The ionic dissociation of salts was examined with a theoretical study of KX (X=F,Cl,Br,I) hydrated by up to six water molecules KX(H2O)n (n=1-6). Calculations were done using the density functional theory and second order M?ller-Plesset (MP2) perturbational theory. To provide more conclusive results, single point energy calculations using the coupled cluster theory with single, double, and perturbative triple excitations were performed on the MP2 optimized geometries. The dissociation feature of the salts was examined in terms of K-X bond lengths and K-X stretch frequencies. In general, the successive incorporation of water molecules to the cluster lengthens the K-X distance, and consequently the corresponding frequency decreases. Near 0 K, the KX salt ion pairs can be partly separated by more than five water molecules. The pentahydrated KX salt is partly dissociated, though these partly dissociated structures are almost isoenergetic to the undissociated ones for KFKCl. For the hexahydrated complexes, KF is undissociated, KClKBr is partly dissociated, and KI is dissociated (though this dissociated structure is nearly isoenergetic to a partly dissociated one). On the other hand, at room temperature, the penta- and hexahydrated undissociated structures which have less hydrogen bonds are likely to be more stable than the partly dissociated ones because of the entropy effect. Therefore, the dissociation at room temperature could take place for higher clusters than the hexahydrated ones.  相似文献

Upon excitation of Cl(-)(H(2)O)(3) and I(-)(H(2)O)(3) clusters, the electron transfers from the anionic precursor to the solvent, and then the excess electron is stabilized by polar solvent molecules. This process has been investigated using ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations of excited states of Cl(-)(H(2)O)(3) and I(-)(H(2)O)(3) clusters. The AIMD simulation results of Cl(-)(H(2)O)(3) and I(-)(H(2)O)(3) are compared, and they are found to be similar. Because the role of the halogen atom in the photoexcitation mechanism is controversial, we also carried out AIMD simulations for the ground-state bare excess electron -- water trimer [e(-)(H(2)O)(3)] at 300 K, the results of which are similar to those for the excited state of X(-)(H(2)O)(3) with zero kinetic energy at the initial excitation. This indicates that the rearrangement of the complex is closely related to that of e(-)(H(2)O)(3), whereas the role of the halide anion is not as important.  相似文献

In this paper, the results of a study of the interaction of methane, fluoroform, chloroform, and bromoform with benzene and hexafluorobenzene are presented. The benzene complexes were studied at the MP2/6-31G(d) and MP2/6-311++G(2d,p) levels, and the hexafluorobenzene complexes were only studied at the MP2/6-31G(d) level. The optimized geometries, stabilization energies, potential energy surfaces, harmonic frequencies, and vibrational intensities are reported. A net attraction is predicted for all four benzene complexes, whereas for the CHX3.C6F6 complexes, it was found that MP2/6-31G(d) predicts a net attraction for the CH4, CHCl3, and CHBr3 complexes and does not predict a stable complex for CHF3.C6F6. The three complexes with net attractions all have blue-shifts of the CHX3 CH stretching wavenumber and a slight contraction (0.001-0.003 A) of the CH bond in CHX3. The MP2/6-31G(d) level predicts that the intensity of the CHX3 CH stretch will vary widely. For CH4.C6H6 and CHF3.C6H6, it is predicted that the intensity will be smaller for the complexes than the free molecules, whereas for the other complexes, anywhere from a 30% increase to an increase of 87 times is predicted. The atoms in molecules analysis showed that only three of the eight criteria for normal hydrogen bonding are satisfied for all eight complexes studied. Criterion 3 (value of the Laplacian at the bond critical point) is not satisfied for any of the eight complexes.  相似文献

Singlet–triplet energy splitting for 24 silylenic reactive intermediates, X–CNSi (where X=H, F, Cl and Br), are compared and contrasted at 11 levels of theory: B1LYP/6-31++G**, B3LYP/6-31++G**, B1LYP/6-311++G**, B3LYP/6-311++G**, MP3/6-31G*, MP3/6-311++G**, MP2/6-31+G**, MP2/6-311++G**, MP4 (SDTQ)/6-311++G**, QCISD(T)/6-311++G** and CCSD(T)/6-311++G**. Each X-substituted silylenic species may either be singlet (s) or triplet (t), with one of the following three structures: 3-X-2-aza-1-silacyclopropenylidene (1s-X, 1t-X); [(X-imino)methylene]silylene (2s-X, 2t-X); and X-cyanosilylene (3s-X, 3t-X). For all X–CNSi species studied, orders of singlet–triplet energy separations (ΔEs-t,X), appear as a function of electro-negativity (F>Cl>Br>H). For the six H–CNSi isomers (X=H), stability order is: 3s-H>1s-H>2t-H>3t-H>2s-H>1t-H. Likewise, stability order for the six isomers with X=F, is: 3s-F>3t-F>1s-F>1t-F>2s-F>2t-F. For X=Cl, the order of stability is: 3s-Cl>1s-Cl>3t-Cl>2t-Cl>1t-Cl>2t-Cl. Finally, the order of stability for six isomers of Br–CNSi is: 3s-Br>3t-Br>1s-Br>2s-Br>2t-Br>1t-Br. The lowest energy minimum, among all 24 species scrutinized, appears to be the singlet acyclic 3s-X. Triplet silylene 2t-H is suggested to be more stable than its corresponding 2s-H at MP3, MP2 and DFT levels of theory. Comparisons between relative stabilities; multiplicities and geometrical parameters of 1–3 are discussed.  相似文献

The ground and lower-lying excited electronic states of FeX2 and NiX2 (X=F, Cl, Br, I) molecules are systematically investigated by ab initio method at the complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) and multiconfigurational quasi-degenerate second-order perturbation (MCQDPT2) levels of theory. It is concluded that the dynamic electron correlation has to be taken into account in the prediction of the properties for such kind of molecules. The equilibrium bond lengths re(M–X), force constants and harmonic vibrational frequencies are calculated for the ground and lower-lying excited electronic states. The spin-orbit coupling (SOC) effects are analysed.  相似文献

Using Gaussian 03 Revision C.02 version of the quantum chemical program ab initio and DFT computations have been carried out at the rhf/6-31+g*, b3lyp/6-31+g*, b3lyp/6-31++g** and b3lyp/6-311++g** levels to compute optimized geometries, harmonic vibrational frequencies along with intensities in IR and Raman spectra and atomic charges for the acetic (ethanoic) acid and its 1,1,1-tri-halo (fluoro, chloro and bromo) derivatives. The optimized molecular structures for all the four molecules are found to possess Cs point group symmetry. The symmetric stretching mode is found to have lowest magnitude of the three CX3 stretching modes for all the four molecules, whereas the symmetric deformation mode is found to have the lowest magnitude for EA and TFEA and the highest magnitude for TCEA and TBEA. The parallel rocking mode of the CX3 group is found to have lower magnitude than the perpendicular rocking mode for EA and TFEA where reverse is found for TCEA and TBEA. The modes of the COOH group are substituent sensitive except the OH stretching mode. Moreover, the maximum effect is found for the TFEA molecule. The CF3 group is found to have the characteristic frequencies as 235-505, 787, 1150-1190 and 1400 cm(-1) which are due to the modes delta s(CF3), nu s(CF3), nu as(CF3) and nu(C-CF3), respectively.  相似文献

用对称性匹配微扰理论(SAPT)对C2H2与X2(X=F,CI,Br,I)相互作用进行了量子化学研究.优化所得的4个稳定复合物相互作用能在-3.276 8~-10.639 5 kJ/mol之间.自然键轨道(NBO)理论分析表明,形成复合物分子间的电荷转移量都很少,在0.002 3~0.013 2之间.SAPT2能量分析显示,从F到I,静电能和诱导能先增大后减小,交换能和色散能逐渐增强,相互作用能依次增强.复合物稳定构型的相互作用能中静电能占主导作用,对吸引能的贡献比例在C2H2…F2中最大(57.3%),在C2H2…I2中最小(49.7%);其次为色散能,在吸引能中所占的比例在21.9%(C2H2…F2)~31.2%(C2H2…I2)之间;诱导能在吸引能中所占的比例最小,均小于20.7%.  相似文献

Structure and properties of hydrated clusters of halogen gas, X2.nH2O (X = Cl, Br, and I; n = 1-8) are presented following first principle based electronic structure theory, namely, BHHLYP density functional and second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation (MP2) methods. Several geometrical arrangements are considered as initial guess structures to look for the minimum energy equilibrium structures by applying the 6-311++G(d,p) set of the basis function. Results on X2-water clusters (X = Br and I) suggest that X2 exists as a charge separated ion pair, X+delta-X-delta in the hydrated clusters, X2.nH2O (n > or = 2). Though the optimized structures of Cl2.nH2O clusters look like X2.nH2O (X = Br and I) clusters, Cl2 does not exist as a charge separated ion pair in the presence of solvent water molecules. The calculated interaction energy between X2 and solvent water cluster increases from Cl2.nH2O to I2.nH2O clusters, suggesting solubility of gas-phase I2 in water to be a maximum among these three systems. Static and dynamic polarizabilities of hydrated X2 clusters, X2.nH2O, are calculated and observed to vary linearly with the size (n) of these water clusters with correlation coefficient >0.999. This suggests that the polarizability of the larger size hydrated clusters can be reliably predicted. Static and dynamic polarizabilities of these hydrated clusters grow exponentially with the frequency of an external applied field for a particular size (n) of hydrated cluster.  相似文献

The crystal structures of five isotypic hexagonal compounds with general formulaMAs4O6 X [M=K, NH4;X=Cl, Br, I; space group: P622;Z=1] were determined from 370 single crystal X-ray data and refined toR values <0.05. The structure type is characterized by neutral charged [As2O3] sheets arranged parallel (00.1). The As atoms of neighbouring two sheets point to each other and the sheets are combined by interlayeredM andX atoms, respectively. TheM atoms are coordinated to twelve oxygen atoms, theX atoms are coordinated to twelve arsenic atoms. In both cases the coordination polyhedron is a hexagonal prism. The compounds were synthesized by thermal treatments of cubic As2O3 and potassium or ammonium haloids in a saturated aqueous solution of potassium acetate resp. ammonia [500 K, saturation vapour pressure].

Zusammenfassung Die Kristallstrukturen der fünf isotypen hexagonalen Verbindungen mit der allgemeinen FormelMAs4O6 X [M=K, NH4;X=Cl, Br, I; Raumgruppe: P622;Z=1] wurden anhand von 370 Einkristall-Röntgendaten bestimmt und aufR-Werte <0.05 verfeinert. Der Strukturtyp ist ausgezeichnet durch neutrale [As2O3]-Schichten, die parallel (00.1) angeordnet sind. Die As-Atome zweier benachbarter Schichten weisen jeweils aufeinander zu, und die Schichten selbst werden durch zwischengelagerteM- bzw.X-Atome verbunden. DieM-Atome werden jeweils von zwölf O-Atomen, dieX-Atome von zwölf As-Atomen umgeben. Das Koordinationspolyeder ist in beiden Fällen ein hexagonales Primsa. Die einzelnen Verbindungen wurden unter Hydrothermalbedingungen aus kubischem As2O3 und dem jeweiligen Kalium- oder Ammoniumhalogenid in einer gesättigten wäßrigen Lösung von Kaliumacetat bzw. Ammoniak synthetisiert (500 K, Sättigungsdampfdruck).

We report electric multipole moments and (hyper)polarizabilities for the haloethynes HCCX, X = F, Cl, Br, and I. The molecular properties have been obtained from finite-field self-consistent field, M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory and coupled cluster calculations with large, carefully optimized basis sets of gaussian-type functions. The mean dipole (hyper)polarizability and the mean quadrupole polarizability near the Hartree-Fock limit are alpha/e(2)a(0) (2)E(h) (-1) = 23.74 (HCCF), 37.26 (HCCCl), 43.97 (HCCBr), 56.44 (HCCI), beta/e(3)a(0) (3)E(h) (-2) = -73.9 (HCCF), -67.0 (HCCCl), -39.5 (HCCBr), 42.7 (HCCI), gamma/e(4)a(0) (4)E(h) (-3) = 4,914 (HCCF), 6,554 (HCCCl), 9,328 (HCCBr), 14,949 (HCCI), and C/e(2)a(0) (4)E(h) (-1) = 160.3 (HCCF), 317.1 (HCCCl), 471.2 (HCCBr), 671.2 (HCCI). Electron correlation has a small effect on the dipole polarizability but affects strongly the hyperpolarizability. Agreement with the available experimental data is more or less fair for HCCF, HCCCl, and HCCBr but less satisfactory for HCCI.  相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations of HgX(n) (X=F, Cl, Br, and I; n=1, 2, and 4) in the gas phase are performed using the density functional theory (DFT), two-component spin-orbit (SO) DFT, and high-level ab initio method with relativistic effective core potentials (RECPs). Molecular geometries, vibrational frequencies, and various thermochemical energies are calculated and compared with available experimental results. We assess the performances of DFT functionals for calculating various molecular properties. The PBE0 functional is generally reasonable for the molecular geometries and the vibrational frequencies, but the M06 functional is more appropriate for estimating thermochemical energies. Both shape-consistent and energy-consistent RECPs correctly describe the SO effect.  相似文献

Using a composite coupled cluster method employing sequences of correlation consistent basis sets for complete basis set (CBS) extrapolations and with explicit treatment of core-valence correlation and scalar and spin-orbit relativistic effects, the 0 K enthalpies of a wide range of cadmium-halide reactions, namely, Cd + (HCl, HBr, ClO, BrO, Cl2, BrCl, Br2) have been determined to an estimated accuracy of +/-1 kcal/mol. In addition, accurate equilibrium geometries, harmonic frequencies, and dissociation energies have been calculated at the same level of theory for all the diatomic (e.g., CdH, CdO, CdCl, CdBr) and triatomic (CdHCl, CdHBr, CdClO, CdBrO, CdCl2, CdBrCl, CdBr2) species involved in these reactions, some for the very first time. Like their mercury analogues, all of the abstraction reactions are predicted to be endothermic, while the insertion reactions are strongly exothermic with the formation of stable linear, Cd-centric complexes. With the exception of CdH and the reactions involving this species, the present results for the remaining Cd-containing systems are believed to be the most accurate to date.  相似文献

The vertical electron detachment energies (VDEs) of 30 MX 4 (-) (M = B, Al; X = F, Cl, Br) anions were calculated at the OVGF level with the 6-311+G(3df) basis sets. The largest vertical electron binding energy was found for the AlF 4 (-) system (9.789 eV). The strong VDE dependence on the symmetry of the species, ligand type, ligand-central atom distance, and bonding/nonbonding/antibonding character of the highest occupied molecular orbital was observed and discussed.  相似文献

在MP2/6-311++G**水平上优化乙烯酮自由基与LiX(X=F,Cl,Br)形成锂键复合物.当卤素的电负性很强(如F元素),使得Li原子处于缺电子状态,此时,电子给体会把电子偏移向锂,形成共价性较强的锂键.而当卤素的电负性减弱时,锂键中主要成分逐渐变为离子键,并且此时锂键性质还要受电子给体影响.另外,由于HCCO为缺电子结构,电负性较弱且体积较大的卤素中的孤对电子会与HCCO之间通过静电相互作用,使得HCCO…Li—X键夹角变小,接近120°.锂键性质对HCCO…LiX(X=F,Cl,Br)复合物中Li—X的伸缩振动频率有直接影响.当锂键表现为共价性时,该频率红移,而当锂键表现为离子性时,该频率蓝移.但是,由于Cl的电负性与O的接近,C的电负性与Br接近所以,在O…Li…Cl和C…Li…Br中容易形成共振结构,导致远大于在其他复合物中的红移.  相似文献

The structure of B8F12 has been shown by gas electron diffraction and computational methods (up to MP2/6-31+G*) to have the same highly asymmetric form observed in crystalline phases. The structure can be regarded as derived from a central B2 group, bridged by two BF2 groups to give a central B4 core that is folded, not planar, and with a very short bond [164.3 pm calculated, 164.2(19) pm experimental] along the fold line. There are also four terminal BF2 groups. One of the other four bonds in the core is consistently 20-30 pm longer than the others. This asymmetry has been attributed to many intra-molecular B...F interactions, particularly those between core boron atoms and fluorines of the terminal BF2 groups. Calculations for the chloro analogue lead to a structure similar to that for B8F12, but with the long core bond extended so that one of the bridging BCl2 groups may now be regarded as terminal. With bromine as the halogen the structure changes again, with one bromine atom taking up a bridging position. With iodine, this process continues further, and there are three bridging iodine atoms. However, in this case this is not the lowest energy structure, and instead a loosely associated dimer of B4I6 is preferred. In all these cases, and particularly with the heavier halogens, there are huge differences between the results obtained with different computational methods.  相似文献

Force fields and vibrational wavenumbers were calculated for the molecules SO2X2 (X=F, Cl, Br) using DFT techniques. The previously available experimental data and assignments for SO2F2 and SO2Cl2 were compared with the theoretical results and revised, and new low temperature infrared and Raman data were obtained for SO2Cl2. These data were subsequently used in the definition of scaled quantum mechanics force fields for such molecules. Adjusted wavenumbers were also predicted for the still unknown SO2Br2. A comparison is made with results published for the VO2X2- anions.  相似文献

The hydrated nucleoside anions, uridine(-)(H(2)O)(n=0-2), cytidine(-)(H(2)O)(n=0-2), and thymidine(-)(H(2)O)(n=0,1), have been prepared in beams and studied by anion photoelectron spectroscopy in order to investigate the effects of a microhydrated environment on parent nucleoside anions. Vertical detachment energies (VDEs) were measured for all eight anions, and from these, estimates were made for five sequential anion hydration energies. Excellent agreement was found between our measured VDE value for thymidine(-)(H(2)O)(1) and its calculated value in the companion article by S. Kim and H. F. Schaefer III.  相似文献

Infrared and laser Raman spectra of [Ni(II)(diars)2X]X, (X=Cl, Br and I) have been used as probes to determine the structures of chelated diarsine molecules. It has been observed that the effects of metal chelation and coordination geometry give rise to frequency shifts in these complexes. The variation in vibrational spectroscopic features indicates reduction in the symmetry of the complexes in the crystalline environment. The effect of halogen on the Ni-halogen stretching frequency of these square pyramidal complexes is not as significant as observed in the case of octahedral complexes.  相似文献
