In this paper authors prove a general theorem on generating relations for a certain sequence of functions. Many formulas involving the families of generating functions for generalized hypergeometric polynomials are shown here to be special cases of a general class of generating functions involving generalized hypergeometric polynomials and multiple hypergeometric series of several variables. It is then shown how the main result can be applied to derive a large number of generating functions involving hypergeometric functions of Kampé de Fériet, Srivastava, Srivastava-Daoust, Chaundy, Fasenmyer, Cohen, Pasternack, Khandekar, Rainville and other multiple Gaussian hypergeometric polynomials scattered in the literature of special functions.  相似文献

The notion of automorphism-order is introduced as a generalization of elemental order in finite groups. Some theorems involving orders of elements are then generalized. Divisibility properties involving this concept are considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions for an abelian group to be represented by number-theoretic functions involving divisibility properties are given. In this paper, we give some conditions for a class of functions related to Bessel functions to be positive definite or strictly positive definite. We present some properties and relationships involving logarithmically completely monotonic functions and strictly positive definite functions. In particular, we are interested with the modified Bessel functions of the second kind. As applications, we prove the logarithmically monotonicity for a class of functions involving the modified Bessel functions of second kind and we established new inequalities for this function.  相似文献

In the paper, necessary and sufficient conditions are provided for a function involving the divided difference of two psi functions to be completely monotonic. Sufficient optimality conditions are obtained for a nonlinear multiple objective fractional programming problem involving η-semidifferentiable type I-preinvex and related functions. The hybrid Fourier transform, involving a linear combination of the cosine and sine functions as its kernel, is generalised for discontinuous but integrable functions, in the half-range comprising of the positive real axis. The present generalisation of the hybrid transform is observed to be useful in the area of two-dimensional wave problems involving a two-fluid region as opposed to the well-known hybrid transform, known as Havelock's expansion theorem, whose use is limited to the study of water wave problems involving only a single fluid medium.  相似文献

We present a conspicuous number of indefinite integrals involving Heun functions and their products obtained by means of the Lagrangian formulation of a general homogeneous linear ordinary differential equation. As a by-product we also derive new indefinite integrals involving the Gauss hypergeometric function and products of hypergeometric functions with elliptic functions of the first kind. All integrals we obtained cannot be computed using Maple and Mathematica.  相似文献

In this paper, we evaluate four finite integrals involving the products of Jacobi polynomials, Associated Legendre functions and Fox’s H-function. Since the H-function is one of the most general functions known so far, our integrals yield various interesting integrals, on specializing the parameters of the H-function. A method is given for deriving indefinite integrals involving squares and other products of functions which are solutions of second-order linear differential equations. Several variations of the method are presented, which applies directly to functions which obey homogeneous differential equations. However, functions which obey inhomogeneous equations can be incorporated into the products and examples are given of integrals involving products of Bessel functions combined with Lommel, Anger and Weber functions. Many new integrals are derived for a selection of special functions, including Bessel functions, associated Legendre functions, and elliptic integrals. A number of integrals of products of Gauss hypergeometric functions are also presented, which seem to be the first integrals of this type. All results presented have been numerically checked with Mathematica.  相似文献

 Optimization problems involving differences of functions arouse interest as generalizations of so-called d.c. problems, i.e. problems involving the difference of two convex functions. The class of d.c. functions is very rich, so d.c. problems are rather general optimization problems. Several global optimality conditions for these d.c. problems have been proposed in the optimization literature. We provide a survey of these conditions and try to detect their common basis. This enables us to give generalizations of the conditions to situations when the objective function is no longer a difference of convex functions, but the difference of two functions which are representable as the upper envelope of an arbitrary family of functions. In this paper, the authors review origins, motivations, and generalizations of a series of inequalities involving finitely many exponential functions and sums. They establish three new inequalities involving finitely many exponential functions and sums by finding convexity of a function related to the generating function of the Bernoulli numbers. They also survey the history, backgrounds, generalizations, logarithmically complete monotonicity, and applications of a series of ratios of finitely many gamma functions, present complete monotonicity of a linear combination of finitely many trigamma functions, construct a new ratio of finitely many gamma functions, derive monotonicity, logarithmic convexity, concavity, complete monotonicity, and the Bernstein function property of the newly constructed ratio of finitely many gamma functions. Finally, they suggest two linear combinations of finitely many trigamma functions and two ratios of finitely many gamma functions to be investigated.  相似文献
