The production rates and substructure of jets have been studied in charged current deep inelastic e

p scattering for Q
2 > 200 GeV2 with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 110.5 pb-1. Inclusive jet cross sections are presented for jets with transverse energies

Tau lepton decays with open strangeness in the final state are measured with the OPAL detector at LEP to determine the strange hadronic spectral function of the
lepton. The decays
,
and
with final states consisting of neutral and charged kaons and pions have been studied. The invariant mass distributions of
of these final states have been experimentally determined. Monte Carlo simulations have been used for the remaining
and for the strange final states including
mesons. The reconstructed strange final states, corrected for resolution effects and detection efficiencies, yield the strange spectral function of the
lepton. The moments of the spectral function and the ratio of strange to non-strange moments, which are important input parameters for theoretical analyses, are determined. Furthermore, the branching fractions

Making the assumption of explicit isospin violation arising from f
0(980)-a
0(980) mixing, we take the point of view that the scalar mesons f
0(980) and a
0(980) have both strange and non-strange quark-antiquark components and evaluate the strong coupling constants
within the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules approach. The large strong scalar-KK couplings through both the

will support the hadronic dressing mechanism; furthermore, in spite of the constituent structure differences between the f
0(980) and a
0(980) mesons, the strange components have larger strong coupling constants with the K

The anomalous weak dipole moments of the

In the SUSY SO(10) GUT context, we study the exclusive processes
. Using the Wilson coefficients of the relevant operators including the new operators
which are induced by neutral Higgs boson (NHB) penguins, we evaluate some possible observables associated with these processes like the invariant mass spectrum (IMS), lepton pair forward-backward asymmetry (FBA), lepton polarization asymmetries etc. In this model the contributions from Wilson coefficients
, among new contributions, are dominant. Our results show that the NHB effects are sensitive to the FBA,

decay, which are expected to be measured in B factories, the deviation of
in
can reach 0.1 from SM, which could be seen in B factories, and the average of the normal polarization
can reach several percent for

, which could be measured in the future super B factories and provide useful information to probe new physics and discriminate different models.Received: 30 October 2004, Published online: 9 March 2005 相似文献

We study superluminal cyclotron emission by electrons and muons in semiclassical orbits. The tachyonic line spectra of hydrogenic
ions such as
,
, and
, as well as their muonic counterparts
,
and
are calculated, in particular the tachyonic power transversally and longitudinally radiated, the total intensity, and the
power radiated in the individual harmonics. We also investigate tachyonic continuum radiation from electrons and protons cycling
in the surface and light cylinder fields of
-ray and millisecond pulsars, such as the Crab pulsar, PSR B1509-58, and PSR J0218 + 4232. The superluminal spectral densities
generated by non-relativistic, mildly relativistic and ultra-relativistic source particles are derived. We study the parameters
determining the global shape of the transversal and longitudinal densities and the energy scales of the broadband spectrum.
The observed cutoff frequency in the
-ray band of the pulsars is used to infer the upper edge of the orbital energy, and we conclude that electrons and nuclei
cycling in the surface fields can reach energies beyond the "ankle" of the cosmic ray spectrum. This suggests
-ray pulsars as sources of ultra-high energy cosmic rays.

Inclusive jet cross sections are measured in photoproduction at HERA using the H1 detector. The data sample of
events in the kinematic range of photon virtualities
and photon-proton centre-of-mass energies
represents an integrated luminosity of
. Jets are defined using the inclusive
algorithm. Single- and multi-differential cross sections are measured as functions of jet transverse energy ET jet and pseudorapidity
in the domain

. The cross sections are found to be in good agreement with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations corrected for fragmentation and underlying event effects. The cross section differential in ET jet, which varies by six orders of magnitude over the measured range, is compared with similar distributions from
colliders at equal and higher energies.Received: 24 February 2003, Revised: 26 May 2003, Published online: 11 July 2003 相似文献

We explore CP violation in
decay processes in the presence of the anomalous right-handed
and
couplings. The complex anomalous top coupling can be a source of new CP violation and may lead to a deviation of the observed weak phase in
decays, which accounts for the present disagreement of the observed
between
and
decays. Direct CP violation is also predicted.

A study of Z-boson pair production in e + e- annihilation at center-of-mass energies between 190 GeV and 209 GeV is reported. Final states containing only leptons, (
and
), quark and lepton pairs, (
,
) and only hadrons (
) are considered. In all states with at least one Z boson decaying hadronically, lifetime, lepton and event-shape tags are used to separate
pairs from
final states. Limits on anomalous ZZ
and ZZZ couplings are derived from the measured cross sections and from event kinematics using an optimal observable method. Limits on low scale gravity with large extra dimensions are derived from the cross sections and their dependence on polar angle.Received: 14 July 2003, Published online: 18 December 2003 相似文献

The very recently observed D*sJ(2463) meson is described as a
bound state in a unitarised meson model, owing its existence to the strong OZI-allowed
coupling to the nearby S-wave
threshold. By the same non-perturbative mechanism, the narrow axial-vector Ds1(2536) resonance shows up as a quasi-bound-state partner embedded in the
continuum. With the same model and parameters, it is also shown that the preliminary broad 1 + D1(2400) resonance and the established narrow 1 + D1(2420) may be similar
partners, as a result of the strong OZI-allowed
coupling to the nearby S-wave
threshold. The continuum bound states D1(2420) and Ds1(2536) are found to be mixtures of 33%
and 67%
, whereas their partners D1(2400) and D*sJ(2463) have more or less the opposite
-state content, but additionally with some
or
admixture, respectively. The employed mechanism also reproduces the ratio of the KL-KS mass difference and the KS width, by describing KL as a bound state embedded in the
continuum. The models results for
states containing one b quark are also discussed.Received: 7 June 2003, Revised: 20 October 2003, Published online: 18 December 2003PACS:

The Standard Model constraints on
which can be derived from the
decays are revisited in some depth. As experimental inputs, the
,
decays complemented by the
decays, the CP parameters
and
, and/or the value of
as determined by the global CKM fit are used. The constraints discussed here are model independent in the sense that they rely only on Isospin symmetry, following the Gronau-London proposal. A new bound on

is negative. The Grossman-Quinn bound is rediscussed. A close form expression is given for
as a function of the measurements. Various scenarios for the future of the isospin analysis are explored. To probe the Standard Model the

We discuss the time-dependent CP asymmetry of the decay
in an extension of the standard model with both a two Higgs doublet and additional fourth-generation quarks. We show that, although the standard model with a two Higgs doublet and the standard model with fourth-generation quarks alone are not likely to largely change the effective
from the decay
, the model with both an additional Higgs doublet and fourth-generation quarks can easily account for the possible large negative value of
without conflicting with other experimental constraints. In this model, additional large CP violating effects may arise from the flavor-changing Yukawa interactions between neutral Higgs bosons and the heavy fourth-generation down type quark, which can modify the QCD penguin contributions. With the constraints obtained from
processes such as
and
, this model can lead to an effective
as large as - 0.4 in the CP asymmetry of

A search for lepton-flavor-violating interactions
and
has been performed with the ZEUS detector using the entire HERA I data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity
of
. The data were taken at center-of-mass energies,
, of 300 and
. No evidence of lepton-flavor violation was found, and constraints were derived on leptoquarks (LQs) that could mediate such
interactions. For LQ masses below
, limits were set on
, where
is the coupling of the LQ to an electron and a first-generation quark q1, and
is the branching ratio of the LQ to the final-state lepton
(μ or
) and a quark q. For LQ masses much larger than
, limits were set on the four-fermion interaction term
for LQs that couple to an electron and a quark
and to a lepton
and a quark
, where
and
are quark generation indices. Some of the limits are also applicable to lepton-flavor-violating processes mediated by squarks
in R-Parity-violating supersymmetric models. In some cases, especially when a higher-generation quark is involved and for the
process
, the ZEUS limits are the most stringent to date.

Employing the standard hard-scattering approach (HSA) in conjunction with the running coupling (RC) method, the latter joined with the infrared renormalon calculus, we compute power-suppressed corrections
to the massless
-meson-virtual-gluon transition form factor (FF)
. Contributions to the form factor from the quark and gluon components of the
meson are taken into account. Analytic expressions for the FFs
and
are also presented, as well as Borel transforms
and resummed expressions. It is shown that except for
, the Borel transform contains an infinite number of infrared renormalon poles. It is demonstrated that in the explored range of the total gluon virtuality
, power corrections found with the RC method considerably enhance the FF
relative to results obtained only in the context of the standard HSA with a frozen coupling.Received: 19 May 2003, Revised: 24 October 2003, Published online: 8 December 2003Permanent address: S.S. Upper limits on the cross-section of the pair-production process
, assuming 100
branching fraction to hadrons, are derived from a new search for the
hadrons final state, independently of the hadronic flavour of the decay products. This study, combined with previously published searches for the neutral Higgs bosons h0 and A0, is used to constrain the Type II Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM(II)) with no CP violation in the Higgs sector and no additional non-Standard Model particles besides the five Higgs bosons. The analysis combines LEP1 and LEP2 data collected with the OPAL detector up to the highest available centre-of-mass energies. The searches are sensitive to the
and
decay modes of the Higgs bosons. A benchmark scan of the 2HDM(II) parameter space is performed. Large regions of the 2HDM(II) parameter space explored are excluded at the 95% CL in the (

The standard-model interpretation of the ratios of charged and neutral
rates, R
c and R
n, respectively, points towards a puzzling picture. Since these observables are affected significantly by colour-allowed electroweak (EW) penguins, this
puzzle could be a manifestation of new physics in the EW penguin sector. Performing the analysis in the R
n- R
c plane, which is very suitable for monitoring various effects, we demonstrate that we may, in fact, move straightforwardly to the experimental region in this plane through an enhancement of the relevant EW penguin parameter q. We derive analytical bounds for q in terms of a quantity L, which measures the violation of the Lipkin sum rule, and point out that strong phases around
are favoured by the data, in contrast to QCD factorisation. The
modes imply a correlation between q and the angle
that, in the limit of negligible rescattering effects and colour-suppressed EW penguins, depends only on the value of L. Concentrating on a minimal flavour-violating new-physics scenario with enhanced Z
0 penguins, we find that the current experimental values on
require roughly
. As the
data give
, L has either to move to smaller values once the
data improve or new sources of flavour and CP violation are needed. In turn, the enhanced values of L seen in the
data could be accompanied by enhanced branching ratios for the rare decays
,
,
and
. Most interesting turns out to be the correlation between the
modes and
, with the latter depending approximately on a single scaling variable
