This paper describes the experimental results obtained at the transport of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5ASA) through agitated bulk liquid membrane, using Aliquat 336, as carrier, dissolved in a chloroform membrane. The influence of 5-aminosalicylic acid concentration in the feed source, HCl concentration in the stripping phase and carrier (Aliquat 336) concentration in the membrane were investigated. The optimal pH condition of feed source was established based on the speciation diagram of 5-aminosalicylic acid. The assessment of the transport process was performed by determining the kinetic parameters—mass transfer coefficient and entrance and exist flow in and out of the chloroform membrane.  相似文献

The facilitated transport of several types of saccharidess has been studied across a supported liquid membrane containing a resorcinarene carrier. The rate-determining step is believed to be the migration of a carrier-saccharide-water ternary complex in the organic solvent. The transport kinetics obey a saturation law, that allows the calculation of the stability constants of the various complexes. The stability constants are related to the saccharide structures: important factors are chain length, configuration and substitution of key hydroxyl groups.  相似文献

It is well known that the asymmetry of a membrane structure is closely related to its functions. Transport of ions is also affected by the asymmetry of the membrane structure. In this paper, ion transport through an asymmetric membrane is discussed theoretically. Equations are derived for the partition coefficient and the fixed charge density of a membrane with different surfaces. It is concluded that facilitated transport as well as reverse transport takes place both in membranes which are asymmetric with respect to the partition coefficient and in membranes with asymmetric charge distribution. In addition, the following two kinds of asymmetric membranes were prepared: one is a cellulose acetate—collodion membrane, which is asymmetric with respect to the partition coefficient, and the other is an NaOH-treated collodion—collodion membrane, which is asymmetric with respect to the membrane charge density. Ion transport through these membranes was investigated in order to verify the validity of the theory; the experimental results are in agreement with the theory.  相似文献

Permeation of chloride and bromide through Nafion 117 modified with hydrophobic metal complexes of Eu3+ and Pr3+ with thenoyl trifluoro acetone (TTA), β-isopropyl tropolone (IPT) and 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) has been studied. The complexes were precipitated within the polymer bed with an aqueous–alcoholic solution of the reagents at a pH between 5 and 6. The permeation fluxes of the halides have been calculated by measuring the concentrations of the anions in the receiving solutions using ion chromatography. The high flux values have been attributed to the direct coordination of the inorganic anions to the central metal ions in their complexes. The chloride ion having a smaller radius and higher free energy of hydration as compared to bromide, showed higher permeation. The cations associated with the corresponding anion is also transported along with the anion. The size of the accompanying cation has a strong influence on anion permeation.  相似文献

Polyethylenimine (PEI)/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blend membranes were prepared for the facilitated transport of CO2. The polymeric carrier PEI was retained in the blend membrane by the entanglement with PVA chains. The CO2 permeance decreased with an increase in CO2 partial pressure in feed gas, whereas the N2 permeance was nearly constant. This result clearly showed that only CO2 was transported by the facilitated transport mechanism. The CO2 and N2 permeabilities increased monotonically with the PEI weight percent in the blend membrane, whereas the selectivity of CO2 over N2 showed a maximum. The selectivity increased remarkably with increasing heat-treatment temperature of the membrane. The highest selectivity obtained reached more than 230 when the CO2 partial pressure was 0.065 atm. The prepared membrane was stable.  相似文献

In the present investigation, p-morpholinomethylcalix[4]arene (1) has been examined as a carrier in supported liquid membrane (SLM) for Cu(II) transport. The influence of different parameters, such as solvent, membrane dipping time, support membrane, co-anions, donor and acceptor pH, and carrier concentration on Cu(II) transport, was checked. The permeability values were calculated by using Danesi mass transfer model. Higher Cu(II) permeability was observed in diphenyl ether, with 1 h dipping time, Celgard 2500 and Cl? as co-anion. The optimum pH for donor phase was 2 and that for acceptor phase was neutral at 10?3 M carrier concentration. Diffusion coefficients were calculated using Reinhoudt's model, lag time measurements as well as by Wilke–Chang relation and compared. The transport was found to be diffusion-controlled in the membrane phase and the diffusion coefficient was calculated to be 1.54 × 10?10 m/s whereas the extraction constant was calculated to be 1.19 × 10?5 m/s.  相似文献

In this paper, an overview is given on membranes with oxygen facilitated transport properties to enrich the oxygen content in air. Special emphasis is paid to recent developments of oxygen carrier systems and carrier containing membranes. Concepts leading to a structural evolution of supported liquid membranes are discussed in view of ion as well as gas separation processes. As a new concept, micro-encapsulated liquid membranes are introduced, in which a mobile carrier operates in the interior of liquid droplets that are encapsulated and dispersed in a solid polymer matrix and routes to prepare the new membranes described.  相似文献

A liquid membrane consisting of a crown ether carboxylic acid dissolved in chloroform placed between a basic source aqueous solution and an acidic receiving aqueous solution was observed in a holographic interferometer to transport potassium ion by coupled counter-ion transport. Steady-state transport was achieved and quite precise measurements of the rate of transport made. The evolution of concentration gradients as a function of time was directly observed.  相似文献

A model of diffusive transport of benzoic acid through a liquid membrane (LM) separating two aqueous solutions, based on diffusion layers and the assumption of a steady state, has been developed and tested using experimental results. It has been found that a model with the apparent partition coefficient dependent on the concentration is able to describe the time dependence of acid concentration in LM with and without a maximum on that dependence. The quality of the model fit with the single apparent diffusion coefficient of benzoic acid is the same as the one which takes into account the diffusion of benzoic acid in different forms (undissociated and dissociated form in aqueous phase, monomer and dimer in organic phase); however, in the second case, the model becomes overparameterized. Assuming that the partition and diffusion coefficients are constant, the diffusion layer model corresponds to the model of reversible consecutive reactions. Analytical solution for such case is given. Apart from the partition equilibrium, also kinetics of partitioning was considered. It was shown that in some basic situations both cases yield identical results.  相似文献

In this work we compare the efficiency of facilitated transport of CO2 across a liquid membrane by different facilitators as tested in either a supported liquid membrane (SLM) or a hollow fiber contained liquid membrane (HFCLM) configuration. Permeance and selectivity were evaluated by both experimental test and numerical simulation. These comparisons were used to define the best liquid membrane composition to maximize separation performance. We also consider other factors that affect the choice of the facilitator, e.g. operation temperature and cost. Under ambient operating conditions, carbonic anhydrase (CA) combined with an alkaline carbonate gives better performance than does diethanolamine (DEA).  相似文献

A new oxygen/nitrogen separation membrane based on an ionomer of sulfonated EPDM (ethylene-propene-diene terpolymer) containing Co2+ ions was synthesized and investigated. It was found that the oxygen permeability coefficient and the separation factor for O2/N2 of the ionomer membrane are simultaneously enhanced at lower gas pressure difference. This result is believed to be caused by a polymer coordinate complex formed in the ionomer. ESR spectra provided an evidence of the cobalt-oxygen adduct.  相似文献

This work focuses on the application of polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) with tricaprylmethylammonium thiosalicylate, [A336][TS] (TOMATS), a thiol-containing task-specific ionic liquid for the transport of Pd(II) ions from aqueous solutions. 0.3 M thiourea in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid was found the most effective stripping phase in the transport of Pd(II) from membrane phase containing TOMATS. Separation of Pd(II) ions was also carried out from hydrochloric acid solution containing Pt(IV), Fe(III), Ni(II), and Mn(II). Pd(II) ions were preferably transported in the presence of these metal ions. The separation coefficients followed the order: S Pd/Pt < S Pd/Fe < S Pd/Ni < S Pd/Mn. [A336][TS] proved to be an excellent ion carrier for Pd(II) from hydrochloric acid solution. The results also showed that transport efficiency of the PIM was reproducible and it can be useful for the development of the simple and highly effective method of Pd(II) recovery from leach liquor of spent catalysts.  相似文献

A new efficient system for transporting saccharides through a liquid membrane has been constructed. The transport rates of saccharides were accelerated greatly by the cyclodextrin dimer 2; by contrast, the corresponding cyclodextrin monomer 1 was not effective at mediating saccharide transport. The transport rate of D-ribose through a chloroform liquid membrane was 17 times faster when the cyclodextrin dimer 2 was used as the transporter than when the cyclodextrin monomer 1 was used. Similarly the transport rate of methyl D-galactopyranoside was 16 times faster by 2 than by 1.  相似文献

The potential of 3-phenyl-4-benzoylisoxazol-5-one (HPBI) as metal extractant has been evaluated for the first time for Cu(II) transport from aqueous nitrate solutions by supported liquid membrane (SLM) in the solvents chloroform, 2-nitro phenyl octyl ether (NPOE) and dodecyl nitro phenyl ether (DNPE). The efficiency of the membrane transport was optimized as a function of pH, temperature, aqueous phases and membrane composition. It follows the sequence CHCl3 > DNPE > NPOE. The results suggested that the transport mechanism was mainly controlled by the diffusion of the Cu(PBI)2 complex in the membrane core. A comparative investigation of Cu(II) transport ions has been made between SLM and polymeric plasticized membrane (PPM), containing HPBI with NPOE and DNPE as organic solvents or plasticizers in order to evaluate the feasibility of PPM with HPBI.  相似文献

Cation fluxes were determined for various three-component, equimolar mixtures of alkali metal, alkaline earth, and Pb2+ cations in a H2O---CHCl3---H2O liquid membrane system incorporating macrocyclic polyethers as carriers. Carrier ligands studied were 18-crown-6, dicyclohexano-18-crown-6, 1,10-diaza-18-crown-6, 21-crown-7, dibenzo-24-crown-8, and cryptand [2.2.2]. Correlations were found between transport and relative cation:polyether cavity radii, the type of substituents present on the polyether ring, and the type and number of donor atoms present. All the ligands studied transported Pb2+ at higher rates than the other Mn+ in the mixtures. Transport behavior in these multi-cation systems can be predicted from Mn+—polyether complex stability constant data in most cases.  相似文献

The transport of methanol through Nafion® membrane in diffusion cell is investigated using the open circuit potential method at different initial methanol concentration solutions. A simple mathematical model based on quasi-steady-state diffusion for the transport of methanol across the membrane in a diffusion cell is developed to simulate the experimental data in order to measure the methanol permeability. The influence of the diffusion cell parameters and thickness of the membrane on the methanol permeability measurement has been evaluated and analyzed. By means of Maclaurin expansion technique, this model can be used to predict the deviation of methanol permeability determined by steady-state diffusion model.  相似文献

The results presented in this work deal with the prime application of activated composite membranes (ACMs) for the transport of Hg(II) ions in a continuous extraction–re-extraction system using di-(2-ethylhexyl)dithiophosphoric acid (DTPA) as carrier. The effects of variables such as the pH, the nature of the acid and the concentration of the casting solutions on the transport of Hg(II) are also investigated. When the ACM was prepared with a 0.5 M DTPA solution and when the feed solution contained 2.5×10–4 M Hg(II) in 0.1 M HCl, the amount of mercury extracted was greater than 76%. The re-extracted mercury was subsequently recovered by means of a stripping phase comprising 0.3 M thiourea solution in 2 M H2SO4, yielding 54% of the initial amount of mercury after transport had taken place for 180 min.  相似文献
