Newly designed 2H‐benzimidazole derivatives which have solubility groups at 2‐position have been synthesized and incorporated into two highly soluble carbazole based alternating copolymers, poly[2,7‐(9‐(1′‐octylnonyl)‐9H‐carbazole)‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di(thien‐2‐yl)‐2H‐benzimidazole‐2′‐spirocyclohexane)] (PCDTCHBI) and poly[2,7‐(9‐(1′‐octylnonyl)‐9H‐carbazole)‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di(thien‐2‐yl)‐2H‐benzimidazole‐2′‐spiro‐4′′‐((2′′′‐ethylhexyl)oxy)‐cyclohexane)] (PCDTEHOCHBI) for photovoltaic application. These alternating copolymers show low‐band gap properties caused by internal charge transfer from an electron‐rich unit to an electron‐deficient moiety. HOMO and LUMO levels are –5.53 and –3.86 eV for PCDTCHBI, and –5.49 and –3.84 eV for PCDTEHOCHBI, respectively. Optical band gaps of PCDTCHBI and PCDTEHOCHBI are 1.67 and 1.65 eV, respectively. The new carbazole based the 2H‐benzimidazole polymers show 0.11–0.13 eV lower values of band gaps as compared to that of carbazole based benzothiadiazole polymer, poly[N‐9′‐heptadecanyl‐2,7‐carbazole‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di‐2‐thienyl‐2′,1′,3′‐benzothiadiazole)] (PCDTBT), while keeping nearly the same deep HOMO levels. The power conversion efficiencies of PCDTCHBI and PCDTEHOCHBI blended with [6,6]phenyl‐C71‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) are 1.03 and 1.15%, respectively. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new accepter unit, dimethyl‐2H‐benzimidazole, was prepared and used for the synthesis of the conjugated polymers containing electron donor–acceptor pair for organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Dimethyl‐2H‐benzimidazole unit was designed to substitute the BT unit of poly(N‐9′‐heptadecanyl‐2,7‐carbazole‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di‐2‐thienyl‐2′,1′,3′‐benzothiadiazole)) (PCDTBT). A series of new semiconducting polymers with 2,2‐dimethyl‐2H‐benzimidazole, 9‐heptadecanyl‐9H‐carbazole, and thiophene (or bithiophene) units was synthesized using Stille polymerization to generate PCDTMBIs (or PCBBTMBIs). In dimethyl‐2H‐benzimidazole, the sulfur at 2‐position of BT unit was replaced with dialkyl substituted carbon, while keeping the 1,2‐quinoid form, to improve the solubility of the polymers. The absorption spectra of PCDTMBIs with thiophene units exhibit two maximum peaks at about 430 and 613–645 nm in solution. The solutions of PCBBTMBIs show two absorption peaks at about 445–456 and 630–645 nm which is red‐shifted about 20 nm when compared with PCDTMBIs caused by the introduction of bithiophene units. In most efficient polymer PCBBTMBI3, the device annealed at 100 °C for 10 min demonstrated a VOC value of 0.60 V, a JSC value of 4.31 mA/cm2, and a FF of 0.35, leading to the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 0.91%, under white light illumination (AM 1.5 G and 100 mW/cm2). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of 2‐(substituted phenyl)‐1H‐benzimidazole derivatives with various 5‐and 6‐position substituents (‐H, ‐CH3, ‐CF3) were synthesized via microwave irradiation using a short synthetic route and Na2S2O5 as oxidant. This simple, fast, and efficient preparation of benzimidazole derivatives has been developed using readily available and inexpensive reagents (aldehydes and 1,2‐phenylenediamines) under solvent‐free conditions.  相似文献

A mixture of novel benzimidazole salts (2a–f), Pd(OAc)2 and K2CO3 in DMF? H2O catalyzes, in high yield, the Heck cross‐coupling reaction assisted by microwave irradiation in a short time. All synthesized novel benzimidazole derivatives were characterized by elemental analysis and NMR spectroscopy. In addition, the molecular structure of 2a was determined by X‐ray crystallography. Series of star‐shaped three arms oligoimides (SOI) with terminal amino groups with narrow MWD ((Mw/Mn = 1.1–2) was synthesized by the one‐stage high‐temperature polycondensation in molten benzoic acid at 140 °C. The (B3+AB′) approach with the “slow addition of monomer” method was used for this synthesis, where B3 is 2,4,6‐tris(4‐aminophenoxy)toluene and AB′ is 3‐aminophenoxy phthalic acid. The SOI arm's length was controlled by the AB′/B3 mole ratio of 10:1, 20:1, 40:1, and 100:1. By the reaction of SOI's terminal amino groups with acetic anhydride, corresponding acetamide derivatives were obtained. A mixture of benzimidazole salts (2–7), Pd(OAc)2 and K2CO3 in DMF–H2O catalyzes the Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions promoted by microwave irradiation resulting in high yield within a short time. In particular, the yield of the Suzuki–Miyaura reactions with aryl bromides was found to be nearly quantitative. The synthesized benzimidazole salts (2–7) were identified by 1H‐13C, NMR, IR spectroscopic methods and microanalysis. The molecular structure of 1 was determined by X‐ray crystallography. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the novel benzimidazole derivatives (1–7) were also tested against standard strains. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A novel benzoxazine‐containing benzimidazole moiety (P‐PABZ) was synthesized from 2‐(4‐aminophenyl)‐1H‐benzimidazole‐5‐amine and characterized. With the aid of differential scanning calorimetry and in situ Fourier transform infrared, we found the thermal polymerization of P‐PABZ in bulk started around 140 °C and its favored polymerization pathway. Compared to the benzoxazine derived from 4,4′‐diamine diphenyl methane (P‐MDA), P‐PABZ exhibited lower processing temperature, and the corresponding polymers had higher glass transition temperature and enhanced thermal stability. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Four organotin complexes with 2,2′‐bipyridine‐4,4′‐dicarboxylic acid, H2dcbp: (Ph3n)2(dcbp) 1 , [(PhCH2)3n]2(dcbp) ⋅ 2CH3OH 2 , [(Me3Sn)2(dcbp)]n 3 , [(Bu3Sn)2(dcbp)]n 4 have been synthesized. The complexes 1–4 were characterized by elemental, IR, 1H, 13C, 119n NMR, and X‐ray crystallographic analyses. Crystal structures show that complex 1 is a monomer with one ligand coordinated to two triorganotin moieties, and a 1D infinite polymeric chain generates via intermolecular C H⋅⋅⋅N hydrogen bond; complex 2 is also a monomer and forms a 2D network by intermolecular O–H⋅⋅⋅O weak interaction; both of complexes 3 and 4 form 2D network structures where 2,2′‐bipyridine‐4,4′‐dicarboxylate acts as a tetradentate ligand coordinated to trimethyltin and tri‐n‐butyltin ions, respectively. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The novel trans‐stereo‐regular silylene–thiophene derivatives ( 4 , 5 ) with perfect consecutive silylene–arylene–silylene–vinylene linkage were synthesized via silylative coupling polycondensation of 2,5‐bis(vinyldimethylsilyl)thiophene ( 2 ) or 5,5′‐bis(vinyldimethylsilyl)‐2,2′‐bithiophene ( 3 ) catalyzed by ruthenium‐hydride complex [RuHCl(CO)(PCy3)2] ( 1 ). We synthesized 2′‐carbaboranyl‐2,5′‐bi‐1H‐benzimidazoles containing 10 B‐atoms and labeled with Se or the positron‐emitting radionuclide 73Se (t1/2=7.1 h), with a view to their application to cancer treatment by boron‐neutron‐capture therapy (BNCT) and to compound‐distribution measurements in vivo by positron‐emission tomography (PET). Thus, 2,2′‐{{2′‐{4‐[1,2‐dicarba‐closo‐dodecaboran(12)‐2‐ylmethoxy]phenyl}‐[2,5′‐bi‐1H‐benzimidazol]‐5‐yl}imino}bis[ethanol] ( 26c ) was obtained by the reaction of 2,2′‐[(3,4‐diaminophenyl)imino]bis[ethanol] ( 19 ) with ethyl 2‐{4‐[1,2‐dicarba‐closo‐dodecaboran(12)‐2‐ylmethoxy]phenyl}‐1H‐benzimidazole‐5‐carboximidate hydrochloride ( 25 ), as well as the analogues 26a and 26b (Scheme 6). Tosylation of compound 26c gave 4 regioisomers 27a – d , which, after selenation, produced 2′‐{4‐[1,2‐dicarba‐closo‐dodecaboran(12)‐2‐ylmethoxy]phenyl}‐5‐(tetrahydro‐2H‐1,4‐selenazin‐4‐yl)‐2,5′‐bi‐1H‐benzimidazole ( 29 ) in 42% yield (Scheme 7).  相似文献

Reaction of 1‐amino‐3‐arylpyrido[1,2‐a]benzimidazole‐2,4‐dicarbonitrile (1) with dimethylformamide‐dimethylacetal (DMF‐DMA) gave 1 ‐[N,N‐(dimethylaminomethylene)amino]‐3‐arylpyrido[1,2‐a]benzimidazole‐2,4‐dicarbonitrile (2). Compounds (1) reacted with triethylorthoformate yielding 1‐[N‐(ethoxymethylene)amino]‐3‐arylpyrido[1,2‐a]benzimidazole‐2,4‐dicarbonitrile (3). 3‐Amino‐4‐imino‐5‐aryl‐6‐cyanopyrimido[5′,4′:5,6]pyrido[1,2‐α] benzimidazole (4) was synthesized via condensation of either (2) or (3) with hydrazine hydrate. Reactions of (4) with acetic anhydride, ethyl chloroformate or aryl isothiocyanate yielded the respective derivative of the new ring system namely 1,2,4‐triazolo[2″,3″:6′,1′]pyrimido[4′,5′:2,3]pyrido[1,2‐a]benzimidazole (5–7).  相似文献

A series of three‐ring analogs of the minor‐groove‐binding molecule Hoechst 33258 ( 1 ), consisting of benzimidazole (B), imidazopyridine (P), and hydroxybenzimidazole (H) monomers, have been synthesized in order to investigate both their sequence specificity and binding modes. MPE⋅FeII Footprinting has revealed the preference of both PBB and BBB ligands for 5′‐WGWWW‐3′ and 5′‐WCWWW‐3′ tracts, as well as A⋅T‐rich sequences. Affinity‐cleavage titrations show no evidence for a 2 : 1 binding mode of these Hoechst analogs. Importantly, all derivatives are oriented in one direction at each of their binding sites. The implications of these results for the design of minor‐groove‐binding small molecules is discussed.  相似文献

A series of novel 2,2′‐(N,N′‐diarylamino)‐4,4′‐diaryl‐5,5′‐arylidene‐bisthiazoles 2 were rapidly and smoothly prepared in good yields by using non conventional techniques i.e. microwave or ultrasonic irradiation, through indium trichloride catalyzed electrophilic substitution reaction of 2‐(N‐arylamino)‐4‐arylthiazoles 1 with various arylaldehydes. All the synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses and spectral data (IR, PMR and Mass). The synthesized compounds were also evaluated for their insecticidal activity against Helicoverpa armigera and gave promising results. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Benzimidazoles and their derivatives including imidazole are studied widely because they exist in the structure of natural products and different drugs. pKa values are extremely important for drug discovery and improvement in order to determine pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic features such as permeation through biological barriers, interactions with the target area or side effects. Acid–base features (pKa) have great importance not only for physiological characteristics but also for being used as a ligand or changing physico‐chemical features by turning benzimidazoles into salts. Within the scope of this study, a variety of new benzimidazole salts were synthesized, and their characterizations were made by NMR spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy and element analysis techniques. The pKa values of synthesized benzimidazole salts were determined by inflection point approach using integration values obtained with 1H NMR spectroscopy and Henderson–Hasselbalch analysis. pKa values of some benzimidazole salts were also determined by potentiometric methods in order to compare those of NMR spectroscopy results. A number of 1‐substituted 4H,5H,6H‐[1,3]thiazolo[3,2‐a][1,5]benzodiazepinium‐11‐bromides and S‐(2‐oxo‐2‐phenyl‐X‐(p)‐ethyl)‐3‐(2‐methyl‐1H‐benzimidazol‐1‐yl) propane (or butane) thioate hydrobromides were obtained by direct reaction of the 5‐acetyl(or formyl, or anilinocarbonyl)‐substituted tetrahydro‐1,5‐benzodiazepine‐2‐thiones with aromatic α‐bromoketones. 2‐[(1‐Acetyl‐2(or 3)‐methyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐1,5‐benzodiazepin‐4‐yl) sulfanyl]‐1‐phenylethanones as intermediates of the formation of thiazolo [3,2‐a][1,5]benzodiazepine and N‐substituted 2‐methyl‐1H‐benzimidazole derivatives have been synthesized. A new 2,2′‐bi‐1H‐benzimidazole bridging organic ligand, namely 1,1′‐bis(pyridin‐4‐ylmethyl)‐2,2′‐bi‐1H‐benzimidazole, C26H20N6, L or (I), has been synthesized and used to create three new one‐dimensional coordination polymers, viz.catena‐poly[[dichloridomercury(II)]‐μ‐1,1′‐bis(pyridin‐4‐ylmethyl)‐2,2′‐bi‐1H‐benzimidazole], [HgCl2(C26H20N6)]n, (II), and the bromido, [HgBr2(C26H20N6)]n, (III), and iodido, [HgI2(C26H20N6)]n, (IV), analogues. Free ligand L crystallizes with two symmetry‐independent half‐molecules in the asymmetric unit and each L molecule resides on a crytallographic inversion centre. In structures (II)–(IV), the L ligand is also positioned on a crystallographic inversion centre, whereas the Hg centre resides on a crystallographic twofold axis. Compound (I) adopts an anti conformation in the solid state and forms a two‐dimensional network in the crystallographic bc plane viaπ–π and C—H...π interactions. The three HgII coordination complexes, (II)–(IV), have one‐dimensional zigzag chains composed of L and HgX2 (X = Cl, Br and I), and the HgII centres are in a distorted tetrahedral [HgX2N2] coordination geometry. Complexes (III) and (IV) are isomorphous, whereas complex (II) displays an interesting conformational difference from the others, i.e. a twist in the flexible bridging ligand.  相似文献

The coordination polymers, {[Cu(Hbidc)(2, 2′‐bpy)(H2O)] · 2H2O}n ( 1 ) and {[Mn(Hbidc)(2, 2′‐bpy) (H2O)2] · 2H2O}n ( 2 ) (H3bidc = benzimidazole‐5, 6‐dicarboxylic acid, 2, 2′‐bpy = 2, 2′‐bipyridine), were synthesized in solution and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Complexes 1 and 2 consist of different 1D chain structures. In both compounds, 2, 2′‐bpy is chelating in a bidentate manner, whereas the Hbidc ligands in complexes 1 and 2 display chelating‐bridging tridentate and bridging bidentate coordination modes. The two complexes are further extended into 3D supramolecular structures through O–H ··· O and N–H ··· O hydrogen bonds. The thermal stabilities of complexes 1 and 2 were studied by thermogravimetric analyses (TGA).  相似文献

A series of novel (1H‐benzo[d]imidazole‐2‐yl)‐6‐(diethylamino)‐3H‐one‐xanthene, phenoxazine, and oxazine derivatives have been synthesized from 2‐(2′,4′‐dihydroxyphenyl) benzimidazole intermediate. Synthesized compounds 8a , 8b , 8c , 8d are fluorescent in solution, photophysical properties of compounds were studied and results revealed that compounds absorb and emit in UV–visible region with good fluorescence quantum yield. Synthesized compounds are thermally stable up to 300°C. The antibacterial activities of the synthesized compounds were studied by the well‐diffusion method. Escherichia coli (ATTC‐25922), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC‐25923), Micrococcus (ATCC‐4698), and Bacillus subtilis (ATCC‐55422) were used to investigate the antibacterial activities.  相似文献

A total of 13 of the 16 possible methylol derivatives of 2,4′‐ and 4,4′‐dihydroxydiphenylmethane have been synthesized, isolated, and identified. These compounds are found as intermediates in the cure process of resol phenol–formaldehyde (PF) resins. Analysis of the 13C NMR spectra (in acetone‐d6) of these compounds provided a way to evaluate the seven methylolphenol ring types (methylol derivatives of 2‐hydroxyphenyl and 4‐hydroxyphenyl rings) found in typical resol PF resins using the ipso carbon region from 150 to 160 ppm. A simple diagnostic test was developed using the chemical shift values of the methylol methylene carbon atoms to identify the presence of intermediates containing either a 2‐hydroxyphenyl or a 4‐hydroxyphenyl ring. Multiblock copolymers 1a (Mn = 31,500–47,400) of sulfonated poly(aryl ether)s were synthesized by polycondensation of 4,4′‐difluorobenzophenone (DFBP), bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)sulfone (BHPS), and an hydroxy‐terminated sulfonated oligomer, which was synthesized from DFBP and 2,2′,3,3′,5,5′‐hexaphenyl‐4,4′‐dihydroxybiphenyl a . The copolymerization of trimeric monomer b with DFBP and BHPS gave a series of copolymers 1b (Mn = 26,200–45,900). The copolymers were then sulfonated with chlorosulfonic acid to give ionomers 3a with hydrophilic multiblock segments and ionomers 3b with segments containing clusters of 18 sulfonic acid groups. The proton exchange membranes cast from ionomers 3a and 3b were characterized with regard to thermal stability, water uptake, proton conductivity, and morphology. Transmission electron microscopy images of 3a‐1 and 3b‐1 revealed a phase separation similar to that of Nafion that may explain their higher proton conductivities compared with randomly sulfonated copolymers. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
