We prove that rings of weak dimension one are the rings with all (three-generated) ideals syzygetic. This leads to a characterization of these rings in terms of the André-Quillen homology.

Applying the theory of locally convex spaces to vector optimization, we investigate the relationship between Henig proper efficient points and generalized Henig proper efficient points. In particular, we obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for generalized Henig proper efficient points to be Henig proper efficient points. Let R be a Noetherian ring. We prove that R has global dimension at most two if, and only if, every prime ideal of R is of linear type. Similarly, we show that R has global dimension at most three if, and only if, every prime ideal of R is syzygetic. As a consequence, we derive a characterization of these rings using the André-Quillen homology.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce what we call twisted Kronecker products of cocycles of finite groups and show that the twisted Kronecker product of two cocycles is a Hadamard cocycle if and only if the two cocycles themselves are Hadamard cocycles. This enables us to generalize some known results concerning products and factorizations of central semi‐regular relative difference sets. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this note, we give a construction of strongly regular Cayley graphs. The presented construction is based on choosing cyclotomic classes in finite fields, and our results generalize ten of the eleven sporadic examples of cyclotomic strongly regular graphs given by Schmidt and White [B. Schmidt, C. White, All two-weight irreducible cyclic codes, Finite Fields Appl. 8 (2002), 321–367] into infinite families. These infinite families of strongly regular graphs have new parameters. The main tools that we employed are relative Gauss sums instead of explicit evaluations of Gauss sums.  相似文献

In this note, we establish some interesting relationships between the existence of Borwein's proper efficient points and the existence of bases for convex ordering cones in normed linear spaces. We show that, if the closed unit ball in a smooth normed space ordered by a convex cone possesses a proper efficient point in the sense of Borwein, then the ordering cone is based. In particular, a convex ordering cone in a reflexive space is based if the closed unit ball possesses a proper efficient point. Conversely, we show that, in any ordered normed space, if the ordering cone has a base, then every weakly compact set possesses a proper efficient point.The research was conducted while the author was working on his PhD Degree under the supervision of Professor J. The idea of almost convergence for double sequences was introduced by Moricz and Rhoades [Math. Proc. Cambridge Philos. Soc. 104 (1988) 283-294] and they also characterized the four dimensional strong regular matrices. This paper establishes a type of Kantorovich inequality subject to some constraints and obtains some lower bounds for the relative efficiency of the least squares. These lower bounds can be much sharper than that obtained by using the unconstrained Kantorovich inequality. Multivariate extensions of the results are also obtained. Theory, algorithms and LAPACK-style software for computing a pair of deflating subspaces with specified eigenvalues of a regular matrix pair (A, B) and error bounds for computed quantities (eigenvalues and eigenspaces) are presented. Thereordering of specified eigenvalues is performed with a direct orthogonal transformation method with guaranteed numerical stability. Each swap of two adjacent diagonal blocks in the real generalized Schur form, where at least one of them corresponds to a complex conjugate pair of eigenvalues, involves solving a generalized Sylvester equation and the construction of two orthogonal transformation matrices from certain eigenspaces associated with the diagonal blocks. The swapping of two 1×1 blocks is performed using orthogonal (unitary) Givens rotations. Theerror bounds are based on estimates of condition numbers for eigenvalues and eigenspaces. The software computes reciprocal values of a condition number for an individual eigenvalue (or a cluster of eigenvalues), a condition number for an eigenvector (or eigenspace), and spectral projectors onto a selected cluster. By computing reciprocal values we avoid overflow. Changes in eigenvectors and eigenspaces are measured by their change in angle. The condition numbers yield bothasymptotic andglobal error bounds. The asymptotic bounds are only accurate for small perturbations (E, F) of (A, B), while the global bounds work for all (E, F.) up to a certain bound, whose size is determined by the conditioning of the problem. It is also shown how these upper bounds can be estimated. Fortran 77software that implements our algorithms for reordering eigenvalues, computing (left and right) deflating subspaces with specified eigenvalues and condition number estimation are presented. Computational experiments that illustrate the accuracy, efficiency and reliability of our software are also described.  相似文献

We introduce the Linear Relative Canonical Analysis (LRCA) of Euclidean random variables. Then similar properties than for usual linear Canonical Analysis are obtained. Abstract

The notation of I–convergence was introduced and studied by Kostyrko, Macaj, Salat, and Wilczynski. Recently, the concept of I–convergent for a sequence of bounded linear operators has been studied by Khan and Shafiq. This has motivated us to introduce and study some new spaces of double sequences of bounded linear operators and their basic topological and algebraic properties of these spaces. And we study some of their basic topological and algebraic properties of these spaces. We prove some inclusion relations on these spaces.  相似文献
