Nous donnons une caractérisation des domaines DX pour lesquels la fonction extrémale relative *(,E,D) a la propriété de stabilité pour tout ED, i.e. lim k*(,E,D k )=*(,E,D), ED. We consider the nonparametric problem of multidimensional probability density estimate. Using concept of minimax risk with random normalizing factor introduced by Lepski [Math. Methods Statist. 8 (1999) 441–486], by considering an independence hypothesis, we build an estimator which can be adaptive and whose accuracy, depending on the observation, is better than the minimax estimate, n?β2β+d, with prescribed confidence level. In a recent preprint, George M. Bergman has investigated the following property:for any generating set X of the group G there exists an integer n such that any element of G is a product of n elements of XX?1. We will say in this case that G has the Bergman property.We have solved some of the questions asked in the above mentioned preprint and have found it suitable to investigate this property in a more general context, in particular for rings (essentially Boolean rings). Résumé On étudie la différentiabilité de la fonction croissance d'une variété riemannienne complète. En général, elle a la même régularité qu'une fonction concave: la dérivée peut avoir des sauts pour lesquels on donne une formule. Dans le cas analytique réel, la fonction croissance est de classeC 1. Un exemple montre qu'elle n'est pas nécessairementC 2. A titre d'application, nous construisons, pour toute variété ouverte paracompacteM et toute fonction croissantev de classeC 1, une métrique continue de croissance égale àv et une métrique de classeC surM de croissance proche dev en topologieC 1-fine.

The theorem of linearity of the Artin–Tits groups of spherical type and the theorem of injectivity of any Artin–Tits monoid in its group are essentially based on the faithfulness of the Lawrence–Krammer–Paris representation restricted to the monoid. We prove this faithfulness using neither the normal forms of the elements of the monoid nor the closed subsets of the associated root system; only very elementary notions are needed.  相似文献

We announced in [6] equivalences between derived categories of sheaves and of D-modules on %plane1D;53E; and %plane1D;53E; defined by the integral transforms associated to Ω. We show here that these transforms exchange the D-modules associated to the holomorphic line bundles on %plane1D;53E; and %plane1D;53E;*. This is equivalent to “quantizing” the underlying contact transformation between certain open dense subsets of the cotangent bundles. We prove that the best constant in the Sobolev inequality (H1pLp* with 1/p* = 1/p − 1/n and 1 < p < n) is achieved on compact Riemannian manifolds, or only complete under some hypotheses. We investigate the approximations of a real x by continued fractions. The reals will be interpreted as periods of certain functions. For a step ɛ > 0, we represent the compressed graph (nɛ. (ƒ(n)))nε N of (n, (ƒ(n)))nε N where ƒ is periodic. The positions of the points of the graph provides us information about the approximations of the period by rationah: we obtain either unions of quasi-curves nothing is known about their functionality, or a strip of points. We give an equivalence between the functionality of these quasi-curves and the membership of the inverse of the period to an ɛ-halo of a convergent of the period. We present our proofs within the framework of Non Standard Analysis.  相似文献
