Evidence is reported for two nucleon resonances with spin-parity JP=1/2JP=1/2 and JP=3/2JP=3/2 at a mass just below 1.9 GeV. The evidence is derived from a coupled-channel analysis of a large number of pion and photo-produced reactions. The two resonances are nearly degenerate in mass with two resonances of the same spin but positive parity. Such parity doublets are predicted in models claiming restoration of chiral symmetry in high-mass excitations of the nucleon. Further examples of spin parity doublets are found in addition. Alternatively, the spin doublet can be interpreted as member of the 56-plet expected in the third excitation band of the nucleon. Implications for the problem of the missing resonances are discussed.  相似文献

A Dirichlet polynomial d in one variable y is a function of the form d(y)=anny++a22y+a11y+a00y for some n,a0,,anN. We will show how to think of a Dirichlet polynomial as a set-theoretic bundle, and thus as an empirical distribution. We can then consider the Shannon entropy H(d) of the corresponding probability distribution, and we define its length (or, classically, its perplexity) by L(d)=2H(d). On the other hand, we will define a rig homomorphism h:DirRect from the rig of Dirichlet polynomials to the so-called rectangle rig, whose underlying set is R0×R0 and whose additive structure involves the weighted geometric mean; we write h(d)=(A(d),W(d)), and call the two components area and width (respectively). The main result of this paper is the following: the rectangle-area formula A(d)=L(d)W(d) holds for any Dirichlet polynomial d. In other words, the entropy of an empirical distribution can be calculated entirely in terms of the homomorphism h applied to its corresponding Dirichlet polynomial. We also show that similar results hold for the cross entropy.  相似文献

Among various modifications of the permutation entropy defined as the Shannon entropy of the ordinal pattern distribution underlying a system, a variant based on Rényi entropies was considered in a few papers. This paper discusses the relatively new concept of Rényi permutation entropies in dependence of non-negative real number q parameterizing the family of Rényi entropies and providing the Shannon entropy for q=1. Its relationship to Kolmogorov–Sinai entropy and, for q=2, to the recently introduced symbolic correlation integral are touched.  相似文献

Results from a multichannel partial wave analysis of elastic and inelastic πN and γN   induced reactions are presented. The analysis evidences the existence of a spin-quartet of nucleon resonances with total angular momenta JP=1/2+,…,7/2+JP=1/2+,,7/2+. All states fall into a ±130 MeV mass gap centered at 1.97 GeV. The spin quartet is at variance with S-wave diquark configurations required in classical diquark models.  相似文献

Sample entropy, an approximation of the Kolmogorov entropy, was proposed to characterize complexity of a time series, which is essentially defined as log(B/A), where B denotes the number of matched template pairs with length m and A denotes the number of matched template pairs with m+1, for a predetermined positive integer m. It has been widely used to analyze physiological signals. As computing sample entropy is time consuming, the box-assisted, bucket-assisted, x-sort, assisted sliding box, and kd-tree-based algorithms were proposed to accelerate its computation. These algorithms require O(N2) or O(N21m+1) computational complexity, where N is the length of the time series analyzed. When N is big, the computational costs of these algorithms are large. We propose a super fast algorithm to estimate sample entropy based on Monte Carlo, with computational costs independent of N (the length of the time series) and the estimation converging to the exact sample entropy as the number of repeating experiments becomes large. The convergence rate of the algorithm is also established. Numerical experiments are performed for electrocardiogram time series, electroencephalogram time series, cardiac inter-beat time series, mechanical vibration signals (MVS), meteorological data (MD), and 1/f noise. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm can gain 100–1000 times speedup compared to the kd-tree and assisted sliding box algorithms while providing satisfactory approximate accuracy.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with the critical problems in residue arithmetic. The reverse conversion from a Residue Number System (RNS) to positional notation is a main non-modular operation, and it constitutes a basis of other non-modular procedures used to implement various computational algorithms. We present a novel approach to the parallel reverse conversion from the residue code into a weighted number representation in the Mixed-Radix System (MRS). In our proposed method, the calculation of mixed-radix digits reduces to a parallel summation of the small word-length residues in the independent modular channels corresponding to the primary RNS moduli. The computational complexity of the developed method concerning both required modular addition operations and one-input lookup tables is estimated as Ok2/2, where k equals the number of used moduli. The time complexity is Olog2k modular clock cycles. In pipeline mode, the throughput rate of the proposed algorithm is one reverse conversion in one modular clock cycle.  相似文献

An exact incompressible quantum liquid is constructed at the filling factor 1/m21/m2 in the square lattice. It supports deconfined fractionally charged excitation. At the filling factor 1/m21/m2, the excitation has fractional charge e/m2e/m2, where ee is the electric charge. This model can be easily generalized to the nn-dimensional square lattice (integer lattice), where the charge of excitations becomes e/mne/mn.  相似文献

We develop a variational approximation to the entanglement entropy for scalar ?4?4 theory in 1+11+1, 2+12+1, and 3+13+1 dimensions, and then examine the entanglement entropy as a function of the coupling. We find that in 1+11+1 and 2+12+1 dimensions, the entanglement entropy of ?4?4 theory as a function of coupling is monotonically decreasing and convex. While ?4?4 theory with positive bare coupling in 3+13+1 dimensions is thought to lead to a trivial free theory, we analyze a version of ?4?4 with infinitesimal negative bare coupling, an asymptotically free theory known as precarious  ?4?4 theory, and explore the monotonicity and convexity of its entanglement entropy as a function of coupling. Within the variational approximation, the stability of precarious ?4?4 theory is related to the sign of the first and second derivatives of the entanglement entropy with respect to the coupling.  相似文献

Using the recent results for the two-parton light-cone distribution amplitudes of the tensor meson, we calculate the form factors for the decays of Bu,d,sBu,d,s into the light JPC=2++JPC=2++ tensor mesons via the vector/axial–vector/tensor current with the light-cone sum rules. We also obtain the q2q2-dependence of the form factors.  相似文献

A non-linear SO(8)SO(8) invariant BF type Lagrangian for describing the dynamics of N M2-branes in flat spacetime has been proposed recently in the literature which is an extension of the non-abelian DBI action of N   D2-branes. This action includes only terms with even number of the totally antisymmetric tensor MIJKMIJK. We argue that the action should contain terms with odd number of MIJLMIJL as well. We modify the action to include them.  相似文献

We propose methods towards a systematic determination of d  -dimensional curved spaces where Euclidean field theories with rigid supersymmetry can be defined. The analysis is carried out from a group theory as well as from a supergravity point of view. In particular, by using appropriate gauged supergravities in various dimensions we show that supersymmetry can be defined in conformally flat spaces, such as non-compact hyperboloids Hn+1Hn+1 and compact spheres SnSn or – by turning on appropriate Wilson lines corresponding to R-symmetry vector fields – on S1×SnS1×Sn, with n<6n<6. By group theory arguments we show that Euclidean field theories with rigid supersymmetry cannot be consistently defined on round spheres SdSd if d>5d>5 (despite the existence of Killing spinors). We also show that distorted spheres and certain orbifolds are also allowed by the group theory classification.  相似文献

In [L. Lebtahi, Lie algebra on the transverse bundle of a decreasing family of foliations, J. Geom. Phys. 60 (2010), 122–133], we defined the transverse bundle VkVk to a decreasing family of kk foliations FiFi on a manifold MM. We have shown that there exists a (1,1)(1,1) tensor JJ of VkVk such that Jk≠0Jk0, Jk+1=0Jk+1=0 and we defined by LJ(Vk)LJ(Vk) the Lie Algebra of vector fields XX on VkVk such that, for each vector field YY on VkVk, [X,JY]=J[X,Y][X,JY]=J[X,Y].  相似文献
