A periodic array of δ function potentials are used to simulate the potential barriers between quantum wires in the presence or absence of lattice site dislocation. The exact eigenenergies and eigenfunctions are found by employing a numerical diagonalization procedure. Based on these results, a self-consistent field theory is derived for the mid-infrared absorption coefficient of the system. The crossover from a cyclotron mode to two tunneling coupled modes and finally to edge and 1D lattice magnetoplasmon modes with increasing modulation strength is investigated. The magnetic field enhanced and suppressed electron tunneling, associated with the evolution to cyclotron modes at strong magnetic fields passing through the formation of tunneling coupled modes, is observed. The edge mode excitation energy oscillates as a function of the electron density. These oscillations correspond to a soft or hard potential wall for which the electron states are extended or localized, respectively. The displacement of the 1D lattice magnetoplasmon modes under strong modulation is found to be periodic and corresponds to the evolution from a complex unit cell which is composed of one narrow and one wide quantum wire to a simple unit cell containing only one quantum wire. The magnetoresistivities and the associated conductivities are also calculated for the lateral surface superlattice. At strong potential modulation there is a giant peak in the Hall conductivity and many peaks in its resistivity in the quantum regime. With strong modulation, the suppression of the transverse conductivity along with oscillations in its resistivity are obtained.  相似文献

We have studied the tunneling of Dirac fermions through magnetic barriers in graphene. Magnetic barriers are produced via delta function-like inhomogeneous magnetic fields in which Dirac fermions in graphene experience the tunneling barrier in the real sense in contrast to Klein paradox caused by electrostatic barriers. The transmission through the magnetic barriers as functions of incident energy and angle of incoming fermions shows characteristic oscillations associated with tunneling resonances. We have also found the confined states in the magnetic barrier region which turn out to correspond to the total internal reflection in the usual optics.  相似文献

We present an analytical method to obtain an expression for electron transmission through an array of disordered nanorings (ADNRs) sandwiched between two semi-infinite metallic leads in different lead-ring coupling strengths. Our approach is based on the nearest-neighbor tight-binding approximation and transfer matrix method. First, we derive an analytical formula for electron transmission across the system. Next, we apply our approach to study of the electron transport in a perfect double nanoring (PDNR) and design a NOR gate using the magnetic fluxes inputs. The conductance, current–voltage characteristics and threshold voltage of the system are calculated in the weak and strong coupling regimes.  相似文献

The interlayer magnetotransport of a model layered metal is calculated semiclassically. Each layer contains parallel quasi-1D wires but the orientation of wires within each layer is perpendicular to the orientation of wires in adjacent layers. The model has a highly anisotropic amplitude for interlayer electron transfer and is used to illustrate simply the effects that this anisotropy has on the magnetotransport. Strong positive magnetoresistance is calculated for magnetic fields parallel to the current, with the size of magnetoresistance varying inversely with the interlayer hopping amplitude. For fields perpendicular to the current, the magnetoresistance depends qualitatively on the orientation of the field: it scales linearly with the field strength B when the field points toward intersections of 1D Fermi surfaces belonging to individual layers, and scales as √B when the field points between intersections. In a weak field, the resistance is maximum when the field is orientated parallel to the current and minimum when it is perpendicular to the current. Magnetoresistance oscillations are also studied. The implications for more general models of multilayer metals are discussed.  相似文献

The paper deals with the studies of current instability in the inhomogeneous plasma resulting in excitation of short-wave drift oscillations with a frequency near the low-hybrid resonance.It is shown that the saturation of such an instability is associated with the spectral pumping of oscillations into the short-wave region that occurs due to the modulation instability; and maximum amplitudes of the electrical fields of oscillations are determined. The effective frequency of electron collisions due to current instability is calculated. It is indicated that the diffusion model of the Parker-Sweet magnetic field reconnection modified taking into account the anomalous resistance mechanism studied here leads to the estimate of the magnetopause width being in satisfactory agreement with the experiment.  相似文献

采用海森堡-朗之万方法理论研究了Tripod型双电磁诱导透明原子系统中压缩态探针场的传输特性.研究结果表明:通过双透明窗口压缩光可实现双通道传输,且每个通道可以被独立操控;当两束耦合场的频率失谐相等时,输出探针场的压缩度可以得到更好的保持.此外,输出探针场的压缩度可以通过耦合场的拉比频率、原子的光学厚度和基态退相干率以及探测频率来操控.该研究结果为进一步优化多通道量子存储提供依据.  相似文献

We present novel resonant phenomena through parallel non-coupled double quantum dots (QDs) embedded in each arm of an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) ring with magnetic flux passing through its center. The electron transmission through this AB ring with each QD formed by two short-range potential barriers is calculated using a scattering matrix at each junction and a transfer matrix in each arm. We show that as the magnetic flux modulates, a distortion of the grid-like square transmission occurs and an anti-crossing of the resonances appears. Hence, the modulation of magnetic flux in this system can have an equivalent effect to the control of inter-dot coupling between the two QDs.  相似文献

An overview is given on the Rashba effect in GaxIn1-xAs/InP quantum wires. First, the effect of Rashba spin–orbit coupling on the energy level spectrum of quantum wires with different shapes of the confining potential is theoretically investigated. The wave functions as well as the spin densities in the quantum wire are analyzed for different magnetic fields. It is found that, owing to the additional geometrical confinement, a modification of the characteristic beating pattern in the magnetoresistance can be expected. The theoretical findings are compared to measurements on two different types of wires: First, single wires and, second, sets of parallel wires. A characteristic beating pattern in the Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations is observed for wires with an effective width down to approximately 400 nm. The beating pattern is significantly better resolved for the samples with sets of parallel wires, owing to the effective suppression of conductance fluctuations. A comparison with theoretical simulations confirms that the strength of the Rashba effect is basically not affected by the geometrical confinement of the wires. However, for wires with a very small effective width the strong carrier confinement leads to a suppression of the characteristic beating pattern in the Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations. Microwave-induced magnetic field oscillations of the electromotive force are observed at large filling factors in two-dimensional Corbino disks fabricated on the basis of GaAs/AlAs heterostructures. It is shown that these oscillations of the electromotive force are periodic in the inverse magnetic field and are in antiphase with oscillations of microwave photoconductivity. The experimental data are explained by the inhomogeneous distribution of the microwave field between the coaxial metal contacts to the two-dimensional electron system.  相似文献

The physical mechanisms leading to the chaotization of the virtual cathode oscillations in a low-voltage vircator system at an increase in the amplitude of the external inhomogeneous magnetic field created by a ring magnet have been studied within a two-dimensional numerical model. It has been established that the chaotization of the virtual cathode oscillations in a strongly inhomogeneous external magnetic field is due to the formation of the secondary electronic structure (electron beam) in the electron flow resulting from the magnetic trap in the outer layers of the electron beam.  相似文献

提出了一种新的采用载流导线的表面双磁光阱(MOT)方案(即双U型导线磁光阱方案)。通过改变中间U型导线中的电流大小,即可将一个双磁阱连续地合并为一个单磁阱,反之亦然。详细计算和分析了上述双U型载流导线磁光阱方案的磁场及其梯度的空间分布,研究发现当导线中的电流为600 A,z方向均匀偏置磁感应强度为-4.0×10-3 T时,双U型导线方案产生的两个磁阱中心的磁场梯度约为1.5×10-3~2.5×10-3 T/cm,结合通常制备磁光阱时所用的三维粘胶(Molasses)光束即可在基底表面附近形成一双磁光阱。理论分析表明在弱光近似下,每个磁光阱中所能俘获的85Rb原子数约为106 量级,相应的磁光阱温度约为270μK。由于双磁光阱可以独立制备,所以双U型导线方案特别适用于制备双样品磁光阱,并用于研究双原子样品的冷碰撞性质。  相似文献

The development of oscillations of the space charge and potential in the adiabatic trap of a gyrotron between the cathode and the cavity is studied numerically. The PIC method is applied, with the real two-dimensional distributions of the electric and magnetic fields taken into account. Secondary emission is included into the numerical model, as well as such factors as the electron beam space charge, thermal velocities of electrons, and emitter roughness. The value of the trapped space charge as a function of time is calculated. Time dependences of the potential in various cross-sections of the formation system are traced. The amplitudes of its variable component have been found and then the corresponding frequency spectra have been calculated. The process of cathode bombardment is investigated. The energy distribution and time dependence of the current in the electron beam coming to the operating space are found. Some ways to reduce the oscillations of the potential and the space charge are discussed.  相似文献

Magnetoresistance measurements have been performed in narrow GaAs/AlGaAs wires in order to study the scattering process in mesoscopic wires. Amplitude analysis of the Shubnikov -de Haas oscillations shows that electrons have two scattering times, depending upon the magnetic field range. The critical field which separates these scattering times seems to be determined by the relation between the wire width and the electron cyclotron radius. This effect is discussed in terms of the electron trajectories in a wire under the magnetic field.  相似文献

通过解析方法研究了高温等离子体的太赫兹波传输特性.研究发现,高温等离子体对太赫兹波高频频段透过率较高,表现为通带;对低频频段透过率较低,表现为阻带.这与冷等离子体中电磁波的传输特性是一致的.但其透射率还受到温度与磁场的影响,当改变高温等离子体的电子温度与磁场时,在阻带内会产生一尖锐的透射峰.这种现象在冷等离子体模型中从来没有出现过.本文主要对电子温度和外加磁场两个影响因素进行讨论.研究发现,禁带内出现的透射峰频率受磁场影响,而峰值幅度受温度影响.计算得到了不同外加磁场条件下产生高透过率(透射率约为1)时的电子温度.基于该结果进一步研究了透射峰出现的规律,并通过曲线拟合的方法得到了透射峰频率所遵循的计算公式.数值结果表明透射峰频率与外磁场之间为正比例函数关系,而峰值电子温度取值与外磁场的关系表现为指数规律.最后对拟合得到的方程采用时域有限差分法进行了验证,数值结果与解析解符合较好,证明了该研究的正确性.  相似文献

Thermal entanglement is investigated in a two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ system with different inhomogeneous magnetic fields. It is found that different magnetic fields have different entanglement and critical values. In addition, according to the relation of spin-spin coupling coefficients, a more efficient control parameter of magnetic field can be obtained by adjusting the direction of external magnetic field.  相似文献

研究了恒电位下两个铜线电极在磷酸溶液中的电流混沌振荡行为 ,通过恒定不同的电位数值 ,改变单个电极的电流振荡混沌行为 ,研究了不同混沌间的相互作用 .调整线电极间的距离 ,研究了电极间距对电流振荡行为的影响 .实验中两电极的振荡间呈现了复杂的耦合作用 ,耦合后的频率与耦合前电极原有的频率不同 .两电极的混沌电流振荡中呈现出同步、准周期同步和反相同步等现象 .电极距离一定时 ,振荡波形差别很大的两电极的电流容易呈现反相同步和准周期同步 ,波形差别不大时容易产生同步 .强的耦合导致电极间电流振荡的同步 ,电极距离的加大 ,电极间电流振荡难以产生同步 .对耦合作用机制也进行了探讨  相似文献

The electron absorption coefficient has been calculated for the Rayleigh waves in a metal, with the magnetic field parallel to the boundary. Reflection of electrons from the metal surface is assumed to diffuse. For high magnetic fields the shape and width of the absorption lines have been investigated as well as maximum values of the attenuation. For low fields oscillations of the geometric and cyclotron resonance type are predicted.  相似文献

The electron energy spectrum and wave functions for a quasi-one-dimensional channel with Rashba spin-orbit coupling are calculated. The dynamics of wave packets in thin wires based on GaAs/In0.23Ga0.77As and AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructures with Rashba spin-orbit coupling are studied. Spin polarizations are found. The effect of splitting of wave packets with respect to their centers of mass and Zitterbewegung of their centers are discovered. The characteristics of wave-packet oscillations and spin density for free electrons and under confinement conditions are compared. A method for controlling the conductance of the quasi-one-dimensional channel using a controlling electrode is proposed.  相似文献

The average densities of currents and charges induced by a weak electromagnetic field in spatially inhomogeneous systems at a finite temperature are calculated. The Kubo formula for the electrical conductivity tensor is generalized to spatially inhomogeneous systems and spatially inhomogeneous fields. The contributions containing electric fields and derivatives of the fields with respect to coordinates are separated. It is shown that semiconductor quantum wells, wires, and dots can be treated as spatially inhomogeneous systems.  相似文献
