In the non-Hermitian quantum physics, resonance trapping occurs due to width bifurcation in the regime of overlapping resonances. It causes dynamical phase transitions in many-level quantum systems. In the present contribution, three different examples, observed experimentally, are considered. In any case, resonance trapping breaks the symmetry characteristic of the system at low level density due to the alignment of a few states with the scattering states of the environment. 相似文献

We study a two-level atom in interaction with a real massless scalar quantum field in a spacetime with a reflecting boundary. We calculate the rate of change of the atomic energy for the atom. The presence of the boundary modifies the quantum fluctuations of the scalar field, which in turn modifies the rate of change of the atomic energy. It is found that the modifications induced by the presence of a boundary make the spontaneous radiation rate of an excited atom to oscillate near the boundary and this oscillatory behaviour may offer a possible opportunity for experimental tests for geometrical (boundary) effects in flat spacetime. 相似文献

A theory of excitation of a coherent population trapping resonance in hot alkali-metal atoms in a cell with buffer gas is constructed, taking into account the finite spectral width of two-component radiation, its vector properties, and the hyperfine and Zeeman structures of atoms. The propagation of intermode correlations in an optically dense gas cell is studied. It is found that in the case of partially correlated input modes, their correlation degree at the output can increase. This effect can be used for filtering the incoherent part of radiation. 相似文献

We quantify multiparticle quantum entanglement in a system of N two-level atoms interacting with a squeezed vacuum state of the electromagnetic field. We calculate the amount of quantum entanglement present among one hundred such two-level atoms and also show the variation of that entanglement with the radiation field parameter. We show the continuous variation of the amount of quantum entanglement as we continuously increase the number of atoms from N = 2 to N = 100. We also discuss that the multiparticle correlations among the N two-level atoms are made up of all possible bipartite correlations among the N atoms. 相似文献

A new variational approach is proposed to study the ground-state of a two-level system coupled to a dispersionless pbonon bath. By the extended coherent state, where the more phonon correlations are easily incorporated, we can obtain very accurate ground state energy and the tunnelling reduction factor in all regime of tunnelling matrix element δ0 and coupling parameter s. The relative difference between the present ones and those by exact numerical diagonalization is less then 0.001%. In addition, some simple analytical results are given in the limits of δ0/s → 0 and ∞. 相似文献

It is shown that direct electric current passing through a suspension of gyrotropic nanoparticles with residual magnetization (gyrotropic liquid metacrystal) forms a unidirectional waveguide for optical radiation so that trapped light can propagate only in the direction opposite to the direction of current. The localization of electromagnetic radiation is associated with the emergence of nonuniform gyrotropy of the medium as a result of reorientation of magnetic nanoparticles in the nonuniform magnetic field of the current. By way of examples, we consider the trapping of the radiation by a plane current sheet and by a cylindrical current-carrying filament. The dispersion equations of trapped modes are derived and analyzed. The analogy with topologically protected edge photon states is considered. 相似文献

The alteration of atomic absorption via quantum coherence is observed in the degenerate two-level atomic system. It is shown that when the detuning of coupling field equals to that of probe light, i.e. two-photon resonance, the reduction of atomic absorption via electromagnetically induced transparency occurs. However, when we tune the coupling field to two-photon off-resonance, the enhancement of absorption is obtained for the probe field. The influences of one-photon detuning and intensity of coupling field on absorption are also experimentally demonstrated. 相似文献

The system of metallic nanospheroids in the field of monochromatic light wave under conditions of manifestation of the Fano resonance is considered. The dimensions of the nanospheroids are much smaller than the wavelength of the incident radiation, but distances between them can be arbitrary. An analysis is made of the influence of the interparticle interaction and the reaction field on the inhomogeneity of the energy distribution of the collective oscillations of electrons in the system (the Fano resonance efficiency). It is shown that both the retardation and the reaction field contribute to an increase in the resonance efficiency. 相似文献

A key element in the architecture of quantum information processing is a reliable physical interface between fields and qubits. Here, we study the population transfer and entanglement for a two-level atomic system interacting with entangled spin coherent states (ESCSs) considering one- and two-mode interactions. The results show that decrease in the spin number provides a periodic behavior of the entanglement exhibiting the sudden death and birth phenomena. For large values of spin, the atom–field system stabilizes at high value of entanglement during the time evolution exhibiting maximum correlations for both cases of one- and two-mode interactions. Finally, we find an interesting correlation between the entanglement and the population transfer during the time evolution. In particular, we show that the population may be used as an indicator of nonlocal correlations in the system under consideration. 相似文献

We describe two new fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) compatible labels, their covalent linkage to oligonucleotides, and their use as donor and acceptor, respectively, in FRET hybridization studies. The dyes belong to the cyanine dyes, and water solubility is imparted by a phosphonate which represents a new solubilizing group in DNA labels. They were linked to amino-modified synthetic oligonucleotides via oxysuccinimide (OSI) esters. The studies performed include binding assays, determinations of molecular distances, homogeneous competitive assays, and limits of detection, which are in the order of 5 pmol/L for a 15-mer. 相似文献
