Functionalization of cellulosic okra fibers was carried out by graft copolymerization of acrylamide in the presence of ascorbic acid and hydrogen peroxide as redox initiator in aqueous medium. Different reaction parameters such as time, temperature, initiator concentration, and monomer concentration were optimized to obtain the maximum graft yield. The graft copolymerized fibers were characterized by FT-IR, TGA, and X-ray diffraction techniques. Further, chemically modified fibers were used for removal of Zn2+ and Cd2+ toxic metal ions from contaminated water. The effect of pH, contact time, and metal ion concentration was studied in batch mode experiments. The kinetics of adsorption were studied using pseudo-first and pseudo-second-order kinetic models. The adsorption isotherm was studied using Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The Langmuir model was found to fit the equilibrium data well.  相似文献

研究了纳米TiO_2对Se(Ⅳ)的吸附行为,考察了不同吸附材料、吸附剂用量、溶液pH、吸附时间、温度等因素对吸附作用的影响.结果表明,纳米TiO_2对Se(Ⅳ)的吸附在3min基本达到平衡;pH为5.0时,Se(Ⅳ)可被纳米TiO_2定量吸附,吸附率接近97%;吸附过程符合二级动力学模式,吸附等温线数据能较好的用Lamgmuir和D-R等温模式描述,吸附热力学参数△H_θ.和△G~θ为负值,说明该吸附过程为自发的放热过程.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Two nanostructured hybrid materials are reported that include uncoated magnetic nanoiron oxides and magnetic nanoiron oxides treated with rose leaf extract. Atomic and molecular absorption spectrometry were used to evaluate the sensitivity of these materials for the isolation of Cr(VI), Zn(II), Pb(II), and Ca(II) from aqueous solution. The structure and physicochemical properties of the resulting nanohybrids were characterized by scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The results show that following 15?min of contact in acidic solution, the uncoated magnetic nanoiron oxides removed approximately 90% of Cr(VI), while the magnetic nanoiron oxides coated with rose leaf extract removed 92% of the analyte. These correspond to most industrial wastewater conditions. For the removal of Ca(II) and Zn(II), it was necessary to adjust the pH to neutral to maximize the efficiency. Pb(II) showed maximum removal efficiency when the solution is basic. The simple rose extract suspension was also used for metal removal with high capacity. The results demonstrate that the magnetic nanoiron oxides were uniformly distributed in the rose leaf extract. The extract served as a capping agent due to the presence of polyphenolics.  相似文献

The present study explores surface modification of Abelmoschus esculentus by graft copolymerization reaction using acrylonitrile as a monomer and ascorbic acid/H2O2 as a redox initiator. Further, polyacrylonitrile grafted fibers were treated with hydroxylamine to convert the nitrile group of the grafted fiber into the amidoxime group to enhance adsorption of copper ions from wastewater. The graft copolymers and amidoximated fibers were characterized by FT-IR and FE-SEM. The effects of physicochemical parameters such as pH of the solution, initial metal ion concentration, and time on Cu(II) adsorption were studied to optimize condition for maximum adsorption. In addition, Langmuir, Freundlich, and Tempkin models were applied to describe the adsorption isotherm of Cu2+ ions.  相似文献

研究了阴离子十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)、阳离子十六烷基三甲基溴化铵(CTAB)和非离子聚乙二醇辛基苯基醚(OP)等三种不同类型的表面活性剂对疏水化水溶性两性纤维素接枝共聚物(CGAO)溶液粘度性质的影响.结果表明,在SDS和OP的临界胶束浓度(cmc)附近,CGAO溶液粘度最大,SDS引起CGAO粘度的变化大于OP;即使在CTAB的cmc附近,随着CTAB浓度的增加,CGAO的粘度一直呈下降趋势;非疏水改性的纤维素接枝共聚物的溶液粘度随SDS或CTAB浓度的增加而下降,但几乎不随OP浓度的增大而变化.此外,通过凝胶渗透色谱法测得的保留时间证实了SDS、CTAB和OP与CGAO之间的疏水缔合作用.  相似文献

The removal of cobalt ions from dilute aqueous solutions using cross linked calcium alginate beads as the adsorbent is reported in this article. The influence of various experimental parameters such as pH, initial metal ion concentration, contact time and solid to liquid ratio were studied. The adsorption data were applied to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations and various static parameters were calculated. It was observed that the uptake of cobalt ions was found to increase with time and that maximum adsorption was obtained within the first 60 minutes of the process. These results indicate that the cross linked calcium alginate beads have potential for removing cobalt ions from industrial waste water.  相似文献

Summary: The graft copolymers of Polyacrylamide (PAA) to Dextran (Mw = 20000 and Mw = 70000) have been synthesised by ceric-ion-reduced redox initiation method. Molecular characteristic of graft copolymers were determined from light scattering, SEC, and viscometry data. It was established that the increase of molecular weight of Dextran component up to 3.5 times do not influence essentially organization at molecular level of these copolymers in aqueous solution. Nowadays, very coarse wool fibers are considered waste biomass and are discarded at random or burned. Therefore, it is of actual interest to valorize coarse wool fibers as utile products. In this sense, we report herein an environmentally-friendly process for the preparation of a new material based on oxidized wool fibers and designed for efficient adsorption of heavy metals from wastewater. The morphology and the structure of the obtained product were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with an X-ray energy-dispersive module (EDX) and by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Likewise, the performances of the oxidized wool fibers for the adsorption of heavy metal cations (Cu2+, Cd2+, Pb2+) from aqueous solutions were tested. The adsorption kinetics data were analyzed by applying the pseudo-first-order (PFO) and pseudo-second-order (PSO) kinetic models. The equilibrium of the adsorption process was investigated by using the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm models. According to the Langmuir isotherms registered at 300 K, the maximum adsorption capacities of the oxidized wool were found to increase from Cu2+ (9.41 mg/g) and Cd2+ (10.42 mg/g) to Pb2+ (30.71 mg/g). Consequently, the removal efficiency of metal ions was found to vary in the range of 96.8–99.7%. The thermodynamic parameters (e.g., enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy) were calculated and discussed.  相似文献

建立了香蕉皮快速、高效对重金属离子铅吸附性能的方法。采用分光光度法测定重金属离子铅的浓度,分别研究了7种不同形态的吸附剂对废水中重金属离子铅的吸附性能。在优化的实验条件下,重金属离子铅浓度与吸光度的线性相关系数R=0.999 83,且方法相对标准偏差(RSD)低于3%。结果表明,香蕉皮对废水中的重金属离子铅有良好的吸附效果,吸附率达到91.3%。利用香蕉皮去除废水中的重金属离子,可以变废为宝,且方法吸附率高、准确可靠、精密度高,可用于吸附废水中重金属离子铅。  相似文献

Poorly crystalline and well-dispersed hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanoparticles were synthesized and used as novel adsorbents for the removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solution. Various factors affecting the adsorption such as adsorbent crystallinity, pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, temperature, competing cations, and the presence of humic acid were investigated in detail. Results showed that the HAP calcined at lower temperature was poorly crystalline and had better adsorption capacity for Cu(II) than those calcined at higher temperature. Cu(II) removal was increased with increases of pH, adsorbent dosage, temperature, and the presence of humic acid, but decreased as the existence of competing divalent cations. Kinetic studies showed that pseudo-second-order kinetic model better described the adsorption process. Equilibrium data were best described by Langmuir model, and the estimated maximum adsorption capacity of poorly crystalline HAP was 41.80 mg/g at 313 K, displaying higher efficiency for Cu(II) removal than many previously reported adsorbents. Thermodynamics studied revealed that the adsorption of Cu(II) by poorly crystalline HAP was spontaneous, endothermic, and entropy-increasing in nature. This study showed that poorly crystalline HAP could be used as an efficient adsorbent material for the removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solution.  相似文献

This study describes preparation of polymeric sorbent and its use in removal of some phenolic compounds from aqueous solution. The polymer [poly(ethylene glycol dimethacrylate ‐ co‐methacrylic acid)] is stable both thermally and chemically. High temperature (200°C) and strong acidic or alkaline solutions (4 M HCl or NaOH) are not effective on the adsorption characteristics of polymer. Removal process of phenols is pH‐dependent and from the obtained results pH = 7.0 was selected as an optimum pH. Different parameters affecting sorption process were tested, and it was found that the kinetic of sorption is fast; therefore, column experiment at higher flow rates or batch experiment can be used. Methanol was selected as a washing solvent in column experiments. Capacity of sorbent for the studied compounds was tested and the following order was obtained: p‐chlorophenol > p‐aminophenol > phenol.  相似文献

Along with the growing severity of environment problem and energy crisis, it is inevitable to develop novel materials, which are contributed to the removal of hazardous pollutants from contaminated water. Herein, we reported a fhcile method for the preparation of free-standing chitosan/graphene oxide(CS/GO) composite sponges with low density, where CS/GO mixtures were first synthesized by tlie homogeneous reaction of chitosan and graphene oxide in aqueous acetic acid solution;then CS/GO sponges were obtained by lyophilizing the suspension, which were prefrozen at -20 ℃ and in liquid nitrogen successively. The obtained layered sponge showed good water- driven shape memory effect and was a good adsorbent of Co^2+ and Ni^2+ witli a large adsorption capacity of 224.8 and 423.7 mg/g, respectively. Importantly, the successive adsorption-desorption studies employing CS/GO sponge indicated that the composite could be regenerated by HC1 solution and reused in more than five cycles with regeneration efficiency beyond 80%. Also, the resultant sponge was explored as an exceptionally adsorbent for the removal of organic dye(e.g., methylene blue, MB).  相似文献

The graft copolymerization of 4-vinylpyridine was carried out on mercerized cellulose and partially carboxymethylated cellulose (PCMC) using eerie ammonium nitrate (CAN) as the initiator. the grafting parameters (grafting efficiency (GE), graft yield (G), and total conversion (C1)) were studied as a function of CAN concentration. It was shown that by increasing the CAN concentration, G and C, reached a maximum. the graft yields for PCMC were significantly higher than those for mercerized cellulose. the largest GE values appeared for PCMC and mercerized cellulose at low and high CAN concentrations, respectively. the Ce(IV) consumption during grafting increased with rising concentration of CAN, and it was greater in the case of PCMC than of mercerized cellulose. After acid hydrolysis of the polysaccharide backbone, the average molecular weight of grafts was determined viscometrically. Molecular weight decreased with initiator concentration. Graft frequency (GF), on the other hand, increased with CAN concentration. GF for PCMC was higher than that for mercerized cellulose. Ce(IV) consumption increased with CAN concentration and it was lower for mercerized cellulose than that consumed during grafting on PCMC. After that, the effect of CAN concentration on the graft copolymerization onto PCMC was examined while the total nitrate ion concentration was maintained constant at 1.59 M by addition of sodium nitrate. Maximum G, C1 and Ce(IV) consumption were higher than in the previous case.  相似文献

In this study activated carbon was used for the removal of thiram from aqueous solutions. Adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of time, initial thiram concentration and temperature. Equilibrium data fitted well to the Freundlich and Langmuir equilibrium models in the studied concentration range. Adsorption kinetics followed a pseudo second‐order kinetic model rather than pseudo first‐order model. The results from kinetic experiments were used to describe the adsorption mechanism. Both boundary layer and intraparticle diffusion played important role in the adsorption mechanism of thiram. Thermodynamic parameters (ΔG0, ΔH0, and ΔS0) were determined and the adsorption process was found to be an endothermic one. The negative values of ΔG0 at different temperatures were indicative of the spontaneity of the adsorption process.  相似文献

Na-A zeolite was successfully synthesized via the alkaline fusion method with oil shale ash as the raw material. The adsorption capacity of it was tested by removing Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ from aqueous solutions. The results reveal the maximum adsorption capacity of adsorbent for Pb2+, Cu2+, Cd2+ and Ni2+ were 224.72, 156.74, 118.34 and 53.02 mg/g, respectively. The effects of contact time and pH value of solutions on the adsorption efficiency of the zeolite were evaluated. Besides, The equilibrium adsorption data and the batch kinetic data were correlated with Langmuir and Freundlich models and the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models separately. The results show that the Langmuir isotherm and the pseudo-second-order equation were more suitable for the adsorption of Na-A zeolite for the metal ions. In addition, Thermodynamic parameters of the adsorption(the Gibbs free energy, entropy, and enthalpy) were also evaluated and discussed. The results demonstrate that the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic under natural conditions and the synthesized zeolite was an effective adsorbent for the removal of metal ions from aqueous solution.  相似文献
