We prove that an operator on H2 of the disc commutes modulo the compacts with all analytic Toeplitz operators if and only if it is a compact perturbation of a Toeplitz operator with symbol in H + C. Consequently, the essential commutant of the whole Toeplitz algebra is the algebra of Toeplitz operators with symbol in QC. The image in the Calkin algebra of the Toeplitz operators with symbol in H + C is a maximal abelian algebra. These results lead to a characterization of automorphisms of the algebra of compact perturbations of the analytic Toeplitz operators.  相似文献

Let A be an operator subalgebra in B(H), where H is a Hilbert space. We say that an element ZA is an all-derivable point of A for the norm-topology (strongly operator topology, etc.) if, every norm-topology (strongly operator topology, etc.) continuous derivable linear mapping φ at Z (i.e. φ(ST)=φ(S)T+Sφ(T) for any S,TA with ST=Z) is a derivation. In this paper, we show that every invertible operator in the nest algebra is an all-derivable point of the nest algebra for the strongly operator topology. We also prove that every nonzero element of the algebra of all 2×2 upper triangular matrixes is an all-derivable point of the algebra.  相似文献

We study the operator algebra associated with a self-mapping ? on a countable set X which can be represented as a directed graph. The algebra is generated by the family of partial isometries acting on the corresponding l2(X). We study the structure of involutive semigroup multiplicatively generated by the family of partial isometries. We formulate the criterion when the algebra is irreducible on the Hilbert space. We consider the concrete examples of operator algebras. In particular, we give the examples of nonisomorphic C*-algebras, which are the extensions by compact operators of the algebra of continuous functions on the unit circle.  相似文献

A definition of a completely bounded multilinear operator from one C1-algebra into another is introduced. Each completely bounded multilinear operator from a C1-algebra into the algebra of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space is shown to be representable in terms of 1-representations of the C1-algebra and interlacing operators. This result extends Wittstock's Theorem that decomposes a completely bounded linear operator from a C1-algebra into an injective C1-algebra into completely positive linear operators.  相似文献

We compute the essential norm of a composition operator relatively to the class of Dunford-Pettis operators or weakly compact operators, on some uniform algebras of analytic functions. Even in the context of H (resp. the disk algebra), this is new, as well for the polydisk algebras and the polyball algebras. The commutant modulo compacts, or essential commutant, of a reflexive algebra with commutative subspace lattice is a C* algebra which is the sum of the compact operators in L(H) and a C* subalgebra of the core. We give a characterization of the essential commutant of a separably acting CSL algebra in terms of properties of the spectral measure of an operator in the intersection of the essential commutant and the core. This is used to determine some sufficient conditions on the lattice for when the essential commutant is norm generated by the projections it contains.  相似文献

Let C(H) denote the C1-algebra of all compact linear operators on a complex Hilbert space H. If δ is a closable 1-derivation in C(H) which anti-commutes with an involutive 1-antiautomorphism α and has finite spatial deficiency-indices, then there exists an infinitesimal generator δ0 of a continuous action of R on C(H) which extends δ and anti-commutes with α. This is an analogue of the von Neumann's theorem which states that a symmetric operator commuting with a conjugation J has a self-adjoint extension which also commutes with J.  相似文献

The problem of construction a quantum mechanical evolution for the Schrödinger equation with a degenerate Hamiltonian which is a symmetric operator that does not have selfadjoint extensions is considered. Self-adjoint regularization of the Hamiltonian does not lead to a preserving probability limiting evolution for vectors from the Hilbert space but it is used to construct a limiting evolution of states on a C*-algebra of compact operators and on an abelian subalgebra of operators in the Hilbert space. The limiting evolution of the states on the abelian algebra can be presented by the Kraus decomposition with two terms. Both of these terms are corresponded to the unitary and shift components of Wold’s decomposition of isometric semigroup generated by the degenerate Hamiltonian. Properties of the limiting evolution of the states on the C*-algebras are investigated and it is shown that pure states could evolve into mixed states.  相似文献

Let SB(X,Y) be the set of the bounded sublinear operators from a Banach space X into a Banach lattice Y. Consider π2(X,Y) the set of 2-summing sublinear operators. We study in this paper a variation of Grothendieck's theorem in the sublinear operators case. We prove under some conditions that every operator in SB(C(K),H) is in π2(C(K),H) for any compact K and any Hilbert H. In the noncommutative case the problem is still open.  相似文献

Associated to each set S of simple roots of SL(n,C) is an equivariant fibration XXS of the complete flag variety X of Cn. To each such fibration we associate an algebra JS of operators on L2(X), or more generally on L2-sections of vector bundles over X. This ideal contains, in particular, the longitudinal pseudodifferential operators of negative order tangent to the fibres. Together, they form a lattice of operator ideals whose common intersection is the compact operators. Thus, for instance, the product of negative order pseudodifferential operators along the fibres of two such fibrations, XXS and XXT, is a compact operator if ST is the full set of simple roots. The construction of the ideals uses noncommutative harmonic analysis, and hinges upon a representation theoretic property of subgroups of SU(n), which may be described as ‘essential orthogonality of subrepresentations’.  相似文献

We prove that each 2-local derivation from the algebra Mn(A ) (n > 2) into its bimodule Mn(M) is a derivation, where A is a unital Banach algebra and M is a unital A -bimodule such that each Jordan derivation from A into M is an inner derivation, and that each 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra with a faithful traceable representation is a derivation. We also characterize local and 2-local Lie derivations on some algebras such as von Neumann algebras, nest algebras, the Jiang–Su algebra, and UHF algebras.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the well-known transitive algebra problem and reductive algebra problem on vector valued reproducing analytic Hilbert spaces. For an analytic Hilbert space H(k) with complete Nevanlinna-Pick kernel k, it is shown that both transitive algebra problem and reductive algebra problem on multiplier invariant subspaces of H(k)⊗Cm have positive answer if the algebras contain all analytic multiplication operators. Let N be a nest on a complex Banach space X with NN complemented in X whenever N-=N, and let AlgN be the associated nest algebra. We say that an operator Z∈AlgN is an all-derivable point of AlgN if every linear map δ from AlgN into itself derivable at Z (i.e. δ(A)B+Aδ(B)=δ(Z) for any A,BA with AB=Z) is a derivation. In this paper, it is shown that if Z∈AlgN is an injective operator or an operator with dense range, or an idempotent operator with ran(Z)∈N, then Z is an all-derivable point of AlgN. Particularly, if N is a nest on a complex Hilbert space, then every idempotent operator with range in N, every injective operator as well as every operator with dense range in AlgN is an all-derivable point of the nest algebra AlgN.  相似文献

Let A and B be positive operators on a Banach lattice E such that the commutator C=ABBA is also positive. The paper continues the investigation of the spectral properties of C initiated in J. Bra?i? et al. (in press) [3]. If the sum A+B is a Riesz operator and the commutator C is a power compact operator, then C is a quasi-nilpotent operator having a triangularizing chain of closed ideals of E. If we assume that the operator A is compact and the commutator ACCA is positive, the operator C is quasi-nilpotent as well. We also show that the commutator C is not invertible provided the resolvent set of C is connected.  相似文献
