In this paper, we study an operator s which maps every n-by-n symmetric matrix A, to a matrix s(A_n) that minimizes || B_n-A_n || F over the set of all matrices B_n, that can be diagonalized by the sine transform. The matrix s(A_n), called the optimal sine transform preconditioner, is defined for any n-by-n symmetric matrices A_n. The cost of constructing s(A_n) is the same as that of optimal circulant preconditioner c(A_n) which is defined in [8], The s(A_n) has been proved in [6] to be a good preconditioner in solving symmetric Toeplitz systems with the preconditioned conjugate gradient (PCG) method. In this paper, we discuss the algebraic and geometric properties of the operator s, and compute its operator norms in Banach spaces of symmetric matrices. Some numerical tests and an application in image restoration are also given. 相似文献

In this paper, a fast algorithm for the discrete sine transform(DST) of a Toeplitz matrix of order N is derived. Only O(N log N) O(M) time is needed for the computation of M elements. The auxiliary storage requirement is O(N). An application of the new fast algorithm is also discussed. 相似文献

In the present paper,the authors introduce a new integral transform which yields a number of potentially useful(known or new) integral transfoms as its special cases.Many fundamental results about this new integral transform,which are established in this paper,include(for example) existence theorem,Parseval-type relationship and inversion formula.The relationship between the new integral transform with the H-function and the H-transform are characterized by means of some integral identities.The introduced transform is also used to find solution to a certain differential equation.Some illustrative examples are also given. 相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an efficient integral transform called the ${\mathbb J}$-transform which is a modification of the well-known Sumudu transform and the Natural transform for solving differential equations with real applications in applied physical sciences and engineering. The ${\mathbb J}$-transform is more advantageous than both the Sumudu transform and the Natural transform. Interestingly, our proposed ${\mathbb J}$-transform can be applied successfully to solve complex problems that are ordinarily beyond the scope of either Sumudu transform or Natural transform. As a proof of concept, we consider some classic examples and highlight the limitations of the previously reported integral transforms and lastly demonstrate the superiority of the proposed ${\mathbb J}$-transform in addressing those limitations. 相似文献

离散Fourier变换(DFT)在数字信号处理等许多领域中占有重要地位.近年来,出现一种优于FFT的算术Fourier变换来计算DFT.在广义Mobius变换的基础上,本文采用了一种改进的AFT来计算DFT,这种方法可以直接提取DFT的系数,且用数论的方法阐明了这一过程,并展开了进一步的讨论.这也代表了数论方法应用在计算数学领域的一个新的发展方向. 相似文献

In this paper we propose the well-known Fourier method on some non-tensor productdomains in R~d, inclding simplex and so-called super-simplex which consists of (d 1)!simplices. As two examples, in 2-D and 3-D case a super-simplex is shown as a parallelhexagon and a parallel quadrilateral dodecahedron, respectively. We have extended mostof concepts and results of the traditional Fourier methods on multivariate cases, such asFourier basis system, Fourier series, discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and its fast algorithm(FFT) on the super-simplex, as well as generalized sine and cosine transforms (DST, DCT)and related fast algorithms over a simplex. In this research paper, we examine a novel method called the Natural Decomposition Method (NDM). We use the NDM to obtain exact solutions for three different types of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (NLODEs). The NDM is based on the Natural transform method (NTM) and the Adomian decomposition method (ADM). By using the new method, we successfully handle some class of nonlinear ordinary differential equations in a simple and elegant way. The proposed method gives exact solutions in the form of a rapid convergence series. Hence, the Natural Decomposition Method (NDM) is an excellent mathematical tool for solving linear and nonlinear differential equation.
