The adjoint representation inside the exterior algebra of a simple Lie algebra

For a simple complex Lie algebra g$\mathfrak{g}$ we study the space of invariants A=(?g^?⊗g^?)^g$A={(?{\mathfrak{g}}^{?}\otimes {\mathfrak{g}}^{?})}^{\mathfrak{g}}$, which describes the isotypic component of type g$\mathfrak{g}$ in ?g^?$?{\mathfrak{g}}^{?}$, as a module over the algebra of invariants (?g^?)^g${(?{\mathfrak{g}}^{?})}^{\mathfrak{g}}$. As main result we prove that A   is a free module, of rank twice the rank of g$\mathfrak{g}$, over the exterior algebra generated by all primitive invariants in (?g^?)^g${(?{\mathfrak{g}}^{?})}^{\mathfrak{g}}$, with the exception of the one of highest degree.     

Quantizations of Kac–Moody algebras

We analyze the extent to which a quantum universal enveloping algebra of a Kac–Moody algebra g$\mathfrak{g}$ is defined by multidegrees of its defining relations. To this end, we consider a class of character Hopf algebras defined by the same number of defining relations of the same degrees as the Kac–Moody algebra g$\mathfrak{g}$. We demonstrate that if the generalized Cartan matrix A$A$ of g$\mathfrak{g}$ is connected then the algebraic structure, up to a finite number of exceptional cases, is defined by just one “continuous” parameter q$q$ related to a symmetrization of A$A$, and one “discrete” parameter m$\mathfrak{m}$ related to the modular symmetrizations of A$A$. The Hopf algebra structure is defined by n(n−1)/2$n(n-1)/2$ additional “continuous” parameters. We also consider the exceptional cases for Cartan matrices of finite or affine types in more detail, establishing the number of exceptional parameter values in terms of the Fibonacci sequence.     

Integral bases for the universal enveloping algebras of map superalgebras

Let g$\mathfrak{g}$ be a finite dimensional complex simple classical Lie superalgebra and A   be a commutative, associative algebra with unity over C$\mathbb{C}$. In this paper we define an integral form for the universal enveloping algebra of the map superalgebra g⊗A$\mathfrak{g}\otimes A$, and exhibit an explicit integral basis for this integral form.     

Description of extended eigenvalues and extended eigenvectors of integration operators on the Wiener algebra

In the present paper we consider the Volterra integration operator V   on the Wiener algebra W(D)$W(\mathbb{D})$ of analytic functions on the unit disc D$\mathbb{D}$ of the complex plane C$\mathbb{C}$. A complex number λ$\lambda$ is called an extended eigenvalue of V if there exists a nonzero operator A   satisfying the equation AV=λVA$\mathit{AV}=\lambda \mathit{VA}$. We prove that the set of all extended eigenvalues of V   is precisely the set C?{0}$\mathbb{C}?\{0\}$, and describe in terms of Duhamel operators and composition operators the set of corresponding extended eigenvectors of V$V$. The similar result for some weighted shift operator on _?p${?}_p$ spaces is also obtained.     

Locally torsion-free quasi-coherent sheaves

Let X   be an arbitrary scheme. It is known that the category Qcoh(X)$\mathfrak{Qcoh}(X)$ of quasi-coherent sheaves admits arbitrary products. However its structure seems to be rather mysterious. In the present paper we will describe the structure of the product object of a family of locally torsion-free objects in Qcoh(X)$\mathfrak{Qcoh}(X)$, for X an integral scheme. Several applications are provided. For instance it is shown that the class of flat quasi-coherent sheaves on a Dedekind scheme X   is closed under arbitrary direct products, and that the class of all locally torsion-free quasi-coherent sheaves induces a hereditary torsion theory on Qcoh(X)$\mathfrak{Qcoh}(X)$. Finally torsion-free covers are shown to exist in Qcoh(X)$\mathfrak{Qcoh}(X)$.     

Laguerre functions on symmetric cones and recursion relations in the real case

In this article we derive differential recursion relations for the Laguerre functions on the cone Ω$\Omega$ of positive definite real matrices. The highest weight representations of the group Sp(n,R)$\mathrm{Sp}(n,\mathbb{R})$ play a fundamental role. Each such representation acts on a Hilbert space of holomorphic functions on the tube domain Ω+iSym(n,R)$\Omega +i\mathrm{Sym}(n,\mathbb{R})$. We then use the Laplace transform to carry the Lie algebra action over to L²(Ω,d_μν)$L^2(\Omega ,\mathrm{d}{\mu }_{\nu })$. The differential recursion relations result by restricting to a distinguished three-dimensional subalgebra, which is isomorphic to sl(2,R).$\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R}).$
