Polarographic analysis. I

Summary Reduction of Cu^II in 0.5 M NaOH containing triethanolamine proceeds irreversibly. A similar behaviour is observed in acetate buffer of p_H 6. A reversible wave is obtained in (NH₄)₂CO₃ containing EDTA. The diffusion current measured at the proper voltage is proportional to the Cu^II concentration within a wide range. The waves in 0.5 M NaOH are not well developed being better in acetate buffer and in the presence of EDTA. Ammoniacal solutions containing EDTA can be utilised for the simultaneous estimation of Fe^III and Cu^II. A mixture of Fe^III, Cu^II and U^VI can be fairly well analysed in a medium of (NH₄)₂CO₃ containing EDTA.     

Polarographic half-wave potentials of metal ions in various supporting electrolytes. I

Data on the polarographic half-wave potentials, wave characteristics, probable reduction products and other polarographically important information are tabulated for 28 metal ions in 9 supporting electrolytes containing hydrazine, pyridine, sodium hydroxide, potassium thiocyanate, and pyrophosphate.

巯基乙酰萘胺(简称巯萘剂)在碱性(pH11.6)介质中,于-0.72V(对SCE)处有一灵敏、对称示波极谱(导数)波。用各种极谱、伏安技术及紫外吸收光谱等手段,详细研究了巯萘剂的极谱行为,伏安特性。文中求算了电子转移数(n)、电极表面吸附量(Γ*),探讨了电极反应机理。     

Metal complexes with chloramphenicol: Part I. Polarographic investigation of copper-chloramphenicol complexes

Polarographic investigations of copper-chloramphenicol (Hf) complex were performed in 1 M NaCl which was used as the supporting electrolyte, at pH values from 11 to 13. Amperometric titration method was used to determine the composition of the complex compound. The molar ratio Cu to Hf varies with pH value of solution but not with relative KOH to Hf ratio. At pH values 12–12.5 amperometric curves indicate formation of complex compound with Cu to Hf molar ratio equal 1:2. It was found that a two-electron irreversible process takes place on the DME. The value of diffusion coefficient of the reducible species D=9.25×10^?7 cm² s^?2 was found.
