Membranes, based on tri-n-octylamine (TOA) xylene liquid, supported in hydrophobic microporous films have been used to study the transport of Pd(II) ions, after extraction into the membrane. Various parameters, such as the effect of hydrochloric acid concentration in the feed solution, TOA concentration in the membrane phase, effect of stripping agent like nitric acid concentration, and temperature on the flux of Pd(II) ions across the liquid membranes have been investigated. The optimum conditions of transport for these metal ions determined are, TOA concentration, 1.25 mol·dm–3, HCl concentration in the feed solution, 5 mol·dm–3, and concentration of nitric acid used as a stripping, agent 5 mol·dm–3. The maximum values of the flux and permeability determined under the optimum condition are 23·10–6 mol·m–2·s–1 and 2.40·103 m2·s–1 at 25°C. The results obtained have been used to elucidate the mechanism of palladium transport.  相似文献

The extraction of chromium (VI) ions from acidic solutions containing various metal ions by emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) was studied. Liquid membrane consists of a diluent, a surfactant, and an extractant. 0.5 M ammonium carbonate solution was used as stripping solution. Effects of acid concentration in feed solution, type and concentration of stripping solution, mixing speed, surfactant concentration, phase ratio and the influence of membrane characteristics were studied and optimum conditions were determined. Under the optimum conditions, extraction of chromium (VI) was tested and it was possible to selectively extract 99% of chromium from the acidic feed solution. This study also examined the effect of extractant concentration and acid type in the feed solution on the extraction of Cr (VI) ions and almost all of Cr (VI) from the acidic feed solution containing 500 mg/L from each of Co (II), Ni (II), Cd (II), Zn (II), and Cu (II) ions, and 100–500 mg/L Cr (VI) was extracted within 5–10 min.  相似文献

Transport of Ag+ as Ag(CN)2 ions through a bulk liquid membrane is reported. The bulk liquid membrane used is a solution of Victoria blue (VB) in chloroform. The effects of pH of the source phase, cyanide concentration in the source phase, sodium hydroxide in the receiving phase, and VB concentration in the organic phase on the efficiency of the transport system were studied. The above system has a high selectivity for Ag+ and can selectively and efficiently transport Ag(CN)2 ion from aqueous solutions containing other cations such as alkali and alkaline earths, Zn2+, Pd2+, Cu2+, Cd2+,Hg2+, Co2+, Fe2+, Pb2+, Ni2+, and Al3+.  相似文献

By considering the resistances of rare-earth ions in both the external and membrane phases, the interfacial reaction and the membrane breakage, a mathematical model for the extraction of rare-earth ions by batch emulsion liquid membrane process is established. Further, two simplified mass transfer equations are also derived from the proposed model in each of the specified cases. The validity of both the model and the resulting equations are tested by batch extraction of Sm3+ with emulsion liquid membrane containing di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid as a carrier in kerosene. The experimental results show that both the proposed model and the resulting equations can simulate mass transfer process satisfactorily.  相似文献

A method has been developed to enhance the liquid membrane extraction of heavy metals such as cobalt, copper and nickel. The method consists of introducing anion ligands, such as acetate, to the aqueous solution containing metal ions. In the absence of a ligand in the aqueous phase, it takes about 15 min for a 80% cobalt recovery, while only 2 min are needed for a 95% recovery with the addition of 0.1 M acetate in the feed solution. The ligand effects on liquid membrane extraction are rationalized in terms of the labile nature of the ligand—metal complexes, the distribution coefficients of the metal ions, the interfacial and surface tensions, and by the nuclear magnetic r̀esonance (NMR) spectra of the metal—organic complexes.  相似文献

The separation of Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions was studied in an aqueous sulphate medium using supported liquid membrane (SLM). D2EHPA/M2EHPA was used as a mobile carrier, microporous hydrophobic PTFE film was used as a solid support for the liquid membrane, and the strip phase was sulphuric acid. The effects of different parameters such as feed concentration, carrier concentration, feed phase pH, and strip phase pH on the separation factor and flux of Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions were studied. The optimum values obtained to achieve the maximum flux were 5.0 for feed pH, 40 vol. % for D2EHPA/M2EHPA concentration in the membrane phase, 0.5 for strip pH, and 0.012 mass % for feed concentration. Under these optimum conditions, the flux values of Cd(II) and Ni(II) were 15.7 × 10?7 kg m?2 s?1 and 2.6 × 10?7 kg m?2 s?1, respectively. The separation factors of Cd(II) over Ni(II) were studied under different experimental conditions. At a carrier concentration of 10 vol. % and feed concentration of 0.012 mass %, the maximum value of 185.1 was obtained for the separation factor of Cd(II) over Ni(II). After 24 h, the percentages of the extracted Cd(II) and Ni(II) were 83.3 % and 0.45 %, respectively.  相似文献

The extraction of chromium(VI) from aqueous hydrochloric, nitric and sulfuric acid solutions by diphenyl-2-pyridylmethane(DPPM) dissolved in chloroform has been studied. Chromium(VI) is quantitatively extracted from hydrochloric acid solutions in the range 0.1–1M. With increasing acid concentration, the extraction of chromium diminishes and in concentrated acid solutions practically all the chromium remains in the aqueous phase. The quantitative back-extraction of chromium from the organic phase is possible with HCl or HNO3 at concentrations higher than 5M through the use of reducing agents. The composition of the extracted chromium(VI) species was studied in solution. The complexes (DPPMH)+HCrO 4 and (DPPMH)2Cr2O 7 are extracted for tracer and macro amounts of chromium(VI) respectively. The data have been utilized for the separation of chromium(VI) from base metal ions.  相似文献

Pertraction of U(VI) from HNO3 feed into water through flat-sheet supported liquid membrane containing a series of monoamides, viz. N,N-dihexylhexanamide (DHHA), N,N-dihexyloctanamide (DHOA) and N,N-dihexyldecanamide (DHDA), as the carrier ligands were studied. The results obtained with monoamides were compared with those obtained with TBP, a contemporary ligand to monoamides. The permeation of U(VI) was primarily governed by the distribution ratio of U(VI) by the ligands. A mathematical equation was derived by solving the mass balance equation on the feed side and the receiver side of the membrane which fitted well to a series of experimental results in the present work.

A study of the process of electrodialytic recovery of chromium(VI) from a solution of 0.01 M K2Cr2O7 in 0.1 M HCl with liquid membranes containing tri-n-octylamine with addition of di(2-ethyl hexyl)phosphoric acid in1,2-dichloroetrhane to dilute solutions of various acids determined the optimal process conditions: electrodialysis current density and the composition of the starting and receiving aqueous solutions and liquid membranes. It was found that all the liquid membranes studied provide a complete recovery of chromium(VI) anions from the starting solution.  相似文献

Pickering emulsion is the replacement of surfactants with solid, often nano-sized particles. The particle-stabilized emulsions have good thermodynamic and kinetic stability. Pickering emulsion liquid membrane (PELM) was prepared using mahua oil as a diluent, aliquat 336 (Trioctyl methylammonium chloride) as a carrier and amphiphilic silica nanowires (ASNWs) (10–40?ml ethanol addition) as a surfactant. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was used as stripping phase in the concentration range from 0.1 to 0.5?M for the extraction of hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)] from aqueous solution. The variety of edible and non-edible oils was investigated for the stability of water in oil emulsion. Factors that influence silica-stabilized Pickering emulsions are pH, agitation speed, stripping phase concentration, the volume ratio of membrane to stripping phase (M/S), initial feed concentration, treat ratio(feed to emulsion volume ratio) and surfactant concentration for better PELM stability. And also, the extraction efficiency of Cr (VI) was investigated using aliquat as a carrier. The physicochemical properties of ASNWs were studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transforms Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) techniques. At an optimum condition, 99.69% of Cr (VI) removal from aqueous solution was obtained.  相似文献

A rapid and selective method has been developed for the extraction of W(VI) with rhodamine-B in nitrobenzene. The extraction coefficient value for the extraction between aqueous solution and nitrobenzene showed a maximum value of E=63 at a pH of 5.0. The stoichiometry of metal to reagent has been determined by the method of substoichiometric extraction and slope ratio method.  相似文献

Synthetic models leading to oxosulfidotungsten(VI) groups and dithiolene chelate rings have been investigated. The heterogeneous reaction systems [WO4-nSn]2-/2Ph3SiCl/Me4phen (n = 0-2) in acetonitrile afford the complexes [WQ2(OSiPh3)2(Me4phen)] (1-3) in the indicated yields containing the groups W(VI)O2 (1; 86%), W(VI)O2 (2; 45%), and W(VI)S2 (3; 83%). In the crystalline state these complexes have imposed C2 symmetry, with cis-oxo/sulfido and trans-silyloxide ligands. 1H NMR spectra indicate that this stereochemistry is retained in solution. The colors of 2 (yellow, 367 nm) and 3 (orange, 451 nm) arise from LMCT absorptions at the indicated wavelengths. These results demonstrate that the silylation procedure previously introduced for the preparation of molecules with the Mo(VI)OS group (Thapper, et al. Inorg. Chem. 1999, 38, 4104) extends to tungsten. Methods for the formation of dithiolene chelate rings MS2C2R2 in reactions with sulfide-bound M = Mo or W precursors are summarized. In a known reaction type, 3 and activated acetylenes rapidly form [W(IV)(OSiPh3)2(Me4phen)(S2C2R2)] (R = CO2Me, 4, 83%, and Ph, 5, 98%). In a new reaction type not requiring the isolation of an intermediate, the systems [MO2S2]2-/2Ph3SiCl/Me4phen/PhC=CPh in acetonitrile afford 5 (68%) and [Mo(IV)(OSiPh3)2(Me4phen)(S2C2Ph2)] (6; 61%). Complexes 5 and 6 are isostructural, maintain the trans-silyloxide stereochemistry, and exhibit chelate ring dimensions indicative of ene- 1,2-dithiolate coordination. Reductions in the -1.4 to -1.7 V range are described as metal-centered. It remains to be seen whether the oxo/sulfidotungsten(VI) groups in 1-3 eventuate in the active sites of tungstoenzymes. In some situations, it is no longer sufficient to give a total concentration of a metal. Instead, what is required to understand the potential toxicity of a sample is the concentration of metal species or oxidation state. When developing species specific methods, the major concern is that the integrity of the species ratio is not changed. In other words, the sample preparation or the analytical method will not convert metal ions from one oxidation state to another. Normal extraction techniques and chromatography methods have shown some tendencies to change species ratios. An ideal extraction method would extract the metal efficiently while retaining the metal's oxidation state. The properties of supercritical fluids should approach the ideal of retention of oxidation states. For example, the need for speciation of chromium is obvious since Cr(III) is considered an essential element while Cr(VI) is thought to be toxic and carcinogenic. This paper presents the results of a species specific extraction of Cr(VI) using two different carbamate derivatives as the chelator. Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) coupled with a fluorinated dithiocarbamate and a methanol modifier allows extraction of 1 ppm Cr(VI) from a solid matrix with a recovery level of 88.4+/-2.57% using the NIST standard sample. The optimized conditions using the HP 7680 supercritical fluid extractor were: 0.1 ml of methanol, 0.05 ml of pure water, and 0.01 g of chelate via a saturation chamber.  相似文献

The unique physical and chemical properties of room-temperature ionic liquids(RTILs) have recently received increasing attention as solvent alternatives for possible application in the field of nuclear industry, particularly in liquid-liquid separations of radioactive nuclides. We investigated solvent extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solutions into a commonly used ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide([C4mim][NTf2]) using trioctylphosphine oxide(TOPO) as an extractant. The effects of contact time, TOPO concentration, acidity, and nitrate ions on the U(VI) extraction are discussed in detail. The extraction mechanism was proposed based on slope analysis and UV-Vis measurement. The results clearly show that TOPO/[C4mim][NTf2] provides a highly efficient extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solution under near-neutral conditions. When the TOPO concentration was 10 mmol/L, the extraction of 1 mmol/L U(VI) was almost complete( 97%). Both the extraction efficiency and distribution coefficient were much larger than in conventional organic solvents such as dichloromethane. Slope analysis confirmed that three TOPO molecules in [C4mim][NTf2] bound with one U(VI) ion and one nitrate ion was also involved in the complexation and formed the final extracted species of [UO2(NO3)(TOPO)3]+. Such a complex suggests that extraction occurs by a cation-exchange mode, which was subsequently evidenced by the fact that the concentration of C4mim+ in the aqueous phase increased linearly with the extraction percent of U(VI) recorded by UV-Vis measurement.  相似文献

In this study, a novel flat-type synergic-supported liquid membrane was evaluated with a mixture of N-methyl-N,N,N-trioctylammonium chloride (Aliquat 336) and tributyl phosphate (TBP) as the carrier and kerosene as the diluent to remove Cr(VI) from synthetic waste water. The main parameters involved in the process were identified and optimised. The parameters were divided into two groups, those that were independent and those having an interaction. The parameters of the carrier/kerosene volumetric proportion and stirring rate were optimised individually due to their nature. The optimal values of these parameters were 0.5 and 500 min?1, respectively, for a constant carrier/kerosene ratio and stirring rate in the designed experiments using the response surface method (RSM). The four parameters of TBP/Aliquat 336, chromium concentration in the feed phase, feed and product pH were optimised using RSM; it was observed that the TBP/Aliquat 336 ratio, feed pH, pH of the stripping phase and interaction of this parameter with feed concentration have the most important effects on the removal of Cr(VI). The optimal levels of these parameters were 0.61, 71.75 mg L?1, 3.5 and 12.66 for the ratio of TBP/Aliquat 336, feed chromium concentration, pH of the feed and pH of the product, respectively. An experimental removal rate of 94.63 % at the optimized levels was obtained.  相似文献

Manganese(II) complex of (E)-2-(hydroxyl-5-methoxybenzylideneamino) phenol was synthesized and used as a suitable Mn(II) – selective membrane in PVC matrix. The plasticized membrane sensor exhibits a nersian response for Mn(II) ions over a wide concentration range of 6 × 10?6–2 × 10?2 M with slope of 29 ± 1 mV per decade. It has a response time of <11 s and can be used for 2 months without any measurable divergence in potential. The response of the proposed sensor is independent of pH between 4 and 9.5. The proposed sensor shows a fairly good discriminating ability towards Mn(II) in comparison with some hard and soft metals. The electrode was used in the determination of Mn(II) in aqueous solutions and as an indicator electrode in potentiometer titration of manganese ions against EDTA.  相似文献
