Results are presented on two-particle inclusive production inK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c. We study thex 1,2=x 1+x 2 dependence of invariant structure functions of (ππ)-pairs and compare them to single particle inclusive distributions in the fragmentation regions. Distributions of particles observed at Feynmanx 2 in association with various “trigger” particles or systems atx 1 in the same hemisphere are dicussed in terms of the reduced variable \(\tilde x_2 = x_2 /(1 - |x_1 |)\) . We further present absolute production rates and production ratios of π+'s and π?'s associated with π±,K s 0 , Λ, \(\bar \Lambda \) ,K *+ (890), (K s 0 π+), and (π+ π?)-triggers, and compare them with qualitative predictions of the quark recombination model. Forwardbackward correlations between (K s 0 π±), (K s 0 ,p), (Λ, π?), \((\bar \Lambda \pi ^ \pm )\) , and (p, π?) pairs are also discussed.  相似文献

A detailed analysis of the inclusive production of the vector mesonsφ,K *+,0(892) \(\bar K*^0 (892),\rho ^{ + ,0} ,\omega \) and the tensor mesonsK 2 *0 )(1430) andf 2(1270) inK + p interactions at 250 GeV/c is presented The data are compared with results at lower energies and with various quark-parton models. The production ofρ 0,K *0(892) and \(\bar K*^0 (892)\) increases at the same rate as a function ofs, is concentrated in the central region and is not reproduced by the models. Production of the tensor mesonsf 2(1270) andK 2 *0 (1340) is suppressed relative toρ 0 andK *0(892) by a factor of about 3.  相似文献

The inclusive production of γ's and πp0's inK ? p-interactions at 32 GeV/c is studied. About 30.000 γ's coming from a Mirabelle bubble chamber experiment with a sensitivity of 6.5 ev/μb have been used for the analysis. Inclusive and topological cross sections of γ's are measured. The γ invariant differential distributions and their scaling properties are investigated. The inclusive cross section of πp0-production is determined and the πp0 invariant differential distributions are evaluated and compared to those of π.  相似文献

The production properties ofK s 0 , \(\bar \Lambda\) andK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c are investigated using the final statistics of the experiment. We present total and semi-inclusive cross sections and aver-age multiplicities. Estimates are given of the diffractive dissociation contributions to total and differential cross sections. Thex-,p T ?, and transverse mass dependence of inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions is discussed as well as properties of “prompt”K s 0 's. The ratio of “prompt”K 890 + (K 890 0 ) to “prompt”K 0 cross sections is measured to be 1.03±0.12 (0.98±0.17). From a comparison of \(\bar \Lambda\) production inK ± p interactions at 32 GeV/c, we estimate a strange sea-quark suppression of 0.26 ±0.02. The double differential cross sections ofK s 0 's is studied as a function of Feynman-x andp T 2 , and a Triple-Regge fit performed. The data are compared in detail to versions of the Lund-model for low-p T hadronic collisions.  相似文献

Results are presented on inclusive production of resonant and non-resonant particle systems produced inK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c. We compareK *+(892), \(\bar \Sigma ^{ * - } \) (1385), Σ(1385), and ?0 inclusivex-spectra with the ones of non-resonantK s 0 π±, \(\bar \Lambda \pi ^ - \) , Λπ± and π+π? pairs at the same effective mass. Resonance-particle pairsK *+π±, Σ*+π?, and \(\bar \Sigma ^{ * - } \pi ^ - \) are also studied together with non-resonant tripletsK s 0 π±, Λπ+π?, \(\bar \Lambda \pi ^ - \pi ^ - \) . The invariantx-spectra of resonant particle pairs decrease less rapidly withx then the corresponding non-resonant pairs. Comparison with quark-recombination predictions indicates that the particles, resonances and multiparticle systems are probably created off a single valence quark or diquark instead of carrying all possible valence-quarks.  相似文献

New experimental results are presented on inclusive production properties of \(\bar \Sigma ^{ * + } \) (1385) and \(\bar \Sigma ^{ * + } \) (1385) inK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The analysis is based on significantly larger statistics than previously available. A comparison is also made of invariantx-distributions ofK 0/ \(\bar K^0 \) , \(\bar \Lambda \) and \(\bar \Xi ^ + \) and of \(\bar \Sigma ^{ * \pm } \) (1385) andK *+(892). These spectra exhibit regularities expected from the quark-recombination picture when it is assumed that the strange mesons and antibaryons are produced off the strange \(\bar s\) -valence-quark in the incidentK + meson. Transverse momentum distributions are also presented forK *+(892) and \(\bar \Sigma ^{ * \pm } \) (1385) and found to be very similar. The results on strange antibaryon average multiplicities disagree strongly with a recent version of the additive quark model.  相似文献

The inclusive production of neutral kaons is studied inK + p and π+ p interactions at 250 GeV/c. Total and semi-inclusive cross sections and average kaon multiplicities are presented and compared with the data at lower energies. Results are presented on inclusive production of ∑+(1385) and ∑?(1385) inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c. The inclusive and topological cross sections have been estimated and compared with published results at lower energies. The inclusive cross section of ∑+(1385) seems to decrease with c.m. energy, while that of the ∑?(1385) is nearly constant. The mean charged multiplicity associate to Σ(1385) increases with c.m. energy. The ∑+(1385) is produced both in the target fragmentation region and in the central region where ∑?(1385) is predominantly produced in the central region. Approximately 16% of the Λ's stem from the decay of ∑±(1385) and the kinematic distributions of these Λ's are not very different from the inclusive Λ's.  相似文献

Inclusive production of direct soft photons is studied inK + p andK + π interactions at 250 GeV/c. Total cross sections, Feynman-x and transverse momentum distributions of direct γ's are presented. The measured cross sections are several times larger than expected from QED inner bremsstrahlung, indicating the presence of an anomalous soft photon source. The model of Lichard and Van Hove, based on the “cold quark-gluon plasma” picture, agrees with the data.  相似文献

Two-pion correlations are studied for pions of like charge inK + p andπ + p collisions at 250 GeV/c. An enhanced production is observed at small momentum difference and is attributed to Bose-Einstein interference between identical particles. A systematic study is presented on the influence of parametrization and reference sample. Interpreted in terms of the Kopylov-Podgoretskii parametrization a size of the emitting regionr K ≈1.4 fm is found. The Lorentz invariant parametrization of Goldhaber givesr G ≈0.8 fm. With fixed parametrization, similarity is found for hadronhadron,e + e ? and lepton-hadron collisions. No multiplicity or angular dependence is found at our energy.  相似文献

The inclusive inelastic processesK + ppX + andK + pΔ ++ X 0 are studied at an incident momentum of 70 GeV/c. The data comes from the Big European Bubble Chamber BEBC filled with hydrogen, exposed to an rf reparatedK + beam at the CERN SPS accelerator. The inclusive cross section for protons with laboratory momentump LAB≦1.2 GeV/c is equal to (6.1±0.1) mb. InclusiveΔ ++-production is studied for |t p, Δ|<1.0(GeV/c)2. Comparisons are made with otherK + p data and withpp data at 69 GeV/c. Evidence is found for Pomeron exchange at the beam vertex both for slow proton andΔ ++-production as well as for absorptive pion exchange at the (p,Δ ++) vertex.  相似文献

We have studied inclusiveΔ ++ (1232), + (1385), and ? (1385) baryon resonance production inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The inclusive and topological cross sections are estimated and compared with published results at lower energies. No energy variation of the cross section is observed forΔ ++ (1232) and only a slight decrease is seen in case of ± (1385). The production properties are investigated through longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions. TheΔ ++ (1232) is dominantly produced in the target fragmentation region. The + (1385) is produced both in the target fragmentation region and in the central region, while the ? (1385) is predominantly produced in the central region. About 20% of the final state protons are produced via aΔ ++ (1232) decay and about 25% of the Λ produced come from the decay of + (1385) and ? (1385).  相似文献

Total and semi-inclusive cross sections, longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions and spin density matrix elements of theK *+(892) andK *0(892) produced in the inclusive reactionsK + pK *+(892)+X andK + pK *0(892)+X at 32 GeV/c are studied in detail. The inclusive spectra of theK *(892) and their decay products are compared with pion and neutral kaon production. TheK *+(892) andK *+(892) are dominantly produced by kaon fragmentation processes. The dependence of average transverse momentum <p T> vs.x for resonances has been investigated for the first time.  相似文献

Multiplicity distributions and correlations between charged particles in the forward and back-ward c.m. hemispheres are studied inK ?p interactions at 110 GeV/c and compared with other data on mesonnucleon scattering. The interpretation in terms of a simple quark-parton picture assuming that the forward multiplicity is dominated by quark fragmentation and the backward multiplicity by diquark fragmentation is supported by the experimental fact that the forward and the backward mean multiplicities are approximately equal to half of thee + e ? andpp multiplicities, respectively. The 110 GeV/cK ?p data show significant correlations between the numbers of slow forward and slow backward particles, whereas the multiplicities of fast forward and fast backward particles are independent.  相似文献

Nucleon structure functions obtained from neutrino and anti-neutrino scattering on iron nuclei at high energies (E v =30 to 250 GeV) are presented. These results are compared with the results of other lepton-nucleon scattering experiments. The structure functions are used to test the validity of the Gross-Llewellyn-smith sum rule, which measures the number of valence quarks in the nucleons, and to obtain leading and second order QCD fits.  相似文献

Results are presented on total and semiinclusive cross sections, longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions of the tensor mesonsK *+(1430),K *0(1430), andf(1270) observed inK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The data are compared withK *+(892).K *0(896) and ?0 vector meson production in the same experiment. The shapes of inclusive invariantx-spectra for the strange vector and tensor mesons are found to be rather similar, after removal of diffractive and quasi-two-body channels, in agreement with quark-recombination ideas.  相似文献

Final data on topological cross sections are presented. Inclusive single particle distributions for the reactionsK + p→ π± X at 32 GeV/c are discussed and compared with data at lower energies. Early scaling in the fragmentation regions is confirmed, while cross sections in th central region continue to rise with energy even faster than inpp interactions. Thex-andp T -dependence of the π+? ratio inK + p interactions is discussed and a comparison of reactionsK + p→ π± X andK ? p→ π± X at 32 GeV/c is made in the context of constituent models. We also present transverse momentum distributions, show prominent seagull effects and study how they are influenced by resonance production.  相似文献
