A subgroup is called c-semipermutable in G if A has a minimal supplement T in G such that for every subgroup T 1 of T there is an element xT satisfying AT 1 x = T 1 x A. We obtain a few results about the c-semipermutable subgroups and use them to determine the structures of some finite groups.  相似文献

Let A be a subgroup of a group G and X be a nonempty subset of G. A is said to be X-semipermutable in G if A has a supplement T in G such that A is X-permutable with every subgroup of T. In this paper, we investigate further the influence of X-semipermutability of some subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Some new criteria for a group G to be supersoluble or p-nilpotent are obtained.  相似文献

In general, given a finite group G, a prime p and a p-subgroup R of G, the sylowizers of R in G are not conjugate. In this paper we afford some conditions to achieve the conjugation of the sylowizers of R in a p-soluble group G, among others
1.  p = 2 and the Sylow 2-subgroups of G are dihedral or quaternion.
2.  The Sylow p-subgroups of G have order at most p 3.
3.  p is odd, R is abelian and every element of order p in C G (R) lies in R.

Let be a saturated formation containing the class of supersolvable groups and let G be a finite group. The following theorems are presented: (1) G ∈ if and only if there is a normal subgroup H such that G/H ∈ and every maximal subgroup of all Sylow subgroups of H is either c-normal or S-quasinormally embedded in G. (2) G ∈ if and only if there is a normal subgroup H such that G/H ∈ and every maximal subgroup of all Sylow subgroups of F*(H), the generalized Fitting subgroup of H, is either c-normal or S-quasinormally embedded in G. (3) G ∈ if and only if there is a normal subgroup H such that G/H ∈ and every cyclic subgroup of F*(H) of prime order or order 4 is either c-normal or S-quasinormally embedded in G. This paper identifies a certain class of locally supersoluble groups (called soluble hall-T groups) which contains the soluble T-groups as well as the nilpotent groups. The main result states that the product of a normal soluble hall-T subgroup and a subnormal locally supersoluble subgroup is always locally supersoluble.AMS Subject Classification (1991): 20E25, 20F16, 20F19  相似文献

We call a subgroup H of a finite group G c-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and HK ⩽ core(H). In this paper it is proved that a finite group G is p-nilpotent if G is S 4-free and every minimal subgroup of PG N is c-supplemented in N G (P), and when p = 2 P is quaternion-free, where p is the smallest prime number dividing the order of G, P a Sylow p-subgroup of G. As some applications of this result, some known results are generalized.  相似文献

The following results are proved. In Theorem 1, it is stated that there exist both finitely presented and not finitely presented 2-generated nonfree groups which are k-free-like for any k ⩾ 2. In Theorem 2, it is claimed that every nonvirtually cyclic (resp., noncyclic and torsion-free) hyperbolic m-generated group is k-free-like for every k ⩾ m + 1 (resp., k ⩾ m). Finally, Theorem 3 asserts that there exists a 2-generated periodic group G which is k-free-like for every k ⩾ 3. Supported by NSF (grant Nos. DMS 0455881 and DMS-0700811). (A. Yu. Olshanskii, M. V. On complemented subgroups of finite groups   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A subgroup H of a group G is said to be complemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and HK = 1. In this paper we determine the structure of finite groups with some complemented primary subgroups, and obtain some new results about p-nilpotent groups.  相似文献

We present a method for computing pth roots using a polynomial basis over finite fields of odd characteristic p, p ≥ 5, by taking advantage of a binomial reduction polynomial. For a finite field extension of our method requires p − 1 scalar multiplications of elements in by elements in . In addition, our method requires at most additions in the extension field. In certain cases, these additions are not required. If z is a root of the irreducible reduction polynomial, then the number of terms in the polynomial basis expansion of z 1/p , defined as the Hamming weight of z 1/p or , is directly related to the computational cost of the pth root computation. Using trinomials in characteristic 3, Ahmadi et al. (Discrete Appl Math 155:260–270, 2007) give is greater than 1 in nearly all cases. Using a binomial reduction polynomial over odd characteristic p, p ≥ 5, we find always.   相似文献

The influence of s-conditionally permutable subgroups on finite groups   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A subgroup H of a group G is called s-conditionally permutable in G if for every Sylow subgroup T of G there exists an element x ∈ G such that HTx = TxH. Using the concept of s-conditionally permutable subgroups, some new characterizations of finite groups are obtained and several interesting results are generalized.  相似文献

We determine the L p discrepancy of the two-dimensional Hammersley point set in base b. These formulas show that the L p discrepancy of the Hammersley point set is not of best possible order with respect to the general (best possible) lower bound on L p discrepancies due to Roth and Schmidt. To overcome this disadvantage we introduce permutations in the construction of the Hammersley point set and show that there always exist permutations such that the L p discrepancy of the generalized Hammersley point set is of best possible order. For the L 2 discrepancy such permutations are given explicitly. In this paper we study the L p -discrepancy of digitally shifted Hammersley point sets. While it is known that the (unshifted) Hammersley point set (which is also known as Roth net) with N points has L p -discrepancy (p an integer) of order (log N)/N, we show that there always exists a shift such that the digitally shifted Hammersley point set has L p -discrepancy (p an even integer) of order which is best possible by a result of W. Schmidt. Further we concentrate on the case p = 2. We give very tight lower and upper bounds for the L 2-discrepancy of digitally shifted Hammersley point sets which show that the value of the L 2-discrepancy of such a point set mostly depends on the number of zero coordinates of the shift and not so much on the position of these. Let be a class of groups. A subgroup H of a group G is called -s-supplemented in G, if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and K/KHG belongs to where HG is the maximal normal subgroup of G which is contained in H. The main purpose of this paper is to study some subgroups of Fitting subgroup and generalized Fitting subgroup -s-supplemented and some new criterions of p-nilpotency of finite groups are obtained. *This research is supported by the grant of NSFC and TianYuan Fund of Mathematics of China (Grant #10626047).  相似文献

L p approximation capability of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks is investigated. If g: R +1R 1 and ∈ L loc p (R n ) with 1 ≤ p < ∞, then the RBF neural networks with g as the activation function can approximate any given function in L p (K) with any accuracy for any compact set K in R n , if and only if g(x) is not an even polynomial. It is proved that association schemes with bipartite basis graphs are exactly 2-schemes. This result follows from a characterization of p-schemes for an arbitrary prime p in terms of basis digraphs. We give a new proof of the Minami–Webb formula for classifying spaces of finite groups by exploiting Symonds’s resolution of Webb’s conjecture. The methods are applicable to obtain a stable decomposition of Minami’s type for the classifying spaces of the three exotic p-local finite groups which were introduced by Ruiz and Viruel at the prime 7. We obtain a similar decomposition for the classifying spaces of a family of exotic p-local finite groups which were constructed by Broto, Levi and Oliver. Consider some finite group G and a finite subgroup H of G. Say that H is c-quasinormal in G if G has a quasinormal subgroup T such that HT = G and TH is quasinormal in G. Given a noncyclic Sylow subgroup P of G, we fix some subgroup D such that 1 < |D| < | P| and study the structure of G under the assumption that all subgroups H of P of the same order as D, having no supersolvable supplement in G, are c-quasinormal in G.  相似文献

We prove the existence of the computable families of finite sets and general recursive functions with no e-principal numbering. We give a series of examples of e-degrees such that the p-degrees of their computable numberings include no top p-degree.  相似文献
