We characterize finite codimensional linear isometries on two spaces, C (n)[0; 1] and Lip [0; 1], where C (n)[0; 1] is the Banach space of n-times continuously differentiable functions on [0; 1] and Lip [0; 1] is the Banach space of Lipschitz continuous functions on [0; 1]. We will see they are exactly surjective isometries. Also, we show that C (n)[0; 1] and Lip [0; 1] admit neither isometric shifts nor backward shifts.  相似文献

A general theory of regularized and Hilbert-Carleman determinants in normed algebras of operators acting in Banach spaces is proposed. In this approach regularized determinants are defined as continuous extensions of the corresponding determinants of finite dimensional operators. We characterize the algebras for which such extensions exist, describe the main properties of the extended determinants, obtain Cramer's rule and the formulas for the resolvent which are expressed via the extended tracestr(A k ) of iterations and regularized determinants. This paper is a continuation of the paper [GGKr].  相似文献

The present paper gives a converse result by showing that there exists a functionfC [−1,1], which satisfies that sgn(x)f(x) ≥ 0 forx ∈ [−1, 1], such that {fx75-1} whereE n (0) (f, 1) is the best approximation of degreen tof by polynomials which are copositive with it, that is, polynomialsP withP(x(f(x) ≥ 0 for allx ∈ [−1, 1],E n(f) is the ordinary best polynomial approximation off of degreen.  相似文献

For C a bounded, injective operator with dense image, we define a C-regularized spectral distribution. This produces a functional calculus, f f(B), from C() into the space of closed densely defined operators, such that f(B)C is bounded when f has compact support. As an analogue of Stone's theorem, we characterize certain regularized spectral distributions as corresponding to generators of polynomially bounded C-regularized groups. We represent the regularized spectral distribution in terms of the regularized group and in terms of the C-resolvent. Applications include the Schrödinger equation with potential, and symmetric hyperbolic systems, all on Lp(n) (1p<), C o(n), BUC(n), or any space of functions where translation is a bounded strongly continuous group.  相似文献

Korovkin-type theorem and application   总被引:9,自引:1,他引:8
Let (Ln) be a sequence of positive linear operators on C[0,1], satisfying that (Ln(ei)) converge in C[0,1] (not necessarily to ei) for i=0,1,2, where ei(x)=xi. We prove that the conditions that (Ln) is monotonicity-preserving, convexity-preserving and variation diminishing do not suffice to insure the convergence of (Ln(f)) for all fC[0,1]. We obtain the Korovkin-type theorem and give quantitative results for the approximation properties of the q-Bernstein operators Bn,q as an application.  相似文献

Applications of locally fine property for operators are further developed. LetE andF be Banach spaces andF:U(x 0)⊂EF be C1 nonlinear map, whereU (x 0) is an open set containing pointx 0E. With the locally fine property for Frechet derivativesf′(x) and generalized rank theorem forf′(x), a local conjugacy theorem, i. e. a characteristic condition forf being conjugate tof′(x 0) near x0,is proved. This theorem gives a complete answer to the local conjugacy problem. Consequently, several rank theorems in advanced calculus are established, including a theorem for C1 Fredholm map which has been so far unknown. Also with this property the concept of regular value is extended, which gives rise to a generalized principle for constructing Banach submanifolds.  相似文献

Let B(X) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on the Banach space X, and let N(X) be the set of nilpotent operators in B(X). Suppose ?:B(X)→B(X) is a surjective map such that A,BB(X) satisfy ABN(X) if and only if ?(A)?(B)∈N(X). If X is infinite dimensional, then there exists a map f:B(X)→C?{0} such that one of the following holds:

There is a bijective bounded linear or conjugate-linear operator S:XX such that ? has the form A?S[f(A)A]S-1.

The space X is reflexive, and there exists a bijective bounded linear or conjugate-linear operator S : X′ → X such that ? has the form A ? S[f(A)A′]S−1.
If X has dimension n with 3 ? n < ∞, and B(X) is identified with the algebra Mn of n × n complex matrices, then there exist a map f:MnC?{0}, a field automorphism ξ:CC, and an invertible S ∈ Mn such that ? has one of the following forms:

In this paper, applying the theory of semigroups of operators to evolution families and Banach fixed point theorem, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the weighted pseudo almost periodic mild solution of the semilinear evolution equation x(t)=A(t)x(t)+f(t,x(t)) with nonlocal conditions x(0)=x0+g(x) in Banach space X under some suitable hypotheses.  相似文献

The main result of the paper characterizes continuous bilinear maps from C1[0,1]×C1[0,1] into a Banach space X with the property that (f,g)=0 whenever fg=0. This is applied to the study of zero product preserving operators on C1[0,1], and operators on C1[0,1] satisfying a version of the condition of the locality of an operator.  相似文献

Using Bre?ar and ?emrl approach, we give a proof of the extended Jacobson density theorem for Φ-derivations. Further, some applications on Banach algebras will be given. Precisely, for d being a continuous Φ-derivation on a given Banach algebra ?, we show that: d(?) ? rad (?) ? [b,[a, d(a)]] ∈ rad (?) for all a, b ∈ ? and d leaves invariant all maximal ideals of codimension one?for every a ∈ ? there exists a positive integer n such that (d(a)) n is quasi-nilpotent ? [d, Φ](?) ? rad (?) and d 2(a) ∈ rad (?) for all a ∈ ?. Finally, we characterize all pairs d, δ of continuous Φ-derivations such that dδ(a) is quasi-nilpotent for all a ∈ ? and [d, δ](?), [d, Φ](?), [δ,Φ](?) are subsets of rad (?).  相似文献

Let X and Y be Banach spaces. We say that a set (the space of all weakly compact operators from X into Y) is weakly equicompact if, for every bounded sequence (xn) in X, there exists a subsequence (xk(n)) so that (Txk(n)) is weakly uniformly convergent for TM. We study some properties of weakly equicompact sets and, among other results, we prove: 1) if is collectively weakly compact, then M* is weakly equicompact iff M** x**={T** x** : TM} is relatively compact in Y for every x**X**; 2) weakly equicompact sets are precompact in for the topology of uniform convergence on the weakly null sequences in X. We are concerned in this paper with the existence of mild solutions to the Cauchy Problem for the fractional differential equation with nonlocal conditions: D q x(t)=Ax(t)+t n f(t,x(t),Bx(t)), t∈[0,T], n∈ℤ+, x(0)+g(x)=x 0, where 0<q<1, A is the infinitesimal generator of a C 0-semigroup of bounded linear operators on a Banach space X.  相似文献

Equivalences between the condition |P n (k) (x)|≦K(n −1√1−x 2+1/n 2) k n -a, whereP n(x) is the bestn-th degree polynomial approximation tof(x), and the Peetre interpolation space betweenC[−1,1] and the space (1−x 2) k f (2k)(x)∈C[−1,1] is established. A similar result is shown forE n(f)= ‖fP n C[−1,1]. Rates other thann -a are also discussed. Supported by NSERC grant A4816 of Canada.  相似文献

In the present article we are concerned with a class of degenerate second order differential operators LA,b defined on the cube d[0,1], with d?1. Under suitable assumptions on the coefficients A and b (among them the assumption of their Hölder regularity) we show that the operator LA,b defined on C2(d[0,1]) is closable and its closure is m-dissipative. In particular, its closure is the generator of a C0-semigroup of contractions on C(d[0,1]) and C2(d[0,1]) is a core for it. The proof of such result is obtained by studying the solvability in Hölder spaces of functions of the elliptic problem λu(x)−LA,bu(x)=f(x), xd[0,1], for a sufficiently large class of functions f.  相似文献

Topological Hochschild homology is calculated for the rings /p[x]/(f(x)) (where p is prime and f(x) /p[x] any polynomial), [x]/(x n) and [x]/(x n–1). A spectral sequence argument is used for calculating the homology of the topological Hochschild homology spectrum, from which its stable homotopy structure can be read off since the spectrum is known for a priori reasons to be a restricted product of Eilenberg-MacLane spectra.  相似文献

A Banach space operator T is polaroid and satisfies Weyl’s theorem if and only if T is Kato type at points λ ∈ iso σ(T) and has SVEP at points λ not in the Weyl spectrum of T. For such operators T, f(T) satisfies Weyl’s theorem for every non-constant function f analytic on a neighborhood of σ(T) if and only if f(T) satisfies Weyl’s theorem.  相似文献

A pair of commuting operators, (A,B), on a Hilbert space is said to be hypercyclic if there exists a vector such that {A n B k x : n, k ≥ 0} is dense in . If f, gH (G) where G is an open set with finitely many components in the complex plane, then we show that the pair (M * f , M * g ) of adjoints of multiplcation operators on a Hilbert space of analytic functions on G is hypercyclic if and only if the semigroup they generate contains a hypercyclic operator. However, if G has infinitely many components, then we show that there exists f, gH (G) such that the pair (M * f , M * g ) is hypercyclic but the semigroup they generate does not contain a hypercyclic operator. We also consider hypercyclic n-tuples.  相似文献

A general theory of tracestr D A and determinantsdet D (I+A) in normed algebrasD of operators acting in Banach spacesB is proposed. In this approach trace and determinant are defined as continuous extensions of the corresponding functionals from finite dimensional operators. We characterize the algebras for which such extensions exist and describe sets of possible values of traces and determinants for the same operator in different algebras. In spite of the fact that the extended traces and determinants may differ in different algebrasD, operatorI+A (withA D) is invertible inB if and only ifdet D (I+A) does not vanish. Cramer's rule and formulas for the resolvent are obtained and they are expressed in different algebras by the same formulas viadet D (I+A) andtr D (A). A large set of examples and illustrations are also presented.  相似文献
