In this article, the propagation of torsional surface wave in an anisotropic poroelastic layer of finite thickness sandwiched between two heterogeneous dry sandy media is investigated. The first uppermost dry sandy medium is considered as a layer of finite thickness and the second one is considered as a lower half-space. The heterogeneities in both dry sandy media are assumed to arise due to quadratic variations in elastic moduli and mass densities. Whittaker’s functions and variable separable techniques have been taken into the application to calculate the interior deformations inside the assumed model; consequently, we obtain a closed form dispersion relation for the torsional wave using effective boundary conditions. Moreover, casewise dispersion equations for some particular aspects of the problem have been studied, which serve as the focal theme of the study. Some significant observations have been made by detailed numerical calculations and graphical visuals related to the effects of tensile and compressive initial stresses, sandy parameters, heterogeneity parameters, porosity parameter, and thickness ratio parameter on the phase velocity of the torsional wave. 相似文献

The dispersion and excitation mechanisms and the energy distribution of guided waves in a stratified half-space are studied. All possible guided waves excited by a symmetric point source in two or three-layer medium models and their relation to the medium parameters are analyzed in detail. The excitation and propagation characteristics, as well as the energy distribution along the depth direction, of all modes of the surface waves and trapped waves are numerically investigated and analyzed thoroughly not only in the case when the shear wave velocity increases from up to down layers but also when a low-velocity layer is contained in halfspace, especially when the shear wave velocity decreases from up to down layers. It is found that there exist many guided wave modes in the case where the shear wave velocity of each layer increases from up to down layers. However, there is less than one guided wave mode in the case where the shear wave velocity of each layer decreases from up to down layers. The trapped waves exist and propagate along the low-velocity structure in the stratified half-space. It is also found that the characteristic of a mode is related to the source frequency. It is possible that a surface wave at one value of frequency is like a trapped wave at another value of frequency. Finally, the relation of the characteristics of all guided waves (surface waves and trapped waves) to the parameters of media is studied. 相似文献

Based on a modified-Darcy–Brinkman–Maxwell model, stability analysis of a horizontal layer of Maxwell fluid in a porous medium heated from below is performed. By solving the eigenvalue problems, the critical Rayleigh number, wave number and frequency for overstability are determined. It is found that the critical Rayleigh number for overstability decreases as the relaxation time increases and the elasticity of a Maxwell fluid has a destabilizing effect on the fluid layer in porous media. On the other hand, the critical Rayleigh number for overstability increases by increasing the porous parameter which acts to stabilize the system. In limiting cases, some previous results for viscoelastic fluids in nonporous media are recovered from our results. 相似文献

The impact of a dc magnetic field on evanescent TE and TM waves at the interface of transparent media comprising a semiconductor layer and a semi-infinite antiferromagnet is investigated using Otto geometry as an example. It is shown that switching a dc magnetic field orthogonal to a sagittal plane allows maximum amplification of the intensity of propagating evanescent TM or TE waves in both a layer and in semi-infinite space. The optimum conditions correspond to the formation of a peculiar TM or TE surface wave. 相似文献

利用固体和流体介质中波传播理论,导出了冰-水两层复合结构中导波频散方程。进一步,利用二分法对频散方程进行了数值求解,得到了ω-k频散曲线(ω与k分别为圆频率和波数),以及相速度和群速度频散曲线。结果表明:冰-水两层复合结构中导波由具有相同厚度水层和冰层中导波耦合而成,但与水层和冰层中导波频散曲线相比,复合结构中导波频散曲线除第1阶模式外,其余高阶模式均发生了很大变化。从原水层第1阶模式的截止频率开始,复合结构第2阶模式的相速度曲线被压低,各高阶(大于2阶)模式的相速度曲线出现一个跃变点,群速度曲线出现一个极大和一个极小值。水层越厚,复合结构各高阶模式的截止频率越低,相同频带内导波模式越丰富。水层厚度保持不变时,复合结构各阶模式的相速度和群速度曲线均随冰层厚度的增加而向低频方向移动。另外,还进一步分析了冰-水复合结构的导波波结构,发现第1阶导波模式的能量主要集中在冰层内和海表面附近,而2阶以上高阶导波模式的振动位移幅度随深度方向呈现周期性特征,并且模式阶数越高,振动越复杂。 相似文献

The features of Bragg reflection of light from a plane-parallel layer perturbed by a standing ultrasonic wave are investigated. It is shown that, with an increase in the thickness of the modulated layer, the reflection coefficient of the light wave diffracted by the ultrasound reaches the maximum value at smaller intensities of the ultrasound and is determined by the relation between the refractive indices of the adjoining media. The possibility of efficient acousto-optical diffraction of light in the Bragg reflection regime at superlattices of photoelasticity in the field of low-frequency ultrasonic waves with a moderate level of acoustic power is established. 相似文献

A theory of acoustic self-induced transparency of a two-component vector soliton for a generalized Love wave is constructed. The three-layer system contains a resonance transition layer with paramagnetic impurity atoms or quantum dots. It is shown that, under these conditions, a vector soliton of the generalized Love wave can be formed. It oscillates at the sum and difference frequencies in the vicinity of the carrier wave frequency. Explicit analytical expressions for the parameters of a nonlinear surface acoustic wave are presented. The parameters depend on the elastic properties of the contacting media, the resonance transition layer, and the transverse structure of the wave. Numerical calculations are carried out for the three-layer Al2O3/ZnO/SiO2 system. The significant difference between the two-component vector soliton and singlecomponent soliton is shown. 相似文献

Excitable media with twisted anisotropy have recently been attracting significant interest because of their applicability to wave propagation in heart tissue. Here we consider the dynamics of an intramural scroll wave whose filament lies initially within an arbitrary layer of mutually parallel cardiac fibers, and drifts parallel to itself from layer to layer. Earlier simulations have demonstrated that such a filament stabilizes in a layer whose fiber direction is the same as its own. In the present paper we analytically derive the trajectory of the filament, and obtain good agreement with earlier numerical data. For sufficiently sparse scrolls, our analysis predicts an equilibrium alignment perpendicular rather than parallel to the fibers. 相似文献

We investigate the guided waves in a multi-layered cylindrical elastic solid medium. The dispersion function of guided waves is usually complex and the dispersion curves of all modes are not conveniently obtained. Here we present an effective method to obtain the dispersion curves of all modes. First, the dispersion function of the guided waves is transformed into a real function. The dispersion curves are then calculated for all the modes of the guided waves by the bisection method. The modes with the orders n = 0, 1, and 2 are analysed in two- and three-layer media. The existence condition of Stoneley wave is discussed. The modes of the guided waves are also investigated in a two-layer medium, in which the velocity of shear wave in the outer layer is less than that in the inner layer. 相似文献

We report a crossover in optical propagation in random layered media from localization towards diffusion as the interaction of the wave with the sample is transformed from one to three dimensional due to nonuniformity in the layer thickness. As an example, we consider the case of the Fibonacci sequence and study the ergodic properties in such systems. From the results of the channel occupation number of nine generations, we find that the wave transport in such systems falls between the transport of anisotropic hopping systems and that of randomly layered media and can be associated with a fractal dimension that can be tuned according to the strength of the layer coupling.
