The Gaussian wave-functional variational approximation is used to calculate the energy of one-particle state as well as the energy and wave function of two-particle state in the sinh-Gordon model in (1+1) dimensions. We find that there are no bound states in this model. The phase shifts of the scattering states are investigated in detail.  相似文献

This paper studies the two-vibron bound states in the β- Fermi Pasta-Ulam model by means of the number conserving approximation combined with the number state method. The results indicate that on-site, adjacent-site and mixed two-vibron bound states may exist in the model. Specially, wave number has a significant effect on such bound states, which may be considered as the quantum effects of the localized states in quantum systems.  相似文献

The Hubbard model on the kagome lattice has highly degenerate ground states (the flat lowest band) in the corresponding single-electron problem and exhibits the so-called flat-band ferromagnetism in the many-electron ground states as was found by Mielke [J. Phys. A 24, L73 (1991)]]. Here we study the model obtained by adding extra hopping terms to the above model. The lowest single-electron band becomes dispersive, and there is no band gap between the lowest band and the other band. We prove that, at half filling of the lowest band, the ground states of this perturbed model remain saturated ferromagnetic if the lowest band is nearly flat.  相似文献

We show that the steady states of the classical Heisenberg XXX spin-chain in an external magnetic field can be found by iterations of a quaternionic map. A restricted model, e.g., the xy spin-chain is known to have spatially chaotic steady states and the phase space occupied by these chaotic states is known to go through discrete changes as the field strength is varied. The same phenomenon is studied for the xxx spin-chain. It is seen that in this model the phase space volume varies smoothly with the external field.  相似文献

We present a innovative relationship between ground states of the Ising model and dimer coverings which sheds new light on the Ising models with highly degenerate ground states and enables one to construct such models. Thanks to this relationship we also find the generating function for dimers as the appropriate limit of the free energy per spin for the Ising model.  相似文献

We present, on a simple model of aone-dimensional crystal lattice, the consequences of theassumption that the phases in the action-anglerepresentation are random. We prove that this assumptionamounts to the introduction of a stochastic measurewhich can be interpreted as a Gaussian noise. Thepresence of noise gives rise to a new spectralrepresentation of states of the lattice. It is shownthat this new spectral representation of states can alsobe extended on an infinite lattice through a rigorouslydefined transition to the thermodynamic limit. Thetraditional spectral representation, as a superposition of independent modes, of such states as atomicdisplacements leads to meaningless expressions in thethermodynamic limit. One of the main results is thatunder the random phase assumption the interactions lead to the appearance of equilibrium states.We obtain an explicit spectral representation of suchstates. This specific model illustrates howprobabilistic behavior of an infinite system can bederived from classical laws of dynamics.  相似文献

We calculate the negative parityN * andΔ * states in the chiral bag model. After projecting out spurious center of mass states we reproduce the known masses reasonably well. Both the colour gluon exchange diagrams and the quark-quark spindependent forces due to the presence of Goldstone pions give important contributions to the ordering of the states. Previous calculations are examined and we conclude that the chiral bag models can sucessfully account for the negative parity states as well as the baryon ground states.  相似文献

A rotational model based on a simultaneous analysis of parity splitting and the alignment of the angular momentum is developed to describe high-spin negative-parity states. A simple formula for the energy of these states is proposed. It is shown that negative-parity states exhibit alignment, provided that the ground-state band is aligned and that the two opposite-parity bands can be considered as a single alternating-parity band.  相似文献

Some charmonium-like resonances such as X(3872) can be interpreted as possible D(*)D(*) molecular states. Within the quark model, we study the structure of such molecular states and the similar B(*)D(*) molecular states by taking into account the light meson exchange (π, η, ρ, ω and σ) between two light quarks from different mesons.  相似文献

The Local Approach for the calculation of electronic correlation energies in molecules is generalized to excited states. Within the Local Approach correlated states are obtained by applying a local projection operator on the Hartree-Fock ground state or simple reference states, which are used as zeroth order approximations for the excited states, respectively. In the case of excited states one has in addition to require the correlated states to be orthogonal on the states lower in energy. This is done by using Schmidt's orthogonalization. The method is applied to a simple model of the H6-ring for which an exact solution is available. The results obtained are of comparable quality as for the ground state.  相似文献

We wish to describe the coupling of a local current to the dual string as the amplitude for the string to collapse to a point. At the quantum level we note that states which are localized in the transverse directions are forced by the gauge constraints to have longitudinal extension. The best we can do in the conventional model is, therefore, to construct off-shell states which have zero helicity (but no unique spin). We calculate the propagator for such states and compare it with the model of Schwarz. In their respective critical dimensions (26 for the string and 16 for the off-shell model of Schwarz) the two results become identical. We also calculate the Green functions for the coupling of one of our off-shell states to any number of on-shell particles by means of the functional formalism. Our results have a close connection with the previous models of Schwarz and Wu and of Corrigan and Fairlie.  相似文献

For the spin-boson model we numerically exhibit special microscopic initial states that evolve, under pure quantum dynamics, from one macroscopically well-defined state to another. This is unusual in that typical states of the model evolve to superpositions of macroscopically different states. Although the mathematical rationale for the existence of the special states is not clear, that existence reflects favorably on a proposed theory of quantum measurement.  相似文献

Recent experimental work has shown that activity in living neural networks can propagate as a critical branching process that revisits many metastable states. Neural network theory suggests that attracting states could store information, but little is known about how a branching process could form such states. Here we use a branching process to model actual data and to explore metastable states in the network. When we tune the branching parameter to the critical point, we find that metastable states are most numerous and that network dynamics are not attracting, but neutral.  相似文献

The familiar unrestricted Hartree-Fock variational principles is generalized to include quasi-free states. As we show, these are in one-to-one correspondence with the one-particle density matrices and these, in turn, provide a convenient formulation of a generalized Hartree-Fock variational principle, which includes the BCS theory as a special case. While this generalization is not new, it is not well known and we begin by elucidating it. The Hubbard model, with its particle-hole symmetry, is well suited to exploring this theory because BCS states for the attractive model turn into usual HF states for the repulsive model. We rigorously determine the true, unrestricted minimizers for zero and for nonzero temperature in several cases, notably the half-filled band. For the cases treated here, we can exactly determine all broken and unbroken spatial and gauge symmetries of the Hamiltonian.Dedicated to Philippe Choquard on his 65th birthday.  相似文献

A scheme is proposed to simulate the Ising model and preserve the maximum entangled states (Bell states) in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) driven by a classical field with large detuning. In the strong driving and large-detuning regime, the effective Hamiltonian of the system is the same as the standard Ising model, and the scheme can also make the initial four Bell states of two atoms at the maximum entanglement all the time. So it is a simple memory for the maximal entangled states. The system is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field and more immune to decoherence. These advantages can warrant the experimental feasibility of the current scheme. Furthermore, the genuine four-atom entanglement may be acquired via two Bell states through one-step implementation on four two-level atoms in the strong-driven model, and when two Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states are prepared in our scheme, the entangled cluster state may be acquired easily. The success probability for the scheme is 1.
