Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) doped with different mole concentrations of Urea and KCl were grown using low temperature solution growth technique. X‐ray diffraction studies were carried out on the grown crystals using a Shimadzu X‐ray diffractometer with CuKD radiation. X‐ray study revealed that the structures of the doped crystals are slightly distorted compared to the pure KDP crystal. This may be attributed to strains on the lattice by the adsorption of urea and KCl.  相似文献

Tri Glycinsulphate with partial substitution of phosphoric acid, namely Tri Glycine Sulpho Phosphate (TGSP) has been grown by slow cooling method. Habit modifications have been observed with change in the concentration of ortho phosphoric acid (H3PO4). Monoclinic structure of the grown crystals has been confirmed using X‐ray diffraction analysis. TGSP crystals doped with L – Asparagine were also grown. The doping effect is qualitatively estimated using FTIR analysis. TGA, DTA studies and dielectric measurements were carried out for pure and L‐Asparagine doped TGSP crystals to investigate the thermal and electrical properties of the crystals. Single crystals of amino acid doped (L–citrulline, L‐ascorbic acid) triglycine sulphate were grown by slow evaporation technique. The lattice parameters and crystalline quality were confirmed by powder X‐ray diffraction studies. The presence of functional groups in the grown crystals was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectrum analysis. The dielectric studies were carried out to identify the phase transition temperature and the dielectric constant was found to be less for both the doped crystals than pure triglycine sulphate crystal. Micro hardness studies were carried out using Vickers pyramidal indentation technique at room temperature showed a decrease in hardness due to doping. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Modified hippuric acid (HA) single crystals have been grown from aqueous solution of acetone by doping with NaCl and KCl using slow evaporation technique at constant temperature, with the vision to improve the physicochemical properties of the sample. The characterisation of grown crystals was made by X‐ray powder diffraction, density and melting point measurements. TGA/DTA studies indicate that doped crystals are more stable than pure crystals. The optical transmission study and Kurtz powder SHG measurement shows the suitability of doped crystals for NLO applications. Dopant concentration is identified with ICP atomic emission spectrometer system. The Vicker's hardness studies at room temperature, carried out on (111) crystallographic plane shows increased hardness of the doped crystals. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. High quality single crystals of ternary AgGaS2 (AGS) semiconductor with chalcopyrite structure have been grown by chemical vapor transport (CVT) technique using iodine as a transporting agent at different growth zone temperatures. The powder X‐ray diffraction and single crystal X‐ray diffraction studies indicate that the as‐grown AGS crystals belong to the tetragonal (chalcopyrite) system with (112) plane as the dominant peak. The full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the X‐ray rocking curve for the as‐grown AGS single crystal is 5 arcsec. The energy dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDAX) and optical transmission spectra of as‐grown AGS single crystals grown at different conditions show the almost same composition and band gap (2.65 eV). Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of as‐grown AGS single crystals show prominent band edge emission at 2.61 eV. The resistivity of the as‐grown AGS single crystal has been measured. Lithium tetraborate crystals have great demand due to its non‐critical phase matching at 90°. Transparent and good optical quality single crystals of undoped and Mn doped Li2B4O7 were grown by Czochralski technique in air atmosphere. The crystalline phase was determined by X‐ray diffraction. Doping of Mn in the grown crystals was confirmed by energy dispersive analysis of X‐rays (EDAX) technique. Transmission spectra show that the crystal is transparent in the visible region. Birefringence interferograms were recorded to qualitatively analyse the optical homogeneity of the grown crystals and to quantify the birefringence of the samples in desired crystal direction. L(+)Glutamic acid hydrochloride [HOOC (CH2)2CH(NH2) COOH·HCl], a monoamino dicarboxylic acid salt of L‐Glutamic acid was synthesized and the synthesis was confirmed by FTIR analysis. Solubility of the material in water was determined. Pure and Thiourea doped L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride crystals were grown by low temperature solution growth using solvent evaporation technique. XRD, UV‐Vis‐NIR analyses were carried out for both pure and thiourea doped crystals. The crystals were qualitatively analyzed by EDAX analysis and the presence of thiourea was confirmed. The cell parameters of L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride have been determined as a = 5.151 Å, b = 11.79 Å, c = 13.35 Å by X‐ray diffraction analysis and it crystallizes in orthorhombic space group P212121. UV‐Vis‐NIR spectra analysis showed good optical transmission in the entire visible region for both pure and doped crystals. Micro hardness of both pure and doped crystals has been determined using Vickers micro hardness tester. The SHG efficiencies of both pure and doped crystals were determined using Kurtz powder test and pure L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride crystal was found to possess better efficiency than thiourea doped L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride crystals. Crack‐free, rod‐shaped single crystals of undoped and 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 mol% ZrO2‐doped LiNbO3 with a near‐stoichiometric composition were grown by the micro‐pulling down (μ‐PD) method. The structural properties of the grown crystals were examined by powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD). Electron probe micro analysis (EPMA) of the near‐stoichiometric LiNbO3 single crystals revealed the homogeneous incorporation of Zr ions. The change in the refractive index and IR transmission spectra of the grown crystals were examined as a function of the Zr concentration. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

KLN, Fe:KLN, Mn:KLN and Cu:KLN crystals were grown by Czochraski method. The structure of crystal was measured by X‐ray diffraction technique. The results indicated that the doped crystals kept the same structural characteristics as the pure KLN crystal, but the lattice constants of Fe:KLN and Mn:KLN crystals became smaller than that of pure KLN crystal, and that values of Cu:KLN crystal became larger than that of pure KLN crystal. This indicated that Fe and Mn cations replaced Nb cation, and Cu cation replace K cation after they entered into the lattice of KLN crystal. The result of ultraviolet‐visible absorption spectra was identified with that of X‐ray diffraction analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, photorefractive properties of Mg:Ce:Cu:LiNbO3 crystals were studied. The crystals doped with different concentration of Mg ions have been grown by the Czochralski method. Mg concentrations in grown crystals were analyzed by an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP‐OE/MS). The crystal structures were analyzed by the X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet‐visible (UV‐Vis) absorption spectra and infrared (IR) transmitatance spectra. The photorefractive properties of crystals were experimentally studied by using two‐beam coupling. In this experiment we determined the writing time, maximum diffraction efficiency and the erasure time of crystals samples with He‐Ne laser. The results showed that the dynamic range (M/#), sensitivity (S) and diffraction efficiency (η) were dependent on the Mg doping concentration, and the Mg(4.58mol%):Ce:Cu:LiNbO3 crystal was the most proper holographic recording media material among the six crystals studied in the paper. The pure congruent LiNbO3, Er:LiNbO3 and Zn,Er co‐doped Li‐rich LiNbO3 crystals were grown by Czochralski method. The X‐ray diffraction method and ultraviolet‐visible absorption spectra of the crystals were used to analyze the structure of the crystals. The photo‐damage ability resistance of the crystals was measured. The Zn,Er co‐doped Li‐rich LiNbO3 crystals show a decrease in lattice constant values, a shift in absorption edge of ultraviolet‐visible absorption spectra towards shorter wavelength, and three orders of magnitude increase in photo‐damage resistance compared to congruent LiNbO3 crystal. The intrinsic and extrinsic defects are discussed to explain the enhance of the photo‐damage ability resistance  相似文献

Using the micro‐pulling‐down method, (Ce,Sr)‐doped PrAlO3 square‐shaped single crystals (4×4×12 mm) were grown. Structural parameters studied by X‐ray powder diffraction were consistent with R3m space group. Compositional homogeneity was checked with electron probe micro‐analysis and found quite uniform. Absorption spectra and luminescence characteristics under UV and X‐ray excitations were measured at room temperature with no Ce‐related emission appeared. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Optically transparent formic acid (FA) doped potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystal of dimension 21×15×9 mm3 has been grown by slow evaporation solution technique (SEST). The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) technique was used to confirm the cell parameters and the shifts in peak positions of identified reflecting planes. The incorporation of FA in KDP has been qualitatively analyzed by fourier transform infrared analysis. The UV‐visible absorption spectrum of crystals has been recorded in the range of 200 to 900 nm and the doped KDP crystal is found to have improved optical parameters than pure KDP. The color centered photoluminescence emission spectrum of grown crystal has been illustrated in visible region. The mechanical behavior of pure and doped KDP crystal has been investigated using the Vicker's microhardness analyzer and hardness parameters have been calculated. The effect of FA on thermal stability of KDP crystal was examined by means of thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis. The temperature dependent dielectric behavior of crystals was studied.  相似文献

Undoped and PbI2‐doped dendritic single crystals were grown by vapour growth technique. The basal surfaces of the as grown crystals were examined by optical and electron microscopy to observe wide variety of growth and defect features. Apart from typical features of dendritic growth, features of overgrowth, slip bands, growth steps and their bunching, etc. were observed. The basal surfaces of the crystals were then etched by controlled condensation of water vapour, after optimizing the etching condition, and the microscopic studies were repeated. Etch pits of hexagonal and triangular shape, both symmetric and asymmetric, and of different density, were observed in the case of undoped and doped crystals, respectively. In some cases, crystallographic hillocks were also observed. The crystals were also examined by X‐ray diffraction for their polytypism and related behaviour. The results are analyzed to elicit information on the correlation of structure, defects and surface features of the crystals. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

4‐N, N‐diethylamino‐4’‐N’‐methyl‐stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) crystals were grown by slope nucleation method (SNM). The crystal structure of grown DAST crystals was characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction with demonstrating X‐ray diffraction main peaks. The crystal defects were analyzed by the synchrotron radiation X‐ray topography. It was found that the unbalanced temperature gradient, the Teflon groove and the super saturation fluctuation were primary causes of crystal defects. Furthermore, widely tunable THz waves ranging from 1.16 to 16.71 THz were generated from 1 mm‐thick DAST crystal using the optical parametric oscillator (OPO). It was obtained that the THz output energy was 27.4 nJ (peak power of 2.74 W) and the highest conversion efficiency was 1.37 × 10−5 at 3.8 THz.  相似文献

InAs co‐doped ZnO films were grown on sapphire substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The grown films have been characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Hall effect measurements, Atomic force microscope (AFM) and Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) in order to investigate the structural, electrical, morphological and elemental properties of the films respectively. XRD analysis showed that all the films were highly orientated along the c‐axis. It was observed from Hall effect measurements that InAs co‐doped ZnO films were of n‐type conductivity. In addition, the presence of In and As has been confirmed by Energy dispersive X‐ray analysis. AFM images revealed that the surface roughness of the films was decreased upon the co‐doping. Single crystal of 2 mol% glycine doped Bis Thiourea Cadmium Chloride, a semi organic nonlinear optical material has been grown by slow evaporation technique. Good quality single crystal with dimension 14 × 12 × 5 mm3 was harvested after 35 days. The influence of amino acid glycine was studied for 1, 2 and 3 mol% glycine doped Bis Thiourea Cadmium Chloride by Kurtz and Perry powder second harmonic generation test and compared with pure Bis Thiourea Cadmium Chloride which confirms the enhancement of second harmonic generation property of glycine doped Bis Thiourea Cadmium Chloride. The large enhancement was found for 2 mol% glycine doping. The grown crystal was characterized by various characterizations viz. single crystal X‐ray diffraction, energy dispersive X‐ray (EDAX), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis, UV‐visible absorption, thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). Crystals of potassium alum, pure and slightly doped with Cr3+, were grown from aqueous solution by slow temperature lowering. In addition, short re‐dissolution periods were introduced in order to provoke growth defects and changes of growth rates. Crystal slices of about 1 mm thickness were studied by conventional LANG X‐ray diffraction topography using MoKα radiation. For Cr‐doped crystals, boundaries between {100}, {100} and {111} growth sectors appear by pronounced dynamical X‐ray topographic contrast similar to that of stacking faults. Re‐dissolution experiments provoke the formation of inclusions on {100} faces, followed by an increase of the {100} growth rate by the factor of about six, relative to the neighboured {111} faces. X‐ray topographs show that this increase is correlated with the formation of dislocations, which interestingly have pure‐edge character. During further growth these dislocations penetrate the {100}‐{111} growth sector boundary and vanish from the {100} face, which slows down and finally adopts its former growth rate before re‐dissolution.  相似文献

A new nonlinear optical material tetrakis thiourea nickel chloride (TTNC) was synthesized and single crystals were grown from mixed solvent of water and isopropanol by both slow evaporation and slow cooling methods. The grown crystals were characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction analyses to confirm the crystal structure. The presence of functional groups and the coordination of metal ions to thiourea were confirmed by FTIR and Raman spectroscopy analyses. UV‐VIS spectrum was recorded to study the optical transparency of the grown crystals. Thermal properties of the crystals have been by investigated using thermo gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA), which indicate that the material does not decompose before melting. The second order nonlinear optical property of the grown crystal was examined by Kurtz powder technique and mechanical behavior was studied by Vicker's microhardness test. Forsterite monocrystals doped with Ti and Ni were grown by the flux growth technique. A suitable mixture of flux (MoO3, V2O5, Li2CO3) and nutrient was slowly cooled down to 750 °C from 1250 °C or 1350 °C. The crystals were then characterized by powder and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Variations observed in crystal size were attributed by both the varying experimental conditions in which they had been obtained, and to the amount of Ni substituted for Mg in the structure. High abundances of doped forsterite required a cooling rate of 1.8 K h‐1. These synthetic, well‐characterized Ti and Ni doped forsterite crystals may have potential for exploitation in industrial fields. (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献
