We study cyclicity of operators on a separable Banach space which admit a bicyclic vector such that the norms of its images under the iterates of the operator satisfy certain growth conditions. A simple consequence of our main result is that a bicyclic unitary operator on a Banach space with separable dual is cyclic. Our results also imply that if is the shift operator acting on the weighted space of sequences , if the weight ω satisfies some regularity conditions and ω(n) = 1 for nonnegative n, then S is cyclic if . On the other hand one can see that S is not cyclic if the series diverges. We show that the question of Herrero whether either S or S* is cyclic on admits a positive answer when the series is convergent. We also prove completeness results for translates in certain Banach spaces of functions on .  相似文献

Let f(X) be a polynomial in n variables over the finite field  \mathbbFq\mathbb{F}_{q}. Its Newton polytope Δ(f) is the convex closure in ℝ n of the origin and the exponent vectors (viewed as points in ℝ n ) of monomials in f(X). The minimal dilation of Δ(f) such that it contains at least one lattice point of $\mathbb{Z}_{>0}^{n}$\mathbb{Z}_{>0}^{n} plays a vital pole in the p-adic estimate of the number of zeros of f(X) in  \mathbbFq\mathbb{F}_{q}. Using this fact, we obtain several tight and computational bounds for the dilation which unify and improve a number of previous results in this direction.  相似文献

Let ${\Gamma < {\rm SL}(2, {\mathbb Z})}Let G < SL(2, \mathbb Z){\Gamma < {\rm SL}(2, {\mathbb Z})} be a free, finitely generated Fuchsian group of the second kind with no parabolics, and fix two primitive vectors v0, w0 ? \mathbb Z2  \  {0}{v_{0}, w_{0} \in \mathbb {Z}^{2} \, {\backslash} \, \{0\}}. We consider the set S{\mathcal {S}} of all integers occurring in áv0g, w0?{\langle v_{0}\gamma, w_{0}\rangle}, for g ? G{\gamma \in \Gamma} and the usual inner product on \mathbb R2{\mathbb {R}^2}. Assume that the critical exponent δ of Γ exceeds 0.99995, so that Γ is thin but not too thin. Using a variant of the circle method, new bilinear forms estimates and Gamburd’s 5/6-th spectral gap in infinite-volume, we show that S{\mathcal {S}} contains almost all of its admissible primes, that is, those not excluded by local (congruence) obstructions. Moreover, we show that the exceptional set \mathfrak E(N){\mathfrak {E}(N)} of integers |n| < N which are locally admissible (n ? S   (mod  q)   for all   q 3 1){(n \in \mathcal {S} \, \, ({\rm mod} \, q) \, \, {\rm for\,all} \,\, q \geq 1)} but fail to be globally represented, n ? The motivation for this paper comes from the Halperin–Carlsson conjecture for (real) moment-angle complexes. We first give an algebraic combinatorics formula for the M?bius transform of an abstract simplicial complex K on [m]={1,…,m} in terms of the Betti numbers of the Stanley–Reisner face ring k(K) of K over a field k. We then employ a way of compressing K to provide the lower bound on the sum of those Betti numbers using our formula. Next we consider a class of generalized moment-angle complexes ZK(\mathbb D, \mathbb S)\mathcal{Z}_{K}^{(\underline{\mathbb{ D}}, \underline{\mathbb{ S}})}, including the moment-angle complex ZK\mathcal{Z}_{K} and the real moment-angle complex \mathbbRZK\mathbb{R}\mathcal {Z}_{K} as special examples. We show that H*(ZK(\mathbb D, \mathbb S);k)H^{*}(\mathcal{Z}_{K}^{(\underline{\mathbb{ D}}, \underline{\mathbb{ S}})};\mathbf{k}) has the same graded k-module structure as Tor  k[v](k(K),k). Finally we show that the Halperin–Carlsson conjecture holds for ZK\mathcal{Z}_{K} (resp. \mathbb RZK\mathbb{ R}\mathcal{Z}_{K}) under the restriction of the natural T m -action on ZK\mathcal{Z}_{K} (resp. (ℤ2) m -action on \mathbb RZK\mathbb{ R}\mathcal{Z}_{K}).  相似文献

We study hypersurfaces in the Lorentz-Minkowski space \mathbbLn+1{\mathbb{L}^{n+1}} whose position vector ψ satisfies the condition L k ψ = + b, where L k is the linearized operator of the (k + 1)th mean curvature of the hypersurface for a fixed k = 0, . . . , n − 1, A ? \mathbbR(n+1)×(n+1){A\in\mathbb{R}^{(n+1)\times(n+1)}} is a constant matrix and b ? \mathbbLn+1{b\in\mathbb{L}^{n+1}} is a constant vector. For every k, we prove that the only hypersurfaces satisfying that condition are hypersurfaces with zero (k + 1)th mean curvature, open pieces of totally umbilical hypersurfaces \mathbbSn1(r){\mathbb{S}^n_1(r)} or \mathbbHn(-r){\mathbb{H}^n(-r)}, and open pieces of generalized cylinders \mathbbSm1(r)×\mathbbRn-m{\mathbb{S}^m_1(r)\times\mathbb{R}^{n-m}}, \mathbbHm(-r)×\mathbbRn-m{\mathbb{H}^m(-r)\times\mathbb{R}^{n-m}}, with k + 1 ≤ m ≤ n − 1, or \mathbbLm×\mathbbSn-m(r){\mathbb{L}^m\times\mathbb{S}^{n-m}(r)}, with k + 1 ≤ nm ≤ n − 1. This completely extends to the Lorentz-Minkowski space a previous classification for hypersurfaces in \mathbbRn+1{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}} given by Alías and Gürbüz (Geom. Dedicata 121:113–127, 2006).  相似文献

Consider a domain , and two analytic matrix-valued functions functions . Consider also points and positive integers n 1, n 2, . . . , n N . We are interested in the existence of an analytic function such that X(ω) is invertible, and G(ω) coincides with X(ω)F(ω)X(ω)−1 up to order n j at the point ω j . We will see that such a function exists provided that F j ),G j ) have cyclic vectors, and the characteristic polynomials of F,G coincide up to order n j at ω j . This allows one to give a short proof to a result of Huang, Marcantognini and Young concerning spectral interpolation in the unit disk. In this paper we continue to study the spectral norms and their completions ([4]) in the case of the algebraic closure $ \overline {\mathbb Q} $ of ? in ?. Let $ \widetilde{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}} $ be the completion of $ \overline {\mathbb Q} $ relative to the spectral norm. We prove that $ \widetilde{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}} $ can be identified with the R‐subalgebra of all symmetric functions of C(G), where C(G) denotes the ?‐Banach algebra of all continuous functions defined on the absolute Galois group G = Gal$ {\overline {\mathbb Q}} / {\mathbb Q} $. We prove that any compact, closed to conjugation subset of ? is the pseudo‐orbit of a suitable element of $ \widetilde{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}} $. We also prove that the topological closure of any algebraic number field in $ \widetilde{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}} $ is of the form $\widetilde{\mathbb{Q}[x]}$ with x in $ \widetilde{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}} $.  相似文献

If $f\in L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{d})$ is a bounded real valued continuous function which has a unique maximum or a unique minimum at a point $x_{0}\in \mathbb{R}^{d}$ and if the inverse image of the neighborhoods of f(x 0) shrinks regularly to x 0, then $\mathrm{ span }\{f^{m}(x-2^{-m}\varSigma_{i=1}^{d} j_{i} e_{i})\mid m\in\mathbb{N}, j_{i}\in\mathbb{Z}\}$ is a dense subset of $L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{d}), 1\le p<\infty$ where f m (x)=f(x) m and {e i } is the natural basis of $\mathbb{R}^{d}$ . The result extends to all homogeneous groups, Riemannian symmetric spaces of noncompact type, Damek-Ricci spaces etc.  相似文献

An integral coefficient matrix determines an integral arrangement of hyperplanes in \mathbbRm{\mathbb{R}^m} . After modulo q reduction ${(q \in {\mathbb{Z}_{ >0 }})}${(q \in {\mathbb{Z}_{ >0 }})} , the same matrix determines an arrangement Aq{\mathcal{A}_q} of “hyperplanes” in \mathbbZmq{\mathbb{Z}^m_q} . In the special case of central arrangements, Kamiya, Takemura, and Terao [J. Algebraic Combin. 27(3), 317–330 (2008)] showed that the cardinality of the complement of Aq{\mathcal{A}_q} in \mathbbZmq{\mathbb{Z}^m_q} is a quasi-polynomial in ${q \in {\mathbb{Z}_{ >0 }}}${q \in {\mathbb{Z}_{ >0 }}} . Moreover, they proved in the central case that the intersection lattice of Aq{\mathcal{A}_q} is periodic from some q on. The present paper generalizes these results to the case of non-central arrangements. The paper also studies the arrangement [^(B)]m[0,a]{\hat{\mathcal{B}}_m^{[0,a]}} of Athanasiadis [J. Algebraic Combin. 10(3), 207–225 (1999)] to illustrate our results.  相似文献

This paper investigates the s-energy of (finite and infinite) well separated sequences of spherical designs on the unit sphere S 2. A spherical n-design is a point set on S 2 that gives rise to an equal weight cubature rule which is exact for all spherical polynomials of degree ≤n. The s-energy E s (X) of a point set of m distinct points is the sum of the potential for all pairs of distinct points . A sequence Ξ = {X m } of point sets X m S 2, where X m has the cardinality card(X m )=m, is well separated if for each pair of distinct points , where the constant λ is independent of m and X m . For all s>0, we derive upper bounds in terms of orders of n and m(n) of the s-energy E s (X m(n)) for well separated sequences Ξ = {X m(n)} of spherical n-designs X m(n) with card(X m(n))=m(n).   相似文献

We study the spectrum σ(M) of the multipliers M which commute with the translations on weighted spaces ${L_{\omega}^{2}(\mathbb{R})}We study the spectrum σ(M) of the multipliers M which commute with the translations on weighted spaces Lw2(\mathbbR){L_{\omega}^{2}(\mathbb{R})} For operators M in the algebra generated by the convolutions with f ? Cc(\mathbb R){\phi \in {C_c(\mathbb {R})}} we show that [`(m(W))] = s(M){\overline{\mu(\Omega)} = \sigma(M)}, where the set Ω is determined by the spectrum of the shift S and μ is the symbol of M. For the general multipliers M we establish that [`(m(W))]{\overline{\mu(\Omega)}} is included in σ(M). A generalization of these results is given for the weighted spaces L2w(\mathbb Rk){L^2_{\omega}(\mathbb {R}^{k})} where the weight ω has a special form.  相似文献

Let Q(u,v)=|u+vz|2 be a positive-definite quadratic form with a complex parameter z=x+iy in the upper-half plane. The Epstein zeta-function attached to Q is initially defined by for Re s>1, where the term with m=n=0 is to be omitted. We deduce complete asymptotic expansions of as y→+∞ (Theorem 1 in Sect. 2), and of its weighted mean value (with respect to y) in the form of a Laplace-Mellin transform of (Theorem 2 in Sect. 2). Prior to the proofs of these asymptotic expansions, the meromorphic continuation of over the whole s-plane is prepared by means of Mellin-Barnes integral transformations (Proposition 1 in Sect. 3). This procedure, differs slightly from other previously known methods of the analytic continuation, gives a new alternative proof of the Fourier expansion of (Proposition 2 in Sect. 3). The use of Mellin-Barnes type of integral formulae is crucial in all aspects of the proofs; several transformation properties of hypergeometric functions are especially applied with manipulation of these integrals. We give some new examples of bounded multilinear forms on the Hilbert spaces ℓ2 and L2 (0, ∞). We characterize those which are compact or Hilbert-Schmidt. In particular, we study m-linear forms (m ≥ 3) on ℓ2 which can be regarded as the multilinear analogue of the famous Hilbert matrix. We also determine the norm of the permanent on where   相似文献

We consider the space A(\mathbbT)A(\mathbb{T}) of all continuous functions f on the circle \mathbbT\mathbb{T} such that the sequence of Fourier coefficients [^(f)] = { [^(f)]( k ), k ? \mathbbZ }\hat f = \left\{ {\hat f\left( k \right), k \in \mathbb{Z}} \right\} belongs to l 1(ℤ). The norm on A(\mathbbT)A(\mathbb{T}) is defined by || f ||A(\mathbbT) = || [^(f)] ||l1 (\mathbbZ)\left\| f \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = \left\| {\hat f} \right\|_{l^1 (\mathbb{Z})}. According to the well-known Beurling-Helson theorem, if f:\mathbbT ? \mathbbT\phi :\mathbb{T} \to \mathbb{T} is a continuous mapping such that || einf ||A(\mathbbT) = O(1)\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = O(1), n ∈ ℤ then φ is linear. It was conjectured by Kahane that the same conclusion about φ is true under the assumption that || einf ||A(\mathbbT) = o( log| n | )\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = o\left( {\log \left| n \right|} \right). We show that if $\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = o\left( {\left( {{{\log \log \left| n \right|} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\log \log \left| n \right|} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right)^{1/12} } \right)$\left\| {e^{in\phi } } \right\|_{A(\mathbb{T})} = o\left( {\left( {{{\log \log \left| n \right|} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\log \log \left| n \right|} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\log \log \log \left| n \right|}}} \right)^{1/12} } \right), then φ is linear.  相似文献

We define a generalized Li coefficient for the L-functions attached to the Rankin–Selberg convolution of two cuspidal unitary automorphic representations π and π of GLm(\mathbbAF)GL_{m}(\mathbb{A}_{F}) and GLm(\mathbbAF)GL_{m^{\prime }}(\mathbb{A}_{F}) . Using the explicit formula, we obtain an arithmetic representation of the n th Li coefficient lp,p(n)\lambda _{\pi ,\pi ^{\prime }}(n) attached to L(s,pf×[(p)\tilde]f)L(s,\pi _{f}\times \widetilde{\pi}_{f}^{\prime }) . Then, we deduce a full asymptotic expansion of the archimedean contribution to lp,p(n)\lambda _{\pi ,\pi ^{\prime }}(n) and investigate the contribution of the finite (non-archimedean) term. Under the generalized Riemann hypothesis (GRH) on non-trivial zeros of L(s,pf×[(p)\tilde]f)L(s,\pi _{f}\times \widetilde{\pi}_{f}^{\prime }) , the nth Li coefficient lp,p(n)\lambda _{\pi ,\pi ^{\prime }}(n) is evaluated in a different way and it is shown that GRH implies the bound towards a generalized Ramanujan conjecture for the archimedean Langlands parameters μ π (v,j) of π. Namely, we prove that under GRH for L(s,pf×[(p)\tilde]f)L(s,\pi _{f}\times \widetilde{\pi}_{f}) one has |Remp(v,j)| £ \frac14|\mathop {\mathrm {Re}}\mu_{\pi}(v,j)|\leq \frac{1}{4} for all archimedean places v at which π is unramified and all j=1,…,m.  相似文献
