We present a quantum-correlation-based free-space optical(FSO) link over 250 m using an outdoor active reflector 125 m from the transceiver station. The performance of free-space optical communication can be significantly degraded by atmospheric turbulence effects, such as beam wander and signal fluctuations. We used a 660 nm tracking laser to reduce atmospheric effects, by analyzing the fast beam wander and slow temporal beam drift, using this information to correct the quantum channel alignment of the 810 nm signal photons. In this work, the active reflector consisted of a mirror, a 6-axis hexapod stage, and a long-range wireless bridge. The slow drift of the beam path due to outdoor temperature changes was steered and controlled using wireless optical feedback between the receiver units and the active reflector. Our work provides useful knowledge for improved control of beam paths in outdoor conditions, which can be developed to ensure high quality quantum information transfer in real-world scenarios, such as an unmanned FSO link for urban quantum communication or retro-reflective quantum communication links.  相似文献

We demonstrate coherent optical frequency dissemination over a distance of 972 km by cascading two spans where the phase noise is passively compensated for. To significantly improve the frequency references used in radio-astronomy and the precision measurements in atomic physics, we provide frequency dissemination through a 642-km coherent optical fiber link. On the frequency transfer, we obtained a frequency instability of \(3\times 10^{-19}\) at 1,000 s in terms of Allan deviation on a 5-mHz measurement bandwidth, and an accuracy of \(5\times 10^{-19}\) . The ultimate link performance has been evaluated by doubling the link to 1,284 km, demonstrating a new characterization technique based on the double round trip on a single fiber. This method is an alternative to previously demonstrated techniques for link characterization. In particular, the use of a single fiber may be beneficial to long hauls realizations in view of a continental fiber network for frequency and time metrology, as it avoids the doubling of the amplifiers, with a subsequent reduction in costs and maintenance. A detailed analysis of the results is presented, regarding the phase noise, the cycle-slips detection and removal and the instability evaluation. The observed noise power spectrum is seldom found in the literature; hence, the expression of the Allan deviation is theoretically derived and the results confirm the expectations.  相似文献

We demonstrate a 300-km +200-km cascaded coherent phase transfer via fiber link. The transfer is divided into a 300-km span and a 200-km span with independent phase locking loops, aiming to extend the phase control bandwidth of the whole link. The phase noise and transfer instability of the cascaded transmission are investigated and compared with those in the case of a single-span 500-km transfer. We achieve the transfer instabilities of 1.8 × 10~(-14) at 1 s, 8.9× 10~(-20) at 10~4 s for the 300-km +200-km cascaded transmission, and 2.7×10~(-14) at 1 s for the 500-km single-span transfer.  相似文献

The welcome and adaptation of optical wireless technology by the modern era has brought forward the concept of an inter-satellite free-space optical communication system. In the present work, I study the combined effect of selection of different operating wavelengths and detector types along with the pointing errors at the transmitter and receiver side on the performance of an inter-satellite free-space optical link. The link performance has been optimized by measuring and analyzing the bit error rate and quality-factor of received signal under different scenarios. Performance of the inter-satellite link has also been investigated considering different modulation formats and data rates for LEO and MEO distances.  相似文献

A dynamic optical interconnection system is experimented by a holographic crossbar. The pixelated multi-phase grating array displayed on spatial light modulator generated a beam array onto an arbitrary position with high efficiency in the output plane. 随着光钟研究的发展, 光钟的稳定度和不确定度均达到10-18量级. 通过光纤可以实现光钟频率信号的高精度传输, 有望用于未来“秒”定义的复现. 演示了百公里级实验室光纤上的光学频率传递. 对于在实验室70 km光纤盘上实现的光频传递, 光纤相位噪声抑制在1-250 Hz傅里叶频率范围内均接近于光纤延时极限, 对应传输稳定度(Allan偏差)为秒级稳定度1.2×10-15, 10000 s稳定度为1.4×10-18. 实验室100 km光纤的光频传递秒级稳定度也达到了5×10-15. 提出了光纤噪声用户端补偿的方案, 可以简化星形传递网络中心站的复杂度. 在25 km光纤上演示了该传递方案, 实现的传输稳定度接近传统前置补偿传递方案.  相似文献

2006年上半年进行了距离为3 200 m的光束传输实验,对到达角起伏进行了24 h昼夜观测。实验中,每分钟进行一次连续测量,每次以1 kHz的信号采样频率连续采集10 s,得到10 000个到达角起伏实验数据,并反映了0.2~500 Hz频段的信息。根据高采样频率下的到达角起伏昼夜观测数据,分析了到达角起伏效应,并通过到达角起伏时间平滑因子,对曝光时间的平滑作用进行了研究。昼夜观测实验结果表明:在天气阴霾、能见度低的情况下,到达角起伏会显著减小;在强湍流区,到达角起伏出现饱和效应,在弱湍流区,到达角起伏的强度随着湍流强度的增加而增强;到达角起伏幅度随着曝光时间的增加而减小,由归一化协方差拟合关系得到的时间平滑因子计算结果与实验直接分析得到的结果一致。  相似文献

A narrow-linewidth comb-linked nonlinear source is used as master radiation to injection lock a room-temperature mid-infrared quantum cascade laser (QCL). This process leads to a direct lock of the QCL to the optical frequency comb, providing the unique features of narrow linewidth, absolute frequency, higher output power, and wide mode-hop-free tunability. The QCL reproduces the injected radiation within more than 94%, with a reduction of the frequency-noise spectral density by 3 to 4 orders of magnitude up to about 100 kHz, and a linewidth narrowing from a few MHz to 20 kHz.  相似文献

We introduce a novel concept for optical frequency measurement and division which employs a Kerr-lens, mode-locked laser as a transfer oscillator whose noise properties do not enter the measurement process. We experimentally demonstrate that this method opens up the route to phase-link signals with arbitrary frequencies in the optical or microwave range while their frequency stability is preserved. 针对沙漠环境实地链路存在的温度变化大、室外风力、地表振动等多种复杂噪声来源,通过对系统反馈补偿带宽、反馈补偿强度、光功率等时频传递系统关键参数的优化配置,研究了不同反馈补偿参数下复杂链路噪声的有效抑制技术.全链路的频率传递稳定度8×10~(-14)@1s,1×10~(-16)@1000 s,千秒尺度下时间信号传递的时间方差仅为1.2 ps.实现了氢钟信号在200 km量级沙漠环境实地链路的无损传输.该验证实验在基于短基线干涉测量的卫星测轨系统中发挥了重要作用.  相似文献

We have explored the performance of two “dark fibers” of a commercial telecommunication fiber link for a remote comparison of optical clocks. The two fibers, linking the Leibniz University of Hanover (LUH) with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, are connected in Hanover to form a total fiber length of 146 km. At PTB the performance of an optical frequency standard operating at 456 THz was imprinted to a cw transfer laser at 194 THz, and its frequency was transmitted over the fiber. In order to detect and compensate phase noise related to the optical fiber link we have built a low-noise optical fiber interferometer and investigated noise sources that affect the overall performance of the optical link. The frequency stability at the remote end has been measured using the clock laser of PTB’s Yb+ frequency standard operating at 344 THz. We show that the frequency of a frequency-stabilized fiber laser can be transmitted over a total fiber length of 146 km with a relative frequency uncertainty below 1×10−19, and short term frequency instability given by the fractional Allan deviation of σ y (τ)=3.3×10−15/(τ/s).  相似文献

The solution of the phase problem in optics, as applied to the determination of the amplitude and phase characteristics of optical signals varying in time and of the transfer functions of media transmitting the signals, is considered. The solution of this problem is based on using the spectrum-modulation method. In particular, the possibility of studying ultrashort processes is considered. The analysis was performed by probing the medium with an optical signal of an arbitrary structure. To obtain the information required, we used a four-channel optical arrangement with a spectral instrument, which records the intensity distributions directly for the signal under study after it passed through the medium; for the signal that was preliminary modulated in the specific manner and then passed through the medium; for the signal that was additionally modulated after passing through the medium; and for the signal that was additionally modulated both before and after passing through the medium. Each of these modulations should provide, to some extent, visualization of the phase information. Two variants of analysis were considered. In the first variant, the influence of the medium to be analyzed on the radiation considered is represented as modulation of the latter in time. The second variant is associated with studying the medium, whose influence on the signal brings about time-redistribution of the radiation and is described by a convolution operation.  相似文献

We demonstrate the transmission of a microwave frequency signal at 10 GHz over a 112-km urban fiber link based on a novel simple-architecture electronic phase compensation system. The key element of the system is the low noise frequency divider by 4 to differentiate the frequency of the forward signal from that of the backward one, thus suppressing the effect of Brillouin backscattering and parasitic reflection along the link. In terms of overlapping Allan deviation,the frequency transfer instability of 4.2 × 10~(-15) at 1-s integration time and 1.6 × 10~(-18) at one-day integration time was achieved. In addition, its sensitivity to the polarization mode dispersion in fiber is analyzed by comparing the results with and without laser polarization scrambling. Generally, with simplicity and robustness, the system can offer great potentials in constructing cascaded frequency transfer system and facilitate the building of fiber-based microwave transfer network.  相似文献
