The nuclear system at the limit of excitation energy and angular momentum is here studied in the case of the superdeformed nucleus 143Eu using -spectroscopy techniques. The data are based on a EUROBALL experiment using the reaction 37Cl + 110Pd Eu + 4n. The influence of thermal energy on superdeformed configurations is investigated through the analysis of the quasi-continuum spectra formed by E2 transitions among states of excited rotational bands with energy extending up to 4-5 MeV above the yrast line. In particular, the effective lifetimes of the discrete rotational bands forming ridge structures in - coincidence matrices is measured by a Doppler Shift Attenuation Method. The deduced quadrupole deformation of 10 eb indicates that the nucleus maintains its collectivity with increasing excitation energy, supporting the superdeformed character of the excited nuclear rotation. The obtained number of superdeformed discrete bands forming the ridge structures is found in good agreement with microscopic cranked shell model calculations including the decay-out process into the lower deformation minimum. In addition, the nuclear properties at higher excitation energies are investigated through the E1 -decay of the giant dipole resonance (GDR). It is found that the intensity of the superdeformed yrast and excited bands increases by a factor of approximately 1.6 when a coincidence with a high-energy -ray is required, showing the importance of the E1 cooling in the feeding mechanism of the superdeformed states.Received: 2 December 2002, Published online: 2 March 2004PACS: 21.10.Tg Lifetimes - 21.10.Re Collective levels - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 27.60. + j   相似文献

High-spin states in 79Rb were populated in the reaction at E(beam) = 60 MeV. The lifetimes of the excited states of the positive-parity yrast band and of the negative-parity band in 79Rb were measured by the Doppler Shift Attenuation Method. The deduced transition quadrupole moments Qt are found to have a decreasing trend with rotational frequency for both the bands, consistent with those found experimentally in neighbouring nuclei. A short summary of the present status of prompt particle decays in the mass region is presented. It includes recent results from a GAMMASPHERE experiment, which aimed at the combined high-resolution spectroscopy of light charged particles and -rays to allow for more detailed studies of known decays and the identification of new cases of discrete prompt proton and -particle emission from highly and superdeformed states.Received: 10 October 2002, Published online: 17 February 2004PACS: 23.50. + z Decay by proton emission - 23.60. + e decay - 27.40. + z - 27.50. + e   相似文献

The three moments of inertia associated with the wobbling mode built on the triaxial superdeformed states in the Lu-Hf region are investigated by means of the cranked shell model plus random-phase approximation to the configurations with aligned quasiparticle(s). The result indicates that it is crucial to take into account the direct contribution to the moments of inertia from the aligned quasiparticle(s) so as to realize in positive- shapes.Received: 17 October 2002, Published online: 2 March 2004PACS: 21.10.Re Collective levels - 21.60.Jz Hartree-Fock and random-phase approximations  相似文献

Exact and approximate quantum numbers of the cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky (CNS) formalism are exploited to calculate excited bands in fixed configurations with the energy of the individual bands minimized with respect to deformation for all spin values. The formalism is applied to 59Cu, where all bands which appear important in the decay out of the superdeformed band are calculated.Received: 14 November 2002, Published online: 17 February 2004PACS: 21.10.Ma Level density - 21.60.Cs Shell model - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 27.50. + e C. Tau lepton decays with open strangeness in the final state are measured with the OPAL detector at LEP to determine the strange hadronic spectral function of the lepton. The decays , and with final states consisting of neutral and charged kaons and pions have been studied. The invariant mass distributions of of these final states have been experimentally determined. Monte Carlo simulations have been used for the remaining and for the strange final states including mesons. The reconstructed strange final states, corrected for resolution effects and detection efficiencies, yield the strange spectral function of the lepton. The moments of the spectral function and the ratio of strange to non-strange moments, which are important input parameters for theoretical analyses, are determined. Furthermore, the branching fractions and have been measured.Received: 18 February 2004, Revised: 30 April 2004, Published online: 15 June 2004  相似文献

Isomeric states in 210-215Ra have been populated by the decay of the compound nuclei 216,220Ra produced in irradiations of 204,208Pb with 12C at MeV. Published values for -ray energies and half-lives were confirmed for Ra. Our data for Ra agree with the -energies and the half-life measured at the RITU separator, University of Jyväskylä (Finland). Its decay pattern is complex. Two series of -rays of keV and keV were observed. A half-life of s was measured. The isomeric state is attributed to an 8 + state at E * = 2053.8keV. A previously unknown isomeric state was assigned to Ra. It has a half-life of ( ) and it decays by emission of -rays with energies of 396.1keV and 802.0keV. It is attributed to a 13/2 + state at E * = 1198.1 keV.PACS: 23.60. + e decay - 27.90. + b   相似文献

The large multidetector gamma-ray arrays (such as GAMMASPHERE, EUROBALL, and GASP) have played a central role in nuclear-structure studies during the past decade. In this paper I will discuss recent results from experiments on nuclei with very large deformations, including: the measurement of the spins, parities, and excitation energies of superdeformed bands in 152Dy; the observation of extreme deformations in 108Cd and the evidence for hyper-intruder states; the study of superdeformed nuclei around , which provide an opportunity to test our microscopic understanding of collective excitations; and lifetimes of strongly deformed triaxial bands in 163Lu. I will conclude with a brief discussion on the next generation gamma-ray detector array, GRETA.Received: 9 December 2002, Published online: 17 February 2004PACS: 21.10.Re Collective levels - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 21.10.Tg Lifetimes - 29.30.Kv X- and -ray spectroscopy  相似文献

Twist-3 distribution amplitudes of the pion and kaon are studied in this paper. We calculate the first several moments for the twist-3 distribution amplitudes ( and ) of the pion and kaon by applying the QCD sum rules. Our results show that (i) the first three moments of and the first two moments of and of the pion and kaon can be obtained with 30 uncertainty; (ii) the fourth moment of the and the second moment of the can be obtained when the uncertainty are relaxed to 35 ; (iii) the fourth moment of the can be obtained only when the uncertainty are relaxed to 40 ; (iv) we have and after including the -corrections to the perturbative part. These moments will be helpful for constructing the twist-3 wave functions of the pion and kaon.Received: 6 January 2005, Revised: 29 March 2005, Published online: 22 June 2005PACS: 13.20.He, 11.55.Hx  相似文献

High-spin states in 163,164Ho were investigated by means of in-beam -ray spectroscopy techniques using the multidetector array GASP. Excited states in 163,164Ho were populated predominantly through the incomplete-fusion mechanism in the 160Gd (11B reaction at a beam energy of 61 MeV. Known rotational bands in 163 Ho have been extended to higher spins and a three-quasiparticle band has been observed in this nucleus. Rotational bands have been identified in 164Ho and their configurations have been discussed. Empirical Gallagher-Moszkowski (GM) splitting energies were extracted from the and GM doublets. Alignments, band crossing frequencies, and electromagnetic properties have been analyzed in the framework of the cranking model.Received: 13 February 2004, Revised: 18 March 2004, Published online: 14 September 2004PACS: 21.10.Re Collective levels - 21.60.Ev Collective models - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 27.70. + q   相似文献

The low-lying rotational bands of A = 36-48 nuclei are consistently explained by starting from the recently discovered, superdeformed intrinsic state of 36Ar as the core, filling successively the first three Nilsson orbits above the Fermi border. The critical single-particle energies were obtained from experimental data as were the residual interactions in the parametrization of Brink and Kerman. Implicit are the rearrangement energies due to configuration-dependent equilibrium deformations. The binding energies of 20 experimental bandheads were used to derive the parameters while another 38 bandheads were subsequently predicted and identified almost completely. The Racavy expression reduced by 20% reproduces or predicts the values of the deformation parameter . The empirical Nilsson model amended by -vibrational and rotation-aligned bands accounts completely for the multi-particle excitations from the N = 2 into the N = 3 major shell which are not accessible by shell-model calculations. In the case of 40Ca a spectrum of 42 states below E x = 8 MeV is explained.PACS: 21.60.Ev Collective models - 21.10.Dr Binding energies and masses - 27.30. + t - 27.40. + z   相似文献

We propose a limiting procedure for obtaining physical states for an infinite non-relativistic Fermi system. We take the thermodynamic limit of vector states in the Fock representation of the C.A.R. algebra, representing a condensate state of atoms each of which is formed by 4 fermions. In a simplified example considered in detail, the limit state has a simple decomposition into the product of two B.C.S. states. IfB + is the operator creating the atom from the vacuum |0F , it is proved that the states obtained by taking the thermodynamic limit of the vector states corresponding to (B +) n |0F and respectively, coincide on the gauge-invariant elements of the algebra for a suitable value ofz.Partially supported by C.N.R.  相似文献

Using the equation for a projection of a state vector, the exponent of a damping factor for a given state, corresponding to the effective decay width appearing in the case of multiple measured unstable states, is obtained numerically in some models for early time period t 0. is found to be nonzero (even for stable states) at this time period; thus, for early times, this damping factor is always smaller than unity. It is shown that at finitet's may be smaller or greater than the standard decay width in Weisskopf-Wigner theory depending on the parameters of a model considered.  相似文献

The influence of the existence of absorbing atoms in a laser cavity on the critical exponents of abrupt transitions between steady states in the system of single mode onephoton laser driven by an external coherent field is discussed. An isolated threshold when ,and a kind of threshold when, where is the pump parameter of the absorbing atoms, is obtained. The asymptotic forms of the families of potential functions for the system near these threshold are also found. The well-known scaling hypothesis in the general homogeneous function form is shown to be a characteristic of these asymptotic families. Four threshold exponents, , , and and four threshold amplitudes,B, D, andA, near each of these thresholds, are obtained. The threshold exponents near each threshold obey the scaling laws of critical phenomena, while the corresponding amplitudes obey the definite relations between exponents and amplitudes.  相似文献

High-spin states in the odd-proton nucleus 173Lu have been populated in a 170Er(7Li,4n) reaction and the emitted -radiation was detected with the GASP array. The favoured and unfavoured sequences of the band have been considerably extended. The favoured sequence does not show any indication of a band crossing up to a rotational frequency of 0.45 MeV. This is the largest crossing frequency ever observed for 1/2- [541] bands of odd-proton nuclei with and . Previous Cranked Shell Model (CSM) calculations underestimate the crossing frequency by 100 keV.Received: 19 May 2003, Published online: 11 November 2003PACS: 21.10.-k Properties of nuclei; nuclear energy levels - 21.10.Re Collective levels - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 27.70. + q   相似文献

We explore CP violation in decay processes in the presence of the anomalous right-handed and couplings. The complex anomalous top coupling can be a source of new CP violation and may lead to a deviation of the observed weak phase in decays, which accounts for the present disagreement of the observed between and decays. Direct CP violation is also predicted. Received: 27 November 2002, Revised: 28 March 2003, Published online: 2 June 2003  相似文献

It has recently been pointed out that a new class of subleading shape functions involving B-meson matrix elements of non-local four-quark operators contributes at order to decay distributions in the endpoint region. The corresponding functions and are estimated using the vacuum-insertion approximation. A numerical analysis of various decay spectra suggests that these power corrections are very small, below present theoretical uncertainties due to other subleading shape-function contributions.
