The first direct measurement of the mutual coherence function of a spatially incoherent infrared beam was performed at 10.6 μm using a pair of infrared dipole nano-wire antennas that were connected to a common bolometer in the center of the pair by short lengths of coplanar strip transmission line. A spatially incoherent source was constructed by dithering a BaF2 diffuser near the focus of a CO2 laser beam. The distance from the diffuser to the nano-wire antenna pair was held constant while the distance from the focus of the laser beam to the diffuser was varied to control the effective diameter of the source. The measured bolometer signal was proportional to the magnitude of the mutual coherence function at the plane of the antennas. The experimental results were found to match the predicted performance closely. If this technology can be extended to large arrays, a form of synthetic aperture optical imaging based on the Van Cittert-Zernike theorem is possible, similar to that performed at microwave frequencies now by astronomers. This has the potential to greatly increase the angular resolution attainable with optical instruments.  相似文献

随着高性能第三代同步辐射光源的建成开放,基于X射线相干特性的实验方法得到了快速发展和广泛应用.作为一个典型的例子,X射线相位衬度成像已经成为常规的X射线实验方法并向用户开放.相干散射、相干衍射成像、光子关联谱等X射线实验方法正日益受到重视,在高空间分辨、时间分辨等研究领域已显示出其独特的优越性.因此,研究和测量第三代同步辐射的空间相干特性对进一步发展这些新的实验方法具有重要意义.基于Talbot自成像原理成功测量了上海光源X射线成像线站发射的X射线的空间相干长度,并进而测得了相应光源的空间尺度.光子能量为33.2 keV时,测得的X射线光束垂直方向空间相干长度为8.84μm,对应的光源尺寸为23μm,测量结果与理论分析相符.  相似文献

通过解析分析和数值模拟,比较了钛K线(4.5 keV)与铜K线(8.0 keV)等X射线源背光透视物体情况下,菲涅耳波带板直接成像与投影式相衬成像对被透视物体的空间分辨能力。结果表明,波带板成像可实现优于1 m的高空间分辨能力,而且使用较大尺度背光源更有利于成像。对于高透射或弱吸收的透视物体,波带板难以成像,可采用投影式相衬成像实现m级空间分辨。计入了以前文献没有考虑到的更高阶影响后,解析给出了点光源照射下相衬像的强度分布与对比度。模拟了微焦点X射线源照射存在厚度起伏的薄膜靶以及密度空间调制靶的相衬成像,点光源情况下模拟结果和解析结果相符。讨论了光源大小、成像距离等参数对相衬成像对比度和空间分辨能力的影响,结果表明,通过减小光源尺度和调节物体到探测面的距离,空间分辨能力可优化到1~4 m。  相似文献

Based on the 2 × 2 cross-spectral density matrix, the van Cittert-Zernike extended theorem is developed for the completely polarized incoherent beams propagation through the paraxial non-Kolmogorov turbulence. On the consequence of the extended theorem and the definition of general spectral degree of cross-polarization of a beam, we found that the spectral degree of cross-polarization of the resultant field is independent of the refractive index structure constant of atmospheric turbulence. We investigated the influences of the propagation distance and the distance of two detection points on the degree of coherence and the spectral degree of cross-polarization.  相似文献

为了克服在数字全息术中激光源高相干度造成的散斑噪声降低成像质量问题,论文提出将石英退偏器与电控液晶散射片相结合用于数字全息术中。通过在物光路中加入一个石英退偏器,利用退偏器的退偏性能使物光光路中的线偏光变成随机偏振光,降低与参考光的相干程度,实现对散斑噪声的抑制;通过给液晶散射片外加电场可以引起液晶分子的运动和光轴取向改变,调整液晶驱动电压大小来改变入射光的不同散射效果,有效地降低了光源的相干性;分别将单独采用石英退偏器和电控液晶散射片的重建图像与组合装置的重建图像进行对比分析,通过实验验证了所提方法的有效性。实验结果表明:两种实验对象在组合装置下的重建像峰值信噪比分别达到16.91和18.30,结构相似度为0.47和0.43,等效视数较原始重建像提高了42%和30%,散斑指数为1.52和1.29。论文提出的方法可较好地去除散斑噪声,保留更多的图像细节部分。  相似文献

Synchrotron photon-based methods are increasingly being used for the physico-chemical study of ancient and historical materials (archaeology, palaeontology, conservation sciences, palaeo-environments). In particular, parameters such as the high photon flux, the small source size and the low divergence attained at the synchrotron make it a very efficient source for a range of advanced spectroscopy and imaging techniques, adapted to the heterogeneity and great complexity of the materials under study. The continuous tunability of the source — its very extended energy distribution over wide energy domains (meV to keV) with a high intensity — is an essential parameter for techniques based on a very fine tuning of the probing energy to reach high chemical sensitivity such as XANES, EXAFS, STXM, UV/VIS spectrometry, etc. The small source size attained (a few micrometres) at least in the vertical plane leads to spatial coherence of the photon beams, giving rise in turn to a series of imaging methods already crucial to the field. This review of the existing literature shows that microfocused hard X-ray spectroscopy (absorption, fluorescence, diffraction), full-field X-ray tomography and infrared spectroscopy are the leading synchrotron techniques in the field, and presents illustrative examples of the study of ancient and historical materials for the various methods. Fast developing analytical modalities in scanning spectroscopy (STXM, macro-XRF scanning) and novel analytical strategies regarding optics, detectors and other instrumental developments are expected to provide major contributions in the years to come. Other energy domains are increasingly being used or considered such as far-infrared and ultraviolet/visible for spectroscopy and imaging. We discuss the main instrumental developments and perspectives, and their impact for the science being made on ancient materials using synchrotron techniques.  相似文献

由湍流大气中斜程传输时准单色高斯-谢尔(GSM)光束互相干函数的解析式导出了该光束的复相干度.然后,利用表征光束空间相干性的横向相干长度,研究了斜程传输时大气湍流对准单色GSM光束空间相干性的影响.研究结果表明:1)当传输路径偏离水平方向较大(即θ≤88°)时,准单色GSM光束横向相干长度随传输距离均为先迅速增加,后缓慢增加,最后基本保持不变.2)当传输路径接近水平方向(即θ≥89°)时,准单色GSM光束横向相干长度随传输距离均为先增大,达到一个最大值后开始下降并持续减小.3) 关键词: 大气光学 空间相干性 高斯-谢尔光束 斜程传输  相似文献

为解决普通X射线源光通量和空间相干性的矛盾,本文提出一种焦斑为线状的新型X射线源.理论上,本文所提的射线焦斑为理想的线,沿线方向上提供高通量光子;垂直线方向光源为空间相干光,可为系统提供高分辨率图像.沿着线方向上,图像会损失细节,为补偿该方向上图像的损失,利用旋转叠加的方法,重构出高分辨率图像.在频率域,分析了旋转叠加空间频率传递函数值的分布特性,其结果表明:相对单个图像,频率传递函数在频域的各个方向,传递函数特性有大幅度提高,从而可以传递图像高空间频率成分.基于普通X射线管,实现了该种射线源,并利用实验验证了该方法的有效性.  相似文献

We formulate and evaluate in terms of graphical outputs, source and receiver plane expressions, the complex degree of coherence, beam size variation and power in bucket performance for higher order partially coherent dark hollow beams propagating in turbulent atmosphere. Our formulation is able to cover square, rectangular, circular, elliptical geometries for dark hollow and flat-topped beams in one single expression. From the graphical outputs of the receiver plane, it is observed that higher order partially coherent dark hollow beams will initially develop an outer ring around a central lobe, but will eventually evolve towards a Gaussian shape as the propagation distance is extended. It is further observed that stronger turbulence levels and greater partial coherence have similar effects on beam profile. During propagation, modulus of complex degree of coherence of partially coherent dark hollow beams appears to rise above that of the source plane values, reaching as high as near unity. Beam size analysis shows that, among the types examined, (nearly) flat-topped beam experiences the least beam expansion. Power in bucket analysis indicates that lowest order square fully coherent dark beam offers the best power capturing.  相似文献

Spinel ferrite NiFe2O4 nanoparticles (?25 nm) in SiO2 matrix were prepared by sol–gel method. The phase and average crystallite size of the samples were determined by X-ray diffraction method and the particle size distributions were studied by a transmission electron microscope. Magnetic properties of the samples were investigated with different ferrite particle sizes and at various temperatures down to 10 K. Superparamagnetic properties were observed at room temperature when the particle size is less than 10 nm.In superparamagnetic state, the field dependence of magnetization follows Langevin function which was originally developed for paramagnetism. The effective anisotropy constant Keff is found to increase significantly with the decrease in particle volume and an order of magnitude higher than that of the bulk samples when the particle size is below 5 nm due to the dominance of surface anisotropy. In case of nanosized systems, the effect of size reduction on the law of approach to saturation has also been studied in detail.  相似文献

 相衬成像方法利用硬X射线对低密度弱吸收物质成像,可获得高衬度图像。用菲涅尔衍射理论分析了X射线图像的形成机理。在频域中根据光学传递函数,对物像距离、样品空间频率等对图像相位衬度的影响进行了分析。分辨率和衬度是决定图像可见度的两个依据,分辨率主要依赖于光源的空间相干性,空间相干性又决定于源点尺寸,而时间相干性(单色性)是一个不重要的影响因子。利用多色微焦点源实现了X射线相衬成像技术,获得了有价值的相衬图像,如低原子序数低密度泡沫材料的硬X射线相衬图像,与吸收衬度成像相比,其图像质量得到了很大提高,能观察到泡沫材料的细微结构,分辨率可达μm量级。  相似文献

It is shown that the polarized bremsstrahlung (PB) emitted upon the scattering of a relativistic charged particle’s Coulomb field by atomic electrons yields direct information on the electronic structure of a medium. Indeed, in the X-ray photon energy range 1–10 keV, PB exhibits collective features and the PB intensity sharply increases. At higher photon energies, the coherence of shell electrons rapidly collapses, which is accompanied by a drastic decrease in the PB intensity; hence, the position of the PB spectrum kink allows estimation of the atomic size.  相似文献

A new type of rotating anticathode X-ray generator, where an electron beam of up to 60 keV irradiates the inner surface of a U-shaped Cu anticathode, has achieved a beam brilliance of 130 kW mm(-2) (at 2.3 kW). A higher-flux electron beam is expected from simulation by optimizing the geometry of a combined-function-type magnet instead of the fringing field of the bending magnet. In order to minimize the size of the X-ray source the electron beam has been focused over a short distance by a new combined-function bending magnet, whose geometrical shape was determined by simulation using the Opera-3D, General Particle Tracer and CST-STUDIO codes. The result of the simulation clearly shows that the role of combined functions in both the bending and the steering magnets is important for focusing the beam to a small size. FWHM sizes of the beam are predicted by simulation to be 0.45 mm (horizontal) and 0.05 mm (vertical) for a 120 keV/75 mA beam, of which the effective brilliance is about 500 kW mm(-2) on the supposition of a two-dimensional Gaussian distribution. High-power tests have begun using a high-voltage 120 kV/75 mA power supply for the X-ray generator instead of 60 kV/100 mA. The beam focus size on the target will be verified in the experiments.  相似文献

相干X射线衍射成像方法是一种先进的成像技术,分辨率可达纳米量级.国际上大多数的同步辐射装置和自由电子激光装置都建立了该成像方法,并有将其作为主要成像技术的趋势.上海光源作为目前国内唯一的一台第三代同步辐射光源,尚未建立基于硬X射线的相干衍射成像实验平台.随着一批以波荡器为光源的光束线站投入使用,使得该方法的建立成为了可能.本文基于上海光源BL19U2生物小角散射线站,通过有效的光路设计,搭建了相干衍射实验平台,在12 keV和13.5 keV能量点均获得了硬X射线相干光束,并基于小孔衍射测量了入射光束的空间相干长度.该平台支持常规和扫描相干衍射实验模式,对小孔衍射图样及波带片扫描衍射图样实现了正确的相位重建,证明了该平台初步具备开展硬X射线相干衍射成像实验的能力.硬X射线相干衍射成像实验平台为国内首次建立,将为国内该实验方法的发展和应用提供有效的软硬件支持.  相似文献

We report on the measurement of the highest purity of polarization of X-rays to date. The measurements are performed by combining a brilliant undulator source with an X-ray polarimeter. The polarimeter is composed of a polarizer and an analyzer, each based on four reflections at channel-cut crystals with a Bragg angle very close to 45°. Experiments were performed at three different X-ray energies, using different Bragg reflections: Si(400) at 6457.0 eV, Si(444) at 11,183.8 eV, and Si(800) at 12,914.0 eV. At 6 keV a polarization purity of 1.5 × 10− 9 is achieved. This is an improvement by more than two orders of magnitude as compared to previously reported values. The polarization purity decreases slightly for shorter X-ray wavelengths. The sensitivity of the polarimeter is discussed with respect to a proposed experiment that aims at the detection of the birefringence of vacuum induced by super-strong laser fields.  相似文献

The imaging properties of a Fresnel zone-plate (FZP) were used for magnified imaging of microobjects using hard X-rays. The experiments were done using 14 keV synchrotron radiation. The coherence properties of the radiation produced by an undulator allowed the recording of real images and holograms from an object in one single exposure. These images result from the positive and the negative first order diffracted beams respectively. The X-ray microscope worked at an X-ray magnification factor of 12 and could resolve structures of 0.3 μm in size. By going to slightly defocused conditions we obtained magnified images of the holographical nearfield diffraction pattern (in-line holograms) of the object.  相似文献

在惯性约束核聚变研究中,为了实现1μm高空间分辨keV-X射线成像,文中发展了菲涅耳波带板(FZP)直接成像的分析方法,并通过数值计算研究了FZP的成像特性.针对钛Kα线(光子能量4.51 keV,波长0.275 nm),提出了FZP参数,对制作技术的要求较低.研究了靶尺度的影响.FZP的有效视场使它能够对数毫米大尺度靶实现高分辨成像.还研究了入射光的光谱带宽对成像的影响.FZP的色差有助于单色成像,但是带宽超过限度会导致像的反衬度降低.这些结果表明FZP应用于聚变点火靶的高空间分辨X射线成像的能力,也为应用提出了要求. 关键词: X射线成像 惯性约束核聚变 菲涅耳波带板  相似文献

Photoemission spectroscopy at high energies can be used to probe bulk electronic states. We used a specially designed high-voltage retarding lens and a commercial Perkin-Elmer PHI 10-360 hemispherical electron analyzer to investigate the core and valence band region of Au, YBa2Cu3O7−δ and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite samples with hard X-rays in the energy range 5-14.5 keV. The overall instrumental resolution obtained at 8 keV was 218 meV. The photo ionization cross-sections for Au 5d and 6s excitations were determined experimentally. In comparison with published calculations for atomic cross-sections neglecting corrections for angular anisotropy, the values we find are twice as large for the 5d and an order of magnitude larger for the 6s (conduction band) level. Our results demonstrate the feasibility of bulk sensitive valence band spectroscopy with high resolution at high brilliance X-ray sources such as the ESRF. The measured cross-sections provide important input for improving current theoretical models.  相似文献

1D and 2D spatial distributions of a complex degree of coherence are obtained using numerical simulation for the broadband dispersed laser beams. The configuration of the spatial inhomogeneities (speck-les) of the degree of coherence is studied at various spectral widths and dispersions of the beam. It is shown that the speckle size increases with increasing distance from the initial plane where the light field is assumed to be spatially coherent. The small- and large-scale structures of the degree of coherence are shown for the transverse cross section of the beam. The results are compared with the analytically calculated correlation functions of the spatial coherence. The features of the speckle structure are interpreted using the concept of partial speckles.  相似文献

A basic formula is derived for the spectrum of the field generated by a planar source of any state of spatial coherence. The formula shows clearly the contribution due to diffraction and due to source correlations. The distinction between these two contributions has not been appreciated in some previous publications. Examples are presented illustrating the effect of source correlations on the spectrum of the far field. A brief preliminary account is also presented of a recent investigation by H. Chen and E. Wolf which has shown that it is possible to produce a source whose degree of coherence will act on the spectrum of the source as a low-pass filter with a sharp frequency cut-off.Dedicated to H.
