The influence of a superintense laser field on the transmission probability of a charged particle through a potential barrier is discussed. It is shown that the effect of the intense laser field is to weaken the potential barrier in such a way that its height decreases exponentially with the laser field. The implications to the ferro — to para - electric phase transition in BaTiO3 under an intense CO2 - laser field is also discussed.  相似文献

Experiments on the generation of high optical harmonics demonstrating that relativistic regimes of interaction of radiation with matter can be implemented in the field of mid-infrared laser pulses with a peak power of 0.3 TW have been reported. The observation of relativistic phenomena at such extraordinary low peak powers of the laser field becomes possible because of the formation of a high-quality space-time mode of the laser field with an exactly specified polarization state. Such a field structure ensures a high intensity of radiation in the focus of the beam and the effective acceleration of electrons by a low-frequency electromagnetic field of a high-contrast laser pulse with an exactly specified polarization at the extremely sharp vacuum-solid interface.

The resonance of the intersection of sublevels in a probe laser field resonant to the cyclic transition corresponding to the D 2 87Rb line has been investigated in a zero magnetic field. The strong effect of an additional laser field acting on the adjacent transition has been revealed. In a cell without the buffer gas and antirelaxation coating, the amplitude of the probe-field absorption resonance can increase by more than an order of magnitude in the presence of a counterpropagating wave. The effect is observed at the laser frequency tuned to the cross resonance, when the counterpropagating waves simultaneously act on moving atoms at the cyclic and open transitions with the common lower level. The theoretical analysis of the effect of the additional field on the electromagnetically induced absorption resonance is in agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

We have studied the resonance fluorescence of a room-temperature rubidium vapor exited to the atomic 5P3/2 state (D2 line) by powerful single-frequency cw laser radiation (1.25 W/cm2) in the presence of a magnetic field. In these studies, the slow, linear scanning of the laser frequency across the hyperfine transitions of the D2 line is combined with a fast linear scanning of the applied magnetic field, which allows us to record frequency-dependent Hanle resonances from all the groups of hyperfine transitions including V- and Λ-type systems. Rate equations were used to simulate fluorescence signals for 85Rb due to circularly polarized exciting laser radiation with different mean frequency values and laser intensity values. The simulation show a dependence of the fluorescence on the magnetic field. The Doppler effect was taken into account by averaging the calculated signals over different velocity groups. Theoretical calculations give a width of the signal peak in good agreement with experiment.  相似文献

The source of the current in a plasma produced by a 1.7 ns CO2 laser irradiation of a copper target is found to last for to 150 ns. Evidence is shown for a short circuit in the laser plasma which shields the target from the intense magnetic field associated with the current.  相似文献

本文运用含时密度泛函理论和分子动力学非绝热耦合的方法, 研究了水分子在不同极化方向的激光场中的电离和动力学行为. 计算结果表明, 对应相同的极化方向, 随着激光强度的增加, 水分子的电离增强; 对于相同强度的激光, 当激光极化方向沿水分子对称轴方向时, 水分子的电离最强, 当激光极化方向垂直水分子对称轴方向时, 水分子电离受到最大程度的抑制. 对水分子偶极矩的研究表明, 当分子处于线性响应区域时, x方向的激光只能激发起x方向的偶极振动而y方向的激光只能激发起y方向的偶极振动. 对水分子的键长和键角的研究表明, 在激光场中水分子的键长变长, 键角变大, 但变化幅度随着激光极化角的增大而减小. 此外, 研究还发现, 虽然在不同极化方向的激光脉冲的驱动下, 水分子OH键的振动频率与激光频率相当, 在脉冲关闭后, 振动频率减小, 但激光场的极化方向对水分子振动模式具有选择性. 关键词: 含时密度泛函理论 分子动力学 水分子 电离  相似文献

In this paper, the effects of hydrostatic pressure, temperature and intense laser field on the linear and nonlinear optical processes in the conduction band of a square quantum well are numerically investigated in the effective mass approximation. The analytical expressions of optical properties are obtained by using the compact density-matrix approach. The numerical results are presented for typical square GaAs/AlxGa1?xAs single quantum well system. The nonlinear optical absorption and refractive index changes depending on the hydrostatic pressure and intense laser field are investigated for two different temperature values. The results show that the intense laser field, the hydrostatic pressure and the temperature have a significant effect on the optical characteristics of these structures.  相似文献

The LO- phonon damping in an electron-phonon system in the presence of a laser beam and a d. c. magnetic field is discussed. It is shown that near the laser-cyclotron resonance, and for the laser beam propagating perpendicularly to the magnetic field the LO-phonon population in a relatively narrow range of K may grow with time.  相似文献

In this paper, self-focusing of an intense circularly polarized laser beam in the presence of a non-uniform positive guide magnetic field with slope constant parameter δ in hot magnetized plasma, using Maxwell’s equations and relativistic fluid momentum equation is investigated. An envelope equation governing the spot-size of laser beam for both of left- and right-hand polarizations has been derived, and the effects of the plasma temperature and magnetic field on the electron density distribution of hot plasma with respect to variation of normalized laser spot-size has been studied. Numerical results show that self-focusing is better increased in the presence of an external non-uniform magnetic field. Moreover, in plasma density profile, self-focusing of the laser pulse improves in comparison with no non-uniform magnetic field. Also, with increasing slope of constant parameter of the non-uniform magnetic field, the self-focusing increases, and subsequently, the spot-size of laser pulse propagated through the hot magnetized plasma decreases.  相似文献

The head-on propagation of a beam of γ grays through the field of a laser wave is investigated. The optical properties of the laser wave (as a medium) are described by the dielectric tensor. The refractive indices are determined, and the polarization characteristics of electromagnetic normal modes capable of propagating in such a medium are investigated. Relations are derived to describe the variation of the initial polarization and intensity of a γ-ray beam as it propagates in a laser field. In the classical mechanics framework the solution is given for the problem of the two-atomic molecule alignment in a field of linearly polarised laser pulse. The numerical results are presented for the Cl2 molecule, together with the analytical results in the limit of a very short and strong laser pulse. The width of the angular distribution for molecular axes in field is demonstrated to depend on the radiation intensity as S ?1/4, the alignment along the polarisation direction is possible as well as in the transversal direction. The mechanism of the Coulomb explosion of a metal in an external pulsed electric field is discussed. In the case of a low-frequency field, when its frequency is lower than the frequency of electron collisions, it is impossible to reach the conditions of the Coulomb explosion of a metal if the field pulse duration is shorter than the time of electron energy relaxation upon elastic collisions, and the electron temperature is well above the Fermi energy and the work function. In the case of a high-frequency field, e.g., in a powerful pulse of ultraviolet laser radiation, the Coulomb explosion can occur if the field strength is well above the intraatomic field strength (i.e., when the laser power density is ≥1019 W/cm2).  相似文献

The collisionless vibrational excitation of a polyatomic molecule in an IR laser radiation field has been theoretically studied. It has been shown that (i) the degree of vibrational excitation (namely, number 0000 of vibrational quanta of a molecular mode near-resonant with the IR laser field that are absorbed by the molecule) is low if laser pulse intensity P (energy flux density in the laser beam) is lower than a certain critical value P cr; (ii) the degree of excitation abruptly increases after crossing the boundary where P = P cr; (iii) this effect is attributed to two properties inherent in polyatomic molecules, namely, the anharmonicity of the vibrational mode interacting with the laser field and the energy exchange with other modes; and (iv) at P > P cr, number 00000 is determined only by energy density Φ = PτP, where τP is the laser pulse duration, 00000 monotonically increases with increasing Φ. Three different switching-on processes are studied —Q-switching, switching off the detuning, switching on the pump power. The transient behaviour of the laser field is different for these switching-on processes, and may generally be divided into a rapidly and in a slowly time-dependent part. In this work are studied the intense laser effects on the impurity states in GaAs-Ga1− x Al x As quantum wells under applied electric and magnetic fields. The electric field is taken oriented along the growth direction of the quantum well whereas the magnetic field is considered to be in-plane. The calculations are made within the effective mass and parabolic band approximations. The intense laser effects have been included through the Floquet method by modifying the confinement potential associated to the heterostructure. The results are presented for several configurations of the dimensions of the quantum well, the position of the impurity atom, the applied electric and magnetic fields, and the incident intense laser radiation. The results suggest that for fixed geometry setups in the system, the binding energy is a decreasing function of the electric field intensity while a dual monotonic behavior is detected when it varies with the magnitude of an applied magnetic field, according to the intensity of the laser field radiation.  相似文献

An analysis is made of the application a generalized method of eigenmodes, which is used in steady-state diffraction problems to the theory of lasers. In the study of open laser cavities the use of this method makes it possible to avoid difficulties associated with the exponential growth of the field at infinity. The generalized method developed previously for solving steady-state diffraction problems is extended to the case of non-steady-state narrow-band processes to construct in the ordinary way the equations describing the operation of the laser. The only difference is that the field is expanded in the eigenfunctions that are orthogonal in the region occupied by the active medium. This eliminates the difficulties associated with the behavior of the mode field at infinity. In addition, in a number of cases the generalized eigenfunctions (modes) correspond considerably better to the field distribution in the operating laser. Zh. Tekh. 借助于微米尺度的远失谐光学偶极阱(FORT)中蓝失谐光的光助碰撞效应与反馈控制系统,文章在实验上实现了FORT中单个原子的高效制备.结合原子的势能曲线,分析了原子在红失谐光和蓝失谐光作用下的光助碰撞效应,并且在实验上得到红失谐光诱导下单原子的制备概率约50%,蓝失谐光诱导下单原子的制备概率约80%.通过反馈控制系统,当原子数目小于1时,反馈控制使磁场梯度减小以快速俘获原子,当原子数目大于1时,反馈控制开启蓝失谐光场,使得原子一个个逃逸出阱中,最终实现了FORT中单原子的制备概率约95%,为下一步偶极阱的二维扩展奠定了基础.通过HBT实验测量FORT中单原子发出光子的统计特性,得到二阶相干度g(2)(τ=0)=0.08.  相似文献

A method using expansion of the wave function in the basis of photonic and free atomic eigenstates is proposed for calculating the emission spectrum of an atom in a laser field. The wave function is constructed using the Kramers?Henneberger transformation so that the expression for the transition S matrix explicitly includes the nonlinear interaction with the laser field. The expansion coefficients are determined by the residual interaction, which depends on the coordinates of the classical free electron motion in the laser field. Resonances at the atomic transition frequencies explicitly arise in the emission spectrum when the residual interaction is considered in the first order. The numerical solution of the timedependent Schro¨ dinger equation for the hydrogen atom within the semiclassical approach is used to obtain emission spectra for laser pulses of different intensities and durations.  相似文献

The axisymmetrical structural traveling wave cavity (ASSC) CO2 laser is introduced based on the propagation theory of the standing wave cavity CO2 laser. Then the propagation characteristics of the elliptically polarized Gaussian beam are studied in detail. The transforms of the coordinate were used to solve the near field distributions of the output laser beams. The numerical calculations show that the combination of the output beams in the near field can be fulfilled. The diminutive ASSC CO2 laser can be applied into the laser gyro and the measure of the angular velocity.  相似文献

We derive a formula using closed-orbit theory for the photodetachment cross-section of H- in the presence of a static electric field when there is an arbitrary angle θL between the laser polarization direction and the static electric field. This formula generalizes the previous result for laser polarization parallel to the static electric field, the effect of laser polarization direction appears as a factor cos2L) in the amplitude of the oscillation.
