Letp andl be rational primes such thatl is odd and the order ofp modulol is even. For such primesp andl, and fore = l, 2l, we consider the non-singular projective curvesaY 21 =bX 21 +cZ 21 defined over finite fields Fq such thatq = p α? l(mode).We see that the Fermat curves correspond precisely to those curves among each class (fore = l, 2l), that are maximal or minimal over Fq. We observe that each Fermat prime gives rise to explicit maximal and minimal curves over finite fields of characteristic 2. Fore = 2l, we explicitly determine the ζ -function(s) for this class of curves, over Fq, as rational functions in the variablet, for distinct cases ofa, b, andc, in F q * . Theζ-function in each case is seen to satisfy the Weil conjectures (now theorems) for this concrete class of curves. Fore = l, 2l, we determine the class numbers for the function fields associated to each class of curves over Fq. As a consequence, when the field of definition of the curve(s) is fixed, this provides concrete information on the growth of class numbers for constant field extensions of the function field(s) of the curve(s).  相似文献

Let L be a number field containing the pth primitive root of unity ζ p . We investigate the p-rank of the ideal class groups of some subfields of L by using reflection theorems and establish relations between the p-rank of the ideal class groups and that of groups of units of some subfields of L.

Let F be a number field and 𝒪 F the ring of integers in F. We also study the p-rank of tame kernels of F and establish relations between the p-rank of K 2𝒪 F and that of some direct summands of the ideal class group of F p ).  相似文献

All Hadamard 2-(63,31,15) designs invariant under the dihedral group of order 10 are constructed and classified up to isomorphism together with related Hadamard matrices of order 64. Affine 2-(64,16,5) designs can be obtained from Hadamard 2-(63,31,15) designs having line spreads by Rahilly’s construction [A. Rahilly, On the line structure of designs, Discrete Math. 92 (1991) 291-303]. The parameter set 2-(64,16,5) is one of two known sets when there exists several nonisomorphic designs with the same parameters and p-rank as the design obtained from the points and subspaces of a given dimension in affine geometry AG(n,pm) (p a prime). It is established that an affine 2-(64,16,5) design of 2-rank 16 that is associated with a Hadamard 2-(63,31,15) design invariant under the dihedral group of order 10 is either isomorphic to the classical design of the points and hyperplanes in AG(3,4), or is one of the two exceptional designs found by Harada, Lam and Tonchev [M. Harada, C. Lam, V.D. Tonchev, Symmetric (4, 4)-nets and generalized Hadamard matrices over groups of order 4, Designs Codes Cryptogr. 34 (2005) 71-87].  相似文献

In this paper we show an Arakelov inequality for semi-stable families of algebraic curves of genus g?1 over characteristic p with nontrivial Kodaira-Spencer maps. We apply this inequality to obtain an upper bound of the number of algebraic curves of p-rank zero in a semi-stable family over characteristic p with nontrivial Kodaira-Spencer map in terms of the genus of a general closed fiber, the genus of the base curve and the number of singular fibres. The parallel results for smooth families of Abelian varieties over k with W2-lifting assumption are also obtained.  相似文献

Let R be a discrete complete valuation ring, with field of fractions K, and with algebraically closed residue field k of characteristic p > 0. Let X be a germ of an R-curve at an ordinary double point. Consider a finite Galois covering f: Y → X, whose Galois group G is a p-group, such that Y is normal, and which is étale above Xk≔ x × rk. Asume that Y has a semi-stable model :→ Y over R, and let y be a closed point of Y. If the inertia subgroup I(y) at y is cyclic of order pn, we compute the p-rank of tf−1 (y) by using a result of Raynaud. In particular, we prove that this p-rank is bounded by pn −1.  相似文献

Let E be a CM elliptic curve defined over an algebraic number field F. In the previous paper [N. Murabayashi, On the field of definition for modularity of CM elliptic curves, J. Number Theory 108 (2004) 268-286], we gave necessary and sufficient conditions for E to be modular over F, i.e. there exists a normalized newform f of weight two on Γ1(N) for some N such that HomF(E,Jf)≠{0}. We also determined the multiplicity of E as F-simple factor of Jf when HomF(E,Jf)≠{0}. In this process we separated into the three cases. In this paper we construct certain CM elliptic curves which satisfy the conditions of each case. In other words, we show that all three cases certainly occur.  相似文献

We generalize the surjectivity result of the p-adic monodromy for the ordinary locus of a Siegel moduli space by Faltings and Chai (independently by Ekedahl) to that for any p-rank stratum. We discuss irreducibility and connectedness of some p-rank strata of the moduli spaces with parahoric level structure. Finer results are obtained on the Siegel 3-fold with Iwahori level structure.  相似文献

In the first part of the paper, certain incomplete character sums over a finite field Fpr are considered which in the case of finite prime fields Fp are of the form ∑A+N−1n=Aχ(g(n))ψ(f(n)), where A and N are integers with 1≤N<p, g and f are polynomials over Fp, and χ denotes a multiplicative and ψ an additive character of Fp. Excluding trivial cases, it is shown that the above sums are at most of the order of magnitude N1/2pr/4. Recently, Shparlinski showed that a polynomial f over the integers which coincides with the discrete logarithm of the finite prime field Fp for N consecutive elements of Fp must have a degree at least of the order of magnitude Np−1/2. In this paper this result is extended to arbitrary Fpr. The proof is based on the above new bound for incomplete hybrid character sums.  相似文献

We define a new map between codes over Fp + uFp + u2Fp and Fp which is different to that defined in [2]. It is proved that the image of the linear cyclic code over the commutative ring Fp + uFp + u2Fp with length n under this map is a distance-invariant quasi-cyclic code of index p2 with length p2n over Fp. Moreover, it is proved that, if (np) = 1, then every code with length p2n over Fp which is the image of a linear (1 − u2)-cyclic code with length n over Fp + uFp + u2Fp under this map is permutation equivalent to a quasi-cyclic code of index p2.  相似文献

In this paper we study the geometric discrepancy of explicit constructions of uniformly distributed points on the two-dimensional unit sphere. We show that the spherical cap discrepancy of random point sets, of spherical digital nets and of spherical Fibonacci lattices converges with order?N ?1/2. Such point sets are therefore useful for numerical integration and other computational simulations. The proof uses an area-preserving Lambert map. A?detailed analysis of the level curves and sets of the pre-images of spherical caps under this map is given.  相似文献

We consider direct constructions due to R. J. R. Abel and M. Greig, and to M. Buratti, for ({ν},5,1) balanced incomplete block designs. These designs are defined using the prime fields Fp for certain primes p, are 1‐rotational over G ⊕ Fp where G is a group of order 4, and are also resolvable under certain conditions. We introduce specifications to the constructions and, by means of character sum arguments, show that the constructions yield resolvable designs whenever p is sufficiently large. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Our concern in this paper is to describe the p-rank stratification on the Siegel moduli space with Iwahori level structure over fields of positive characteristic. We calculate the dimension of the strata and describe the closure of a given stratum in terms of p-rank strata. We also examine the relationship between the p-rank stratification and the Kottwitz–Rapoport stratification.  相似文献

Recently Bezerra, Garcia and Stichtenoth constructed an explicit tower F=(Fn)n?0 of function fields over a finite field Fq3, whose limit λ(F)=limn→∞N(Fn)/g(Fn) attains the Zink bound λ(F)?2(q2−1)/(q+2). Their proof is rather long and very technical. In this paper we replace the complex calculations in their work by structural arguments, thus giving a much simpler and shorter proof for the limit of the Bezerra, Garcia and Stichtenoth tower.  相似文献

In the first part of the paper we give a characterization of groups generated by elements of fixed prime order p. In the second part we study the group G n (p) of n × n matrices with the pth power of the determinant equal to 1 over a field F containing a primitive pth root of 1. It is known that the group G n (2) of n × n matrices of determinant ± 1 over a field F and the group SL n (F) are generated by their involutions and that each element in these groups is a product of four involutions. We consider some subgroups G of G n (p) and study the following problems: Is G generated by its elements of order p? If so, is every element of G a product of k elements of order p for some fixed integer k? We show that G n (p) and SL n (F) are generated by their elements of order p and that the bound k exists and is equal to 4. We show that every universal p-Coxeter group has faithful two-dimensional representations over many fields F (including ? and ?). For a universal p-Coxeter group of rank ≥ 2 for p ≥ 3 or of rank ≥ 3 for p = 2 there is no bound k.  相似文献

This paper presents two direct explicit methods of computer-aided design for developable surfaces. The developable surfaces are designed by using control planes with C-Bézier basis functions. The shape of developable surfaces can be adjusted by using a control parameter. When the parameter takes on different values, a family of developable surfaces can be constructed and they keep the characteristics of Bézier surfaces. The thesis also discusses the properties of designed developable surfaces and presents geometric construction algorithms, including the de Casteljau algorithm, the Farin–Boehm construction for G2 continuity, and the G2 Beta restricted condition algorithm. The techniques for the geometric design of developable surfaces in this paper have all the characteristics of existing approaches for curves design, but go beyond the limitations of traditional approaches in designing developable surfaces and resolve problems frequently encountered in engineering by adjusting the position and shape of developable surfaces.  相似文献

We prove an explicit formula for the central values of certain Rankin L-functions. These L-functions are the L-functions attached to Hilbert newforms over a totally real field F, twisted by unitary Hecke characters of a totally imaginary quadratic extension of F. This formula generalizes our former result on L-functions twisted by finite CM characters.  相似文献
