Spin-polarized density functional theory calculation is employed to study the adsorption and dissociation of NO2 molecule on Cu(1 1 1) surface. It is shown that the most favorable adsorption structure is the NO2 (T,T-O-,O′-nitrito) configuration which has an adsorption energy of −1.49 eV. The barriers for step-wise NO2 dissociation reaction, NO2(g) → N(a) + 2O(a), are 1.05 (for O–N–O bond activation), and 2.08 eV (for N–O bond activation), respectively, and the entire process is 0.6 eV exothermic. The energetics of single N–O dissociation with and without the presence of N atom or O atom on the surface are also calculated. The results indicate that in the presence of O atom on Cu(1 1 1) surface would raise the N–O dissociation barrier, whereas in the presence of N atom decrease it. The interaction nature between adsorbates and substrate is analyzed by the local density of states (LDOS) calculation.  相似文献

We examine in this paper the associative desorption of two hydrogen atoms on a slab model that mimics a C(0 0 0 1) surface. Initially the two separated H atoms are physisorbed onto the graphene surface, then diffuse and recombine and H2 gets desorbed into the gas phase. We use density functional theory (DFT) on a supercell model and apply periodic boundaries to build a potential energy surface (PES). The reaction is barrier less and exhibits a small H2 vdW well on the global potential energy surface. We employ a two-dimensional quantum dynamics method exploiting the hyperspherical coordinates and report reaction probabilities for this mechanism. The calculations are performed for collision energies ranging from 1 to 15 meV relevant to the interstellar medium (ISM). The entrance channel dominates the reaction and the vibrational excitation of the desorbed H2 is important and peaked at v′ = 8.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations (MD) and Embedded Atom Method (EAM) potentials are employed to investigate the properties of small Ag clusters deposited on the (111) surface of Pt. The computation of the dissociation energies reveals the most stable structures up to 19 atoms, while MD simulations allow to extract the dynamical diffusion barrier for adatom, dimer and trimer. We obtain dissociation energies in the range of 0.3 eV for the trimer and 0.45 eV for the heptamer and a migration energy as low as 0.05 eV for the adatom.  相似文献

A computational study of the adsorption and diffusion behavior of alkali and alkaline earth metal atoms on a phosphorene monolayer is reported. Our calculations were performed within the framework of density functional theory using the Perdew–Burke–Ernzerhof functional and projector augmented wave potentials, as derived from the generalized gradient approximation. Our binding energy calculations for various potential adsorption sites showed that the site located above the center of a triangle formed by three surface phosphorus atoms is the most attractive to all adatoms. In addition, simulation of the diffusion of adatoms across the surface of the phosphorene monolayer showed that the diffusion is anisotropic, with K having the lowest diffusion barrier (0.02 eV along the zigzag pathway). To the best of our knowledge, this is the lowest diffusion barrier of any metal adatom on a single layer of phosphorene. While phosphorene exhibited significantly better adatom adsorption and diffusion than graphene, it also showed a reduced storage capacity compared to graphene, most probably due to the structural distortion induced by the oversaturated phosphorene surface. This finding strongly suggests that a phosphorene–graphene hybrid system could be employed as a promising high-capacity ion anode.  相似文献

The density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP method is used to theoretically investigate the interaction of O2 with the β-Si3N4 surface (0 0 0 1) at 1200 °C. All the calculations have been performed at the 6-31G basis set level using H-saturated cluster. From the total energy minimization, the chemisorption on the center of the molecule lying above an Si site and the molecular axis paralleling to the surface is the most stable. After adsorption, the O–O bond is easier to dissociate compared to the free O2. The electron transferred from the substrate to the O2 molecule occupies the O2 anti-bonding orbital, thus leading to a weakening off the bond strength, which is reflected by the elongated O2 bond length. The changing trend of the O–O population and vibrational frequency is consistent with the change of the O–O bond length. The significant chemisorption energy and the short adsorption bond length indicate that the oxidation occurs on the β-Si3N4(0 0 0 1) surface at 1200 °C more easily.  相似文献

The formation of Pd dimers on the surface of MgO has been studied by means of density functional theory (DFT) cluster model calculations. The following surface sites have been considered: regular five-coordinated anions at the (1 0 0) terraces, monoatomic steps, OH groups, and neutral vacancies (F centers). We discuss the energy balance of forming a dimer at a given site with respect to two isolated Pd atoms, one adsorbed at the defect and one on a regular terrace site. We found that all the defects considered lead to an energy gain when the dimer is formed, suggesting that they can be involved in nucleation and growth processes of metal clusters on the MgO surface. The dimerization energy is moderate for steps (≈0.8 eV), large for OH groups (≈1.3 eV) and rather small (<0.5 eV) for F centers.  相似文献

A vicinal dioxime ligand with two 2-benzimidazolylmethyl groups, namely SS′-bis(2-benzimidazolylmethyl) dithioglyoxine (H2L) and its axially pyridine and 2,6-dimethyl pyridine bonded Co(III) complexes were prepared according to prior literature [Y. Gök, S.Z. Y?ld?z, Synth. React. Inorg. Met-Org. Chem. 22 (9) (1992) 1327]. BF2+ bridged Co(III) complexes have been synthesized via the hydrogen-bridged Co(III) complexes by using borontrifloride ethyl ether complex. Heterotrinuclear complexes have been prepared by the reaction of these more soluble BF2-capped Co(III) complexes with stoichiometric amount of CdCl2 · H2O and NiCl2 · 6H2O salts. Using 1H, 13C NMR, IR and MS spectral data and elemental analysis, the structures of the complexes were identified. Qualitative and quantitative determination of Co, Ni and Cd contents of the heterotrinuclear complexes have been investigated by energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) method. An annular 50 mCi 241Am radioactive source emitting 59.543 keV photons was used for excitation and Si(Li) detector having 157 eV FWHM at 5.9 keV was used for intensity measurements.  相似文献

(Solid + liquid) phase diagrams, SLE have been determined for (octan-1-ol, or nonan-1-ol, or decan-1-ol, or undecan-1-ol + benzonitrile) and for (hexylamine, or octylamine, or decylamine, or 1,3-diaminopropane + benzonitrile) using a cryometric dynamic method at atmospheric pressure. Simple eutectic systems with complete immiscibility in the solid phase and complete miscibility on the liquid phase have been observed. The solubility decreases with an increase of the number of carbon atoms in the alkan-1-ol, or amine chain. The temperature of the eutectic points increases and shifts to lower alkan-1-ol, or amine mole fractions as the alkyl chain length of the alkan-1-ol, or amine increases. The higher intermolecular interaction was observed for the (alkan-1-ol + benzonitrile) systems.  相似文献

The influence of group 15 various substituents and effect of metal centers on metal-borane interactions and structural isomers of transition metal-borane complexes W(CO)5(BH3 · AH3) and M(CO)5(BH3 · PH3) (A = N, P, As, and Sb; M = Cr, Mo, and W), were investigated by pure density functional theory at BP86 level. The following results were observed: (a) the ground state is monodentate, η1, with C1 point group; (b) in all complexes, the η1 isomer with CS symmetry on potential energy surface is the transition state for oscillating borane; (c) the η2 isomer is the transition state for the hydrogens interchange mechanism; (d) in W(CO)5(BH3 · AH3), the degree of pyramidalization at boron, interaction energy as well as charge transfer between metal and boron moieties, energy barrier for interchanging hydrogens, and diffuseness of A increase along the series A = Sb < As < P < N; (e) in M(CO)5(BH3 · PH3), interaction energy is ordered as M = W > Cr > Mo, while energy barrier for interchanging hydrogens decreases in the order of M = Cr > W > Mo.  相似文献

We have carried out quasi-classical trajectory calculations for the title reaction. The effect of initial ro-vibratioanl state of HCl on the stereodynamics of O(3P) + HCl → OH + Cl reaction on 3A″ potential energy surface was investigated. Integral cross sections, product ro-vibrational state distributions, differential cross sections, and three angle distribution functions about the products alignment and orientation have been presented. The results manifest that the vibrational excitation has a larger influence on the total cross section, differential cross section, angle distributions (concerning the initial/final velocity vector, and the product rotational momentum vector) compared with the rotational excitation, and the phenomena are quite different with the increase of the vibrational and rotational quantum number. Also the products are vibrationally cold and rotationally hot.  相似文献

Diffusion of a Si adatom over the reconstructed Si(100) surface with a single-height step on it is studied using the pseudopotential total energy method. The SB rebonded step is shown to act as a good sink for adatoms descending onto the lower ledge. This is due to the presence of deep traps on the lower terrace and to the negative Ehrlich-Schwoebel barrier (the activation barrier for descent from the edge is 0.23 eV lower than for the motion on a flat surface). The diffusion characteristics of the adatom on both terraces are virtually unaffected by the presence of the step. However, the dimer buckling sequence on a lower terrace is strongly dependent on the position of the adatom along the diffusion path. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Tie line data of the ternary system {methanol + isooctane + cyclohexane} were obtained at T = 303.15 K. A quaternary system containing these three compounds and benzene was also studied at the same temperature, while data for {methanol + benzene + cyclohexane} and {methanol + benzene + isooctane} were taken from literature. In order to obtain the binodal surface of the quaternary system, four quaternary sectional planes with several cyclohexane/isooctane ratios were studied. The distribution of benzene between both phases was also analysed. Ternary experimental results were correlated with the UNIQUAC and NRTL equations and compared with predictions using the UNIFAC group contribution method.  相似文献

A molecular‐dynamics simulation study has been performed to investigate the Cu adatom diffusion on the (110) stepped surfaces of Ag, using interatomic potentials described by the embedded atom method. We have systematically calculated the energy barriers for different possible diffusion mechanisms, which occur on the terrace and near the step edge. Our findings show that the predominant atomistic diffusion process at step edge and on the terrace is the exchange mechanism with anES barrier about 220 meV lower than that via jumping (290 meV), indicating that the incorporation of Cu adatom into Ag(110) is ‘easier’ than making a jump on the surface. On the other hand, the calculation of the Ehrlich–Schwoebel (ES) barrier demonstrates that this quantity is equal to 0 meV for the exchange process near the step edge and about 60 meV for channel–channel migration. Thus, the mass transport across steps may be important due to the lack of the ES barriers for exchange mechanism, revealing the possible layer‐by‐layer growth mode for our heterogeneous system. The surface tension of the binary refrigerant mixture pentafluoroethane (HFC-125) + 1,1-difluoroethane (HFC-152a) was measured in the temperature range from (243 to 328) K with a differential capillary rise method, for three compositions around the composition of the optimum refrigeration performance (HFC-125 + HFC152a, 15%/85%). The uncertainties of the measurement of the temperature and the surface tension were estimated to be within ±10 mK and ±0.2 mN m−1, respectively. A correlation for the surface tension of the binary refrigerant mixture HFC-152a + HFC-125 was developed as a function of the composition.  相似文献

A VUV photoionization study of acetamide was carried out over the 8-24 eV photon energy range using synchrotron radiation and photoelectron/photoion coincidence (PEPICO) spectroscopy. Threshold photoelectron photoion coincidence (TPEPICO) measurements were also made. Photoion yield curves and branching ratios were measured for the parent ion and six fragment ions. The adiabatic ionization energy of acetamide was determined as I.E. (12A′) = (9.71 ± 0.02) eV, in agreement with an earlier reported photoionization mass spectrometry (PIMS) value. The adiabatic energy of the first excited state of the ion, 12A″, was determined to be ≈10.1 eV. Assignments of the fragment ions and the pathways of their formation by dissociative photoionization were made. The neutral species lost in the principal dissociative photoionization processes are CH3, NH2, NH3, CO, HCCO and NH2CO. Heats of formation are derived for all ions detected and are compared with literature values. Some astrophysical implications of these results are discussed.  相似文献

Using a variable temperature STM to trace in detail the path of single particle movement, it is possible to derive diffusion parameters of individual atoms and molecules on solid surfaces as well as to probe the mechanisms. Below ˜370 °C, O2 molecules adsorb on Si(111)-7×7 surfaces at the top site of Si-adatoms as bright image spots. An O2 molecule can hop between two adatom sites within the half unit cell it adsorbs via two rest-atom sites. Above this temperature, it can either hop out of the half cell, or can go through other reaction pathways. In contrast, for H atoms, the adsorption sites are rest-atom sites. An H atom darkens the rest-atom in filled state image, but the surrounding adatoms will appear brighter because of a reverse charge transfer. Above ˜280 °C, it can hop to a neighbor rest atom site within the half cell via an adatom site. The adatom in the short lived intermediate state appears darker because of the saturation of its dangling bond. Above ˜340 °C, it can hop out of the half cell via two adatom sites. Thus diffusion of H and O2 on this surface is achieved by hopping of chemical bonds via intermediate states. We have also derived site and pathway-specific activation energies and frequency factors and the potential energy curves for the hopping of O2 and H on Si(111)-7×7 surfaces.  相似文献

Excess molar enthalpies and heat capacities of binary mixtures containing dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) + seven normal alkanols, namely methanol, ethanol, propan-1-ol, butan-1-ol, hexan-1-ol, octan-1-ol, and decan-1-ol, have been determined at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. With the exception of the DMSO-methanol system, which shows negative values, all mixtures show positive values of excess molar enthalpies over the whole range of mole fraction, increasing as the number of carbon atoms increases. Heat capacities of pure components have been determined in the range 288.15 < T (K) < 325.15. Molar heat capacities of the mixtures are always positive and decrease as the number of carbon atoms decreases. The results were fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation. Molecular interactions in the mixtures are interpreted on the basis of the results obtained.  相似文献

The phase diagrams of PEO1500 + sodium tartrate + water, PPO400 + sodium tartrate + water, PEO1500 + sodium succinate + water, PPO400 + sodium succinate + water, PEO1500 + sodium citrate + water, PPO400 + sodium citrate + water and PPO400 + sodium acetate + water aqueous two-phase systems were determined at (283.15, 298.15, and 313.15) K. Both equilibrium phases composition were analyzed by conductimetry and refractive index. In this paper, the influences of polymer hydrophobicity, salt nature and temperature on the phase diagram were analyzed. The phase separation processes was endothermic and the hydrophobic increase make easier the phase splitting, while the electrolyte capacity to induce phase separation follow the order: citrate > tartrate > succinate. The consistency of the tie-line data was ascertained by applying the Othmer-Tobias correlation. The experimental data were correlated with the NRTL model for the activity coefficient, with estimation of new interaction energy parameters. The results, analyzed in terms of root mean square deviations between experimental and calculated compositions, were considered satisfactory.  相似文献

Molecular diffusion across a surface is typically assumed to involve only relatively minor changes in molecular orientation and internal structure. Nevertheless, it is expected (in principle) that certain molecules may diffuse in more complex ways; rolling, deforming, or otherwise adapting their configuration as they make their way across the surface. Here we show that adsorbed benzyne on the Ir{1 0 0} surface displays three distinct diffusional pathways through its configuration space, corresponding to three different values of the molecular tilt. The lowest barrier to diffusion is 1.0 eV.  相似文献
