L-functions attached to Hilbert newforms over a totally real field F, twisted by unitary Hecke characters of a totally imaginary quadratic extension of F. In this paper, we construct Shintani lifts from integral weight weakly holomorphic modular forms to half-integral weight weakly holomorphic modular forms. Although defined by different methods, these coincide with the classical Shintani lifts when restricted to the space of cusp forms. As a side effect, this gives the coefficients of the classical Shintani lifts as new cycle integrals. This yields new formulas for the L-values of Hecke eigenforms. When restricted to the space of weakly holomorphic modular forms orthogonal to cusp forms, the Shintani lifts introduce a definition of weakly holomorphic Hecke eigenforms. Along the way, auxiliary lifts are constructed from the space of harmonic weak Maass forms which yield a “fractional derivative” from the space of half-integral weight harmonic weak Maass forms to half-integral weight weakly holomorphic modular forms. This fractional derivative complements the usual ξ-operator introduced by Bruinier and Funke.  相似文献

Invariant subspaces and eigenfunctions of regular Hecke operators acting on spaces spanned by products of even number of Igusa theta constants with rational characteristics are constructed. For some of the eigenfunctions of genuses g=1 and g=2, corresponding zeta functions of Hecke and Andrianov are explicitly calculated.  相似文献

We study the arithmeticity of special values of L-functions attached to cuspforms which are Hecke eigenfunctions on hermitian quaternion groups Sp(m,0) which form a reductive dual pair with G=O(4n). For f1 and f2 two cuspforms on H, consider their theta liftings θf1 and θf2 on G. Then we compute a Rankin-Selberg type integral and obtain an integral representation of the standard L-function:

Let f1,…,fd be an orthogonal basis for the space of cusp forms of even weight 2k on Γ0(N). Let L(fi,s) and L(fi,χ,s) denote the L-function of fi and its twist by a Dirichlet character χ, respectively. In this note, we obtain a “trace formula” for the values at integers m and n with 0<m,n<2k and proper parity. In the case N=1 or N=2, the formula gives us a convenient way to evaluate precisely the value of the ratio L(f,χ,m)/L(f,n) for a Hecke eigenform f.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to derive a generalization of Shimura's results concerning Fourier coefficients of Hilbert modular forms of half integral weight over total real number fields in the case of Hilbert-Maass wave forms over algebraic number fields by following the Shimura's method. Employing theta functions, we shall construct the Shimura correspondence Ψτ from Hilbert-Maass wave forms f of half integral weight over algebraic number fields to Hilbert-Maass wave forms of integral weight over algebraic number fields. We shall determine explicitly the Fourier coefficients of in terms of these f. Moreover, under some assumptions about f concerning the multiplicity one theorem with respect to Hecke operators, we shall establish an explicit connection between the square of Fourier coefficients of f and the central value of quadratic twisted L-series associated with the image of f.  相似文献

Let m?2 be an integer, and π an irreducible unitary cuspidal representation for GLm(AQ), whose attached automorphic L-function is denoted by L(s,π). Let be the sequence of coefficients in the Dirichlet series expression of L(s,π) in the half-plane Rs>1. It is proved in this paper that, if π is such that the sequence is real, then there are infinitely many sign changes in the sequence , and the first sign change occurs at some , where Qπ is the conductor of π, and the implied constant depends only on m and ε. This generalizes the previous results for GL2. A result of the same quality is also established for , the sequence of coefficients in the Dirichlet series expression of in the half-plane Rs>1.  相似文献
