This study deals with control of the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of poly(vinyl acetate) by iodine‐transfer radical polymerization and reversible addition‐fragmentation transfer (RAFT) emulsion polymerizations as the first example. Emulsion polymerization using ethyl iodoacetate as the chain transfer agent more closely approximated the theoretical molecular weights than did the free radical polymerization. Although 1H NMR spectra indicated that the peaks of α‐ and ω‐terminal groups were observed, the molecular weight distributions show a relatively broad range (Mw/Mn = 2.2–4.0). On the other hand, RAFT polymerizations revealed that the dithiocarbamate 7 is an excellent candidate to control the polymer molecular weight (Mn = 9.1 × 103, Mw/Mn = 1.48), more so than xanthate 1 (Mn = 10.0 × 103, Mw/Mn = 1.89) under same condition, with accompanied stable emulsions produced. In the Mn versus conversion plot, Mn increased linearly as a function of conversion. We also performed seed‐emulsion polymerization using poly(nonamethylene L ‐tartrate) as the chiral polyester seed to fabricate emulsions with core‐shell structures. The control of polymer molecular weight and emulsion stability, as well as stereoregularity, is also discussed. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013 相似文献

Dendritic multifunctional macroinitiators having 12 TEMPO‐based alkoxyamines were prepared by the reaction of a benzyl alcohol having 4 TEMPO‐based alkoxyamines with 1,3,5‐tris[(4‐chlorocarbonyl)phenyl]benzene and 1,3,5‐tris(4‐isocyanatophenyl)benzene. Using the dodecafunctional macroinitiators, TEMPO‐mediated radical polymerizations of styrene (St) were carried out at 120 °C, and 12‐arm star polymers ( star‐12 ) with narrow polydispersities of Mw/Mn = 1.06–1.26 were obtained. To evaluate the livingness for the TEMPO‐mediated radical polymerizations of St, hydrolysis of the ester bonds of the 12‐arm star polymers and subsequent SEC measurements were carried out. Furthermore, using star‐12 as the macroinitiator, TEMPO‐mediated radical polymerization of 4‐vinylpyridine (4‐VP) was carried out, and well‐defined poly(St)‐b‐poly(4‐VP) 12‐arm star diblock copolymers with Mw/Mn = 1.18–1.19 were obtained. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three tetrafunctional bromoxanthate agents (Xanthate3‐Br, Xanthate2‐Br2, and Xanthate‐Br3) were synthesized. Initiative atom transfer radical polymerizations (ATRP) of styrene (St) or reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerizations of vinyl acetate (VAc) proceeded in a controlled manner in the presence of Xanthate3‐Br, Xanthate2‐Br2, or Xanthate‐Br3, respectively. The miktoarm star‐block copolymers containing polystyrene (PS) and poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) chains, PSn‐b‐PVAc4‐n (n = 1, 2, and 3), with controlled structures were successfully prepared by successive RAFT and ATRP chain‐extension experiments using VAc and St as the second monomers, respectively. The architecture of the miktoarm star‐block copolymers PSn‐b‐PVAc4‐n (n = 1, 2, and 3) were characterized by gel permeation chromatography and 1H NMR spectra. Furthermore, the results of the cleavage of PS3‐b‐PVAc and PVAc2‐b‐PS2 confirmed the structures of the obtained miktoarm star‐block copolymers. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Thermo‐responsive block copolymers based on poly(N‐vinylcaprolactam) (PNVCL) have been prepared by cobalt‐mediated radical polymerization (CMRP) for the first time. The homopolymerization of NVCL was controlled by bis(acetylacetonato)cobalt(II) and a molecular weight as high as 46,000 g/mol could be reached with a low polydispersity. The polymerization of NVCL was also initiated from a poly(vinyl acetate)‐Co(acac)2 (PVAc‐Co(acac)2) macroinitiator to yield well‐defined PVAc‐b‐PNVCL block copolymers with a low polydispersity (Mw/Mn = 1.1) up to high molecular weights (Mn = 87,000 g/mol), which constitutes a significant improvement over other techniques. The amphiphilic PVAc‐b‐PNVCL copolymers were hydrolyzed into unprecedented double hydrophilic poly(vinyl alcohol)‐b‐PNVCL (PVOH‐b‐PNVCL) copolymers and their temperature‐dependent solution behavior was studied by turbidimetry and dynamic light scattering. Finally, the so‐called cobalt‐mediated radical coupling (CMRC) reaction was implemented to PVAc‐b‐PNVCL‐Co(acac)2 precursors to yield novel PVAc‐b‐PNVCL‐b‐PVAc symmetrical triblock copolymers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. For the precision synthesis of primary amino functional polymers, cationic polymerization of a phthalimide‐containing vinyl ether monomer precursor, 2‐vinyloxyethyl phthalimide (PIVE), was examined using a base‐assisting initiating system. Living polymerization of PIVE in CH2Cl2 in the presence of 1,4‐dioxane as an added base yielded nearly monodispersed polymers (Mw/Mn < 1.1) and higher molecular weight polymers, which have never been obtained using other initiating systems. Furthermore, block copolymers with hydrophobic or hydrophilic groups could be prepared. The deprotection of the pendant phthalimide groups gave well‐defined pH‐responsive polymers with pendant primary amino groups. Dual‐stimuli–responsive block copolymers having a pH‐responsive polyamine segment and a thermosensitive segment self‐assembled in water in response to both pH and temperature. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of well‐defined three‐arm star poly(ε‐caprolactone)‐b‐poly(acrylic acid) copolymers having different block lengths were synthesized via the combination of ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First, three‐arm star poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) (Mn = 2490–7830 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.19–1.24) were synthesized via ROP of ε‐caprolactone (ε‐CL) using tris(2‐hydroxyethyl)cynuric acid as three‐arm initiator and stannous octoate (Sn(Oct)2) as a catalyst. Subsequently, the three‐arm macroinitiator transformed from such PCL in high conversion initiated ATRPs of tert‐butyl acrylate (tBuA) to construct three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PtBuA copolymers (Mn = 10,900–19,570 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.14–1.23). Finally, the three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PAA copolymer was obtained via the hydrolysis of the PtBuA segment in three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PtBuA copolymers. The chain structures of all the polymers were characterized by gel permeation chromatography, proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The aggregates of three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PAA copolymer were studied by the determination of critical micelles concentration and transmission electron microscope. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report here the synthesis of well‐defined homopolymer bearing amino acid diamide, poly(N‐acryloyl‐L ‐valine N′‐methylamide), via reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization using alkynyl‐functionalized 2‐dodecylsulfanylthiocarbonylsulfanyl‐2‐methyl‐propionic acid propargyl alcohol ester as chain transfer agent (CTA) and 2,2′‐azobis(isobutyronitrile) as initiator. The effects of a variety of parameters, such as temperature and solvent, on RAFT polymerization were examined to determine the optimal control of the polymerization. The controlled nature of RAFT polymerization was evidenced by the controllable molecular weight and low‐molecular‐weight polydispersity index (Mw/Mn) of resulting homopolymers and further demonstrated to have retained end‐group functionality by the fact of the successful formation of block copolymers from further RAFT polymerization by using the resultant polymer as macro‐CTA, as well as from “click” chemistry. Thermoresponsive property of the prepared polymer was evaluated in terms of the lower critical solution temperature in aqueous solution by measuring the transmittance variation at 500 nm from UV/vis spectroscopy. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Chain‐growth condensation polymerization of p‐aminobenzoic acid esters 1 bearing a tri(ethylene glycol) monomethyl ether side chain on the nitrogen atom was investigated by using lithium 1,1,1,3,3,3‐hexamethyldisilazide (LiHMDS) as a base. The methyl ester monomer 1a afforded polymer with low molecular weight and a broad molecular weight distribution, whereas the polymerization of the phenyl ester monomer 1b at ?20 °C yielded polymer with controlled molecular weight (Mn = 2800–13,400) and low polydispersity (Mw/Mn = 1.10–1.15). Block copolymerization of 1b and 4‐(octylamino)benzoic acid methyl ester ( 2 ) was further investigated. We found that block copolymer of poly 1b and poly 2 with defined molecular weight and low polydispersity was obtained when the polymerization of 1b was initiated with equimolar LiHMDS at ?20 °C and continued at ?50 °C, followed by addition of 2 and equimolar LiHMDS at ?10 °C. Spherical aggregates were formed when a solution of poly 1b in THF was dropped on a glass plate and dried at room temperature, although the block copolymer of poly 1b and poly 2 did not afford similar aggregates under the same conditions. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of poly(2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate‐ran‐9‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)‐9H‐carbazole) (poly(DMAEMA‐ran‐VBK)) random copolymers, with VBK molar feed compositions fVBK,0 = 0.02–0.09, were synthesized using 10 mol % [tert‐butyl[1‐(diethoxyphosphoryl)‐2,2‐dimethylpropyl]amino] nitroxide (SG1) relative to 2‐([tert‐butyl[1‐(diethoxyphosphoryl)‐2,2‐dimethylpropyl]amino]oxy)‐2‐methylpropionic acid (BlocBuilder) at 80 °C and 90 °C. Controlled polymerizations were observed, even with fVBK,0 = 0.02, as reflected by a linear increase in number average molecular weight (Mn) versus conversion X ≤ 0.6 with final copolymers characterized by relatively narrow, monomodal molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn ≈ 1.5). Poly(DMAEMA‐ran‐VBK) copolymers were deemed sufficiently pseudo‐“living” to reinitiate a second batch of N,N‐dimethylacrylamide (DMAA), with very few apparent dead chains, as indicated by the monomodal shift in the gel permeation chromatography chromatograms. Poly(DMAEMA‐ran‐VBK) random copolymers exhibited tuneable lower critical solution temperature (LCST), in aqueous solution, by modifying copolymer composition, solution pH and by the addition of the water‐soluble poly(DMAA) segment. 1H NMR analysis determined that, in water, the VBK units of the poly(DMAEMA‐ran‐VBK) random copolymer were segregated to the interior of the copolymer aggregate regardless of solution temperature and that poly(DMAEMA‐ran‐VBK)‐b‐poly(DMAA) block copolymers formed micelles above the LCST. In addition, the final random copolymer and block copolymer exhibited temperature dependent fluorescence due to the VBK units. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2011 相似文献

Well‐defined poly(vinyl acetate) macroinitiators, with the chains thus end‐capped by a cobalt complex, were synthesized by cobalt‐mediated radical polymerization and used to initiate styrene polymerization at 30 °C. Although the polymerization of the second block was not controlled, poly(vinyl acetate)‐b‐polystyrene copolymers were successfully prepared and converted into amphiphilic poly(vinyl alcohol)‐b‐polystyrene copolymers by the methanolysis of the ester functions of the poly(vinyl acetate) block. These poly(vinyl alcohol)‐b‐polystyrene copolymers self‐associated in water with the formation of nanocups, at least when the poly(vinyl alcohol) content was low enough. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Water‐soluble poly(ester‐carbonate) having pendent amino and carboxylic groups on the main‐chain carbon is reported for the first time. This article describes the melt ring‐opening/condensation reaction of trans‐4‐hydroxy‐N‐benzyloxycarbonyl‐L ‐proline (N‐CBz‐Hpr) with 5‐methyl‐5‐benzyloxycarbonyl‐1,3‐dioxan‐2‐one (MBC) at a wide range of molar fractions. The influence of reaction conditions such as catalyst concentration, polymerization time, and temperature on the number average molecular weight (Mn) and molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of the copolymers was investigated. The polymerizations were carried out in bulk at 110 °C with 3 wt % stannous octoate as a catalyst for 16 h. The poly(ester‐carbonate)s obtained were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR, differential scanning calorimetry, and gel permeation chromatography. The copolymers synthesized exhibited moderate molecular weights (Mn = 6000–14,700 g mol?1) with reasonable molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn = 1.11–2.23). The values of the glass‐transition temperature (Tg) of the copolymers depended on the molar fractions of cyclic carbonate. When the MBC content decreased from 76 to 12 mol %, the Tg increased from 16 to 48 °C. The relationship between the poly(N‐CBz‐Hpr‐co‐MBC) Tg and the compositions was in approximation with the Fox equation. In vitro degradation of these poly(N‐CBz‐Hpr‐co‐MBC)s was evaluated from weight‐loss measurements and the change of Mn and Mw/Mn. Debenzylation of 3 by catalytic hydrogenation led to the corresponding linear poly(ester‐carbonate), 4 , with pendent amino and carboxylic groups. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The first synthesis of asymmetric dendritic‐linear‐dendritic ABC block copolymers, that contain a linear B block and dissimilar A and C dendritic fragments is reported. Third generation poly(benzyl ether) monodendrons having benzyl alcohol moiety at their “focal” point were activated by quantitative titration with organometallic anions and the resulting alkoxides were used as initiators in the “living” ring‐opening polymerization of ethylene oxide. The reaction proceeded in controlled fashion at 40–50 °C affording linear‐dendritic AB block copolymers with predictable molecular weights (Mw = 6000–13,000) and narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn = 1.02–1.04). The propagation process was monitored by size‐exclusion chromatography with multiple detection. The resulting “living” copolymers were terminated by reaction either with HCl/tetrahydrofuran or with a reactive monodendron that differed from the initiating dendron not only in size, but also in chemical composition. The asymmetric triblock copolymers follow a peculiar structure‐induced self‐assembly pattern in block‐selective solvents as evidenced by size‐exclusion chromatography in combination with multi‐angle light scattering. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Syntheses and radical polymerizations of vinyl and isopropenyl carbamates having L -leucine methyl ester structures, N-vinyloxycarbonyl-L -leucine methyl ester (VOC-L-M) and N-isopropenyloxycarbonyl-L -leucine methyl ester (IOC-L-M), were carried out. VOC-L-M and IOC-L-M were prepared by the reactions of L -leucine methyl ester with vinyl and isopropenyl chloroformates in the presence of sodium hydrogen carbonate. The radical polymerization of VOC-L-M with AIBN (1 mol %) in bulk, chlorobenzene, methanol, and N,N-dimethylformamide afforded the corresponding polymer (poly(VOC-L-M)) with M n 7,400–19,000. Meanwhile, IOC-L-M afforded no polymer with AIBN at 60°C but afforded a polymer having low molecular weight with BPO at 80°C. The glass transition temperatures of poly(VOC-L-M) and poly(IOC-L-M) were 53 and 65°C, respectively. The 10% weight loss temperatures of poly(VOC-L-M) and poly(IOC-L-M) under nitrogen were 255 and 173, respectively. The copolymerization parameters of VOC-L-M (M1) and vinyl acetate (M2) were evaluated as r1 = 0.92 and r2 = 0.63. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

To synthesize polyesters and periodic copolymers catalyzed by nonafluorobutanesulfonimide (Nf2NH), we performed ring‐opening copolymerizations of cyclic anhydrides with tetrahydrofuran (THF) at 50–120 °C. At high temperature (100–120 °C), the cyclic anhydrides, such as succinic anhydride (SAn), glutaric anhydride (GAn), phthalic anhydride (PAn), maleic anhydride (MAn), and citraconic anhydride (CAn), copolymerized with THF via ring‐opening to produce polyesters (Mn = 0.8–6.8 × 103, Mn/Mw = 2.03–3.51). Ether units were temporarily formed during this copolymerization and subsequently, the ether units were transformed into esters by chain transfer reaction, thus giving the corresponding polyester. On the other hand, at low temperature (25–50 °C), ring‐opening copolymerizations of the cyclic anhydrides with THF produced poly(ester‐ether) (Mn = 3.4–12.1 × 103, Mw/Mn = 1.44–2.10). NMR and matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectra revealed that when toluene (4 M) was used as a solvent, GAn reacted with THF (unit ratio: 1:2) to produce periodic copolymers (Mn = 5.9 × 103, Mw/Mn = 2.10). We have also performed model reactions to delineate the mechanism by which periodic copolymers containing both ester and ether units were transformed into polyesters by raising the reaction temperature to 120 °C. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Atom transfer radical polymerization with activators generated by electron transfer initiating/catalytic system (AGET ATRP) of 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) was carried out in inverse miniemulsion. Water‐soluble ascorbic acid as a reducing agent and mono‐ and difunctional poly(ethylene oxide)‐based bromoisobutyrate (PEO‐Br) as a macroinitiator were used in the presence of CuBr2/tris[(2‐pyridyl)methyl]amine (TPMA) and CuCl2/TPMA complexes. The use of poly(ethylene‐co‐butylene)‐block‐poly(ethylene oxide) as a polymer surfactant resulted in the formation of stable HEMA cyclohexane inverse dispersion and PHEMA colloidal particles. All polymerizations were well‐controlled, allowing for the preparation of well‐defined PEO‐PHEMA and PHEMA‐PEO‐PHEMA block copolymers with relatively high molecular weight (DP > 200) and narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn < 1.3). These block copolymers self‐assembled to form micellar nanoparticles being 10–20 nm in diameter with uniform size distribution, and aggregation number of ~10 confirmed by atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A cyclic selenium‐based reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent, 5,5‐dimethyl‐3‐phenyl‐2‐selenoxo‐1,3‐selenazolidin‐4‐one (RAFT‐Se), was synthesized and utilized in the RAFT polymerizations of vinyl acetate (VAc). Its analog, 5,5‐dimethyl‐3‐phenyl‐2‐thioxothiazolidin‐4‐one (RAFT‐S), was also used in RAFT polymerizations for comparison under identical conditions. The RAFT polymerizations of VAc with RAFT‐Se were moderately controlled evidenced by the increase of molecular weights with conversion, despite the slightly high Mw/Mn (less than 1.90), whereas the molecular weights were poorly controlled in the presence of RAFT‐S (2.00 < Mw/Mn < 2.30). Thanks to its unusual cyclic structure of RAFT‐Se, one or more RAFT‐Se species was incorporated into the resultant poly(VAc) as revealed by the results of cleavage of polymer and atomic absorption spectroscopy. Considering the biorelated functions of both poly(VAc) and Se element, this work undoubtedly provided a successful methodology of how to incorporate high content of Se into a molecular weight controlled poly(VAc). © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The single‐electron transfer living radical polymerization (SET‐LRP) of vinyl chloride (VC) initiated with CHBr3 in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) at 25 °C was investigated using Cu(0) powder and Cu(0) wire as the catalyst. It was determined that living kinetics and high conversion are achieved only through the proper calibration of the ratio between Cu(0) and TREN and the concentration of VC in DMSO. For both Cu(0) powder and Cu(0) wire, optimum conversion was achieved with higher levels of TREN than reported in earlier preliminary reports and under more dilute conditions. Using these conditions, 85+% conversion of VC could be achieved with Cu(0) powder and wire to produce white poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) with Mn = 20,000 and Mw/Mn = 1.4–1.6 in 360 min. The use of Cu(0) wire provides the most effective catalytic system for the LRP of PVC allowing for simple removal and recycling of the catalyst. In the Cu(0) wire‐catalyzed SET‐LRP of VC, the consumption of Cu(0) was monitored as a function of conversion. From these studies, it is evident that the catalyst can be recycled extensively before significant exchange of Cu(0) into Cu(II)X2 and change in catalyst surface area is observed. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Copper(I)‐mediated living radical polymerization was used to synthesize amphiphilic block copolymers of poly(n‐butyl methacrylate) [P(n‐BMA)] and poly[(2‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] (PDMAEMA). Functionalized bromo P(n‐BMA) macroinitiators were prepared from monofunctional, difunctional, and trifunctional initiators: 2‐bromo‐2‐methylpropionic acid 4‐methoxyphenyl ester, 1,4‐(2′‐bromo‐2′‐methyl‐propionate)benzene, and 1,3,5‐(2′‐bromo‐2′‐methylpropionato)benzene. The living nature of the polymerizations involved was investigated in each case, leading to narrow‐polydispersity polymers for which the number‐average molecular weight increased fairly linearly with time with good first‐order kinetics in the monomer. These macroinitiators were subsequently used for the polymerization of (2‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate to obtain well‐defined [P(n‐BMA)x‐b‐PDMAEMAy]z diblock (15,900; polydispersity index = 1.60), triblock (23,200; polydispersity index = 1.24), and star block copolymers (50,700; polydispersity index = 1.46). Amphiphilic block copolymers contained between 60 and 80 mol % hydrophilic PDMAEMA blocks to solubilize them in water. The polymers were quaternized with methyl iodide to render them even more hydrophilic. The aggregation behavior of these copolymers was investigated with fluorescence spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering. For blocks of similar comonomer compositions, the apparent critical aggregation concentration (cac = 3.22–7.13 × 10?3 g L?1) and the aggregate size (ca. 65 nm) were both dependent on the copolymer architecture. However, for the same copolymer structure, increasing the hydrophilic PDMAEMA block length had little effect on the cac but resulted in a change in the aggregate size. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A commercially available tris(3,6‐dioxaheptyl)amine (TDA‐1) was used as a novel ligand for activator generated by electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerization (AGET ATRP) of styrene in bulk or solution mediated by iron(III) catalyst in the presence of a limited amount of air. FeCl3 · 6H2O and (1‐bromoethyl)benzene (PEBr) were used as the catalyst and initiator, respectively; and environmentally benign ascorbic acid (VC) was used as the reducing agent. The polymerizations show the features of “living”/controlled free‐radical polymerizations and well‐defined polystyrenes with molecular weight Mn = 2400–36,500 g/mol and narrow polydispersity (Mw/Mn = 1.11–1.29) were obtained. Two functional monomers, methacrylic acid 4‐(2‐benzoxazol)‐benzyl ester (MABE) containing the benzoxazole group and 4‐(2‐(9‐anthryl))‐vinyl‐styrene (AVS) containing the anthracene group were synthesized by rational design. The MABE was polymerized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using ethyl 2‐bromoisobutyrate (EBIB) as initiator in CuBr/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine (PMDETA) catalyst system; block copolymers poly(MABE‐b‐AVS) was obtained, which was conducted by using poly(MABE) as macro‐initiator, AVS as the second monomer, and CuBr/PMDETA as catalyst. The constitute of two monomers in block copolymers poly(MABE‐b‐AVS) by ATRP could be adjusted, that is the constitute of the benzoxazole group and the anthracene group could be controlled in AB‐type block copolymers. Moreover, the fluorescent properties of homopolymers poly(MABE) and block copolymers poly(MABE‐b‐AVS) were discussed herein. With the excitation at λex = 330 nm, the fluorescent emission spectrum of poly(MABE) solution showed emission at 375 nm corresponding to the benzoxazole‐based part; with the same excitation, the fluorescent emission spectrum of poly(MABE‐b‐AVS) solution showed a broad peek at 330–600 nm when the monomer AVS to the total monomers mole ratio was 0.31, and the fluorescent emission spectrum of poly(MABE‐b‐AVS) in film state only showed one peak at 525 nm corresponding to the anthracene‐based unit that indicated a complete energy transfer from the benzoxazole group to the anthracene group. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
