For an algebra with an action of a Hopf algebra we establish the pairing between equivariant cyclic cohomology and equivariant K-theory for . We then extend this formalism to compact quantum group actions and show that equivariant cyclic cohomology is a target space for the equivariant Chern character of equivariant summable Fredholm modules. We prove an analogue of Julg's theorem relating equivariant K-theory to ordinary K-theory of the C*-algebra crossed product, and characterize equivariant vector bundles on quantum homogeneous spaces.  相似文献

In this note, the categories of coefficients for Hopf cyclic cohomology of comodule algebras and comodule coalgebras are extended. We show that these new categories have two proper different subcategories where the smallest one is the known category of stable anti Yetter–Drinfeld modules. We prove that components of Hopf cyclic cohomology such as cup products work well with these new coefficients.  相似文献

For the action of a locally compact and totally disconnected group G on a pair of locally compact spaces X and Y we construct, by sheaf theoretic means, a new equivariant and bivariant cohomology theory. If we take for the first space Y an universal proper G-action then we obtain for the second space its delocalized equivariant homology. This is in exact formal analogy to the definition of equivariant K-homology by Baum, Connes, Higson starting from the bivariant equivariant Kasparov KK-theory. Under certain basic finiteness conditions on the first space Y we conjecture the existence of a Chern character from the equivariant Kasparov KK-theory of Y and X into our cohomology theory made two-periodic which becomes an isomorphism upon tensoring the KK-theory with the complex numbers. This conjecture is proved for profinite groups G. An essential role in our construction is played by a bivariant version of Segal localization which we establish for KK-theory.  相似文献

For module algebras and module coalgebras over an arbitrary bialgebra, we define two types of bivariant cyclic cohomology groups called bivariant Hopf cyclic cohomology and bivariant equivariant cyclic cohomology. These groups are defined through an extension of Connes' cyclic category Λ. We show that, in the case of module coalgebras, bivariant Hopf cyclic cohomology specializes to Hopf cyclic cohomology of Connes and Moscovici and its dual version by fixing either one of the variables as the ground field. We also prove an appropriate version of Morita invariance for both of these theories.  相似文献

Given a Hopf algebra A, there exist various cohomology theories for the category of Hopf bimodules over A, introduced by M. Gerstenhaber and S. D. Schack, and by C. Ospel. We prove, when A is finite-dimensional, that they are all equal to the Ext functor on the module category of an associative algebra associated to A, described by C. Cibils and M. Rosso. We also give an expression for a cup-product in the cohomology defined by C. Ospel, and prove that it corresponds to the Yoneda product of extensions.  相似文献

We show that the Connes–Moscovici negative cyclic cohomology of a Hopf algebra equipped with a character has a Lie bracket of degree -2. More generally, we show that a cyclic operad with multiplication is a cocyclic module whose simplicial cohomology is a Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra and whose negative cyclic cohomology is a graded Lie algebra of degree -2. This generalizes the fact that the Hochschild cohomology algebra of a symmetric algebra is a Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra.  相似文献

We compute explicitly the bialgebra cohomology of the duals of the generalized Taft algebras, which are noncommutative, noncocommutative finite-dimensional Hopf algebras. In order to do this, we use an identification of this cohomology with an Ext algebra (Taillefer, 2004a Taillefer , R. ( 2004a ). Cohomology theories of Hopf bimodules and cup-product . We compute the equivariant K-theory K G * (G)for a compact connected Lie group Gsuch that 1 (G)is torsion free (where Gacts on itself by conjugation). We prove that K G * (G)is isomorphic to the algebra of Grothendieck differentials on the representation ring. We also study a special example of a compact connected Lie group Gwith 1 (G)torsion, namely PSU(3), and compute the corresponding equivariant K-theory.  相似文献

There have been few examples of computations of Sweedler cohomology, or its generalization in low degrees known as lazy cohomology, for Hopf algebras of positive characteristic. In this paper we first provide a detailed calculation of the Sweedler cohomology of the algebra of functions on (?/2) r , in all degrees, over a field of characteristic 2. Here the result is strikingly different from the characteristic zero analog.

Then we show that there is a variant in characteristic p of the result obtained by Kassel and the author in characteristic zero, which provides a near-complete calculation of the second lazy cohomology group in the case of function algebras over a finite group; in positive characteristic, the statement is, rather surprisingly, simpler.  相似文献

We will make a construction of twisted equivariant K-theory for proper actions of discrete groups by using ideas of Lück and Oliver (Topology 40:585–616, 2001) to expand a construction of Adem and Ruan (Comm. Math. Phys. 237:533–556, 2003).  相似文献

We establish an equivariant generalization of the Novikov inequalities which allows us to estimate the topology of the set of critical points of a closed basic invariant form by means of twisted equivariant cohomology of the manifold. We apply these inequalities to study cohomology of the fixed points set of a symplectic torus action. We show that in this case our inequalities are perfect, i.e. they are in fact equalities.  相似文献

We outline a twisted analogue of the Mishchenko–Kasparov approach to prove the Novikov conjecture on the homotopy invariance of the higher signatures. Using our approach, we give a new and simple proof of the homotopy invariance of the higher signatures associated to all cohomology classes of the classifying space that belong to the subring of the cohomology ring of the classifying space that is generated by cohomology classes of degree less than or equal to 2, a result that was first established by Connes and Gromov and Moscovici using other methods. A key new ingredient is the construction of a tautological C* r (, )-bundle and connection, which can be used to construct a C* r (, )-index that lies in the Grothendieck group of C* r (, ), where is a multiplier on the discrete group corresponding to a degree 2 cohomology class. We also utilise a main result of Hilsum and Skandalis to establish our theorem.  相似文献

A New Cyclic Module for Hopf Algebras   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We define a new cyclic module, dual to the Connes–Moscovici cocyclic module, for Hopf algebras, and give a characteristic map for coactions of Hopf algebras. We also compute the resulting cyclic homology for cocommutative Hopf algebras, and some quantum groups.  相似文献

A cyclic cohomology theory adapted to Hopf algebras has been introduced recently by Connes and Moscovici. In this paper, we consider this object in the homological framework, in the spirit of Loday and Quillen and Karoubi's work on the cyclic homology of associative algebras. In the case of group algebras, we interpret the decomposition of the classical cyclic homology of a group algebra in terms of this homology. We also compute both cyclic homologies for truncated quiver algebras.  相似文献

We develop intrinsic tools for computing the periodic Hopf cyclic cohomology of Hopf algebras related to transverse symmetry in codimension 1. Besides the Hopf algebra found by Connes and the first author in their work on the local index formula for transversely hypoelliptic operators on foliations, this family includes its ‘Schwarzian’ quotient, on which the Rankin-Cohen universal deformation formula is based, the extended Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra related to renormalization of divergences in QFT, as well as a series of cyclic coverings of these Hopf algebras, motivated by the treatment of transverse symmetry for non-orientable foliations. The method for calculating their Hopf cyclic cohomology is based on two computational devices, which work in tandem and complement each other: one is a spectral sequence for bicrossed product Hopf algebras and the other a Cartan-type homotopy formula in Hopf cyclic cohomology.  相似文献

We propose a technique for calculating the cohomology of a Poisson algebra using the Laplace transformation of distributions with compact support. We find the lowest-order cohomologies of this algebra with coefficients in two natural representations: the trivial and the adjoint representations.  相似文献

For a smooth projective surface X over C, we construct uncountably many non-torsion cycles in CH2(X) which die in the dilogarithmic cohomology of S. Bloch whenever there is an Abelian variety A and a correspondence δ in CH2(X × A) which induces non-zero map on the spaces of global 2-forms. In case X = E × E with E an elliptic curve, all of albanese kernel dies in any such analytic cohomology. Similar results are obtained for higher dimensional varieties under the condition of existence of non-trivial decomposable 2-forms.  相似文献
