A study is made of the two-dimensional laminar flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in the neighborhood of the point of attachment of the flow to a solid surface. The case of large Reynolds numbers is considered. It is assumed that the dimensions of the separation region are of the same order of magnitude as the characteristic dimension of the body around which the flow takes place. The asymptotic theory of such flow is constructed by applying the method of matched asymptotic expansions to the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations. It is shown that in the neighborhood of the attachment point the flow is locally inviscid and can be described by the complete system of Euler equations. A solution to the corresponding boundary-value problem is constructed numerically.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 63–71, November–December, 1980.  相似文献

A formula for the flow resistance factors in a pipe with a sudden expansion of the cross section at Reynolds numbers of 0.2 to 10 is obtained by numerical solution of the complete Navier–Stokes equations for incompressible fluids. The flow resistance factors obtained using the derived formula are compared to those found by numerical solution of the Navier–Stokes equations.  相似文献

The appearance of a local singularity in the solutions for the neighborhood of the trailing edge of a plate in a sub- or supersonic flow makes it necessary to consider the flow in the local region which is described in the first approximation by the Navier-Stokes equations for an incompressible gas. In this paper numerical solutions are obtained for such a region for both a thin plate and a plate with thickness. The streamline patterns and the distributions of the flow functions over the surface of the plate and in the wake behind it are presented. For the plate with finite thickness, a numerical solution is obtained in a wide range of variation of the local Reynolds number.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 173–176, July–August, 1985.  相似文献

The flow arising in an incompressible liquid if, at the initial moment of time, a plate of finite length starts to move with a constant velocity in its plane, is discussed. For the case of an infinite plate, there is a simple exact solution of the Navier—Stokes equations, obtained by Rayleigh. The case of the motion of a semiinfinite plate has also been discussed by a number of authors. Approximate solutions have been obtained in a number of statements; for the complete unsteadystate equations of the boundary layer the statement was investigated by Stewartson (for example, [1–3]); a numerical solution of the problem by an unsteady-state method is given in [4]. The main stress in the present work is laid on investigation of the region of the interaction between a nonviscous flow and the boundary layer near the end of a plate. In passing, a solution of the problem is obtained for a wake, and a new numerical solution is also given for the boundary layer at the plate.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 3–8, March–April, 1977.  相似文献

Blowing at bluff body base was considered under different conditions and for small amount of blowing this problem was solved using dividing streamline model [1]. The effect of supersonic blowing on the flow characteristics of the external supersonic stream was studied in [2–4]. The procedure and results of the solution to the problem of subsonic blowing of a homogeneous fluid at the base of a body in supersonic flow are discussed in this paper. Analysis of experimental results (see, e.g., [5]) shows that within a certain range of blowing rate the pressure distribution along the viscous region differs very little from the pressure in the free stream ahead of the base section. In this range the flow in the blown subsonic jet and in the mixing zones can be described approximately by slender channel flow. This approximation is used in the computation of nozzle flows with smooth wall inclination [6, 7]. On the other hand, boundary layer equations are used to compute separated stationary flows with developed recirculation regions [8] in order to describe the flow at the throat of the wake. The presence of blowing has significant effect on the flow structure in the base region. An increasing blowing rate reduces the size of the recirculation region [9] and increases base pressure. This leads to a widening of the flow region at the throat, usually described by boundary-layer approximations. At a certain blowing rate the recirculation region completely disappears which makes it possible to use boundary-layer equations to describe the flow in the entire viscous region in the immediate neighborhood of the base section.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 76–81, January–February, 1984.  相似文献

The flow in turbomachines is currently calculated either on the basis of a single successive solution of an axisymmetric problem (see, for example, [1-A]) and the problem of flow past cascades of blades in a layer of variable thickness [1, 5], or by solution of a quasi-three-dimensional problem [6–8], or on the basis of three-dimensional models of the motion [9–11]. In this paper, we derive equations of a three-dimensional model of the flow of an ideal incompressible fluid for an arbitrary curvilinear system of coordinates based on averaging the equations of motion in the Gromek–Lamb form in the azimuthal direction; the pulsation terms are taken into account in the equations of the quasi-three-dimensional motion. An algorithm for numerical solution of the problem is described. The results of calculations are given and compared with experimental data for flows in the blade passages of an axial pump and a rotating-blade turbine. The obtained results are analyzed.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 69–76, March–April, 1991.I thank A. I. Kuzin and A. V. The representative generalized symmetries of any ordinary differential equation are described in terms of its invariants. This identifies the evolution equations compatible with a given constraint. The restriction of the flow of a compatible equation to the solution space of the constraint is generated by the corresponding internal symmetry. This reduces the evolution equation to a finite dimensional system of first-order ordinary differential equations. The Euler–Lagrange equation of any conserved density of a given evolution equation yields such a reduction. Other examples include the generalized method of separation of variables, the characterization of separable evolution equations, and the characterization of equations with complete families of wave solutions. A Newton equation is compatible with an ordinary differential constraint if and only if the constraint is affine, with force field symmetry, in which case the equation reduces to a finite-dimensional dynamical system. Newton equations with complete families of characteristic solutions reduce to central force problems on solution spaces of linear constraints.  相似文献

In all previous numerical investigations of spherical Couette flow only axisymmetric regimes were considered. At the same time, in experiments [1–4] it was found that when both spheres rotate and the layer is thin centrifugal instability of the main flow leads to the appearance of nonaxisymmetric secondary flows of the azimuthal traveling wave type. The results of an initial numerical investigation of these flows are presented below. Solving the linear problem of the stability of the main flow and simulating the secondary flows on the basis of the complete nonlinear Navier-Stokes equations has made it possible to supplement and explain many of the results obtained experimentally. The type of bifurcation and the structure of the disturbances whose growth leads to the appearance of three-dimensional nonstationary flows are determined, and the transitions between different secondary regimes in the region of weak supercriticality are described.Moscow. Exact and approximate solutions were obtained describing filtration flow in a plane region in sectors corresponding to imperfect reservoirs and suction gaps. These equations make it possible to obtain an approximate solution to the three-dimensional problem of the filtration of ground waters by solution of the two-dimensional problem; imperfect reservoirs are permitted in the filtration region.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 76–83, May–June, 1973.  相似文献

A phenomenological approach is made to the study of transport processes in a medium whose structural blocks are separated by boundaries with high conductivity, so that the pressure head around the particles in a representative volume can be assumed to be the same. The essence of the approach consists in the fact that the effect of blocks on the flow through the cracks is taken into account by introducing into the usual flow equations distributed sources of hereditary type. A complete system of equations is presented, methods of solving it are discussed, and an example, in which the flow of methane at a coal face is described and conclusions are drawn concerning the relations between the various outburst criteria, is examined.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 174–177, May–June, 1989.  相似文献

A study is made of the problem of determining the parameters of flow described by the Buckley-Leverett system of equations by using functions that admit direct measurement. The well-known solution to the analogous problem for two-phase flow [1–3] is generalized. In contrast to [4], the general case is considered, when the fractions of the phases in the flow and the phase permeabilities depend on two variables.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 187–189, September–October, 1984.The author wishes to thank B. A method of calculating the plane turbulent layer behind a step interacting with a free potential flow of incompressible fluid is developed. The method includes consideration of the initial boundary layer and injection (or suction) in the isobaric bottom region. Friction on the wall behind the step is neglected, which corresponds to symmetric quasisteady flow behind the straight edge of a plate. The inviscid flow is represented by the Keldysh-Sedov integral equations; the flow in the wake with a one-parameter velocity profile is represented by three first-order differential equations—the equations of momentum for the wake and motion along its axis and the equation of interaction (through the displacement thickness) of the viscous flow with the external potential flow. The turbulent friction in the wake is given, accurate to the single empirical constant, by the Prandtl equation. The different flow regions — on the plate behind the step, the isobaric bottom region, and the wake region — are joined with the aid of the quasi-one-dimensional momentum equation for viscous flow. The momentum equation for the flow as a whole serves as the closure condition. The obtained integrodifferential system of equations is approximated by a system of nonlinear finite-difference equations, whose solution is obtained on a computer by minimization of the sum of the squares of the discrepancies. The results of the calculations agree satisfactorily with experimental data.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 17–25, May–June, 1977.We are grateful to V. The problem of the group stratification of the system of equations describing motion in the laminar sublayer and the turbulent core is considered. The fundamental group admissible by the initial system is constructed; invariant solutions constructed on one of the subgroups lead to a system of ordinary differential equations. Joining of the solutions and interchange of the equations occur at the boundary of the laminar sublayer. A class of power-law flows of a turbulent boundary layer is investigated. In the region of decelerated motion a double-valued solution is found corresponding to attached or separated flow. The commonly used integral characteristics are calculated and presented in the form of an interpolation polynomial.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Teknicheskoi Fiziki, No. 4, pp. 126–132, July–August, 1975.  相似文献

There have been many studies of viscous compressible gas flow in wakes and behind steps [1–6] in which attention has been focused on the steady-state flow regime. The problem of the supersonic flow of a viscous compressible heat-conducting gas past a plain backward-facing step is considered. The problem is solved numerically within the framework of the complete system of Navier-Stokes equations. The passage of the solution from the initial data to the steady-state regime and the effect of the gas dynamic parameters of the external flow on the characteristic flow stabilization time are investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 137–140, July–August, 1989.  相似文献

The flow of a homogeneous gas in a three-dimensional hypersonic viscous shock layer, which includes the shock wave structure, is examined within the framework of the parabolic approximation of the Navier-Stokes equations. The Navier-Stokes equations are simplified on the basis of the asymptotic analysis carried out in [1], are written in variables of the Dorodnitsyn type [2] and are solved by the method proposed in [3, 4] extended to the case of three-dimensional flows. The flow at zero angle of attack past elliptic paraboloids, two-sheeted hyperboloids and triaxial ellipsoids is calculated. Some results of investigating the flow past such bodies are presented. Flow past a sphere in the analogous approximation was considered in [5], where a comparison was also made with the solution of the complete Navier-Stokes equations [6, 7].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 134–142, July–August, 1987.In conclusion, the authors wish to express their warm thanks to V. One of the most important problems of the theory of processing polymer materials is the investigation of the flow of thermoplasts in the region of deformation of rolling machines. In this paper, an analysis is carried out of this process, based on equations for an anomalously viscous liquid, including the energy equation in the bipolar system of coordinates. An analytical solution is given for this system of equations, and also given are the results of the solution obtained by numerical methods of analysis, taking account of the dependence of the rheological coefficients on the temperature. The dependence of the maximum temperature rise in the region of deformation on the speed of rotation of the rollers, the coordinates of the material feed in the region of deformation, and the rheological coefficients, is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 17–24, March–April, 1976.In conclusion, the authors thank S. In the framework of the approximation of local similarity to the Navier-Stokes equations, an investigation is made of the axisymmetric flow of homogeneous gas in a hypersonic shock layer, this including the region of transition through the shock wave. Boundary conditions, which take into account blowing of gas, are specified on the surface of the body and in the undisturbed flow. A numerical solution to the problem is obtained in a wide range of variation of the Reynolds number and the blowing parameter. Expressions are found for the dependences on the blowing parameter usually employed in boundary layer theory of the coefficients of friction and heat transfer on the surface of the body, which are divided by their values obtained for blowing parameter equal to zero. It is shown that these dependences are universal and the same as the dependences obtained from the solution of the equations of a hypersonic viscous shock layer with modified Rankin-Hugoniot relations across the shock wave and from the solution of the boundary layer equations.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 199–202, January–February, 1980.  相似文献

The plane steady problem of the flow of a viscous wall jet past a smoothed break in the contour of a body is considered. For convenience, the flow in the neighborhood of the junction between two flat plates inclined at an angle to each other is chosen for study. As a result of the small extent of the region investigated the flow field is divided into two layers: the main part of the jet, which undergoes inviscid rotation, and a thin sublayer at the wall, which ensures the satisfaction of the no-slip condition. Particular interest attaches to the flow regime in which the solution in the sublayer satisfies the Prandtl boundary layer equations with a given pressure gradient. A similar problem was studied in [1–4]. The present case is distinguished by the structure of the free interaction region in a small neighborhood of the point of zero surface friction stress. By means of the method of matched asymptotic expansions, applied to the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations, it is established that the interaction mechanism is that described in [5–7]. As a result, an integrodifferential equation describing the behavior of the surface friction stress function is obtained. A numerical solution of this equation is presented. The range of plate angles on which solutions of the equation obtained exist and, therefore, flows of this general type are realized is determined. The essential nonuniqueness of the possible solutions is established, and in particular attention is drawn to the possible existence of six permissible friction distributions.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 38–45, January–February, 1986.The author wishes to thank V. Direct numerical modeling based on a net method is used to investigate the convective flow of a viscous compressible gas in a closed square region heated from below. The complete Navier-Stokes equations and some simplified models of the type of Boussinesq equations are used. The influence of the hydrostatic compressibility on the bifurcation of the solutions is investigated. A definition of the Rayleigh number that makes it possible to match results obtained using different models is proposed.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 163–166, May–June, 1993.  相似文献

On swirling jets
An exact solution to the Navier-Stokes equations is found for a jet emanating from the end of a vortex filament into a region filled with a fluid. Depending on the degree of swirling of the jet, a closed or open flow regime is realized. In the case of strong swirling, the solution is not unique. Approximate analytic solutions to problems as well as numerical solutions are given.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 26–35, January–February, 1979.I am grateful to M.
