A novel series of double‐decker lanthanide(III) bis(phthalocyaninato)–C60 dyads [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)]–C60 (M=Sm, Eu, Lu; Pc=phthalocyanine) ( 1 a – c ) have been synthesized from unsymmetrically functionalized heteroleptic sandwich complexes [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)] (Ln=Sm, Eu, Lu) 3 a – c and fulleropyrrolidine carboxylic acid 2 . The sandwich complexes 3 a – c were obtained by means of a stepwise procedure from unsymmetrically substituted free‐base phthalocyanine 5 , which was first transformed into the monophthalocyaninato intermediate [LnIII(acac)(Pc)] and further reacted with 1,2‐dicyanobenzene in the presence of 1,8‐diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec‐7‐ene (DBU). 1H NMR spectra of the bis(phthalocyaninato) complexes 3 a – c and dyads 1 a – c were obtained by adding hydrazine hydrate to solutions of the complexes in [D7]DMF, a treatment that converts the free radical double‐deckers into the protonated species, that is, [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)H] and [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)H]–C60. The electronic absorption spectra of 3 a – c and 1 a – c in THF exhibit typical transitions of free‐radical sandwich complexes. In the case of dyads 1 a – c , the spectra display the absorption bands of both constituents, but no evidence of ground‐state interactions could be appreciated. When the UV/Vis spectra of 3 a – c and 1 a – c were recorded in DMF, typical features of the reduced forms were observed. Cyclic voltammetry studies for 3 a – c and 1 a – c were performed in THF. The electrochemical behavior of dyads 1 a – c is almost the exact sum of the behavior of the components, namely the double‐decker [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)] and the C60 fullerene, thus confirming the lack of ground‐state interactions between the electroactive units. Photophysical studies on dyads 1 a – c indicate that only after irradiation at 387 nm, which excites both C60 and [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)] components, a photoinduced electron transfer from the [LnIII(Pc)(Pc′)] to C60 occurs.  相似文献

Homoleptic bis(phthalocyaninato) rare-earth double-deckers complexes [M(III)[Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4]2] (M = Eu, Y, Lu; Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4 = 1,8,15,22-tetrakis(3-pentyloxy)phthalocyaninate) have been prepared by treating the metal-free phthalocyanine H2Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4 with the corresponding M(acac)3.nH2O (acac = acetylacetonate) in refluxing n-octanol. Due to the C4h symmetry of the Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4 ligand and the double-decker structure, all the reactions give a mixture of two stereoisomers with C4h and D4 symmetry. The former isomer, which is a major product, can be partially separated by recrystallization due to its higher crystallinity. The molecular structure of the major isomer of the Y analogue has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The metal center is eight-coordinate bound to the isoindole nitrogen atoms of the two phthalocyaninato ligands, forming a distorted square antiprism. Such an arrangement leads to an interesting pinwheel structure when viewed along the C4 axis, which assumes a very unusual S8 symmetry. The major isomers of all these double-deckers have also been characterized with a wide range of spectroscopic methods. A systematic investigation of their electronic absorption and electrochemical data reveals that the pi-pi interaction between the two Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4 rings is weaker than that for the corresponding unsubstituted or beta-substituted bis(phthalocyaninato) analogues.  相似文献

Mixed cyclization of 3-mono-, 4-mono-, or 4,5-di(porphyrinated) phthalonitrile compounds 2, 3, or 6 and unsubstituted phthalonitrile with the half-sandwich complex [EuIII(acac)(Pc)] (Pc=phthalocyaninate, acac=acetylacetonate) as the template in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) in n-pentanol afforded novel porphyrin-appended europium(III) bis(phthalocyaninato) complexes 7-9 in 30-40% yield. These mixed tetrapyrrole triads and tetrad were spectroscopically and electrochemically characterized and their photophysical properties were also investigated with steady-state and transient spectroscopic methods. It has been found that the fluorescence of the porphyrin moiety is quenched effectively by the double-decker unit through an intramolecular photoinduced electron-transfer process, which takes place in several hundred femtoseconds, while the recombination of the charge-separated state occurs in several picoseconds. By using different phthalocyanines containing different numbers of porphyrin substituents at the peripheral or nonperipheral position(s) of the ligand, while the other unsubstituted phthalocyanine remains unchanged in these double-deckers, the effects of the number and the position of the porphyrin substituents on these photophysical processes were also examined.  相似文献

The half-sandwich rare-earth complexes [M(III)(acac)(TClPP)] (M = Sm, Eu, Y; TClPP = meso-tetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrinate; acac = acetylacetonate), generated in situ from [M(acac)3] x n H2O and H2(TClPP), were treated with 1,8,15,22-tetrakis(3-pentyloxy)phthalocyanine [H2{Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4}] (Pc = phthalocyaninate) under reflux in n-octanol to yield both the neutral nonprotonated and protonated (phthalocyaninato)(porphyrinato) rare-earth double-decker complexes, [M(III){Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4}(TClPP)] (1-3) and [M(III)H{Pc(alpha-OC5H11)4}(TClPP)] (4-6), respectively. In contrast, reaction of [Y(III)(acac)(TClPP)] with 1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25-octakis(1-butyloxy)phthalocyanine [H2Pc(alpha-OC4H9)8] gave only the protonated double-decker complex [Y(III)H{Pc(alpha-OC4H9)8}(TClPP)] (7). These observations clearly show the importance of the number and positions of substituents on the phthalocyanine ligand in controlling the nature of the (phthalocyaninato)(porphyrinato) rare-earth double-deckers obtained. In particular, alpha-alkoxylation of the phthalocyanine ligand is found to stabilize the protonated form, a fact supported by molecular-orbital calculations. A combination of mass spectrometry, NMR, UV-visible, near-IR, MCD, and IR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analyses, facilitated the differentiation of the newly prepared neutral nonprotonated and protonated double-decker complexes. The crystal structure of the protonated form has been determined for the first time.  相似文献

A novel approach for the structural analysis of heteroleptic triple‐decker (porphyrinato)(phthalocyaninato) lanthanides(III) in solutions is developed. The developed approach consists in molecular mechanics (MM+) optimization of the geometry of the complex taking into account the lanthanide‐induced shift (LIS) datasets. LISs of the resonance peaks in 1H NMR spectra of a series of symmetric complexes [An4P]Ln[(15C5)4Pc]Ln[An4P], where An4P2? is 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(4‐methoxyphenyl)porphyrinato‐dianion, [(15C5)4Pc]2? is 2,3,9,10,16,17,24,25‐tetrakis(15‐crown‐5)phthalocyaninato‐dianion and Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, are analyzed. Analysis of LISs showed two sets of protons in the molecule with opposite signs of shift. Two‐nuclei analysis of LISs testifies isostructurality of the whole series of investigated complexes in solution despite contraction of the lanthanide ions. Model‐free separation of contact and dipolar contributions of LISs was performed with one‐nucleus technique and did not show changes in contact and dipolar terms within the investigated series. MM+ optimization of the molecular structure allowed the interpretation of features of LIS for each particular group of protons. Parameterization of MM + ‐optimized model of molecule with values of structure‐dependent dipolar contributions of LIS allows the development of the precise structural model of the triple‐decker complex in solution. This approach allows the determination of the geometry and structure of the sandwich macrocyclic tetrapyrrolic complexes together with conformational analysis of flexible peripheral substituents in solutions. The developed method can be applied with minor modifications for the determination of structural parameters of other types of lanthanides(III) complexes with tetrapyrrolic ligands and also supramolecular systems based on them. The selective synthesis of heteroleptic (heteronuclear) sandwich-type lanthanide phthalocyanines has been accomplished. Double-decker complexes BuPcLnPc, and BuPcLnPcCl (Ln = Lu, Eu; BuPc = 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octabutylphthalocyaninate; Pc = phthalocyaninate, ClPc = 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octachlorophthalocyaninate) were obtained in good yields by a direct interaction of metal-free ligand BuPcH2 with the monophthalocyanines PcLnOAc or ClPcLnOAc. Heteronuclear triple-decker phthalocyanines PcEuRPcLuRPc, ClPcEuRPcLuRPc and BuPcEuRPcLuRPc (RPc = BuPc, tBuPc; tBuPc = 2(3),9(10),16(17),23(24)-tetra-tert-butylphthalocyaninate) were obtained from the corresponding mono-(PcEuOAc, ClPcEuOAc, BuPcEuOAc) and bisphthalocyanines (RPc2Lu) under similar conditions.  相似文献

The effects of alkyloxy substituents attached to one phthalocyanine ligand of three heteroleptic bis(phthalocyaninato) yttrium complexes Y(Pc)[Pc(α‐OCH3)4] ( 1 ), Y(Pc)[Pc(α‐OCH3)8] ( 2 ), and Y(Pc)[Pc(β‐OCH3)8] ( 3 ), as well as their reduction products {Y(Pc)[Pc(α‐OCH3)4]}? ( 4 ), {Y(Pc)[Pc(α‐OCH3)8]}? ( 5 ), and {Y(Pc)[Pc(β‐OCH3)8]}? ( 6 ) [H2Pc(α‐OCH3)4=1,8,15,22‐tetrakis(methyloxy)phthalocyanine; H2Pc(α‐OCH3)8=1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25‐octakis(methyloxy)phthalocyanine; H2Pc(β‐OCH3)8=2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24‐octakis(methyloxy)phthalocyanine] are studied by DFT calculations. Good consistency is found between the calculated results and experimental data for the electronic absorption, IR, and Raman spectra of 1 and 3 . Introduction of electron‐donating methyloxy groups on one phthalocyanine ring of the heteroleptic double‐deckers induces structural deformation in both phthalocyanine ligands, electron transfer between the two phthalocyanine rings, changes in orbital energy and composition, shift of electronic absorption bands, and different vibrational modes of the unsubstituted and substituted phthalocyanine ligands in the IR and Raman spectra in comparison with the unsubstituted homoleptic counterpart Y(Pc)2. The calculations reveal that incorporation of methyloxy substituents at the nonperipheral positions has greater influence on the structure and spectroscopic properties of bis(phthalocyaninato) yttrium double‐deckers than at the peripheral positions, which increases with increasing number of substituents. Nevertheless, the substituent effect of alkyloxy substituents at one phthalocyanine ligand of the double‐decker on the unsubstituted phthalocyanine ring and on the whole molecule and the importance of the position and number of alkyloxy substituents are discussed. In addition, the effect of reducing 1 – 3 to 4 – 6 on the structure and spectroscopic properties of the bis(phthalocyaninato) yttrium compounds is also discussed. This systemic DFT study is not only useful for understanding the structure and spectroscopic properties of bis(phthalocyaninato) rare earth metal complexes but also helpful in designing and preparing double‐deckers with tunable structure and properties.  相似文献

Phthalocyanine compounds of novel type based on a bridged bis‐ligand, denoted “intracavity” complexes, have been prepared. Complexation of clamshell ligand 1,1′‐[benzene‐1,2‐diylbis(methanediyloxy)]bis[9(10),16(17),23(24)‐tri‐tert‐butylphthalocyanine] (clam,tBuPc2H4, 1 ) with lanthanide(III) salts [Ln(acac)3] ? n H2O (Ln=Eu, Dy, Lu; acetylacetonate) led to formation of double‐deckers clam,tBuPc2Ln ( 2 a – c ). Formation of high molecular weight oligophthalocyanine complexes was demonstrated as well. The presence of an intramolecular covalent bridge affecting the relative arrangement of macrocycles was shown to result in specific physicochemical properties. A combination of UV/Vis/NIR and NMR spectroscopy, MALDI‐TOF mass‐spectrometry, cyclic voltammetry, and spectroelectrochemistry provided unambiguous characterization of the freshly prepared bis‐phthalocyanines, and also revealed intrinsic peculiarities in the structure–property relationship, which were supported by theoretical calculations. Unexpected NMR activity of the paramagnetic dysprosium complex 2 b in the neutral π‐radical form was observed and examined as well.  相似文献

Complexes of lanthanides(III) (La-Lu) and Y(III) with 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid (gallic acid) were obtained and their thermal decomposition, IR spectra and solubility in water have been investigated. When heated, the complexes with a general formula Ln(C7H5O5)(C7H4O5nH2O (n=2 for La-Ho and Y: n=0 for Er-Lu) lose their crystallization water and decompose to the oxides Ln2O3, CeO2, Pr6O11, and Tb4O7, except of lanthanum and neodymium complexes, which additionally form stable oxocarbonates such as Ln2O2CO3. The complexes are sparingly soluble in water (0.3·10–5–8.3·10–4 mol dm–3).This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The periodic octupolar vibrational nature of the electron cloud in sandwich‐type bis(phthalocyaninato) yttrium double‐decker compounds has been revealed on the basis of coupled perturbed density functional theory. This in turn results in an intense hyper‐Rayleigh scattering response and renders the double‐decker skeletons excellent second‐order hyperpolarizability with a maximum value as high as 5.55×106 au (≈105×10?30 esu, theoretical prediction) achieved for the molecular conformation with a rotation angle between two phthalocyanine chromophores of approximately 70°.  相似文献

The reactions of bidentate diimine ligands (L2) with cationic bis(diimine)[Ru(L)(L1)(CO)Cl]+ complexes (L, L1, L2 are dissimilar diimine ligands), in the presence of trimethylamine-N-oxide (Me3NO) as a decarbonylation reagent, lead to the formation of heteroleptic tris(diimine) ruthenium(II) complexes, [Ru(L)(L1)(L2)]2+. Typically isolated as hexafluorophosphate or perchlorate salts, these complexes were characterised by UV-visible, infrared and mass spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, microanalyses and NMR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray studies have elucidated the structures of K[Ru(bpy)(phen)(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)](PF(6))(3).1/2H(2)O, [Ru(bpy)(5,6-Me(2)phen)(Hdpa)](ClO(4))(2), [Ru(bpy)(phen)(5,6-Me(2)phen)](ClO(4))(2), [Ru(bpy)(5,6'-Me(2)phen)(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)](PF(6))(2).EtOH, [Ru(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)(phen)(Hdpa)](PF(6))(2).MeOH and [Ru(bpy)(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)(Hdpa)](ClO(4))(2).1/2Hdpa (where Hdpa is di(2-pyridyl)amine). A novel feature of the first complex is the presence of a dinuclear anionic adduct, [K(2)(PF(6))(6)](4-), in which the two potassium centres are bridged by two fluorides from different hexafluorophosphate ions forming a K(2)F(2) bridging unit and by two KFPFK bridging moieties.  相似文献

A series of amphiphilic heteroleptic tris(phthalocyaninato) europium complexes with hydrophilic poly(oxyethylene) heads and hydrophobic alkoxy tails {Pc[(OC2H4)2OCH3]8}Eu{Pc[(OC2H4)2OCH3]8}Eu[Pc(OCnH2n + 1)8] (n = 6, 8, 10,12) (1-4) were designed and prepared from the reaction between homoleptic bis(phthalocyaninato) europium compound {Pc[(OC2H4)2OCH3]8}Eu{Pc[(OC2H4)2OCH3]8} and metal-free 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(alkoxy)phthalocyanine H2Pc(OCnH2n + 1)8 (n = 6, 8, 10,12) in the presence of Eu(acac)3.H2O (Hacac = acetylacetone) in boiling 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene (TCB). These novel sandwich triple-decker complexes have been characterized by a wide range of spectroscopic methods and have been electrochemically studied. With the help of the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique, these typical amphiphilic triple-decker complexes have been fabricated into organic field effect transistors (OFET) with an unusual bottom contact configuration. The devices display good OFET performance with the carrier mobility for holes in the direction parallel to the aromatic phthalocyanine rings, which shows dependence on the length of the hydrophobic alkoxy side chains, decreasing from 0.46 for 1 to 0.014 cm2 V(-1) s(-1) for 4 along with the increase in the carbon number in the hydrophobic alkoxy side chains.  相似文献

Molecular structures for three oxidation forms (anion, radical, and cation) of terbium(III) bis(porphyrinato) double‐decker complexes have been systematically studied. We found that the redox state controls the azimuthal rotation angle (φ) between the two porphyrin macrocycles. For [TbIII(tpp)2]n (tpp: tetraphenylporphyrinato, n=?1, 0, and +1), φ decreases at each stage of the oxidation process. The decrease in φ is due to the higher steric repulsion between the phenyl rings on the porphyrin macrocycle and the β hydrogen atoms on the other porphyrin macrocycle, which results from the shorter interfacial distance between the two porphyrin macrocycles. Conversely, φ=45° for both [TbIII(oep)2]?1 and [TbIII(oep)2]0 (oep: octaethylporphyrinato), but φ=36° for [TbIII(oep)2]+1. Theoretical calculations suggest that the smaller azimuthal rotation angle of the cation form is due to the electronic interaction in the doubly oxidized ligand system.  相似文献
