The novel neutral mononuclear zinc complexes with the quinolone antibacterial drugs enrofloxacin and oxolinic acid in the presence of the nitrogen donor heterocyclic ligand pyridine have been synthesized and characterized. The experimental data suggest that the quinolone ligands are on the deprotonated mode acting as bidentate ligands coordinated to the zinc(II) ion through the ketone oxygen and a carboxylato oxygen. The crystal structure of the complex bis(enrofloxacinato)bis(pyridine)zinc(II), 1, has been determined with X-ray crystallography. The biological activity of the complexes has been evaluated by examining their ability to bind to calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) with UV and fluorescence spectroscopies. UV spectroscopic titration studies of the interaction of the complexes with DNA have shown that they can bind to CT-DNA and the DNA binding constants have been calculated. Competitive studies with ethidium bromide (EB) have shown that the complexes exhibit the ability to displace the DNA-bound EB indicating that they can bind to DNA in strong competition with EB for the intercalative binding site.  相似文献

This review narrates the electron transfer reactions of various nickel(III) and nickel(IV) complexes reported during the period 1981 until today. The reactions have been categorized mainly with respect to the type of nickel complexes. The reactivity of nickel(III) complexes of macrocycles, 2,2′-bipyridyl and 1,10-phenanthroline, peptides and oxime–imine, and of nickel(IV) complexes derived from oxime–imine, oxime and miscellaneous ligands with various organic and inorganic electron donors have been included. Kinetic and mechanistic features associated with such interactions have been duly analyzed. The relevance of Marcus cross-relation equations in the delineation of the electron transfer paths has also been critically discussed.  相似文献

Behavior of physiologically active compound, bis(hydrazinocarbonylmethyl) sulfoxide, in aqueous solution has been studied by means of potentiometry, spectrophotometry, and mathematical simulation. Protolytic properties of bis(hydrazinocarbonylmethyl) sulfoxide have been described, and the formation of sodium salt has been confirmed. Composition and stability constants of bis(hydrazinocarbonylmethyl) sulfoxide complexes with copper(II) and nickel(II) have been determined, and the complexes structures have been simulated by molecular mechanics method.  相似文献

In the present study, photophysical properties of fluorescent poly(oxyethylene phosphate) tris(β-diketonate) europium (III) complexes have been studied by means of stationary and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy (in ethanol at room temperature). The luminescent quantum yields and efficiency for the energy transfer from β-diketonate ligands to Eu(III) ion have been determined for the studied complexes by using diffusion-enhanced fluorescence resonance energy transfer. Obtained results show effect of the polymer ligands upon photophysical properties of the complexes and a relation has been established with length of the oxyethylene spacer between two phosphonate groups. The Förster radiuses of the synthesized compounds with SulfoRhodamine 101 as acceptor have been calculated. Measured distances between molecules of the donors and acceptor at identical acceptor/donor molar ratios have been illustrated the difference in structure of the ternary and polymer complexes in solution even at low concentration.  相似文献

Mixed-ligand complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Zn(II) with 8-hydroxyquinoline and thiophene-2-carboxylic acid as two different ligands, have been isolated in pure state. The formation of these complexes has been inferred potentiometrically. The isolated complexes have been characterized by their elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectra, conductivity and magnetic measurements. Solid state dehydration of the hydrated complexes and subsequent decomposition of the anhydrous complexes have been studied by simultaneous DTA and TG techniques. The thermal stability order of the hydrated compounds is Cu>Co>Ni>Zn, but in the decomposition process the trend observed is Co>Zn>Ni>Cu. Some parameters like activation energy and order of reaction for each process have been computed.  相似文献

The instability constants of the platinum(II) and palladium(II) bromide complexes have been determined by potentiometry. The thermodynamic stability has been found to depend on the geometric structure of the complex and the nature of the central atom. Rhenium complexes formed by reversible acid-base reactions with hydroxylamine (HAM) chloride in alkaline and acidic media have been studied by means of electronic absorption spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). A stable diamagnetic complex of rhenium(VI) with amide forms of HAM has been shown to be formed in an alkaline medium. Under action of acid, three rhenium(VI) complexes with protonated amido ligands and chloride ions has been shown to form. EPR spectral parameters have been determined. Conditions for using the complexes in analysis have been proposed.  相似文献

Uranyl complexes of the type [UO2L2B], where L is the enolate of acetoacetanilide, and B a monodentate base like pyridine, picoline, aniline or N-substituted aniline, have been synthesised and characterised by analysis, conductance and magnetic measurements, thermal, IR and NMR spectral studies. The order of thermal stability and features of IR spectra of the series have been explained. Zinc(II), cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes of o-vanillin oxime have been synthesized and characterized by different physicochemical techniques. All the complexes have been subjected to non-isothermal decomposition studies in nitrogen atmosphere using thermogravimetry. The kinetic parameters for the decomposition of these complexes were evaluated using different methods and comparatively better results were obtained by these different methods. It has also been found that the decomposition processes of all these complexes follow first order kinetics. The coordination chemistry of copper(II) with tridentate aroylhydrazones is briefly discussed in this article. Two types of aroylhydrazones derived from aroylhydrazines and ortho-hydroxy aldehydes or 2-pyridine-carboxaldehyde have been used. The characterization of the complexes has been performed with the help of various physico-chemical techniques. Solid state structural patterns have been established by X-ray crystallography. In the solid state, structural varieties of these complexes are seen to range from monomeric, dimeric, polymeric and one-dimensional self-assembly via hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions. EPR spectroscopy and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements have been used to reveal the nature of the coordination geometry and magnetic characteristics of these complexes.  相似文献

Two Ru(II)-Co(III) heterodinuclear complexes have been synthesised as model complexes for photoactivated cytotoxins. Photoinduced ligand release has been demonstrated and the rate shown to depend on dioxygen concentration. Emission lifetimes and quantum yields are reported. These results validate the concept and justify further work to synthesise systems containing cytotoxic ligands.  相似文献

Three complexes containing bidentate N-2,3-dimethylphenylglycine, (2,3-HDPG), N-2,4-dimethylphenylglycine, (2,4-HDPG) and N-2-ethylphenylglycine, (2-HEPG) acids have been prepared and characterized. These compounds have the general formula Zn(2,3-DPG)2·2 H2O, Zn(2,4-DPG)2 and Zn(2-EPG)2·2 H2O, respectively. The structure of the complexes as inferred from their chemistries have been found to be compatible with the infrared spectral data. The thermal behaviour of these complexes has been studied from their TG, DTG and DSC diagrams obtained in a dynamic atmosphere of pure air. Heats of dehydration have been calculated from DSC curves.  相似文献

This review gives an overview of the progress on tri- and high-nuclearity palladium(II) platinum(II) complexes and discusses recent developments in the chemistry of these complexes. Three or more square-planar metal atoms can be assembled in several ways resulting into myriad geometric forms of the resulting complexes. These square planes may be sharing a corner, an edge and two edges or even separated by ligands having their donor atoms incapable of forming chelates yielding dendrimers and self-assembled molecules. A variety of ligands have been used to stabilize these complexes. The chemistry of these complexes has been dealt based on nuclearity of the complexes. Synthetic, spectroscopic, structural aspects and applications of these complexes are described in this review.  相似文献

A series of new β-diketonato complexes have been synthesized from the reactions of iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) Ph3P complexes with β-diketones (acetylacetone, benzoylacetone and dibenzoylmethane). All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, spectral studies (i.r., electronic., magnetic., e.p.r., 1H-n.m.r.) and cyclic voltammetry. The new complexes have been used as catalysts for aromatic coupling and oxidation reactions. Higher catalytic activity has been observed for the nickel(II) complexes compared to the other complexes.  相似文献

A new series of complexes of 2-hydroxy-3,5-dimethyl acetophenone oxime (HDMAOX) with Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) have been prepared and characterized by different physical techniques. Infrared spectra of the complexes indicate deprotonation and coordination of the phenolic OH. It also confirms that nitrogen atom of the oximino group contributes to the complexation. Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal square planar geometry for Cu(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes and tetrahedral geometry for Co(II) complex. The elemental analyses and mass spectral data have justified the ML(2) composition of complexes. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters were computed from the thermal decomposition data using Coats and Redfern method. The geometry of the metal complexes has been optimized with the help of molecular modeling. The free ligand (HDMAOX) and its metal complexes have been tested in vitro against Alternarie alternate, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus nidulans and Aspergillus niger fungi and Streptococcus, Staph, Staphylococcus and Escherchia coli bacteria in order to assess their antimicrobial potential. The results indicate that the ligand and its metal complexes possess antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(II), palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes witho-(OCD),m-(MCD) andp-chlorophenyldithiocarbamate (PCD) ligands have been synthesised and characterised by chemical analyses, molecular weight determinations, conductance measurements, electronic and i.r. spectral studies. The thermal behaviour of the complexes has been studied by t.g. and d.t.a. techniques in a static air atmosphere and heats of reaction of different decomposition steps have been calculated from the d.t.a. curves. A series of luminescent multinuclear platinum(II) alkynyl complexes containing triethynylbenzene or 1,4-bis(3,5-diethynylphenyl)buta-1,3-diyne as cores has been successfully synthesized and characterized. The electronic absorption, emission, nanosecond transient absorption and electrochemical properties of these complexes have been reported. These complexes show long-lived emissions in degassed benzene solution and in alcoholic glass at 77 K. Moreover, they are found to exhibit two-photon absorption (2PA) and two-photon induced luminescence (TPIL) properties, and their two-photon absorption cross-sections have been determined to be 6-191 GM upon excitation at 720 nm. Through a systematic comparison, it has been found that tetra- and hexanuclear platinum(II) complexes show better 2PA and TPIL properties than their di- and trinuclear counterparts.  相似文献

A series of nine luminescent cyclometalated octahedral iridium(III) tris(2-phenylpyridine) complexes has been synthesized, functionalized with three different amino acids (glycine, alanine, and lysine), on one, two, or all three of the phenylpyridine ligands. All starting complexes and final compounds have been fully analyzed by one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) NMR spectroscopy, and photophysical data have been obtained for all the mono-, bis-, and tri- substituted iridium(III) complexes. Cellular uptake and localization have been studied with flow cytometry and confocal microscopy, respectively. Confocal experiments demonstrate that all nine substituted iridium(III) complexes show variable uptake in the tumor cells. The monosubstituted iridium(III) complexes give the highest cellular uptake, and the series substituted with lysines shows the highest toxicity. This systematic study of amino acid-functionalized Ir(ppy)(3) complexes provides guidelines for further functionalization and possible implementation of luminescent iridium complexes, for example, in (automated) peptide synthesis or biomarker specific targeting.  相似文献

A series of palladium(II) complexes with 1,2-bis[di(benzo-15-crown-5)phosphino]ethane ligand (dbcpe), [Pd(dbcpe)X2] (X = Cl 1, Br 2 and I 3), have been successfully synthesised and characterised. The X-ray crystal structure of dbcpe has also been determined. The cation-binding properties of the complexes have been studied and the stability constants with alkali metal cations determined. The crown-free analogue of dbcpe, 1,2-bis[bis(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)phosphino]ethane (ddmppe), and the related complexes have also been prepared and comparison studies have been made.  相似文献
