Recent experimental results onD-,D s - andB-decays are interpreted on the basis of the valence quark model. For nonleptonic decays generally good results are obtained using factorization with little direct annihilation. Final state interaction causes corrections, however: small bare amplitudes can be fed by stronger amplitudes through channel mixing. This effect can simulate or enhance weak annihilation processes in particular if high lying resonances contribute. A comparison of \(D^0 \to \bar K^0 \phi \) withD s →?π decays will clarify this issue. The effective QCD coefficients obtained in the analysis are discussed and used to estimate the contribution of two-body decays to the total widths. The result reflects already the lifetime differences betweenD 0 andD + mesons. Predictions for numerousB-decay branching rations allow for further tests and for a determination of so far unknown decay constants. A first bound on |V ub | from nonleptonic decays is found from the experimental limit on \(\bar B^0 \to \pi ^ + \pi ^ - \) .  相似文献

We investigate the effects of final state interactions (FSI) contributions in the nonleptonic two body $B^ + \to D_S^ + \bar K^0$ decay, however the hadronic decay of $B^ + \to D_S^ + \bar K^0$ is analyzed by using “QCD factorization” (QCDF) method and final state interaction (FSI). First, the $B^ + \to D_S^ + \bar K^0$ decay is calculated via QCDF method and only the annihilation graphs exist in that method. Hence, the FSI must be seriously considered to solve the $B^ + \to D_S^ + \bar K^0$ decay and the D 0π+(D 0+), D +π0(D +0) and D +η c (D +*J/ψ) via the exchange of K +(*), K 0(*) and D s +(*) mesones are chosen for the intermediate states. To estimate the intermediate states amplitudes, the QCDF method is again used. These amplitudes are used in the absorptive part of the diagrams. The experimental branching ratio of $B^ + \to D_S^ + \bar K^0$ decay is less than 8 × 10?4 and the predicted branching ratio is 0.23 × 10?9 in the absence of FSI effects and it becomes 6.74 × 10?4 when FSI contributions are taken into account.  相似文献

The branching ratios for the exclusive decays of the heavy quarkonia Ψ(3770) and ?(10580) to a pair of light mesons [π + π -, $K\bar K$ , ρ(ω)π, ρ(ω)η, ρ(ω)η’, $K^* \bar K$ +c.c, ρ + ρ -, and $K^* \bar K^* $ ] and the branching ratios for the decays Ψ(3770) → J/Ψ + P(P = π 0, η) and ?(10580) → ?(1S) + P(P = π 0,η,η′), which involve a heavy quarkonium in the final state, are calculated with allowance for new data on the width of the D*±(2010) meson and the mass differences between the charged and neutral beauty mesons (B ±, on one hand, and B 0 and $\bar B^0 $ , on the other hand). The calculations are based on the model where the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka rule is dynamically violated owing to the intermediate state $D\bar D (B\bar B)$ in the case of the Ψ(3770) [?(10580)] meson. The inclusive annihilation of Ψ(3770) and ?(10580) mesons to light hadrons is discussed.  相似文献

We have performed a two-channel calculation of Cabibbo-angle favoured decays,D s + →VP. We find a satisfactory fit toS s + φπ +,ρ 0 π + andK + \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) data from ARGUS and E-691. We have also studied Cabbibo-angle favouredD→VP decays in a coupled channel formalism. We coupleDK *π,K ? and \(\bar K^0 \phi \) channels inI=1/2 state, andK *π andK ? channels inI=3/2 state. We leave the two channels, \(\bar K^0 \omega \) and \(\bar K^{ * 0} \eta \) out of our unitarization scheme. Particular attention is paid to the role of the weak annihilation term in these decays.  相似文献

We present the final results on the measurement of the masses and lifetimes of the mesonsD 0,D + andD s + in the NA32 experiment at the CERN SPS, using silicon microstrip detectors and charge-coupled devices for vertex reconstruction. We measure the following lifetimes: \(\tau _{D^0 } = 3.88 \pm _{0.21}^{0.23} \cdot 10^{ - 13} s\) using a sample of 479D°→K ?π+π?π+ and 162D°→K ?π+ decays; \(\tau _{D^ + } = 10.5 \pm _{0.72}^{0.77} \cdot 10^{ - 13} s\) with a sample of 317D +K ?π+π+ decays; \(\tau _{D_s^ + } = 4.69 \pm _{0.86}^{1.02} \cdot 10^{ - 13} s\) with a sample of 54D s + K + K ?π+ decays. We measure the following masses:m D 0=1864.6±0.3±1.0 MeV,m D +=1870.0±0.5±1.0 MeV and \(m_{D_s^ + } \) =1967.0±1.0±1.0 MeV.  相似文献

We investigate CP-violating phenomena both in semi-inclusive and exclusive penguin-inducedB-meson decays by using low energy effective Hamiltonians for |ΔB|=1, ΔCU=0 transitions including leading and next-to-leading order OCD corrections. In particular, we discuss the renormalization scheme dependences arising beyond the leading order and their explicit cancellation for the physical transition amplitudes. In order to estimate the hadronic matrix elements needed for the exclusive penguin modes, we apply both the Bauer, Stech, Wirbel model and the meson model of Brodsky and Lepage. Numerical results are presented for semi-inclusive \(b \to q'\bar qq(q',q \in \{ d,s\} )\) modes and the exclusive decaysB ?K ? K 0, \(B^ - \to \pi ^ - \bar K^0 \) , and \(B_d^0 \to K^0 \bar K^0 \) .  相似文献

In the CERN NA 32 experiment a high-resolution silicon vertex detector and a purely topological approach have been used to investigate various decays of charmed particles. We observe ~620 fully reconstructed decays ofD 0 in 12 channels and determine the branching ratios. For fourD 0 decay modes involving a single (unseen) π0 the small and narrowD *+?D 0 mass difference is used to measure their branching ratios. We also observe ~280 fully reconstructedD + decays in 10 channels, ~90D s + decays in 11 channels as well as 160Λ s c and 18 decay channels ofD +. For theD s + , we measure the branching fractions within a subset of 16 three- and five-prong decay channels. For theΛ s c , we determine the branching fractions within a sample of 11 three- and five-prong decay channels, nearly all involving a proton.  相似文献

We combine highly complementary information on branching fractions of charmed mesonsD 0,D + andD s + coming from two experiments both yielding doublecharm samples. The NA 32 experiment provided exclusive branching fractions for channels with at least two charged decay products while a recent Mark III paper provides results on inclusive charm decay properties. The knowledge of channels withK 0's in the former is used to recalculate the charged multiplicity distribution in the latter. We obtain 〈n ch〉=2.25±0.08 forD 0, 〈n ch〉=1.96±0.08 forD + and 〈n ch〉=2.41±0.38 forD s + . In turn the knowledge of the charged multiplicity improves the overall normalization of exclusive branching fractions. This reanalysis yields model-independent results for charmed mesons. In particular we obtain branching fractions for 16D s + decay channels including $$BF(D_s^ + \to \phi \pi ^ + ) = \left( {4.4\begin{array}{*{20}c} { + 2.3} \\ { - 1.8} \\ \end{array} } \right)\% .$$ .  相似文献

We have carried out a study of Cabbibbo-favored two-body decays ofD 0 andD s + involving η and η′ in the final state, $D^0 \to (\eta ,\eta ')\bar K^0 , D^0 \to (\eta ,\eta ')\bar K*^0 $ andD s + →(η,η′)π +,D s + →(η,η′)ρ +. We have introduced an annihilation term wherever admissible, and investigated its size if it were to bridge the gap between theory and experiment in each case. We have also related the semileptonic rates forD s + →(η,η′)e + v to those of the hadronic rates forD s + →(η,η′)π + and unveiled a puzzle. We offer a possible solution.  相似文献

We investigate a special concept of quarkhadron duality in meson physics at low and intermediate energies. With a relativistic propagator for confined quarks, we calculated masses and widths of the mesons which areS- andP-wave states ofq¯q (J P=0?, 1?, 0+, 1+c, 2+) as well as meson-meson scattering amplitudes at energies up totrs ≤ 1.3 GeV by including light pseudoscalar and vector mesons into the interaction dynamics. Our investigation shows that the influence of the light meson dynamics resutls in:
  1. a contribution to the constituent quark mass of approximately 200 MeV.
  2. the appearance of a new soft confinement force barrier responsible for the formation of the highly excited meson states.

Within QCD, heavy quarkonia are viewed as a quark antiquark pair bound by a narrow chromoelectric flux tube. This flux can create light quark antiquark pairs accounting for the decay into mesons with heavy quantum numbers. This model is shown to be as consistent with current data on charmonium decays intoD-meson pairs and upsilon decay to \(B\bar B\) , as is the physically less appealing3 P 0 model.  相似文献

We suggest that mixed heavy quark bound states like \(b\bar c\) may offer very good testing ground for Q.C.D. We make a prediction within ≈0.3% for the \(b\bar c\) ground state mass and discuss its possible production in weak decays. Various general features of non leptonic decays of heavey flavors and in particular the prediction of absence ofK * 0 resonance inD 0K -+0 arte discussed, and finally we close by commenting on the importance of associated heavy flavor production as a crucial test for the recently advanced preconfinment notion.  相似文献

The results of the measurements of radiative decays of ρ and ω mesons with the Neutral Detector at thee + e ? collider VEPP-2M are presented. The branching ratio of the decay ω→π 0γ was measured with higher than in previous experiments accuracy: $${\rm B}(\omega \to \pi ^0 \gamma ) = 0.0888 \pm 0.0062$$ . The ρ0π 0 γ branching ratio was measured for the first time: $$B(\rho ^0 \to \pi ^0 \gamma ) = (7.9 \pm 2.0) \cdot 10^{ - 4} $$ . The decays ρ, ω→ηγ were studied. Their branching ratios with the assumption of constructive ρ?ω interference are: $$\begin{gathered} B(\omega \to \eta \gamma ) = (7.3 \pm 2.9) \cdot 10^{ - 4} , \hfill \\ B(\rho \to \eta \gamma ) = (4.0 \pm 1.1) \cdot 10^{ - 4} \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ . The branching ratios of ρ, ω→ηγ and ω→e + e ? decays were also measured: $$\begin{gathered} B(\omega \to \pi ^ + \pi ^ - \pi ^0 ) = 0.8942 \pm 0.0062, \hfill \\ B(\omega \to e^ + e^ - ) = (7.14 \pm 0.36) \cdot 10^{ - 5} \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ . The upper limit for the ω→π 0 π 0 γ branching ratio was placed: B(ωπ 0 π 0 γ)<4·10?4 at 90% confidence level.  相似文献

The asymmetry between the spectra of leading and nonleading charmed mesons that was measured in Σ? A interactions at p L=340 GeV/c in the WA89 experiment is described within the Model of Quark-Gluon Strings (QGS model also known as QGSM) under the assumption that there is a fraction of charmed sea quark-antiquark pairs (intrinsic charm) in an interacting hyperon. It is shown that the asymmetries between D ?-and D +-meson spectra and between D s ? -and D s + -meson spectra can be approximated by QGSM curves obtained with the same string-fragmentation parameter, a 1=10, and the same intrinsic-charm fraction, $\delta _{c,\bar c} = 0.01$ , as those that were used in describing D s ? /D s + -meson asymmetry of π? A experiments in previous studies. The asymmetry between the spectra of Λc and $\bar \Lambda _c $ that was measured in Σ? A collisions at p L=600 GeV/c in the E781 experiment is also described within this scheme. The QGSM results are compared with the results of the calculations in the next-to-leading approximation of perturbative QCD that were performed by other authors.  相似文献

CP violation in partial-decay-rate asymmetries are examined for some two-body baryonic decays of \(B_d^0 - \bar B_d^0 \) system. We discuss two feasible experimental circumstances: the symmetrice + e ? collisions (i) on theZ 0 resonance to produce incoherent \(B_d^0 \bar B_d^0 \) states, and (ii) just above the ?(4S) resonance to produceC=even \(B_d^0 \bar B_d^0 \) states. Using the quark-diagram scheme, we estimate the branching ratios of those decays, and the numbers ofb \(\bar b\) pairs needed for testing theCP-violating effects for 3σ signature. We find that the promising channels may beB d 0 , \(\bar B_d^0 \to p\bar p\) , \(\Delta ^ + \bar \Delta ^ - \) , \(p\bar \Delta ^ - \) , \(\Delta ^ + \bar p\) , \(n\bar n\) , \(\Delta ^0 \bar \Delta ^0 \) , \(n\bar \Delta ^0 \) , \(\Delta ^0 \bar n\) , \(\Sigma _c^ + \bar \Sigma _c^ - \) , \(\Lambda _c^ + \bar \Lambda _c^ - \) , \(\Sigma _c^ + \bar \Lambda _c^ - \) , \(\Lambda _c^ + \bar \Sigma _c^ - \) , \(\Sigma _c^0 \bar \Sigma _c^0 \) , \(\Xi _c^0 \bar \Xi _c^0 \) , which should be interesting for experimental observation.  相似文献

Based onV spin consideration, it is argued that20 dominance in the effective weak Lagrangian does not strongly reduce theinclusive decay rate ofD + mesons. Decays of the typeDKρ,K *π, ρπ are discussed in pointing out that 20 dominance should lead to a large enhancement of \(D^ + \to \bar K^0 \rho ^ + ,\left( {\bar K^0 } \right) * \pi ^ + \) over \(D^ + \to \bar K^0 \pi ^ + \) ;W exchange, on the other hand, leads to a sizeable suppression ofD 0K ? ρ +,(K ?)*π+ relative toD 0K ?π+.  相似文献

A vast body of experimental data accumulated in the past few years in hadronic Z 0 decays allows one to check quark-combinatorics relations for a new type of processes-namely, quark jets in the decays Z 0 $q\bar q$ → hadrons. In this paper, we review quark-combinatorics rules for the yields of vector and pseudoscalar mesons, V/P, in the central and fragmentation regions of hadronic Z 0 decays. It is emphasized that, in the central region, a direct verification of quark-combinatorics rules is rather problematic because of a considerable background associated with the decay of highly excited resonances; however, such a verification is possible in the fragmentation region, at x hadron~0.5–1, where the contribution of resonance decays is suppressed owing to a fast decrease of the spectra with increasing x hadron. It is shown that, in the fragmentation region, experimental data on ρ00 and p+ are in reasonable agreement with the predictions of quark combinatorics. The ratios of the heavy-meson yields, B*/B and D*/D, are also discussed: the data demonstrate good agreement with the quark combinatorial results. We analyze the structure of the suppression parameters for strange-and heavy-quark production in soft processes and estimate their orders of magnitude in multiperipheral processes; the ratio K ±± at x hadron~0.5–0.8 and the production probabilities for $c\bar c$ and $b\bar b$ mesons are in good agreement with the estimates.  相似文献

The amplitudes obtained from the effective chiral Lagrangian with anomalous terms based on hidden local symmetry are applied to the evaluation of the partial widths of the decays ω → 2π+2π?π0 and ωπ+π?3π0. Combining the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka rule, applied to the five-pion final state, with the Adler condition of vanishing of the amplitude at the vanishing of four-momentum of any final pion in the chiral limit, the ? → 2π+2π?π0 and ?π+π?3π0 decay amplitudes are also calculated. The partial widths of the above decays are evaluated, and the resonance excitation curves in e+e? annihilation are obtained, assuming reasonable particular relations among the free parameters characterizing the anomalous terms of the Lagrangian. The evaluated branching ratios \(Br_{\phi \to \pi + \pi - 3\pi ^0 } \approx 2 \times 10^{ - 7} \) and \(Br_{\phi \to 2\pi + 2\pi - \pi ^0 } \approx 5 \times 10^{ - 7} \) are such that with the luminosity L = 500 pb?1, attained at the DAΦNE ? factory, one may already possess about 1340 events of the decays ? → 5π.  相似文献
