集值或单值增算子变分不等式的有限维近似

将非线性变分不等式的有限维近似理论用来处理带集值增算子的变分不等式,得到近似解的存在性及收敛性定理。对一种特殊的单值情形,给出了收敛性理论及误差估计。     

ESTIMATIONS OF THE CONSTANTS IN INVERSE INEQUALITIES FOR FINITE ELEMENT FUNCTIONS

In this paper, we estimate the constants in the inverse inequalities for the finite ele- ment functions. Furthermore, we obtain the least upper bounds of the constants in inverse inequalities for the low-order finite element functions. Such explicit estimates of the con- stants can be used as computable error bounds for the finite element method.

本文利用W—对应，推广了Kok Keong Tan等人证明的变分不等式，并在H空间中，利用新的连续选择定理建立了一个广义变分不等式。     

SINGLE PROJECTION ALGORITHM FOR VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES IN BANACH SPACES WITH APPLICATION TO CONTACT PROBLEM

We study the single projection algorithm of Tseng for solving a variational inequality problem in a 2-uniformly convex Banach space. The underline cost function of the variational inequality is assumed to be monotone and Lipschitz continuous. A weak convergence result is obtained under reasonable assumptions on the variable step-sizes. We also give the strong convergence result for when the underline cost function is strongly monotone and Lipchitz continuous. For this strong convergence case, the proposed method does not require prior knowledge of the modulus of strong monotonicity and the Lipschitz constant of the cost function as input parameters, rather, the variable step-sizes are diminishing and non-summable. The asymptotic estimate of the convergence rate for the strong convergence case is also given. For completeness, we give another strong convergence result using the idea of Halpern's iteration when the cost function is monotone and Lipschitz continuous and the variable step-sizes are bounded by the inverse of the Lipschitz constant of the cost function.Finally, we give an example of a contact problem where our proposed method can be applied.

EXISTENCE AND UNIQUENESS OF PERIODIC SOLUTIONS FOR GRADIENT SYSTEMS IN FINITE DIMENSIONAL SPACES

This paper deals with an abstract periodic gradient system in which the gradient is taken with respect to a variable metric. We obtain an existence and uniqueness result via the application of a global inverse theorem.

MULTI-LEVEL ADAPTIVE CORRECTIONS IN FINITE DIMENSIONAL APPROXIMATIONS

Based on the Boolean sum technique, we introduce and analyze in this paper a class of multi-level iterative corrections for finite dimensional approximations. This type of multi-level corrections is adaptive and can produce highly accurate approximations. For illustration, we present some old and new finite element correction schemes for an elliptic boundary value problem.     

HILBERT SPACES ASSOCIATED WITH SECOND ORDER ELLIPTIC OPERATORS AND APPLICATIONS TO BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS AND VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES

Abstract

Boundary value problems and variational inequalities, associated with second order elliptic operators, will be studied in a Hilbert space framework. In this space, functions will have (at least) locally square integrable derivatives of order up to two. Also the conormal derivative, extended by continuity, will be square integrable on the boundary of the region considered. Criteria for approximating elements of the Hilbert space by smooth functions will be given and thus closed convex sets, associated with inequalities on the boundary, exist.

The idea of the present approach originated from the method suggested by Lions and Magenes, for putting some regular elliptic problems in the variational setting. The differential equation is multiplied by Qv, with Q some operator and v a function and the result is integrated as required.
